In a Monday, April 28, episode of The Daily Show, Jon Stewart mocked Donald Trump's approach to the conflict."I'm gonna end the war in Ukraine on day one… Is this thing on?" the comedian said while mimicking hitting a mic.
"By the way, I'm a little shocked Trump couldn't get it done, given his Solomon-like peace plan," he continued.

Historically, the U.S. has been an ally to Ukraine, but Donald Trump has been accused of showing favoritism to Russia."So Russia, who invaded a sovereign nation, gets… everything that they wanted, and in return, Ukraine… gets to give it to them?" Jon Stewart asked.
"I'm obviously not a master negotiator, but I think I could have delivered that plan," Stewart continued.

Jon Stewart noted that Donald Trump requested that Vladimir Putin stop bombing Ukraine, but a formal ceasefire agreement hasn't been made."Here's the kicker," Stewart said. "After saying to Russia, 'Well, what if we divide it where you get everything,' Putin just kept f****** bombing. And Trump is now reduced from the world's greatest negotiator to, 'Aw, come on!'"

On Thursday, April 24, Donald Trump took to Truth Social to share his disappointment in Vladimir Putin."I am not happy with the Russian strikes on KYIV. Not necessary, and very bad timing," Trump penned. "Vladimir, STOP! 5000 soldiers a week are dying."

Jon Stewart later made fun of Donald Trump's decision to try to communicate with Vladimir Putin via Truth Social."Vladdy, stop!" Stewart mockingly said. "Stop! It's in all caps, Vladimir."
"The commander-in-chief of the world's most powerful army, with the nuclear briefcase on one side, the direct red phone to Moscow on the other, decided the best way to demonstrate the seriousness in which he took this heinous bombing was to open off-brand Twitter and, all caps, [write] 'STOP,'" Stewart continued.

As Jon Stewart noted, Donald Trump's social media activity didn't help create a path to peace for Ukraine and Russia."You'd be surprised to know that 'stop' didn't work," Stewart joked. "Because Vladimir Putin is not a golden doodle."
