During a gathering in front of the press, Donald Trump gave an update on the likelihood of peace between Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky."Sometimes you see two young children fighting like crazy. They hate each other and they're fighting in a park and you try and pull them apart. They don't want to be pulled," the politician said. "Sometimes you're better off letting them fight for a while and then pulling them apart. And I gave that analogy to Putin yesterday. I said, 'President, maybe you have to keep fighting and suffering a lot' because both sides are suffering, before you pull them apart before they're able to be pulled apart."

Donald Trump claimed Vladimir Putin is planning to retaliate against the Ukraine after the bombing of the Kerch Strait bridge to Crimea."He actually told me him and made it very clear, he said, 'We have no choice but to attack based on that, and it's probably not going to be pretty,'" the right-winger said. "I don't like it. I said, 'Don't do it. You shouldn't do it. You should stop it.' But again, there's a lot of hatred."

Donald Trump has been doing his best to broker negotiations between Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky to end the war between Russia and Ukraine. On Wednesday, June 4, the former reality star revealed he had an extensive conversation with the former intelligence officer about the conflict."We discussed the attack on Russia's docked airplanes, by Ukraine and also various other attacks that have been taking place by both sides," Trump wrote. "It was a good conversation, but not a conversation that will lead to immediate Peace. President Putin did say and very strongly, that he will have to respond to the recent attack on the airfields."

In April, it looked like there may be hope for a possible peace deal. At the time, Donald Trump felt Ukraine's Volodymyr Zelensky was hesitant to reach an agreement rather than Vladimir Putin being the one to want to continue the war."I think we have a deal with Russia, and we have to get a deal with Zelensky," Trump said during a meeting with the press in the Oval Office. "A lot of people said Russia wanted to go through the whole thing and I think we have a deal with Russia and I hope that Zelensky, I thought it's been so far, it's been hard."
