During an appearance on MSNBC's The Weeknight, Jasmine Crockett slammed the Republican Party for backing President Donald Trump's "One Big, Beautiful Bill." She went on to call it a "big, ugly bill" that blocks efforts to prevent future flooding disasters like the one that recently devastated Texas. "The reality is that we are going to continue to face emergencies, especially since as we just got done with the big, ugly bill, they are clawing back those things that would have hopefully started to cool this planet down, because they don't believe in science," she said.

Jasmine Crockett added that Republicans owe a duty to the American people and should prioritize helping citizens. "Unfortunately, we continue to see Republicans decide that they want to bury their constituents instead of actually doing everything that they can to make sure that they live amazing and full lives," she claimed. Crockett isn't the only one at odds with the Republican Party. Other Democratic leaders have taken aim, blaming President Donald Trump's cuts to the National Weather Service for worsening the flood damage.

However, the White House insists these claims are falsehoods promoted by the Democratic Party. Spokesperson Abigail Jackson insisted that Democrats are politicizing a tragedy, saying claims that the National Weather Service was understaffed have been "debunked by meteorologists, experts, and other public reporting."
