Female politicians in Washington, D.C., are taking a bold stand against President Donald Trump.During the commander-in-chief's Tuesday, March 4, State of the Union address, many women in the House chamber wore pink to signal their opposition to Trump, as well as Republican power, and how damaging their stances are to females nationwide.

Democratic Representative Teresa Leger Fernández from New Mexico told Time Magazine that the unified outfit choice was to "signal our protest of Trump's policies, which are negatively impacting women and families.""Pink is a color of power and protest," she emphasized. "It's time to rev up the opposition and come at Trump loud and clear. Women have worn pink in opposition to Trump before and we will do it again."

This is not the first time people on Capitol Hill have protested Trump. During his first term, female leftists donned all-white looks during many of his speeches.Democrats came together once again to wear white during former President Joe Biden's 2024 State of the Union Address to promote reproductive rights after Roe v. Wade was overturned.

Now, leaders are highlighting other issues affecting women across America in the wake of Trump's return to the White House: "Women in my district are terrified and are also losing their jobs with the indiscriminate, inconsistent, chaotic, mass firings," Leger Fernández said."When a woman loses her job, she loses the ability to care for her family. I think it's important that Trump, my Republican colleagues, and the nation see the faces and the pain that he is inflicting on America and on the services we depend on," she continued of recent federal layoffs.

Other politicians, including Nancy Pelosi, rocked yellow and blue to support Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky after his headline-making fight with Trump.
Despite the disapproval of many, the former reality star made several bold statements during his first speech to the nation since he began his second term in January.

"America's momentum is back," Trump wildly declared despite the continuous firings of government employees and rising prices due to his recently enacted tariffs.
"Over the past six weeks, I have signed nearly 100 Executive Orders and taken more than 400 Executive Actions to restore COMMON SENSE, safety, optimism, and wealth all across our wonderful land," he said.
