James Lafferty played popular basketball player Nathan Scott on "One Tree Hill."
Post-"One Tree Hill," James Lafferty appeared in projects including the miniseries "The Haunting of Hill House" and the drama "The Right Stuff." in 2021, he teamed up with former "OTH" co-star Stephen Colletti for the Hulu show "Everyone is Doing Great," which is loosely based on their experiences after wrapping the teen drama. James has also done some directing, most notably on the soapy E! drama "The Royals," which is where he met actress Alexandra Park. They got engaged in 2020.
Chad Michael Murray played basketball player Lucas Scott, Nathan's half-brother.
Chad Michael Murray left "One Tree Hill" after six seasons and has continued to act steadily since on shows like "Agent Carter" and "Riverdale." He also got to work with another alum of the CW show, Torrey DeVitto, when the two teamed up for the 2019 Hallmark holiday movie "Five Cards for Christmas." After ending a seven-year engagement to "OTH" extra Kenzie Dalton — which came after his brief marriage to co-star Sophia Bush — he fell for actress Sarah Roemer, his co-star on the Crackle series "Chosen." The couple, who married in 2015, now have two children.
Bethany Joy Lenz played Nathan's wife, smart and talented singer Haley James Scott (she's seen here with her on-screen husband).
After leaving "One Tree Hill," Bethany Joy Lenz popped up on shows including "Dexter" and "Colony" but also continued to pursue music, just like her "OTH" character. She's released projects, including two Christmas albums, under a few names — Joy Lenz & The Fellows as well as Bethany Joy. In 2021, she reunited with castmates Sophia Bush and Hilarie Burton Morgan for the podcast "Drama Queens," on which they revisit old episodes of their show.
Sophia Bush played cheerleader-turned-fashion designer Brooke Davis.
After she stopped playing Brooke Davis, Sophia Bush quickly dove into the world of "Chicago P.D." on which she played detective Erin Lindsay for four seasons until 2017. She joined the cast of Hulu's "Love, Victor" in 2020 and in 2021 launched the "Drama Queens" podcast with old co-stars Bethany Joy Lenz and Hilarie Burton Morgan on which they revisit episodes of their hit show. Following her 2005 marriage to and split from "OTH" co-star Chad Michael Murray, she made headlines when she romanced castmates James Lafferty and Austin Nichols as well as "Chicago P.D." co-star Jesse Lee Soffer. She's been with FocusMotion Health co-founder Grant Hughes since 2020.
Peyton Sawyer was played by Hilarie Burton.
Hilarie Burton Morgan was introduced to actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan in 2009 by then-co-star Danneel Ackles. After departing "One Tree Hill" after the sixth season, she married Jeffrey and welcomed two children with him after a long infertility struggle to have her second, which she's spoken about publicly. Hilarie continued to act on everything from "White Collar" and "Grey's Anatomy" to "Extant" and the "Lethal Weapon" TV series, but she also relishes a quiet life with her family in Rhinebeck, New York, where they own a farm as well as a candy store with pal Paul Rudd.
Paul Johansson played Nathan's father, Dan Scott, the resident villain.
Paul Johansson has continued to act since leaving "One Tree Hill," appearing on a variety of television shows including "Mad Men" and "Van Helsing" and in films like "Dear Eleanor."
Moira Kelly played Karen Roe, Dan's ex and Lucas's mother.
Moira Kelly has slowed down her acting since leaving "One Tree Hill" in 2009 but still takes on parts here and there. In recent years, she's appeared on "The Resident" and "Panic" and in the television movie "Deadly Sorority."
Barry Corbin played Tree Hill Ravens basketball coach Whitey Durham.
Barry Corbin hasn't let age slow him down. The octogenarian, who's long called texas home, has appeared on shows like "Better Call Saul," "Anger Management," "The Ranch" and "9-1-1: Lone Star" since "One Tree Hill" ended. In 2016, he married his third wife, Jo Montana.
Nathan's mother, Deb Scott, was brought to life by Barbara Alyn Woods.
Barbara Alyn Woods has mostly paused her acting career as she's raised a brood of actresses. Daughters Natalie, Emily and Alyvia are all in the business. Emily Alyn Lind is following in her mom's footsteps with a role on a soapy teen drama too: the 2021 "Gossip Girl" reboot on HBO Max.
Nathan and Lucas's uncle, Keith Scott, was played by Craig Sheffer.
Since his character was tragically murdered by his on-screen brother on season 3 of "One Tree Hill," Craig Sheffer has continue acting with small parts and guest appearances on shows like "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," "Criminal Minds" and "The Mentalist." Though still acting, he had to hit pause for a time as he left Los Angeles to take care of his ailing mother and brother for eight years. They've both since passed away.
Lee Norris played Tree Hill student Marvin "Mouth" McFadden.
After "One Tree Hill," Lee Norris returned to his acting roots on "Girl Meets World," a reboot of "Boy Meets World," on which he had his breakout role. He appeared on the show intermittently between 2014 and 2017. His last acting credit was in 2020 — a bit part in the film "Greyhound" as a messenger.
Stephen Colletti (seen here in 2012) played Chase Adams, a high school "Clean Teen"-turned-bar manager of TRIC.
"Laguna Beach" alum Stephen Colletti has acted here and there since "One Tree Hill," most notably on "Everyone is Doing Great" with James Lafferty, a show for which Stephen is also a writer and executive producer. Ex-girlfriend Kristin Cavallari stoked dating rumors between the two when she posted a photo of them cozied up on Instagram in 2020, but the truth is the two simply remained friendly since their days on their MTV reality show.
Austin Nichols (seen here with former on- and off-screen love Sophia Bush in 2011) played Julian Baker, Brooke Davis's husband. He was a movie producer who made the film version of Lucas Scott's life story.
In the years since the 2012 "One Tree Hill" finale, Austin Nichols has had roles on acclaimed shows including "Ray Donovan," "The Walking Dead" and "Bates Motel." He and Sophia split in 2012. His last high-profile public relationship was with actress Chloe Bennett, whom he dated between 2014 and 2017.
Nathan's agent, Clay Evans, was played by Robert Buckley, seen here in 2011.
Robert Buckley has reunited with his "One Tree Hill" fellow alums since the show wrapped, notably on the television movie "The Christmas Contract," which co-starred Hilarie Burton Morgan, Danneel Ackles, Tyler Hilton and Antwon Tanner. He married actress Jenny Wade in 2018.
Shantel VanSanten (seem here in 2011) joined the cast of "One Tree Hill" as Haley's old sister, who ultimately ends up marrying Nathan's agent, Clay.
Shantel VanSanten has stayed busy on television since closing the door on Quinn James Evans, enjoying main roles on "Shooter" and "For All Mankind." She and Canadian actor Victor Webster got engaged in 2021.
Jana Kramer played fallen starlet Alex Dupre on the final three seasons of the show.
Jana Kramer got more famous post-"One Tree Hill" thanks to her country music singing career, her acting — some of it in Lifetime movies — and her headline-making romances. The year "OTH" ended, she started seeing country star Brantley Gilbert; they got engaged and split in 2013. A year later, Jana — who hosts the popular "Whine Down" podcast — started her relationship with former NFL player Mike Caussin, whom she married in 2015 and ultimately left in 2021 after years of ups and down amid his cheating scandals. They have two kids.
Antwon Tanner (seen here in 2005) played Skills Taylor, a basketball friend of Lucas's from the River Court.
Antwon Tanner continues to act, enjoying roles in "Black Jesus," "The Christmas Contract" (with many of his "One Tree Hill" castmates) and "Get Shorty."
Rachel Gatina, a troubled rival to Brooke (and briefly Dan's wife), was played by Danneel Ackles (seen here in 2006).
Danneel Ackles grew her family immediately after "One Tree Hill" wrapped. She and actor Jensen Ackles have since had three children — a daughter in 2013 and twins in 2016. She's acted occasionally, enjoying roles in "Friends with Benefits" and on "Supernatural" alongside her husband.
Jackson Brundage played Haley and Nathan's adorable son, Jamie Scott.
Jamie Scott is all grown up! Jackson Brundage continued to act throughout his childhood. After "One Tree Hill," he had roles on "See Dad Run" on Nick at Nite and "Harvey Beaks" as the voice of Foo.
