Donald Trump supporters expressed outrage after the Justice Department claimed their investigation found Jeffrey Epstein did not have a "client list" of high-profile people.Following the revelation, an unedited clip of the Republican leader's Fox News interview from before he was elected president again shows how Trump wasn't as enthusiastic about releasing the information about the late s** offender as voters believed.
During the early 2024 sit-down, Trump was asked by the reporter if he would declassify the Epstein files. "Yeah, yeah, I would," he said in the edited footage.
However, in the unedited video, the businessman continues, "Yeah, yeah, I would. I guess I would. I think that less so, because you don't know — you don't want to affect people's lives if it's phony stuff in there, because it's a lot of phony stuff with that whole world. But I think I would."

Many Donald Trump loyalists and also naysayers were stunned by the unedited footage after The Apprentice star sued CBS over their edited Kamala Harris interview, citing "election interference.""Kamala should sue," Semafor political reporter David Weigel wrote on X. "As edits for broadcast go, this clearly did more good for Trump than the 60 Minutes cut did for Harris."
Morning Joe co-host Jonathan Lemire said, "This is a rare moment, a very rare moment, where there is a real fracture in the president's base."
Despite the outrage, Fox broadcast the unedited version of Trump's answer on FOX & Friends on June 3, 2024, as well as in audio form on The Will Cain Show.
"Portions of that interview have aired over the weekend on FOX & Friends, as is the nature of TV. What was an hour and 20 something odd minute interview has to be reduced into 10-minute segments. From the beginning I said, 'But I want the whole thing. I want the whole thing for The Will Cain Show," Will Cain said at the time. "In the middle of that interview Donald Trump said more time let's give it more time. In that interview he said let it run, I know you can't, I know you're not in charge of it, but let it run from start to finish. I agree with him. You deserve context, you deserve to hear the entirety of the conversation. So, we have the opportunity today here, uniquely, exclusively to hear the entire interview with Donald Trump. I think it is the fullest context you can get."

The unedited clip of Donald Trump resurfacing comes after he won his lawsuit against CBS. The network settled the vitriolic lawsuit with the commander-in-chief for $16 million. "The settlement does not include a statement of apology or regret," the company made clear."With this record settlement, President Donald J. Trump delivers another win for the American people as he, once again, holds the Fake News media accountable for their wrongdoing and deceit," a spokesman for Trump explained in a statement. "CBS and Paramount Global realized the strength of this historic case and had no choice but to settle."
