Bittersweet birthday
Friday, Sept. 29 would have been Stephen "tWitch" Boss' 41st birthday. It's the first such milestone to arrive since the dancer and TV personality died by suicide in December 2022. As a tribute to the late star, his wife, Allison Holker, and their three children visited tWitch's grave, sharing photos on social media of the flowers and smiles they brought to the cemetery for him.
"We honor our beautiful, sweet, kind and loving Stephen tWitch Laurel Boss," Allison captioned the carousel of pics on Instagram. "Forever on our hearts and minds carrying us, guiding us and lifting us. We feel your presence every day and will forever be grateful for the beautiful times we shared together. We feel your arms wrapping around us and holding us up on this day." She closed her post by writing, "Happy birthday my love @sir_twitch_alot a day we will always celebrate the gift you were and still are to this world. We love you!"
In the comments, tWitch's longtime friend, sidekick and colleague, Ellen DeGeneres, told Allison, "It's a beautiful day. Sending you all so much love." A professional dancer who went on to co-executive produce "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," tWitch met Allison during their tenures on "So You Think You Can Dance." They couple celebrated nine years of marriage a few days before tWitch's unexpected death. Since then, Allison's kept fans and loved ones abreast of her family's grieving process on social media. A children's book co-written by Allison and tWitch, "Keep Dancing Through: A Boss Family Groove," is due out in January 2024.

Defending Russell Brand
Once again, Elon Musk is defending Russell Brand as the comic faces sexual assault allegations from multiple women. In an interview with conservative political commentator Ben Shapiro on Sept. 28, the SpaceX founder took issue with the way Russell has lost income streams and access to monetizing his Youtube channel as a result of the accusations, which he has denied. "There needs to be, obviously, a conviction here. It can't be guilty until proven innocent," Elon said in the conversation with Ben, per DailyMail.com. "Because obviously we're just sort of in the witch-burning phase here; just being declared a witch is enough to make you a witch and be burnt."
Four women accused the comic of sexually assaulting them in reports published by The Times and Sunday Times newspapers and in a TV documentary that aired on Britain's Channel 4 on Sept. 16. None of the accusers have shared their names publicly. After the allegations came to light, London police encouraged other accusers to contact them "no matter how long ago" an incident may have taken place. Elon, meanwhile, posted on his X platform (formerly Twitter), "I support Russell Brand. That man is not evil."
Speaking to Ben Shapiro, he posited it was wrong to see the public "destroying" Russell's name based "on the potential of false accusations." He also suggested Russell was targeted by "the powers that be" for making controversial statements. "Seems like an odd coincidence that it's happening when Russell is really gaining traction, questioning a lot of the conventional wisdom," Elon said. "I think we're running out of conspiracy theories that didn't turn out to be true."

'Taylor Made' for love and football
NBC's "Sunday Night Football" is ready to capitalize on the romance rumors swirling around part-time New Yorker Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. Ahead of the Chiefs' upcoming game against the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium on Oct. 1, NBC released a promo for its broadcast of the game, teasing on X (formerly Twitter) that the ad was "Taylor Made for Sunday Night." The clip is a montage of footage showing multiple players — but as Billboard points out, the spot opens with Travis, closes with Travis and features Taylor singing "Welcome to New York" in the background.
Released on Friday, Sept. 29, the promo comes less than a week after Taylor was photographed cheering for Travis and his team as they took on the Chicago Bears at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri on Sept. 24. The 12-time Grammy winner was decked out in Chiefs' colors, red and white, and appeared to be seated next to Travis' mom for the event. NBC's new spot also follows reports claiming Taylor denied Fox's request to play her music during its broadcast of the Chiefs-Bears game.
According to a recent blog post by "NFL on Fox," reps for Taylor's label and publishing company nixed the offer "in conjunction with speculations on or about her private/personal/dating life." As of Friday, Taylor was widely expected to attend Sunday's Chiefs-Jets game.

'Chattel' comment controversy
Oprah Winfrey's close friend, Gayle King, said she was both "surprised" and "disappointed" to hear Cindy Crawford's revelation that Oprah made her feel "like chattel" when she first appeared on her show in 1986. Cindy recounted the experience in the first episode of "The Super Models" docuseries on Apple TV+, recalling that she was 20 when she joined her modeling rep, John Casablancas on "The Oprah Winfrey Show."
A clip of her appearance shows Oprah introducing Cindy, then asking John, "Did she always have this body?" She then directs Cindy to stand up, which Cindy does. "Now this is what I call a body," Oprah marvels. "I was like the chattel or a child, be seen and not heard," Cindy said while reflecting on the moment in "The Super Models." "When you look at it through today's eyes," she continued, acknowledging how perspectives change with time, "Oprah's like, 'Stand up and show me your body. Show us why you're worthy of being here.' In the moment I didn't recognize it, and watching it back I was like, 'Oh, my gosh. That was so not OK, really.' Especially from Oprah."
Asked about Cindy's comments about Oprah on Sept. 28, Gayle King told Entertainment Tonight, "I haven't seen it, and I want to see it, but I'm surprised and a little disappointed. Because I know Cindy's been on her show many, many, many times and it has always been a pleasant experience. I would hate to think that something that happened years ago [bothered her]." She added, "It's not Oprah's thing to humiliate or make anybody feel badly … as far as I know, everything is good between Oprah and Cindy." According to ET, Cindy appeared on "Oprah" 10 more times after the awkward exchange in 1986.

Suspect arrested
Nearly 30 years after Tupac Shakur was gunned down in a fatal drive-by shooting, Las Vegas police have arrested a suspect in connection with the iconic rapper's death, the Associated Press reported. Duane "Keffe D" Davis was arrested in Nevada on Sept. 29 after a grand jury there indicted him on one count of murder with a deadly weapon, Clark County Chief Deputy District Attorney Marc DiGiacomo confirmed to the AP. The suspect has previously said that he was in the Cadillac the gunfire that killed Tupac in 1996 came pouring out of. He also wrote about the incident in his 2019 memoir, "Compton Street Legend." According to the District Attorney, "Keffe D," now 60, was the "on-ground, on-site commander" who "ordered [the music star's] death. He's believed to be among the last living witnesses to the shooting, according to the outlet.
Prenup makeover
As Donald Trump faces multiple lawsuits and legal defeats while pushing ahead with an expensive presidential campaign, his wife Melania Trump has reportedly renegotiated their prenuptial agreement. According to a Page Six source, the revisions are intended to "provide a more solid future" for Melania and Barron Trump, the 17-year-old son she shares with Donald, if the former FLOTUS and POTUS call it quits. "Over the last year, Melania and her team have been quietly negotiating a new 'postnup' agreement between herself and Donald Trump," a source told the outlet on Sept. 28. "This is at least the third time Melania has renegotiated the terms of her martial agreement."
It's been a busy time for Donald's lawyers, to be sure. In addition to his upcoming civil trial in New York on fraud allegations, the former president faces four sets of criminal charges, two of which are tied to federal indictments. A separate case stemming from his comments about writer E. Jean Carroll, as well as a class action lawsuit regarding an alleged pyramid scheme, are expected to go to trial in January 2024, according to Forbes.
