Journalist Kristen Welker pressed Donald Trump about why he hasn't facilitated the return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia from El Salvador: "Your Secretary of State says everyone who's here, citizens and non-citizens, deserve due process," she said. "Do you agree, Mr. President?""I don't know," the Republican leader replied. "I'm not a lawyer. I don't know."
"Well, the Fifth Amendment says as much," the reporter emphasized.
"I don't know," Trump repeated. "It might say that, but if you're talking about that, then we'd have to have a million or two million or three million trials. We have thousands of people that are some murderers and some drug dealers and some of the worst people on Earth. Some of the worst, most dangerous people on Earth. And I was elected to get them the h*** out of here, and the courts are holding me from doing it."
"But even given those numbers that you're talking about, don't you need to uphold the Constitution of the United States as president?" Welker asked.
"I don't know. I have to respond by saying, again, I have brilliant lawyers that work for me, and they are going to obviously follow what the Supreme Court said. What you said is not what I heard the Supreme Court said. They have a different interpretation," Trump claimed.

This is not the first time Donald Trump has made it clear where he stands on bringing Kilmar Abrego Garcia back to the United States.During a Tuesday, April 29, interview with ABC News, Terry Moran asked the former star of The Apprentice why he would not comply with the order.
"This is a MS-13 gang member," Trump alleged. "A tough cookie, been in lots of skirmishes, beat the h*** out of his wife and the wife was petrified to talk about him, ok? This is not an innocent, wonderful gentleman from Maryland."
"I'm not saying he's a good guy. It's about the rule of law. The order from the Supreme Court stands, sir," Moran replied.
"He came into our country illegally," Trump responded.
"You could get him back. There's a phone on this desk. You could pick it up and with all the power of the presidency, you could call up the president of El Salvador and say, 'Send him back right now,'" Moran fired back.
"And if he were the gentleman you say he is, I would do that," Trump said.

Donald Trump's decision to ignore the Supreme Court order has upset people on the left, and even some Republicans have called out the unprecedented move."I think what they ought to do is probably follow the judge's order and the Supreme Court decision, which used the word 'facilitate,'" Fox News journalist Trey Gowdy said on the Tuesday, April 15, episode of The Story with Martha MacCallum. "Also in that opinion, Martha, were the words 'accidental,' 'mistake' and 'illegal.' I mean, those are not three good words you want in a Supreme Court decision."

When Donald Trump hosted El Salvador president Nayib Bukele at the White House, the foreign leader said he had no plans to help with Kilmar Abrego Garcia's return."How can I return him to the United States? Like if I smuggle him into the United States?" Bukele said, according to NBC News. "Of course I'm not going to do it. The question is preposterous."
