Donald Trump is giving insight into his recent conversation with Vladimir Putin.

On Wednesday, June 4, the United States' commander-in-chief had a 75-minute phone call with the Russian president to try to broker peace between his country and Ukraine. However, it didn't seem to go in the direction Trump wanted it to.

In a Truth Social post following the conversation, Donald Trump claimed his chat with Vladimir Putin would probably not lead to the end of the war between Russia and Ukraine.

"We discussed the attack on Russia's docked airplanes, by Ukraine and also various other attacks that have been taking place by both sides," the right-wing politician wrote. "It was a good conversation, but not a conversation that will lead to immediate Peace. President Putin did say and very strongly, that he will have to respond to the recent attack on the airfields."

The update comes after Ukraine attacked Russia by taking a vehicle filled with drones into the region before launching it at 40 Russian strategic bombers.

Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov also confirmed Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin spoke about the attack during their phone call, though he did not clarify whether or not the Russian politician would respond to the hit from Ukraine.

Despite Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin typically having a decent rapport, the former star of The Apprentice recently criticized the former intelligence officer.

"I've always said that he wants ALL of Ukraine, not just a piece of it and maybe that's proving to be right, but if he does, it will lead to the downfall of Russia!" Trump wrote on Truth Social on May 25. "I've always had a very good relationship with Vladimir Putin of Russia, but something has happened to him. He has gone absolutely CRAZY!"

On April 28, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov made it clear that Moscow would accept nothing less than total victory and that Vladimir Putin's Russian Federation would not negotiate unless Ukraine recognizes that 20 percent of its territory belongs to Russia.

"The international recognition of Crimea, Sevastopol, Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhia regions as part of Russia is an imperative," Lavrov said in a statement.

Donald Trump's war against Harvard continues, as the president announced on Wednesday, June 4, that Harvard's international students will be banned from entering the U.S. to attend the Ivy League institution.

International students will be unable to travel to the U.S. to attend Harvard for six months.

Donald Trump declared that Harvard has treated the country with "great disrespect" and that the institution is no longer a "trustworthy steward of international student and exchange visitor programs."

Donald Trump previously accused Harvard of allowing antisemitic rhetoric to thrive on campus. The university then refused to follow Trump's anti-DEI executive orders, as they are committed to fostering diverse experiences, ideologies and identities on campus. Things further escalated when the institution failed to hand over international students' records — including footage of campus protests.

"When a university refuses to uphold its legal obligations, including its record-keeping and reporting obligations, the consequences ripple far beyond the campus," Trump said in one executive order, noting that it is of "national interest" to block foreign students from attending Harvard.

"They jeopardize the integrity of the entire United States student and exchange visitor visa system, compromise national security, and embolden other institutions to similarly disregard the rule of law," he added.

Donald Trump's proclamation follows a Massachusetts judge's decision to temporarily ban his administration from making permanent changes to Harvard's visa program.

"I want to maintain the status quo," Judge Allison Burroughs said while urging both parties to come to an agreement.

Kristi Noem has taken legal action against Harvard: The Secretary of Homeland Security gave the university 30 days to plead the case for why they should be allowed to accept students through the Student and Exchange Visitor Program.

This move was also blocked by a federal judge, though the Donald Trump administration still threatened to take away $3.3 billion in federal grants from Harvard and later asserted that they hope to shift their investment toward trade schools.

DOE Floats Revoking Columbia's Accreditation

The United States Department of Education wants Columbia University to be stripped of its accreditation status.

In a Wednesday, June 4, letter to the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE), Secretary Linda McMahon and the DOE's Office of Civil Rights requested that the college be punished for their lack of action toward antisemitism on its New York campus.

In the memo, Donald Trump's Education Secretary Linda McMahon claimed Columbia was allowing student protests of the Israeli government threaten their fellow learners on campus.

"After Hamas' October 7, 2023, terror attack on Israel, Columbia University's leadership acted with deliberate indifference towards the harassment of Jewish students on its campus," she penned in the letter. "If a university fails to come into compliance within a specified period, an accreditor must take appropriate action against its member institution."

The U.S. Department of Education claimed Columbia violated Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 by not protecting its Jewish students. "Equal access to educational opportunities to which they are entitled under the law," the entity alleged.

The DOE requested that the MSCHE notify the university about the infraction and "establish a plan to come into compliance." 

"If a university fails to come into compliance within a specified period, an accreditor must take appropriate action against its member institution," they explained.

Columbia Jewish Alumni Association member, Matthew Schweber, applauded Donald Trump and his administration's efforts to combat antisemitism.

"Only the threat of financial insolvency will force Columbia to dismiss the hundreds of faculty members in the humanities and social sciences that teach post-colonial Jerkish, specialize in illiberal identity politics and cheerlead for Hamas," he told the New York Post.

In March, Donald Trump and his administration launched a special task force looking into how Ivy League institutions such as Harvard, Columbia and Princeton are stopping Jewish hate.

The agency reportedly took away $400 million in funding from Columbia University after determining they allegedly weren't strict enough with students who were protesting against the war in Gaza.

In response, the school issued a statement which read, "We are reviewing the announcement from the federal agencies and pledge to work with the federal government to restore Columbia's federal funding. We take Columbia's legal obligations seriously and understand how serious this announcement is and are committed to combatting antisemitism and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our students, faculty and staff."

On Friday, May 30, Elizabeth Warren revealed that Donald Trump wants the Senate to address the rising debt issue that the president's "Big Beautiful Bill" could create.

"@realDonaldTrump and I agree: the debt limit should be scrapped to prevent an economic catastrophe," the senator penned on X, as the piece of legislation is currently making its rounds through the Senate.

"Let's pass a bipartisan bill and get rid of it forever," she continued. "But jacking up the debt limit by $4 trillion to fund more tax breaks for billionaires is an outrage."

In the video Elizabeth Warren shared, Donald Trump could be heard discussing how the debt plan could impact the nation.

"I am very pleased to announce that, after all of these years, I agree with Senator Elizabeth Warren on something," Trump declared.

"The Debt Limit should be entirely scrapped to prevent an Economic catastrophe," the Republican continued — despite including the initial suggestion in the bill. "It is too devastating to be put in the hands of political people that may want to use it despite the horrendous effect it could have on our Country and, indirectly, even the World."

While Donald Trump isn't against Elizabeth Warren's approach to handling the national debt, he urged her to be realistic about how long it would take.

"As to Senator Warren's second statement on the $4 Trillion Dollars, I like that also, but it would have to be done over a period of time, as short as possible. Let's get together, Republican and Democrat, and do this," Trump announced.

Donald Trump's supportive comments differ from his previous approach to working with Elizabeth Warren, whom he often calls "Pocahontas" after the senator claimed to be Native American, which was later revealed to be untrue.

"I'm also working tirelessly to end the savage conflict in Ukraine. Millions of Ukrainians and Russians have been needlessly killed or wounded in this horrific and brutal conflict with no end in sight," Trump previously said, according to Mediaite. "The United States has sent hundreds of billions of dollars to support Ukraine's defense, with no security, with no anything."

"Do you want to keep it going for another five years? Yeah, you would say. Pocahontas says, 'Yes,'" Trump continued while throwing jabs at Warren.

Donald Trump is putting pressure on ICE to keep their arrest numbers up.

According to an insider, immigration agents hit a milestone of 2,200 illegal migrants detained on Tuesday, June 3, alone after the Republican administration upped their original goal of 1,800 in January. However, staff members are reportedly feeling overwhelmed by the high demands.

Insiders told the New York Post that the recent arrest high signals a 37 percent jump from the 1,600 people detained in late May. Despite the results, Immigration and Customs Enforcement sources claim officers haven't had a moment to catch their breath.

"We're paying the price for the last administration's open borders policy," an insider claimed about former President Joe Biden's more relaxed immigration standards.

People who work for the agency claim they've had "no days off" and have been encouraged to "not be at the office," but rather in the streets making arrests.

In May, Donald Trump's Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem expressed their frustration with the number of arrests of illegal immigrants. In turn, the officials upped their goal to a "minimum" of 3,000 arrests per day.

"Under President Trump's leadership, we are looking to set a goal of a minimum of 3,000 arrests for ICE every day," Miller confirmed during an interview with Fox News. "And President Trump is going to keep pushing to get that number up higher each and every single day, so we can get all of the [Joe] Biden illegals that were flooded into our country for four years out of our country."

It's not only Donald Trump expressing the need to continue making arrests. The president's border czar, Tom Homan, claimed that due to Joe Biden's immigration policies, he fears the country is at risk of a terrorist attack.

"Why did 2 million illegal aliens pay more to get away?" he asked during a Monday, June 2, interview with Fox News' Sean Hannity. "They could have paid half of what they paid to cross the border, turn themselves in to Border Patrol agents, get released that same day, get a free airline ticket to the city of their choice, get a free hotel room, get three meals a day, plus free medical care and work authorization. Two million people paid more to get away. They didn't want to be vetted. They didn't want to be fingerprinted. Why?"

"This scares the h*** out of me and I've been doing this for 40 years. It should have scared the h*** out of every American what the Biden administration did," Homan added. "Even through the legal process, the Biden administration was bringing people unvetted and handing out work visas like they're candy."

According to Tucker Carlson, Donald Trump's presidency is on the line.

In response to Mark Levin's White House visit, the former Fox News host took to social media with a message aimed directly at Trump: "To be clear, Levin has no plans to fight in this or any other war. He's demanding that American troops do it," Carlson wrote on X. 

He went on to call out what he described as Levin's recycled rhetoric surrounding Iran's alleged nuclear plans — a narrative Carlson claims has been falsely pushed since the 1990s.

"It's a lie. In fact, there is zero credible intelligence that suggests Iran is anywhere near building a bomb, or has plans to. None."

Carlson added that those spreading this narrative are either being "ignorant" or "dishonest."

Tucker Carlson continued, directly naming Mark Levin and accusing him of spreading lies with ulterior motives.

He claimed Levin's White House appearance served a very specific purpose: "to distract you from the real goal, which is regime change — young Americans heading back to the Middle East to topple yet another government."

Tucker Carlson issued a stark warning to President Donald Trump, saying the push for war is a direct contradiction to Trump's campaign promises: "Trump ran for president as a peace candidate," Carlson said. "A war with Iran would amount to a profound betrayal of his supporters. It would end his presidency. That may explain why so many of Trump's enemies are advocating for it."

Tucker Carlson further cautioned that a military conflict with Iran could have devastating consequences — both in terms of human life and the economy.

"An attack on Iran could very easily become a world war. We'd lose," he warned. "Many Americans would die during a war with Iran."

Carlson concluded by taking one final jab at Mark Levin, accusing him of not caring about the potential fallout: "People like Mark Levin don't seem to care about this. It's not relevant to them. Instead they insist that Iran give up all uranium enrichment, regardless of its purpose. They know perfectly well that Iran will never accept that demand."

Over the weekend, Senator Lindsey Graham traveled to Ukraine's capital city to show support for the country amid its ongoing war with Russia.

During a press conference, he reportedly revealed that after he met with President Volodymyr Zelensky, the U.S. Senate decided to move forward with strict tariffs against Moscow.

"I would expect next week that the Senate will start moving the sanctions bill," Graham said. "There are House members that are ready to move in the House and you will see congressional action."

Not long after Lindsey Graham's remarks, Steve Bannon appeared on Real America's Voice and publicly challenged him.

"What the hell is Lindsey Graham doing in Ukraine right now?" host Eric Bolling asked on the Tuesday, June 3, broadcast.

"There's absolutely zero reason for him to be there," Bannon replied. "He's counterproductive, unless he's lining his pockets."

Steve Bannon didn't stop there, he furthered his criticism, accusing Lindsey Graham of intentionally causing a commotion.

"He's over there stirring it up. This is why I say he should be arrested," Bannon claimed. "Either cut his passport off so he can never come back to the country or arrest him."

"He's a troublemaker," Bannon continued. "He's egging the deep state on and misleading the Ukrainian people into thinking America is all-in."

Steve Bannon expressed his sympathy for Ukraine but claimed that most Americans don't share Lindsey Graham's stance.

"Folks that watch this show and do clips in the Kyiv Post, that's over us every day, understand the American people don't support this, and we're not gonna be there. We want to cut all the money off."

The media executive closed by arguing that the United States has no business in the conflict.

"The American people and the Russian people have no problem," Bannon said. "We don't want to fight each other."

On Tuesday, June 3, Republican Senator Markwayne Mullin questioned McMahon on how American students stack up in reading and math compared to students from other countries.

Republican Senator Markwayne Mullin opened the exchange with a pointed question, asking, "What's the definition of insanity?"

"Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome," Linda McMahon answered.

Mullin then shifted to education statistics, asking where the U.S. ranked in reading and math comprehension back in 1979.

McMahon replied, "We were very, very low on the totem pole."

But that wasn't true.

Mullin quickly corrected her, saying, "We were No. 1 in 1979."

McMahon acknowledged the mistake and apologized.

Clarified Markwayne Mullin, "In 1979, we were ranked No. 1. Today, in reading, we are ranked 36th. In mathematics, we're ranked 28th."

He then referenced his earlier quote and argued that continuing the same strategies in education over the past several decades hasn't worked.

The senator gave credit to Linda McMahon's Education Department for taking a fresh approach and exploring new changes.

This isn't Linda McMahon's first embarrassing flub.

At a conference earlier this year, she mistakenly referred to Artificial Intelligence (AI) as "A-1" while discussing its role in the classroom.

At first, the Secretary of Education referred to AI by its correct name, but as she continued her speech, she began calling it something else: "A school system that's going to start making sure that first graders — or even pre-Ks — have A1 teaching in every year, that's a wonderful thing!" she said.

Social media users quickly jumped in to comment on the slip-up — even A.1. Sauce joined in, posting an Instagram photo with the caption, "You heard her. Every school should have access to A.1."

Fox News personality Brit Hume is pushing for Donald Trump to take a firmer stance against antisemitism after a Sunday, June 1, terror attack in Boulder, Colo.

According to the Associated Press, Mohamed Sabry Soliman faces hate crime charges for throwing two Molotov cocktails at demonstrators protesting for Hamas to free the remaining Israeli hostages.

Soliman reportedly screamed "Free Palestine" before throwing the homemade firebombs.

On the Monday, June 2, episode of Fox News' Special Report, guest host Shannon Bream revealed shocking FBI data that captures the rise in bigotry against Jewish people.

"Anti-Jewish hate crimes — the latest data that they have between 2022 and 2023 — [is] up 63%, and there's a lot of speculation now about what we're seeing on our college campuses, how that's actually for some people going beyond rhetoric and turning into very dangerous and in some cases fatal action," Bream said.

Brit Hume noted how many academic leaders have been complacent while their Jewish students live in fear.

"You remember when those college presidents said — when asked about calls for the elimination of Israel — basically, that whether that was violating their codes of conduct would depend on whether they crossed the line from talk into action," Hume recalled.

"Well, there's been a lot of action, as the statistics you cited demonstrate," he continued. "Even though we don't apparently have any fatalities at this point, this was a particularly hideous attack, [a] frightening attack. You know, it could happen in the streets of any American city, with lots of people around."

Brit Hume later noted that prejudice against Jewish people is a global concern.

"I think that it illustrates that this antisemitism is a force in the world — it's a historic force — and it has reared its ugly head in a major way inside the United States of America and needs to be clamped down on hard," he said.

Donald Trump's administration has been taking action against international students who voiced their concerns about the conflict between Israel and Hamas.

"You know, this attack supports the Trump administration's arguments about immigration," Brit Hume claimed.

While Elon Musk has refrained from saying anything negative about Donald Trump or his administration directly, the billionaire went off in the social media updates about the bill.

"I'm sorry, but I just can't stand it anymore," Musk wrote. "This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination. Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it."

In another update, the Tesla founder claimed the legislation "will massively increase the already gigantic budget deficit to $2.5 trillion (!!!) and burden America [sic] citizens with crushingly unsustainable debt."

"Congress is making America bankrupt," Musk wrote in an additional post. "In November next year, we fire all politicians who betrayed the American people."

According to insiders, there are four distinct reasons why Elon Musk is now ripping Donald Trump and conservatives over the bill.

Sources told the New York Post that the tech mogul isn't happy that House Republicans removed the electric vehicle tax credits that were part of the Inflation Reduction Act enacted under Joe Biden — legislation that benefited Tesla.

Washington, D.C., insiders also claimed Musk was upset that he could not stay in his job at DOGE after 130 days.

The Space X owner also did not like that the Federal Aviation Administration choose not to use his Starlink satellite system to help run the nation's air traffic control.

Finally, Musk is said to be irked that the former star of The Apprentice rescinded his nomination of Musk ally Jared Isaacman to head up NASA.

Looking back at Hurricane Dorian — the devastating Category 5 storm from 2019 — John Morales says he now questions whether he'd be able to make the same forecast today.

In a YouTube clip posted on Tuesday, June 3, Morales revisits his previous Dorian coverage, where he accurately predicted the storm would turn and spare Florida a direct hit.

However today, with fewer resources, Morales says he no longer has that level of confidence.

"I am here to tell you that I'm not sure I can do that this year," he warned. "Because of the cuts, the gutting, the sledgehammer attack on science in general."

John Morales didn't hold back, calling the federal cuts to NWS and NOAA "a multigenerational impact on science in this country."

He revealed that NWS offices across Central and South Florida are currently 19% to 39% understaffed. Morales also claimed that in the United States, there has been a 17% drop in weather balloon launches — a tool used in storm prediction.

As a result, Morales says, weather forecasts are becoming less reliable. He claims forecasters are now "flying blind," lacking the data they need to accurately understand a hurricane's strength.

John Morales further explained his concerns in an article for NBC 6, stressing that the country is now facing "a combustible mix of a lack of meteorological data and the less accurate forecasts that follow."

He ended his warning with a bleak message: According to Morales, if staffing and resources are not restored at the NWS, there could be a "needless loss of life" this hurricane season.

According to Courtney Reagan, the outlook is bleak, especially if President Donald Trump's tariffs are enforced to their full extent.

Using an exclusive CNBC model, Reagan and Becky Quick analyzed how these proposed tariffs could impact the retail industry.

"While tariff policy remains in flux, retailers have to decide what to do," Quick explained. "Either mitigate the tariff cost, find a way to make up for it, or pass it along in prices."

Quick added, "Most large retailers are trying to work on mitigation strategies, although Walmart and Macy's are among those that have said that even with mitigation, some prices will increase."

Courtney Reagan used a men's cotton sweater made in China as an example, breaking down what it will look like if these costs are passed to consumers.

"The true cost of tariffs is almost impossible to quantify," Reagan noted. "But if a retailer didn't or couldn't absorb the cost and passed it all on, how much would prices increase?"

Reagan laid out more details, explaining, "Before the April 2 tariffs, a cotton men's sweater made in China cost $6.80 to produce. Pre-liberation day, a 41.5% total tariff was already in place for that sweater shipped to the U.S. That equals $2.82. The cost of logistics and sourcing that adds another 95 cents."

"So put together, the total cost of making that sweater is $10.57. With a typical 65% markup for retailers, that sweater would sell for $30 before the new tariffs."

With President Donald Trump's new tariffs in effect, the cost quickly changes. Courtney Reagan explained how the increased tariff burden affects the price tag of that same sweater.

"Add the 41.5% existing tariff … and then the 10% universal rate [and the] 20% fentanyl-related tariff, the current tariff rate becomes 71.5% of the manufacturing cost, or $4.86, making the new cost the retailer pays to make that sweater $12.61."

According to Reagan, to keep the same 65% margin, retailers would now price the sweater at $35.80, a 19% increase from the original $30.

Courtney Reagan detailed just how high prices could rise if President Donald Trump's proposed tariffs from April 2 are implemented.

"At that 41.5% pre-April 2nd existing tariff for that sweater, plus the additional 145%, the tariff rate is 186.5% for the sweater, or a tariff cost of $12.68, making the new cost the retailer pays to make this sweater $20.43."

With the same 65% markup, that means consumers would pay $57.97 — a 92.3% increase from the original price.

"The biggest flip of the day, belongs to Elon Musk," Jimmy Kimmel said. "On Friday, Trump gave Elon Musk the key to the White House. And I guess he'd better change the locks, because today Musk had something very nasty to say about Trump's big, beautiful bill."

According to a complaint filed by the Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust — a nonpartisan government watchdog entity — on Tuesday, June 3, the leader of the city allegedly accepted illegal travel gifts to Doha, Qatar, Georgia, Dubai, Las Vegas, Miami and Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago.

The Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust (FACT) claims because Muriel Bowser works for the people of Washington, D.C., she violated the law by not fully disclosing how the trips were funded.

"The basic standard for elected officials is honest transparency, which means following all disclosure laws and willingly answering the public's questions. The mayor's unwillingness to provide basic information about numerous high-profile trips is unacceptable," Executive Director of FACT Kendra Arnold said in a statement.

"It is not simply the Qatar trip, but a troubling pattern from Mar-A-Lago to Doha to Augusta National, the District has no record of who paid for these trips or what public purpose they served, if there was one at all," she continued. "The ethics rules exist to protect against corruption and when they are ignored, the public's trust erodes. I urge the Board to investigate and enforce the law without delay."

FACT also claims there is no record of who financially backed Muriel Bowser's trip to the Middle East.

"When questioned by the press, initially the mayor's office said the trip was paid for by the D.C. Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber said that was not true. Then, the mayor's office said the trip was paid for by the U.S. Conference of Mayors. That was also false," the agency alleged. "Yet, unbelievably, it wasn't until a reporter's Freedom of Information Act request in March 2025 that this information was publicly revealed — more specifically that Qatar paid more than $61,930 for the trip the mayor's office was now attempting to retroactively describe as an 'in-kind donation.' As of May 2025, the District still does not have a record of Qatar paying for Bowser's 2023 trip."

In the complaint, FACT also called out Muriel Bowser for violating a "fundamental ethics principle" that ensures politicians and government employees don't accept bribes and donations.

According to Washington, D.C., law, officials are not permitted to receive gifts such as trips, lodging and transportation.

"Clearly Mayor Bowser's trip to Qatar qualifies as a gift and one that elected officials are personally prohibited from accepting. Additionally, this gift would not qualify as a donation made to the District because the donation was not recorded and approved before the donation was used. The District still does not even have a record of it," FACT wrote in the complaint.

Donald Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB) includes legislation stripping states of the ability to regulate artificial intelligence for a decade.

"Full transparency, I did not know about this section on pages 278-279 of the OBBB that strips states of the right to make laws or regulate AI for 10 years," Greene wrote on X on Tuesday, January 3. "I am adamantly OPPOSED to this and it is a violation of state rights, and I would have voted NO if I had known this was in there."

"We have no idea what AI will be capable of in the next 10 years and giving it free rein and tying states hands is potentially dangerous," she continued. "This needs to be stripped out in the Senate."

Democratic lawmakers quickly slammed Marjorie Taylor Greene, as reading bills is a part of her professional responsibilities.

Marjorie Taylor Greene previously publicly criticized peers who had concerns about the legislation, and many congress members noted that she apparently rushed to support Donald Trump without doing her due diligence.

"Read the f****** bill instead of clapping for it like a performing monkey," Mark Pocan bluntly said. "You should have done your job while it was written. You didn't. You own that vote."

According to The Guardian, the bill's section on AI was added two days before its markup, and Marjorie Taylor Greene wasn't the only supportive Republican unaware of the provision.

"I am not going to hide the truth: this provision was unknown to me when I voted for that bill," Nebraska representative Mike Flood revealed after being booed by his constituents at a town hall meeting.

"You voted for all of it," one audience member reportedly heckled.

Chinese Nationals Charged for Bringing Potential Agroterrorism Weapon Into the U.S.

A potential agroterrorism plot in the United States was foiled.

According to a criminal complaint filed in the Eastern District of Michigan on Tuesday, June 3, two Chinese Nationals were charged with allegedly bringing a Fusarium graminearum — a biological pathogen considered "a potential agroterrorism weapon" — into America through the Detroit Metropolitan Airport in July 2024.

Per the legal papers, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers took Zunyong Liu, 34, was questioned after traveling from China to America while trying to bring the toxic fungus to his girlfriend, Yunqing Jian, 33, who is a University of Michigan lab researcher.

According to the complaint, Jian allegedly got "Chinese government funding for her work" and is a member of the Chinese Communist Party. Liu reportedly "works at a Chinese university where he conducts research on the same pathogen."  

During a sit-down with the FBI, Jian claimed she did not know her partner was bringing the substance overseas with him. However, a further investigation found the pair had "discussed the shipping of biological materials and research being done in the laboratory" before he arrived in the U.S.

On Tuesday, June 3, U.S. Attorney Jerome Gorgon Jr. announced Zunyong Liu and Yunqing Jian will now face charges of conspiracy, smuggling, false statements and visa fraud.

"The alleged actions of these Chinese nationals — including a loyal member of the Chinese Communist Party — are of the gravest national security concerns," the official said in a statement. "These two aliens have been charged with smuggling a fungus that has been described as a 'potential agroterrorism weapon' into the heartland of America, where they apparently intended to use a University of Michigan laboratory to further their scheme."

Special agent in charge of the FBI Detroit Field Office Cheyvoryea Gibson also addressed the situation. "The federal charges announced today against Yunqing Jian and Zunyong Liu, both residents of the People's Republic of China, signify a crucial advancement in our efforts to safeguard our communities and uphold national security," he said. "These individuals exploited their access to laboratory facilities at a local university to engage in the smuggling of biological pathogens, an act that posed an imminent threat to public safety."

According to the Justice Department, Fusarium graminearum causes vomiting, liver damage and reproductive defects in humans and livestock. The substance can be used as a "agroterrorism weapon."

The University of Michigan made it clear they played no part in helping any potential terror attack despite people in question having ties to the college. "No funding from the Chinese government in relation to research conducted by the accused individuals," the school explained in a statement. "We will cooperate with federal law enforcement in its ongoing investigation and prosecution. We strongly condemn any actions that seek to cause harm, threaten national security or undermine the university's critical public mission."

Breakout The White Lotus season 3 stars Patrick Schwarzenegger and Aimee Lou Wood are sharing the screen again.

The duo costar in Venmo's new "Venmo Everything" campaign, which sees them dancing along to an updated version of Black Sheep's classic hip-hop track "The Choice Is Yours" and emulating Old Hollywood musicals.

"Wait, I thought Venmo was for paying people?" Wood asks Schwarzenegger as he uses the payments platform to book a car from a rideshare service as they make their way out of a café.

"Yeah, and for everything else," he replies.

"Everything?" she asks.

"Everything!" he responds, sending them on a journey to see just how easy (and rewarding) it is to shop, split and spend with Venmo.

At a record store, the English actress drops a needle on a vinyl record and asks the nepo baby, "Can you Venmo this?"

Schwarzenegger replies with a smirk, "You can Venmo that."

As the "You Can Venmo This, You Can Venmo That" remix jingle begins to play, Wood and Schwarzenegger use the platform to pay for records, groceries, fancy new duds, air travel, in-flight refreshments and more – all as they show off their retro-style dance moves alongside fellow consumers.

They ultimately land in a fantasy dreamscape, clad in all white, and channel Old Hollywood as they close out the dance number — though Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, they are not!

"Hungry?" she asks him.

'It Could Be Ozempic': Experts Analyze Oscar Winner Who Shed Lbs., More Transformed Stars This Year

Leonardo DiCaprio's recently slimmed-down appearance has experts pointing the finger at Ozempic.

"[He] looks visibly less bloated and appears slimmer. While it certainly could be from diet and exercise alone and minimizing his intake of alcohol, it could also be by the assistance of a GLP-1 medication such as Ozempic," Chris Bustamante DNP, NP-C, and founder of Lushful Aesthetics told OK! in a June 3 exclusive, adding that the Oscar winner "is looking great!"

Meanwhile, Dr. Konstantin Vasyukevich — a double board-certified facial plastic surgeon in New York City — pointed out that the actor (he's pictured at CinemaCon in April) has experienced significant "volume loss in his facial features, particularly in the cheeks and mid-face region" since last year.

"These changes are often consistent with overall weight reduction, which can occur gradually due to lifestyle changes or more rapidly with the assistance of medications such as Ozempic," he told OK, adding that "this type of facial transformation is not uncommon and tends to reflect the broader effects of weight loss on soft tissue volume."

Fans have also commented on DiCaprio's apparent weight-loss: "He looks remarkably healthier and less bloated and red in the face," one fan wrote on Reddit, while another speculated that the Titanic alum "looks like he's joined the Ozempic bandwagon."

A source close to DiCaprio previously noted that while he's lost weight before, "this time it's different because it's not for a movie role." The source claimed that the former child star is getting fit to "keep up" with his much-younger girlfriend, Vittoria Ceretti. "She has a big influence on him," the insider said before clarifying that the model was "by no means repelled by the way he looked before."

Just last month, U.S. District Judge Beryl Howell ruled DOGE's takeover illegal, allowing USIP staff back in their offices. When members returned to the building, they reportedly found it in disarray — with water damage, broken property and infestations of rodents.

That wasn't all. According to The Economist, cleaners also discovered marijuana that appeared to have been discarded by DOGE staffers.

Rachel Maddow didn't mince words when reacting to the state of the building — and Elon Musk's overall connection to the chaos.

"So, maximum destruction, leaving everything soiled and in disrepair and littered with drugs," she said on The Rachel Maddow Show.

"And now, because all of that was totally illegal, the folks at the U.S. Institute of Peace will have to repair everything and stand it all back up just to get back to where they were before this whole thing started."

Rachel Maddow's latest remarks come days after Elon Musk arrived at the White House with a visible black eye. Musk completed his final day as a "special government employee" under the Trump administration, on Friday, May 30.

The host had her own take on the bruise, explaining, "Yes, the black eye was cute, but may I suggest that this is perhaps more on the nose as the legacy of what the Trump administration has done through Trump's top campaign donor, Elon Musk, as Elon Musk leaves Washington."

"A building seized pointlessly. Shut down pointlessly. Left to be infested by vermin. All so its rightful owners can eventually come back and have to put it all back together again — for no reason at all. I think that's a better metaphor."

While in office, Elon Musk vowed to cut $2 trillion from federal spending, but he ultimately fell short of that goal. DOGE claims savings of $175 billion, though this estimate is disputed because only part of the amount was reportedly itemized and verifiable.

Musk has since left his government role to concentrate on Tesla, SpaceX and his other business ventures.

Pax Jolie-Pitt needed some assistance as he exited the Chateau Marmont hotel in Los Angeles on Saturday, May 31. He appeared to rely on friends for physical support, stumbling and seemingly unable to walk on his own, as seen in photos obtained by Page Six.

For the public outing, the 21-year-old wore a black T-shirt, khaki pants and Converse sneakers. At one point, he was seen carrying several denim jackets — with tags still attached.

The night didn't end there. Pax Jolie-Pitt and his crew were later spotted arriving at a nearby strip club.

Security was seen patting down the newly legal star before he entered the venue, where the group reportedly partied until 2:30 a.m., according to DailyMail.com.

This isn't the first time Pax Jolie-Pitt has made headlines. In July 2024, he was hospitalized after he was involved in two separate e-bike accidents.

Before those incidents, he was also in a car accident in which he collided with a box truck while driving a Tesla outside RED Studios Hollywood.

Police responded to the scene and confirmed that he was not under the influence and did not sustain injuries.

Pax Jolie-Pitt's latest outing has reignited attention not only on himself but also on his Oscar-winning father, Brad Pitt. Many fans are drawing connections between his behavior and his father's well-documented personal struggles over the years.

The actor has openly discussed his battle with addiction, revealing that he gave up drinking entirely in 2017. "I don't have that ability to do just one or two [cigarettes] a day," he told GQ in June 2022. "It's not in my makeup. I'm all in, and I'm going to drive into the ground. I've lost my privileges."

His past with alcohol has long been a topic of concern and is reportedly a key issue in the strained dynamic between him and his children.

In 2016, an alleged altercation between Angelina Jolie and Pitt during a private jet flight sparked a child abuse investigation. The Babylon actor was reportedly cleared of all allegations in November of that year.

'A Terrible Message': Federal Prosecutor Quits Over Jan. 6 Pardons

The federal prosecutor who put the January 6 rioters behind bars is leaving the government.

After Donald Trump issued pardons to all of his supporters who stormed the Capitol in 2021, Assistant U.S. Attorney Greg Rosen revealed he's leaving the Justice Department for another job at a private law firm partially due to his outrage over the president's bold actions.

Greg Rosen served as the chief of the Justice Department's Capitol Siege Section and secured partial or full convictions in all jury trials related to the attacks on January 6, 2021. However, when Donald Trump returned to the White House, the rioters were set free. Now, he's leaving his government job behind.

"The message that [the pardons] send is that political violence towards a political goal is acceptable in a modern democratic society," Rosen explained in a CBS News interview. "That, from my perspective, is anathema to a constitutional republic."

"It sends a terrible message to the American people," he continued. "Individuals who were duly — and appropriately — convicted of federal crimes ranging in culpability are immediately let loose without any supervision, without any remorse, without any rehabilitation to civil society."

Despite his frustration with the current people in power, Rosen explained of his departure, "I felt like it was time for a change — and a time to take what I've been doing and what I've learned over the course of 15 years in state and federal practice — and bring it to the private sector, where I can benefit clients who are being scrutinized by the government."

Greg Rosen condemned Donald Trump and the MAGA base for claiming the juries who convicted the rioters were biased in their decision-making when the evidence was well-documented.

"The reason those juries convicted — and the reason those judges convicted individuals — was not because of some bug in the due process," the lawyer explained. "It was because the evidence was overwhelming. It was the most videotaped crime in American history."

When Donald Trump returned to the Oval Office, many employees at the Justice Department who handled the January 6 prosecutions and disbanded the Capitol Siege Section were either let go or demoted.

"To see those talented prosecutors be marginalized or removed from office is an affront to the independence of the department," Greg Rosen noted of the people he's worked with for years.

Not only did Donald Trump pardon the rioters, but the Republican leader also floated the idea of financial compensation for the people who were charged.

"A lot of the people that are in the government now talk about it because a lot of the people in government really like that group of people," Trump said in an interview with Newsmax host Greg Kelly in March. "I took care of them. I said I was going to and I did."

"These people are incredible people," he claimed. "They were treated so unfairly, so horribly. Some of them didn't even go into the building."

During the television appearance, Tom Homan warned of a possible attack, stating, "It's coming."

The member of Donald Trump's administration blamed Joe Biden for the reported "2 million" illegal immigrants Border Patrol agents failed to arrest while the politician was in office.

"These 2 million known gotaways scares the h*** out of me," Homan added. "I'm convinced something's coming unless we can find them."

The law enforcement officer called the undocumented migrants "the biggest national security vulnerability this country's ever seen" and claimed America will be dealing with the fallout of the left-wing policies "for the next 10 years."

Tom Homan emphasized how alarmed he was by how many migrants went undetected and the lengths they went to remain undercover while Joe Biden was in office.

"Why did 2 million illegal aliens pay more to get away?" he questioned. "They could have paid half of what they paid to cross the border, turn themselves in to Border Patrol agents, get released that same day, get a free airline ticket to the city of their choice, get a free hotel room, get three meals a day, plus free medical care and work authorization. Two million people paid more to get away. They didn't want to be vetted. They didn't want to be fingerprinted. Why?"

"This scares the h*** out of me and I've been doing this for 40 years. It should have scared the h*** out of every American what the Biden administration did," Homan noted. "Even through the legal process, the Biden administration was bringing people unvetted and handing out work visas like they're candy."

Tom Homan setting of alarm bells comes after a 45-year-old Egyptian national, who was in the country illegally, allegedly carried out an antisemitic terror attack in Boulder, Colo. Donald Trump took to his Truth Social account on Sunday, May 1, to point the finger at Joe Biden.

"Yesterday's horrific attack in Boulder, Colorado, WILL NOT BE TOLERATED in the United States of America. He came in through Biden's ridiculous open border policy, which has hurt our country so badly. He must go out under 'TRUMP' Policy," the president wrote. "Acts of Terrorism will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law."

"This is yet another example of why we must keep our Borders SECURE and deport Illegal, anti-American radicals from our Homeland. My heart goes out to the victims of this terrible tragedy, and the great people of Boulder, Colorado!" he added.

Since Donald Trump returned to the White House in January, he and his administration have made it clear they're not happy with anyone who is in the United States legally.

"Tonight, I'm announcing a nationwide and international multimillion-dollar ad campaign warning illegal aliens to leave our country NOW or face deportation with the inability to return to the U.S.," Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem warned in a February post on X. "This serves as a strong warning to criminal illegal aliens to not come to America. If they do, they will be hunted down and deported. Thank you @realdonaldtrump for securing our border and putting America first."

Bill Maher remains focused on the 2020 election because, as he said on his show, "It's not been resolved. There's an asymmetry in how American elections are handled."

The "Club Random" podcast host explained that traditionally, after an election, the losing party concedes.

"Democrats concede defeat all the time," Maher said. "You win some, you lose some — and they go home. Hillary Clinton went home, Kamala Harris went home. But you can't imagine [Donald] Trump ever doing that."

David Mamet pushed back on this, arguing Trump wasn't obligated to concede: "Look, if you lose a prize fight and the other guy gets the belt, you don't have to concede verbally. It's not required," Mamet said.

Their conversation soon turned to the January 6 Capitol riot — when protestors stormed the U.S. Capitol in an attempt to disrupt the certification of the 2020 election results.

Bill Maher argued that Trump's refusal to accept defeat encouraged his followers to riot. "It was about people who never heard their leader say what every other leader has said after an election: 'OK, I lost. We welcome the new leader. We had disagreements, but now we're all Americans.'"

David Mamet challenged this, saying. "So what? Just because he didn't say 'I concede' doesn't mean he caused half the country to riot."

The host quickly fired back, "So what?! That mindset inspired millions to reject the fundamental democratic principle that elections have outcomes. When you lose, you step aside and become the loyal opposition."

"You're full of it!" Mamet exclaimed. "I don't see how Trump not conceding verbally caused the riot."

Bill Maher further clarified his point, arguing that while not everyone took part in the riot, a significant portion of the country may no longer trust election results they don't agree with.

"At least a third of the country will now, in the future, never accept any electoral results," Maher said. "And a democracy can't continue in that way."

According to Axios' Barak Ravid, the Republican leader and his staff came to an agreement with the Middle Eastern nation to allow Iran to conduct "low-level uranium enrichment on Iranian soil for a to-be-determined period of time." However, people on both the right and the left aren't thrilled with the accord.

Despite Middle East Envoy Steve Witkoff and Secretary of State Marco Rubio insisting they would not strike a deal with Iran unless the country dismantled its uranium enrichment program, Barak Ravid claimed Donald Trump's administration proposed a deal to the Iranian leaders that did include enriching, though only for civilian use.

Per the alleged agreement, Tehran is required to temporarily reduce its enrichment concentration to 3% — which is significantly lower than the weapons-grade levels of 90%.

Although insiders have claimed the nuclear deal between Donald Trump's administration and Iran has been agreed upon with a uranium allowance, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stayed relatively mum on the matter.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer slammed the alleged move by Donald Trump and even created an acronym "T.A.C.O." — Trump Always Chickens Out — to express his frustration.

"When it comes to negotiating with the terrorist government of Iran, Trump's all over the lot," Schumer said in a video shared to X. "One day he sounds tough, the next day he's backing off. And now, all of a sudden, we find out that [Steve] Witkoff and [Marco] Rubio are negotiating a secret side deal with Iran. What kind of bull is this? They're going to sound tough in public and then have a side deal that lets Iran get away with everything? That's outrageous. We need to make that side deal public. Any side deal should be before Congress and most importantly the American people."

"If TACO Trump is already folding, the American public should know about it. No side deals," the Democrat added.

Even conservatives who have been supportive of Donald Trump have come out against the negotiations.

"I don't see them as being good faith actors in any way, shape or form. And the reality is they cannot be allowed to enrich uranium, period. End of story," Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said during an interview with conservative radio host Mark Levin about Iran. "They are a militant Islamic government. Their view of mutual destruction with nuclear weapons is actually something they think would be fine because they think they're all going to go to heaven in paradise if that happens."
