Brad Pitt reveals 'low-grade depression' battle, retirement plans
At 58 — and with six years of sobriety under his belt — Brad Pitt says he's getting to know a relatively new feeling: joy. In a new interview for GQ's August 2022 issue, the "Bullet Train" star opens up about the "low-grade depression" he says he's probably battled for years. "I always felt very alone in my life, alone growing up as a kid, alone even out here, and it's really not till recently that I have had a greater embrace of my friends and family," he says. "What's that line, it was either Rilke or Einstein, believe it or not, but it was something about when you can walk with the paradox, when you carry real pain and real joy simultaneously, this is maturity, this is growth." As the interview continues, the actor and father of six cites music as something that "fills [him] with joy," before reflecting on his relationship with that feeling. "I think joy's been a newer discovery, later in life," he says. "I was always moving with the currents, drifting in a way, and onto the next. I think I spent years with a low-grade depression, and it's not until coming to terms with that, trying to embrace all sides of self — the beauty and the ugly — that I've been able to catch those moments of joy." He's also coming to terms with his eventual retirement from acting. "I consider myself on my last leg … this last semester or trimester," he says. "What is this section gonna be? And how do I wanna design that?"

Tom, who plays Elvis Presley's not-so-ethical manager, Col. Tom Parker, in Baz Luhrmann's new "Elvis" biopic, most recently confused a bride and her bridesmaids in Pittsburgh in March when he hopped into their photo shoot moment on the way to the wedding, according to People. He also crashed a couple's wedding pictures in Southern California in October 2021. But what first sparked his excitement about the move happened on the Rome set of 2009's "Angels and Demons," when he famously escorted a bride to her ceremony at the Pantheon, after realizing the film crew and bridal party were double-booked in the historic space. "This limousine pulled up, and it was the bride and the groom trying to 'get me to the church on time.' And they couldn't do it because we had all this stuff going on," Tom told Seth. "It was like 'Uh, how do we fix this?' So, like a stalker — you know, 'Hey miss, miss, miss!' — I knocked on the window, I said 'Hey listen, we have a thing, but would you do me the honor of escorting you to your bridal altar?' So we did it!"

During her appearance on "The Tonight Show" this week, Kim Kardashian cracked up the audience multiple times as she chastised her sons for making too much noise during her interview. "I'm hearing kids," Jimmy said with a smile shortly after he and Kim began chatting. That's when Kim turned to look sternly at Saint West, 6, and Psalm West, 3, both of whom were in the audience (via People). "Guys, can you stop? This is, like, your first time at work with me," she pleaded, earning a round of understanding laughter from the rest of the audience. "I hear them making so much noise," she confessed to Jimmy. "This is your first time at work with me, don't mess this up," Kim warned, adding, "Come on!" Once again, chuckles rang out from the audience. The interview then resumed, but not for long. This time, Kim interrupted herself. "Guys seriously, you got to go," she told the boys, who were sitting with a friend named Remi. In the end, Saint and Remi piped down, but little Psalm had to be "removed" from the studio so mom could get back to "work." Kim shares Saint, Psalm and their sisters, North, 9, and Chicago, 4, with her ex, Kanye West.

Katie Holmes has reportedly introduced her teenage daughter, Suri Cruise, to her new boyfriend, Bobby Wooten III. "He is getting to know her family," a source tells People of the Grammy-nominated musician and composer. That apparently includes 16-year-old Suri, who Katie shares with her ex-husband, Tom Cruise. "Katie is having a great time with Bobby," adds People's insider, who describes the bassist as someone "very kind and happy," who makes Katie "laugh." The actress, 43, and artist, 33, have also been photographed hanging out in New York City with Katie's mom, Kathy. They couple recently attended the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of Katie's new movie, "Alone Together," which she wrote and directed as well as stars in. Bobby is reportedly playing bass in Broadway's "Moulin Rouge! The Musical" after a long tour stint with David Byrne.

Khloe Kardashian has yet to address claims she's gone on a few dates with a private equity investor she met at a dinner party. But shortly after People reported she's "in the early stages" of seeing the new mystery guy, Khloe shared a post on her Instagram Stories that sounded like the words of a very happy human. "Sometimes you gotta sit and really think how blessed you are, seriously," she posted in a graphic on Tuesday, June 21. According to Page Six, the reality star crossed out the word "sometimes," making the message read as if considering her own "blessed" state is something she does all the time. "Grateful every day," the message concluded. Despite reports about Khloe's alleged new romance, she recently chimed in on a thread about her love life — and ex, Tristan Thompson — telling fans over the weekend she's "not seeing a soul."
John Mellencamp slams bipartisan gun safety law as 'flimsy, vague'
On Tuesday, June 21, the Senate cleared an initial vote for the bipartisan gun safety bill that's poised to become the first gun control legislation to make it through Congress in many years. But critics like John Mellencamp, who slammed lawmakers on Twitter Tuesday, say the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act doesn't go nearly far enough to prevent mass shootings like the recent ones in Uvalde, Texas, and Buffalo, New York. "Only in America, and I mean only, in America, can 21 people be murdered and a week later be buried and forgotten, with a flimsy little thumbnail, a vague notion of some sort of gun control law laying on the senators' desks," he tweeted in reference to the elementary school shooting in Texas where an 18-year-old allegedly killed 19 children and two teachers with a military-style AR-15 assault rifle. "What kind of people are we who claim that we care about pro-life?" he asked. "Just so you know, anyone that's reading this… politicians don't give a f*** about you, they don't give a f*** about me, and they don't give a f*** about our children. So, with that cheery thought in mind, have a happy summer, because it will be just a short time before it happens again." The new legislation would tighten background checks for gun buyers under 21, but would not make such checks universal. It does not include a ban on military-style assault rifles. As the AP previously reported, the suspects in both the Uvalde and Buffalo massacres were 18-year-old men who legally bought the military-style assault rifles used in the mass shootings, which killed a total of 31 people.
JoJo Siwa shuts down claim she's not qualified to judge 'SYTYCD'
Haters gonna hate — and JoJo Siwa's way past worrying about it. Asked how she handles Twitter trolls like one who recently griped about her replacing Matthew Morrison as a judge on "So You Think You Can Dance," JoJo told Entertainment Tonight that while she's "the first one to hate on myself," she can't abide critics whose claims about her are simply wrong. "Like, you cannot tell me anything that I haven't already told myself. However, when you are saying something about me that is blatantly not true, that drives me mad," she said of the tweet, which came from a user who complained they'd gotten "excited" when they thought JoJo was "out" at "SYTYCD," not Matthew. "I grew up in a dance studio," she continued. "Literally from the time I was two I did my first solo, then I went to be on 'Dancing With the Stars,' now I'm a judge on 'So You Think You Can Dance.' I could tell you about every dance style. Am I the smartest dancer in the world? By no means. Am I the most knowledgeable dancer in the world? By no means. But I am smart enough to be a judge on 'So You Think You Can Dance?' absolutely. … When people are saying that I'm not knowledgeable enough to be a judge, I'm just like, 'Ya just don't know, ya just sound silly,'" she added. JoJo replaced the former "Glee" star on the dance competition show after after he was accused of making a contestant feel uncomfortable. He later denied having behaved in an inappropriate manner.
