Donald Trump is known for assigning nicknames to politicians and critics, but King Charles shut down the president's suggested moniker for him.

While at the American Cornerstone Institute Dinner, Donald Trump called William the Conqueror the "coolest name ever," even going on to attempt to gift King Charles III the title.
"I asked King Charles, 'Why don't we call you Charles the Conqueror?'" Trump shared.

Despite Donald Trump's enthusiasm, William the Conqueror was the first Norman king of England who invaded England in 1066. This led to the defeat of King Harold Godwinson, who was the Anglo-Saxon monarch, at the Battle of Hastings.
"No, [Laughs] I don't think so," King Charles III said.

Still, Donald Trump had nothing but kind words to say about the king.
"He's a great guy and he's doing a great job. An unbelievable job," Trump told Fox News.

Donald Trump also praised the royal family and how the institution functions. "It was a really fantastic trip," Trump declared. "The British know how to do this perfectly."
