Carlson's Statement on Newsom and the Democratic Party
During the conversation, Megyn Kelly, who many also align with right-wing ideology, asked Tucker Carlson if he saw Gavin Newsom as the Democratic Party's "great white hope" for the 2028 election, especially considering Newsom's status as a white male.Carlson responded by claiming that Newsom, despite being white, might not be favored by his own party. He remarked, "It's the anti-white party, like they hate white people, they've been systematically disenfranchising white people from the country they were born in."
Carlson continued by pointing out that the Democratic Party's policies surrounding diversity often exclude white men. He stated, "They say it out loud, that's what diversity is, it's everybody but white men."
Comparison to Jim Crow
Tucker Carlson went further by comparing the modern Democratic Party's approach to the policies of segregationists during the Jim Crow era, which roughly spanned from the 1870s to mid-1960s.He suggested that the Democratic Party's actions are "much more comprehensive than Jim Crow ever was." Carlson implied that the disenfranchisement of white people in today's political climate is a systemic issue. "And so for the party that did that, that set up this, this Jim Crow system, anti-white system, to nominate another white guy, I mean maybe!" he said.
Speculation About the Future of the Democratic Party
Tucker Carlson also speculated that the Democratic Party might be more inclined to nominate someone other than Gavin Newsom. He mentioned that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) might be a more appealing choice for the party, saying, "I think they'd be much happier with AOC."Despite this, Carlson expressed uncertainty about Ocasio-Cortez's future in the party, stating, "I don't take her that seriously, I'm not really sure what I think." He also suggested that someone "with native talent" could emerge unexpectedly to challenge the established political figures in the party.
Public Reactions
Tucker Carlson's remarks sparked significant reactions on social media, with some users supporting his criticism of the Democratic Party, while others condemned it as inflammatory. One user on X remarked, "Tucker Carlson is right, this anti-White agenda is dangerous and divisive."
Meanwhile, others criticized Carlson's rhetoric, calling it a dangerous attempt to pit racial groups against one another.
"The constant race-baiting from Carlson is just getting old," another poster commented. "It's a distraction from real issues facing the country."
