During a media briefing, Nancy Pelosi emphasized that she still has confidence in Chuck Schumer's leadership of the
Democratic party. However, she seemed less than thrilled about him voting to advance the Republican legislation.
"I myself don't give away anything for nothing," she snarked. "I think that's what happened the other day."

"We could have, in my view, perhaps gotten [Republicans] to agree to a third way," Nancy Pelosi said. "They may not have agreed to it, but at least the public would have seen them not agreeing to it — then [Republicans] would have been shutting the government down."
Last week, the

New York Post. "[T]his false choice that some are buying instead of fighting is unacceptable," she added.

Sunny Hostin confronted the Brooklyn native over his actions.
"I don't think you showed the fight that this party needs right now because you're playing by a rule book where the other party has thrown that rule book away," she said.

"What you did really was in supporting that GOP partisan bill that Democrats had no input in, you cleared the way for Donald Trump and Elon Musk to gut Social Security, to gut Medicare, to gut Medicaid. Why did you lead Democratic senators to play by that book that the Republicans are not playing by?" Sunny Hostin
pressed Chuck Schumer on handing more power to Donald Trump and Elon Musk.
While the civil servant was not confrontational, he replied, "You've got to fight smart."
"If you have two choices — one bad, the other devastating — one chops off one of your fingers, the other chops off your arm? So, I want to fight and we are fighting. We're going to fight every day," he said.
