Sarah Ferguson has been growing increasingly concerned that daughters
Princess Beatrice and
Princess Eugenie are being tainted by the scrutiny she and ex-husband Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor are facing over their ties to convicted predator Jeffrey Epstein. While
King Charles III previously signaled that, unlike their parents, the princesses would remain in the royal fold — the monarch notably invited his nieces to family events including Christmas services on his Sandringham estate and his pre-holiday luncheon — others have not been so welcoming. "Sarah is upset that their names have apparently been taken off the guest lists for red carpet and charity events," a source told
DailyMail.com.

As Sarah Ferguson fumes about how her daughters are being treated, she's continued to lay low amid the Jeffrey Epstein files fallout. After she and ex-husband Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor were recently evicted from Royal Lodge — the home they shared for decades — Fergie spent time with friends in the French Alps before traveling to the United Arab Emirates, DailyMail.com reported. The former Duke of York, meanwhile, moved to Wood Farm on King Charles III's Sandringham estate, where he was recently arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office.

Sarah Ferguson's name was scrubbed from invite lists months ago — she also lost her many charitable patronages — as new information about the depths of her association with Jeffrey Epstein began to surface. Yet, according to DailyMail.com, the former Duchess of York is plotting a comeback. The outlet reported that Fergie has started looking for a new public relations team to represent her, telling friends, "I need to get back to work. I need money." Fergie also allegedly told a pal she realizes that if she returns to Britain, "I am going to have to put some distance between myself and [ex-husband] Andrew [Mountbatten-Windsor]," who is currently the subject of a U.K. police investigation after emails made public by the U.S. Justice Department appeared to show he sent confidential government information to Epstein while serving as Britain's trade envoy.

Sarah Ferguson's critics, however, don't think a U.K. comeback is in the cards. "I don't know whether Sarah is just deluded or desperate. She is 66 and has no home and no discernible income," another source told DailyMail.com. "The public is disgusted by what they have read. And how would she pay a new PR team to rescue her reputation? She is said to be looking to bounce back, in typical Fergie style. I'm just not sure the public will buy it."
