Crockett Defends 'Sleepy Joe' as a Preferred Leader
During her appearance on The View, Rep. Jasmine Crockett suggested that Americans may come to appreciate the leadership of "sleepy Joe," a nickname given to former President Joe Biden, in contrast to the current administration. She argued that while Biden was sometimes perceived as low-energy, his tenure allowed Americans to "sleep at night" without the chaos now unfolding under President Donald Trump. Her remarks were met with agreement from The View co-host Joy Behar, who enthusiastically responded, "Amen, child," highlighting their shared sentiment that Biden's stability was preferable to Trump's unpredictability.
Here are three more Trump admin insights Crockett shared on the daytime talk show.

The Urgent Need for Voter Education
Crockett emphasized that many Americans remain unaware of the real-life consequences of policy decisions, making voter education crucial.Responding to a poll cited by Alyssa Farah Griffin, she stated, "We've got to do better at education," warning that the public would soon understand the stakes when rural hospitals shut down, social security benefits disappear and essential programs like Medicaid and Medicare face severe cuts.
She painted a dire picture of the future under Trump, even referencing aviation safety concerns, adding, "You will understand as planes continue to fall out of the sky."
A Warning About Trump's Leadership
Crockett made it clear that she sees Trump's leadership as significantly more dangerous than during his first term. She argued that those who assume "we didn't fall apart the last time" are failing to recognize how much worse Trump has become."This is literally not even partisanship, in my opinion, at this point. This is incompetence," she said, strongly opposing Trump's governing style.
In an unexpected moment, she also expressed nostalgia for the era of the Bush family, agreeing with co-hosts that prior Republican administrations at least upheld traditional "Democratic norms."
Refusing to Support the GOP's Funding Bill
When asked if she would support a government shutdown as a bargaining tactic, Crockett was unequivocal. She stated she could not support the Republican-led funding bill, arguing that it would gut vital programs and that negotiations could not be trusted. She specifically pointed to the influence of Elon Musk, claiming that a single tweet from him derailed previous bipartisan efforts.
Warning against entering agreements with a government led by "a Trump trifecta," Crockett urged her party to hold firm, stating, "Y'all better figure it out." Her stance reflected a growing Democratic resistance to what they view as bad-faith Republican negotiations.
