During an interview on Air Force One, Donald Trump emphasized how he doesn't want to see Iran enriching uranium."They won't be enriching. If they enrich, then we're going to have to do it the other way," the Republican leader explained to the press while hinting at military action. "And I don't really want to do it the other way but we're going to have no choice. There's not going to be enrichment."

As the United States and Iran have done their best to come to an agreement on a nuclear deal, supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said halting uranium enrichment is not what is best for his country. The politician also accused the U.S. of being "arrogant" with the request to stop the enriching process in order to find common ground."Who are you to decide whether Iran should have enrichment?" Khamenei said in a speech broadcasted to the public. "If we had 100 nuclear power plants while not having enrichment, they are not usable for us."

According to reports, a drafted agreement was put together in May by Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff that did include enriching, though only for civilian use. However, the State Department clarified that Donald Trump did not support Iran enriching uranium at any level."The fact is, President Trump tweeted that there is going to be no uranium enrichment," spokeswoman Tammy Bruce told the press on Tuesday, June 3.

While much has been made of the ongoing talks between the United States and Iran, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt explained where Donald Trump and Steve Witkoff stand in their negotiation conditions."President Trump has made it clear that Iran can never obtain a nuclear bomb. Special Envoy Witkoff has sent a detailed and acceptable proposal to the Iranian regime and it's in their best interest to accept it," the media liaison said during a Monday, June 2, briefing. "Out of respect for the ongoing deal, the administration will not comment on details of the proposal to the media."
