While promoting her new single, "Smile," from her forthcoming album of the same name on Friday, July 10, the nearly 9-months pregnant singer, who's expecting her first child with fiancé Orlando Bloom, made multiple cracks about her looks.
On Twitter, she chimed in on a fan account that shared a glam shot of her looking perfectly coiffed, with expertly applied makeup and hair accessories that matched her black-and-white ensemble.
"Look at Katy Perry!" the fan account gushed. Katy, however, was not impressed with herself.
"I def don't wake up like this," she assured followers, retweeting the post.
By that point in the day, she'd had some practice in the self-deprecation department.
"I am waddling like a duck," she quipped Friday morning during an interview on "Hits Radio Breakfast" (via the Daily Mail).
"I'm breathing heavily. I'm a full-on mouth-breather. And, um yeah, it's loud and obnoxious. And — oh my God — I just eat so much flavored ice! It's like, 'Put all the ice in my mouth, right now!'" she added.
Katy made another crack about her pregnant bod while chatting about her new album — and new addition — on Heart Radio.
Joking that what she most looks forward to about becoming a mom is "my belly button going back," she explained her focus on her belly button is "definitely one of those things when you're not pregnant that if you observe other pregnant women, you're just like, 'I just hope my belly button stays where it's at and it doesn't pop, I really hope I don't look like that.'"
In the same vein, she told an interviewer in May that she was "turning into Shrek, size-wise," during lockdown in Los Angeles, while Orlando's "pro-style cycling" hobby had him "turning into The Hulk."
Not that fans are necessarily buying Katy's claims that she looks anything less than gorgeous as the couple await their daughter's arrival.
While friends and Instagram followers marveled at how amazing her skin looks — "OMG ARE YOU 35 OR 25," one user asked — Katy was humble, writing in the comments, "blackheads and all, baby."
The singer's album, "Smile," is due out Aug. 14.
