Mike Pence to reject the certification of electoral votes during the January 6, 2021, congressional session.

alternative slates of electors, thereby disrupting the formal Electoral College proceedings, which is largely ceremonial.
Smith summarized that Trump wanted his supporters to discover "how best to mimic the manner in which the state required valid electors to gather and vote."
Co-Conspirators Discovered But Not Indicted
The report identifies several individuals who collaborated with Trump in his efforts to
overturn the election. While these co-conspirators played significant roles, they have not been indicted, possibly due to insufficient evidence to meet the legal threshold for charges or strategic prosecutorial decisions.

Nancy Pelosi. He once claimed that Pelosi failed to adequately secure the Capitol, thereby allowing the unrest to escalate. This narrative has been a consistent element of Trump's defense strategy.

Smith Stands by Decision to Prosecute Trump

He emphasizes that the investigation was conducted with integrity and in accordance with legal standards, highlighting the importance of accountability in upholding democratic principles.
The 45th president's defenders and Trump himself have called it all "nothing but a
witch hunt," and the "Russia hoax all over again."
Classified Documents Probe Not to Be Released
The report also addresses the investigation into Trump's handling of
classified documents. Due to ongoing legal proceedings involving associates of Trump, details of this probe will remain confidential to avoid compromising related cases.
