The Center for Internet Security (CIS) and other internet watchdogs confirmed that a hacktivist group known as the "313 Team" is behind a Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attack that brought down Truth Social. Just hours after the U.S. strikes, Truth Social crashed around 8 p.m. ET on Saturday, June 21 — right after President Donald Trump broke the news on his account. Visitors trying to access the site were met with messages like, "Network failed… Please try again."

The 313 Team is reportedly part of a broader network of hacktivists aligned with pro-Russian and pro-Palestinian movements. Their goal is to target public infrastructure, government websites and technology firms in Israel and other allied nations.

The cyberattack comes as the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) issues new warnings about possible retaliation from Iranian-linked hackers: "Iranian government-affiliated cyber actors will probably prioritize retaliatory attacks against Israeli targets in the short term but may target U.S. networks due to their perception of U.S. support for Israeli strikes," the DHS said. According to
ABC News, the CIS also briefed federal law enforcement, warning that these attacks were more likely if the U.S. escalated its involvement: "The likelihood of such attacks will increase if the U.S. strikes Iran or overtly provides military support to the Israeli air campaign," CIS reportedly told officials.
