April showers bring May flowers — and May fashion, which happened to include a lot of floral print! Wonderwall.com is rounding up the best and worst style of the month, starting with… Priyanka Chopra?! Priyanka very rarely lands on the miss list, but her outfit at a "Baywatch" screening in New York City on May 22 fell flat. The star wore a super-short and sparkly dress, which may have been fine on its own, but looked strange with the olive blazer she sported on top. Elle Fanning rarely misses when it comes to fashion, but her look at the "How to Talk to Girls at Parties" photocall during the Cannes Film Festival on May 21 left us scratching our heads. The Prada minidress was a fun hue, but was strangely emblazoned with a cartoon woman. The shoe selection, a matchy-matchy, clunky pair of Laurence Dacade heels, didn't help matters.
Highlighter-yellow chic! Blake Lively wore this neon yellow Oscar de la Renta gown to the American Ballet Theater's Spring Gala in New York City on May 22. And while we weren't crazy about the odd points at the bustline, we were in love with the fun hue and the cut of the skirt.
We wondered when this day would come. As crop tops and bralettes become more ubiquitous on red carpets, it was only a matter of time before someone literally just wore… a bra. Halsey tried out this look (which we hope doesn't become a trend) at the Billboard Music Awards on May 21, opting for a shiny white brassiere by Sergio Hudson. And the bad fashion didn't stop there — it continued down to her floor-length khaki skirt by Juun J. This one's so bad, we've got to take a closer look…
When it came to adding accessories to the bra and khaki skirt combo, Halsey didn't do much better. The singer opted for bangles on her wrists and what seemed to be the earring of the night at the award show: gold hoops.
Nicole Kidman dominated the Cannes Film Festival red carpet with some great fashion this year, and we particularly loved this fun LBD she wore to the "Top of the Lake" photocall on May 23. The black Versace dress featured all kinds of contrasts — a spaghetti strap side and a long-sleeved side, a high hemline and a low one — and we loved the unexpected take on a classic.
Diane Kruger wowed at Cannes, but it was her Dior dress at the Anniversary Soiree during the Cannes Film Festival on May 23 that really took our breath away. The blonde beauty simply stunned in pale, scalloped, tiered layers. See if from a different angle next!
From the back, Diane Kruger's Dior number was essentially backless, save for two dainty straps. We loved the way the layers of tulle fell behind her, making for an ethereal red carpet moment.
Marion Cotillard's fashion disappointed multiple times during the Cannes Film Festival, but this had to be her most egregious offense. The actress wore this '80s-inspired nightmare of a shimmery blouse to the festival's 70th Anniversary Dinner on May 23 and finished off the unfortunate top with a belt and leather pants. Ouch.
Flowers are definitely in right now! Mindy Kaling looked great in this pretty orange floor-length dress with ruffles along the bodice. The star of "The Mindy Project" sported the feminine frock, which was designed by Sachin and Babi, at the Hulu Upfronts in New York City on May 3.
For a classic red carpet moment, Calvin Klein is a great go-to. Bebe Rexha glammed up her look at the Billboard Music Awards on May 21 in this simple yet stunning black gown by the designer, which she paired with Jimmy Choo heels.
We weren't fans of Salma Hayek's loud Gucci garb at the "How to Be a Latin Lover" premiere in Mexico City on May 3. The pink, orange, purple and red dress featured pale yellow flowers down the skirt and lace-up detailing at the neckline.
Bella Hadid attended the "Ismael's Ghosts" premiere during the Cannes Film Festival on May 17 in this slinky satin gown by Alexandre Vauthier. The pale pink confection featured a dangerously high slit and a plunging strapless neckline, but it was her jewels that really stole the show. See her incredible necklace next!
Bella Hadid sported a massive Bulgari sapphire necklace with her pretty pink gown. The blue gemstone weighed in at an insane 180.98 carats and was set in platinum, providing an enviable amount of sparkle around the supermodel's neck.
We're never known Rita Ora to be a high hit performer on these lists, but her Billboard Music Awards ensemble on May 21 was even more questionable than usual. The singer's Francesco Scognamiglio creation consisted of a white, long-sleeved, jewel-embellished bodice and a completely sheer skirt with floral details that left very little to the imagination.
Eva Longoria got in on the embellished and sheer trend at the Cannes Film Festival when she wore this Marchesa number to the premiere of "The Killing of a Sacred Deer" on May 22. The dress featured multicolored crystal detailing and pretty tulle layering along the sleeves and the train. She also managed to find earrings that rivaled the sparkly gown's beauty! To go with her pretty Marchesa gown, Eva Longoria selected diamond drop earrings by Lorraine Schwartz. She kept things focused on her look by sweeping her hair back in a glam updo.
Halle Berry attended VH1's Second Annual "Dear Mama: an Event to Honor Moms" party in Pasadena, California, on May 6 in this bizarre getup. The one-shouldered dress was just trying to accomplish way too much — including an asymmetrical vibe, plenty of sheer paneling and a thigh-high slit. Yikes!
There's a great sheer moment, and then there's this… Ashley Graham attended a book signing for her memoir "A New Model" in New York City on May 9 in this high-necked black number, which essentially looked like a black bathing suit underneath a beach day coverup. The weird fringe detailing at the bottom certainly didn't help matters. We did, however, like her high ponytail and hoop combo!
On any other night, eyebrows would have been raised by Rihanna's Comme des Garcons look. But at the Met Gala on May 1, this look won the red carpet. The singer donned this multidimensional, multicolored frock to fashion's biggest night, adhering perfectly to the theme and landing herself on nearly every best dressed list.
Taking home the award for the most bizarre accessory on a red carpet possibly ever? Jaden Smith, who arrived at the Met Gala on May 1 in this otherwise sophisticated all-black ensemble. But it was what was in his hand that garnered the most attention… See it closer next!
Yep, Jaden Smith was clutching his old hair on the cream and blue Met Gala carpet — a handful of dreadlocks he had to cut off for his latest flick. His other strange accessory? A grill! Well, while we can't say it was our favorite look of the month, we can at least say this one was memorable!
Fierce! Charlize Theron rocked all-black well at the Dior Cruise Collection 2018 show in Los Angeles on May 11. Donning head-to-toe Dior, Charlize sported a buttoned-up button-down, fringe and some killer shades at the big event.
Not everyone stunned on the Met Gala carpet on May 1. In fact, Sofia Richie flopped in this Topshop ensemble. The ill-fitting dress gave us tinfoil vibes, and we hated the way she half-wore that leather jacket.

Tracee Ellis Ross served up one of our favorite looks of the month at the MTV Movie & TV Awards in Los Angeles on May 7. The star selected this incredible color-blocked Rosie Assoulin gown, which featured pops of pink, blue, green and gold. It deserves another look!
Just as gorgeous from the back! This belted gown looked lovely on Tracee Ellis Ross, and we loved how she paired it with metallic heels.
Ouch. Between the one-shouldered, slouchy, bright green dress and the mismatched clunky purse, we're not sure where to start with Sharon Stone's look. It's safe to say this one — which she wore to an event at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood on May 3 — is getting labeled as a miss.

We loved Bailee Madison's sweet tutu dress at the Nylon Young Hollywood May Issue Event in Los Angeles on May 2. The minidress had a sweetheart neckline, chainlink detailing on the straps and at the waist, and her fun black-and-white strappy heels added a little edge to the cutesy look!
