Tom Homan thinks Democrats used immigration policy for their political advantage. During an appearance on the "
Pod Force One" podcast,
Donald Trump's border czar slammed former president
Joe Biden and politicians on the left for having "sold out" the United States for "power" with their more laidback approach to people crossing the border illegally.

Tom Homan alleged Joe Biden allowed "open borders" to get people to vote for Democrats in the future: "They wanted to overwhelm the system because they knew it'd be millions of people that they thought would be in their corner in the future," the former law enforcement officer claimed to host Miranda Devine during the sit-down. "They sold this country out for future political power. There is no other reason why you would open a border. There's no downside on a secured border. There's only one reason you would do this: Because you saw a future political benefit in doing it."

Tom Homan continued to point the finger at Joe Biden for how he dealt with illegal immigration while noting how other American leaders have never been as relaxed on the issue: "I've worked for six presidents, starting with Ronald Reagan," the right-winger explained. "Every president I ever worked for took steps to secure the border. Even [Bill] Clinton, [Barack] Obama, took some steps. No one was more successful than President [Donald] Trump. His success was unprecedented. But Joe Biden, I've said this many times, Joe Biden is the first president in the history of this nation who came in office and unsecured a border on purpose. They opened it, they meant to open it and knew exactly what they were doing."

While Tom Homan and the rest of Donald Trump's administration have been extremely strict on immigration, the former director of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement alleged the influx of illegal immigrants during Joe Biden's time in office will impact the census and who will have political power in the country: "I think part of it was, they thought there are all these people [who are] going to be future Democratic voters," Homan theorized. "But I also think — when Biden came in and signed over nine executive orders abolishing everything we did on Trump 45, he also overturned the Trump census rule, which says basically illegal aliens [can't] be counted in the census. So the man's illegal aliens, being released in sanctuary cities like New York, will be counted in the next census, which is going to mean what? It means more seats in the House for the Dems. So they certainly saw a political benefit. There's no other reason."
