Donald Trump claims he's a strong advocate for females.During a speech at the White House's Women's History Month celebration on Wednesday, March 26, the Republican leader declared himself the "fertility president" as he vowed to expand access to in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatments across the country.

"We're going to have tremendous goodies in the bag for women, too," Donald Trump stated to the crowd at the event. "The women, between the fertilization and all of the other things that we're talking about, it's going to be great."As the room broke out into laughter, the businessman continued, "Fertilization. I'm still very proud of it. I don't care. I'll be known as the fertilization president and that's not bad. I've been called much worse and actually, I like it. I like it."

Before securing a win in the November 2024 election, Donald Trump dubbed himself the "father of IVF" while trying to rack up votes despite his many stances that could harm people's access to treatment."Oh, I want to talk about IVF. During the 2024 appearance, a woman pressed Donald Trump about women's "ability to access IVF and other fertility treatments" following Roe v. Wade being overturned.The Apprentice alum said he asked Alabama Senator Katie Britt to "explain IVF … very quickly" to him to better comprehend what is at stake for females in America.
"And within about two minutes, I understood it," Trump noted while claiming he made it clear to Britt that his administration would be "totally in favor of IVF."
Following the bold statement, the former reality star took to his Truth Social account to double down on his alleged support for the cause. "Like the OVERWHELMING MAJORITY of Americans, including the VAST MAJORITY of Republicans, Conservatives, Christians and Pro-Life Americans, I strongly support the availability of IVF for couples who are trying to have a precious baby. Today, I am calling on the Alabama Legislature to act quickly to find an immediate solution to preserve the availability of IVF in Alabama," he wrote.

Donald Trump's rival in the 2024 election, former Vice President Kamala Harris, slammed his declaration on women's issues."He should take responsibility for the fact that one in three women in America lives in a Trump's abortion ban state. What he should take responsibility for is that couples who are praying and hoping and working towards growing a family have been so disappointed and harmed by the fact that IVF treatments have now been put at risk," she explained on the campaign trail via Newsweek.
