President Donald Trump's approval ratings are slipping in two red states he previously won, according to a new poll.The Morning Consult survey, released on Wednesday, June 18, measured voter sentiment towards Trump's job performance across all 50 states — and the results reveal notable drop-offs in support.

The poll shows President Donald Trump has high approval in 26 states, down from 29 states in May, based on Morning Consult's daily tracking survey of registered voters.He is currently trailing behind in both Pennsylvania and Iowa, states where he secured about 50.4% and 56% of the vote in his 2024 victory over Kamala Harris.
Trump's numbers are also slipping in Arizona, where support is now split evenly at 49% – 49%.

The dip in approval comes as President Donald Trump faces rising pressure at home and abroad — navigating escalating tensions with Iran while ramping up ICE raids across the U.S.Still, despite setbacks in several states, Trump maintains a small overall approval rating nationally.
However, of the seven swing states that helped secure his second term, only three — Georgia, Nevada and North Carolina — currently show a positive approval margin.

Looking ahead to the 2026 midterms, President Donald Trump's decreasing approval could negatively impact Republican candidates in upcoming elections.In Virginia, governed by Republican Glenn Youngkin, just 46% of voters approve of Trump's performance, a one-point drop from last month, while 52% disapprove.
In New Jersey, where Republican Jack Ciattarelli is hoping to flip the state red in a race against Democrat Mikie Sherrill, Trump's numbers remain stagnant with 44% approve, 53% disapprove.
Meanwhile, in Maine, home to GOP Senator Susan Collins, Trump's disapproval rating rose two more points since May, reaching 59%.
