"Thank you again, I won't forget it," Trump reportedly told Roberts.Roberts was the author of the Supreme Court decision Trump vs. United States, the document that confirmed presidents have complete immunity from criminal prosecution. There were rumors of the president being grateful for Roberts' contributions to his return to the Oval Office, but the president shut down the claims.

Trump took to Truth Social after he saw that his comment to Roberts was making headlines."The Fake 'Play the Ref' News, in order to create a divide between me and our great U.S. Supreme Court, heard me say last night, loudly and openly as I was walking past the Justices on the way to the podium, 'thank you,' to Chief Justice John Roberts," Trump wrote on Wednesday, March 5.
"Like most people, I don't watch Fake News CNN or MSDNC, but I understand they are going 'crazy' asking what is it that I was thanking Justice Roberts for?" Trump continued.

Trump later claimed that the outlets reporting on the quick conversation failed to do their due diligence."They never called my office to ask, of course, but if they had I would have told these [sleazy] 'journalists' that I thanked him for SWEARING ME IN ON INAUGURATION DAY, AND DOING A REALLY GOOD JOB IN SO DOING! The Fake News never quits!" he wrote.

Aside from being appreciative of Roberts, Trump made his vision for the nation clear during his speech."The American Dream is unstoppable, and our country is on the verge of a comeback the likes of which the world has never witnessed, and perhaps will never witness again," the Republican boasted.
"Never been anything like it," he added. "The presidential election of November 5th was a mandate like has not been seen in many decades."

Despite Joe Biden putting an end to his political career in 2024, Trump still decided to use his platform as an opportunity to disparage his former competitor."In comparison, under Joe Biden, the worst president in American history, there were hundreds of thousands of illegal crossings a month, and virtually all of them, including murderers, drug dealers, gang members and people from mental institutions and insane asylums, were released into our country," he wrote.
"Who would want to do that?" he asked.

While past presidents attempted to unify parties in their delivery, Trump avoided it."This is my fifth such speech to Congress, and once again, I look at the Democrats in front of me, and I realize there is absolutely nothing I can say to make them happy or to make them stand or smile or applaud, nothing I can do," the former reality star admitted.

According to Trump, the Democratic party is committed to disliking him."I could find a cure to the most devastating disease, a disease that would wipe out entire nations, or announce the answers to the greatest economy in history or the stoppage of crime to the lowest levels ever recorded, and these people sitting right here will not clap, will not stand and certainly will not cheer for these astronomical achievements," he said.
