Kaia Gerber and
Austin Butler first sparked romance rumors in December of 2021 after they were spotted taking a yoga class together. Despite becoming a power couple in Hollywood, the duo recently decided to go their separate ways.
A source claiming to have "direct knowledge" told
TMZ that they quietly broke up at the end of 2024. According to the source, their relationship "just simply ran its course after a good three years together."

After months of avoiding dating rumors, Gerber and Butler made their relationship public in March of 2022, as they both attended
W Magazine's annual Best Performances party.
However, they didn't make their red carpet debut until the 2022 Met Gala.
Before dating Butler, Gerber was in a high-profile romance with
Euphoria star
Jacob Elordi.
"You have to silence the outside world," Gerber told
i-D when she still was linked to Elordi. "The only people who know anything about anything are the people in the relationship. The public is very loud, so you have to make your own feelings even louder."

Although Butler and Gerber often attended events together, the pair remained tight-lipped about their relationship.
"Honestly, I feel like so few things in my life are private, and that is one of the things that I try to keep as sacred as possible," Gerber told WSJ. Magazine last year.

Gerber followed in the footsteps of her parents,
Cindy Crawford and
Rande Gerber, by pursuing a career in modeling, and Butler publicly supported her after she was featured on the March 2024 cover of
British Vogue.
"It was legendary," he told
Entertainment Tonight while in London for the premiere of
Dune: Part Two. "It was amazing. I loved getting to see that. What an exciting cover. I loved it."
The
Elvis star's comments came as a surprise to some, as he often avoided mentioning Kaia in interviews.

Gerber and Butler's ten-year age difference might have influenced their split. According to a source, the lack of progression worried Gerber's parents.
"Rande and Cindy both love Austin and think of him as family, but the fact is he isn't," a source told Daily Mail. "After dating their daughter Kaia for over three years he's shown no sign of asking her to get engaged."
"They don't think for a minute he isn't serious about her, but he's 33 and isn't it time he thought about settling down," the insider noted.
