Trump's Signature Legislation Increasingly Unpopular

President Donald Trump's Big, Beautiful Bill is facing backlash, according to two newly released surveys. 

A The Washington Post poll revealed that while a slim margin of Americans support the bill, the majority either oppose it or feel indifferent.

On Tuesday, June 17, a new poll was conducted to gauge where Americans stand on President Donald Trump's latest budget proposal.
 
Just 23% of respondents said they support the legislation, while 42% oppose it. Another 34% said they don't have a strong opinion either way.

A second poll conducted by KFF (formerly the Kaiser Family Foundation), reportedly showed even more bleak numbers for the administration — with 64% expressing unfavorable views of the bill and just 35% voicing support.

According to The Washington Post's polls, opposition to the bill centers around three major areas:

–Extending tax cuts for individuals earning more than $400,000 per year
–Cutting federal funding for food assistance to low-income families
–Allocating $45 billion to build and maintain migrant detention centers

Of the three concerns, the proposed cuts to food assistance sparked the strongest backlash with 66% of respondents opposing the measure, while only 23% support it.

Despite the backlash, Donald Trump has stood behind the bill, which passed the House of Representatives in May.

"This is arguably the most significant piece of legislation that will ever be signed in the history of our country!" he posted on X shortly after the vote.

"Now, it's time for our friends in the United States Senate to get to work, and send this Bill to my desk AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! There is no time to waste."

On Saturday, June 14 — Donald Trump's birthday — the president held a parade celebrating the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army. Some commentators have drawn comparisons between the Trump administration and North Korea: "Even people in the Republican Party were afraid to show up at his birthday parade — the dictator Kim Jong Un birthday parade that he tried to have over the weekend where you saw the video of the tank going by the empty stands and you heard the squeaking of the tracks of the tank. And it was sort of like, 'What is this?'" Jim Acosta said.

Jim Acosta noted how some retired servicemen have said their efforts in World War II could be undermined if a fascist dictatorship were to come to power in the U.S. "There were some of these military veterans who had fought in World War II and said, 'We defeated fascism the last time, I'm here to do it this time,'" he recalled. "I don't know if anybody saw those images, but they were very stirring images, I thought."

When Jim Acosta left CNN after Donald Trump's second inauguration, the president publicly celebrated his exit. The two men have ceaselessly criticized one another over the years. Acosta, for example, recently joked about Ivana Trump's death during an appearance on "The Contrarian."

"How many immigrants has he married? He's got one buried at his golf course in New Jersey! Isn't she buried by the first hole or the second tee or something like that?" he asked. (She is, in fact, buried at Trump National Golf Club Bedminster in New Jersey.)

"Immigrants always doing the jobs that Americans don't want to do!" he joked of foreign-born women marrying the former reality star.

After Donald Trump appeared to sign off on Israel's attack of Iran, Fox News personality Mark Levin claimed every American should support the move. However, Steve Bannon slammed the cable news network for backing this narrative.

"There's an awful lot of people I notice right now saying how they're true MAGA and they're pure MAGA," Bannon said. "I don't think anybody at Fox can possibly be true MAGA and hardcore MAGA and the reason is, to be brutally frank, when President Trump had the election stolen from him and had the White House taken away and he went back to Mar-a-Lago for that year of 2021, because everybody at Fox takes a paycheck from [Rupert] Murdoch, you all supported [Ron] DeSantis and Nikki Haley and whoever else came along as an opportunity to replace President Trump."

The podcast host continued, "If you work at Fox, by definition you can't be true MAGA, it's impossible. We were here, remember this audience, there was a couple of very lonely days, weeks and months before President Trump I think took to CPAC in Orlando and went back and gave that amazing speech that he was coming back and had thought it through in a month and a half and we knew he would always come back. You had his back in the darkest days because you believe in President Trump."

Steve Bannon isn't the first person on the right to issue a scathing takedown of Fox News. During a Monday, June 16, appearance on his "Bannon's War Room" podcast, Tucker Carlson criticized his former employer for promoting Mark Levin and his narrative.

"Now I don't have a TV, but someone who owns a TV was just telling me that he's all over prime time. So what is that? That's not by popular acclaim. That's like their viewer surveys. Like, you know, we need a lot more Mark Levin — less Jesse Watters, more Mark Levin," the Tucker Carlson Tonight alum said. "What they're doing is what they always do, which is just turning up the propaganda hose to full blast and just trying to knock elderly Fox viewers off their feet and make them submit to where you want them to."

During an interview with Sean Hannity on Tuesday, June 17, Mark Levin emphasized how nobody should be questioning Donald Trump's possible decision to get the United States involved with the war between Israel and Iran.

"The Israelis are kicking their a**** left and right and the U.S. hasn't even gotten involved directly. Yeah, so where are they? They're nowhere! How about China? Nowhere! How about Russia? Nowhere! What happened to World War III? There is no World War III! They all sound like a bunch of Marxist Islamists. They don't sound like patriotic Americans!" he ranted. "Let me be clear. This is good versus evil. You're either a patriotic American who's going to get behind the president of the United States – the commander-in-chief, or you're not!"

During a segment that aired on Wednesday, June 18, Tucker Carlson grilled Ted Cruz on fundamental information about Iran — a nation currently at odds with both Israel and the United States.

"How many people live in Iran, by the way?" Carlson asked. 

"I don't know the population," Cruz admitted.

"You don't know the population in the country you seek to topple?" Carlson questioned before informing him that Iran's estimated population is around 92 million. "How could you not know that?"

"I don't sit around memorizing population tables," Cruz replied. 

Carlson pointed out, "Well, it's kind of relevant, because you're calling for the overthrow of the government."

Senator Ted Cruz appeared to dismiss the information, questioning why Tucker Carlson considered it relevant.

"Why don't you know anything about the country?" Carlson pushed.

When asked about Iran's ethnic makeup, Cruz pivoted, saying, "You don't know anything about Iran. You're the one who claims they're not trying to murder President Donald Trump."

Carlson laughed at his response. "You don't believe that," he replied.

The conversation took another turn when Ted Cruz seemingly suggested the U.S. was involved in Israeli airstrikes on Iran by referring to the attacks using the word "we."

"You're breaking news here because the U.S. government last night denied [it]," Carlson said. "The National Security Council spokesman Alex Heifer denied — on behalf of Trump — that we were acting on Israel's behalf in any offensive capacity."

Cruz quickly walked back his comment, explaining, "We're not bombing them, Israel's bombing them."

Mark Levin went off on a rant about people condemning the United States for potentially getting involved in the war between Israel and Iran.

"The Israelis are kicking their a**** left and right and the U.S. hasn't even gotten involved directly. So where are they? They're nowhere!" he yelled. "How about China? Nowhere! How about Russia? Nowhere! What happened to World War III? There is no World War III! They all sound like a bunch of Marxist Islamists. They don't sound like patriotic Americans!"

On June 12, Israel bombed Iranian nuclear facilities and killed several top military officials along with scientists after Israel claimed Iran was building a nuclear weapon. In turn, Iran fired missiles back at Israel.

Despite reports that Donald Trump told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu not to attack the region, he later seemed to subtly sign off on the move in a post shared on Truth Social.

"Iran should have signed the 'deal' I told them to sign. What a shame and waste of human life. Simply stated, IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON. I said it over and over again! Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran!" the commander-in-chief said.

One prominent conservative, Tucker Carlson, expressed his outrage over Mark Levin's stance on the U.S. taking action and slammed his former employer Fox News for giving him a platform.

It scored a whopping 17.4 million views in the past week.
No. 1: 'Straw'
Directed by Tyler Perry and released on June 2, Straw stars Taraji P. Henson as a mother pushed to her breaking point while desperately trying to get proper care for her daughter. It scored an astounding 48.9 million views in the past week, landing it in the No. 1 spot for the second week in a row and making it the most popular movie on Netflix so far this year.

On Tuesday, May 17 — after Israel launched a series of airstrikes on Iran — the late-night talk show ripped into the Israeli Prime Minister with a montage of him repeatedly saying that Iran has been "weeks away" from nukes for the last 30 years.

On Thursday, June 12, Israel carried out a series of airstrikes against Iran in response to allegations that Iranian officials were building a nuclear weapon.

The numerous videos compiled by The Daily Show show that Benjamin Netanyahu has pushed these allegations for decades.

One clip from back in 1995 features the politician claiming, "Iran will be capable of producing — alone, without importing anything — nuclear bombs within three to five years."

In 2006, Netanyahu made a similar remark: "Iran is gearing up to have, to produce 25 bombs — atomic bombs — a year. Two-hundred fifty bombs in a decade," he alleged.

In 2015, he stated, "Iran is so dangerous. Weeks away from having the fissile material for an entire arsenal of nuclear bombs."

Most recently, Netanyahu warned, "If not stopped, Iran could produce a nuclear weapon in a very short time. It could be a year. It could be within a few months."

After the clips played, Jon Stewart trolled Benjamin Netanyahu for his repetitive remarks over the years. He compared Netanyahu's mantra to New York Knicks fans speaking their team's victory into existence.

"Iran's only weeks away from having an entire arsenal of nuclear bombs, says Netanyahu … in 2015," the host said. "Netanyahu talks about Iran getting nukes the way I talk about the Knicks winning a title. This is the year. The Knicks are one piece away, weeks away from winning a title. But they never win a f****** title."

On the Monday, June 16, episode of The Daily Show, Jon Stewart slammed Donald Trump's role in the conflict between Israel and Iran while the latter had been engaging in nuclear talks with the U.S.

"What happened with Iran? Weren't we about to make a nuclear deal?" the comedian asked. "Wasn't our dealmaker in chief making a deal to keep Iran from enriching uranium? Actually, didn't we have a deal before our dealmaker in chief so wisely pulled us from that deal?"

Senator Tim Kaine is attempting to present a resolution to prevent Donald Trump from joining forces with Israel to carry out attacks on Iran without approval from Congress.

"I am deeply concerned that the recent escalation of hostilities between Israel and Iran could quickly pull the United States into another endless conflict," Kaine told NBC News.

According to NBC News, Chuck Schumer refrained from commenting on Kaine's efforts.

"I believe Congress and Senate Democrats, if necessary, will not hesitate to exercise our authority," Schumer said.

On the Tuesday, June 17, episode of the Today show, Sam Rockwell was interviewed by Jenna Bush Hager and his longtime partner, Leslie Bibb.

"So, like, when you played Jenna's dad…" Bibb began before Rockwell interjected, "Yes, oh my God, I'm sorry. I'm sorry for [that]."

"No, you don't need to apologize!" Hager told the actor.

Leslie Bibb joked about her partner's good looks while portraying George W. Bush.

"Her dad has never been sexier," Bibb said while showing a side-by-side photo of Sam Rockwell and the former president. "Look at you two!"

"Jenna, are we going to have to get a therapist?" Rockwell joked.

"We do have the same physical therapist," Jenna Bush Hager revealed. "We could go to her!"

"We do!" Rockwell replied. "And we met briefly and that was awkward. I'm sorry."

"I was probably asking you about your father," she joked back, insisting that it "wasn't awkward."

Leslie Bibb attempted to ease Sam Rockwell's discomfort: "Cookie, you were fine!" she said, adding that her partner would listen to clips of George W. Bush speaking "nonstop" while preparing for the role.

"Did you ever just bring [the impression] out?" Jenna Bush Hager asked. "Like, if you'd go to a Tex-Mex restaurant, all of a sudden you'd be talking like George Bush?"

"Well, I was on Jimmy Kimmel [Live!], and I remember watching that interview with your dad and Jimmy Kimmel over and over again, and he says something like, 'Dónde está Guillermo?'" Rockwell said while imitating the former president.

Jenna Bush Hager was shocked by father George W. Bush's appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

"Did he really say, 'Dónde está Guillermo?'" she asked.

"He did, he did. It's a great interview, but it's, like, 19 minutes," Sam Rockwell replied.

Sam Rockwell shared that his George W. Bush impression has largely "gone away" and devolved into a basic southern drawl.

"Now, when I do [an impression of Walton Goggins], I do George, your dad," he said. "Or when I do your dad, I do Matthew McConaughey or Woody Harrelson. Just one amalgam of Southern people."

Senator Mark Lee mocked Melissa Hortman and Mark Hortman's deaths in a deleted X post.

"When Marxists don't get their way," Lee wrote in a deleted post.

"Nightmare on Walz Street," he added.

In response, Jon Stewart pointed out how gun violence has become an issue across the U.S.

"Turns out, when it comes to mass shootings, one's not too many. A s******* isn't too many. By the way, you can say Second Amendment all you want, but you don't seem to mind throwing out the Constitution when it comes to deportation," Stewart said about the horrific incident.

"Violence should never be accepted," Stewart continued. "It should never be tolerated. But that's for their issues."

Jon Stewart previously met Mark Lee in 2019 during a FealGood Foundation gathering, as the organization was fighting to get a bill approved for providing money and care to 9/11 first responders. Stewart noted how difficult it was to interact with Lee.

"We met a lot of people in Washington. Some were hopeful, some of those meetings … Some were upsetting meetings," Stewart said. "That was the only meeting where we all walked out and looked at each other and went, 'What the f*** is wrong with that guy?'"

When Laken Riley was murdered in Georgia by undocumented immigrant José Antonio Ibarra, Mike Lee gave a passionate speech about how her death proved that the Laken Riley Act and border control were needed.

"He's right to be upset at our leaders for allowing unsafe conditions to happen. That's fine," Jon Stewart said.

Jon Stewart pointed out the double standards in Mike Lee's stance, as he wants protection for women like Laken Riley but not Melissa Hortman.

"I truly want to know why, in his mind, one death at the hands of an immigrant is worth $150 billion of border security, a militarization of American cities — well, just the blue cities. I know the undocumented immigrants in red state fields are the good ones," Stewart said.

"But I want to know why those deaths in Minnesota are worth only a night of edgelord s*** posting. No billions for mental health," he noted. "No stopping illegal weapons coming in. No,nothing. We should ask him why. I bet he's got some stories to tell."

During a Tuesday, June 17, appearance on Fox News, the founder of OutKick, Clay Travis, boldly responded when asked about the United States Representative's claim that America is becoming "one of the worst countries" under Donald Trump's leadership: "Go back to Somalia," he said.

While speaking with Fox News host Sean Hannity, Clay Travis reacted to Ilhan Omar's statements about the state of the country with Donald Trump as president.

"When I see a clip like that, Sean, presumably Ilhan Omar is a citizen of two different countries. I'm not, I'm a citizen of one country, I happen to think it's the best in the history of the world, so I'm not going anywhere, but why doesn't she go back to Somalia?" the right-winger asked. "If she's now looking at the United States, thinks it's an awful place, presumably she's still a citizen of Somalia."

Travis oddly applauded the commander-in-chief's arch nemesis Rosie O'Donnell for leaving the United States after Trump returned to the White House.

"If I hated the country that I was in and I had dual citizenship, wouldn't you go to the other one?" he continued. "I don't give Rosie O'Donnell a lot of credit for anything, but she decided she didn't like the United States anymore and she left and went to Ireland. I don't think the Irish people are that excited. Can you imagine if you're in Ireland and you hear that you get a celebrity and you got Rosie? Rosie O'Donnell? They didn't get Sydney Sweeney, they got Rosie O'Donnell, they're not exactly getting a good trade in my mind there."

"Yeah, I don't think that's a good trade at all. Good point," Hannity added.

On Friday, June 13, Ilhan Omar gave her candid thoughts on Donald Trump bringing in the National Guard to combat ICE protests in Los Angeles, Calif., and his ongoing need to incite violence.

"I grew up in a dictatorship and I don't even remember ever witnessing anything like that," the politician said in an interview. "To have a democracy, a beacon of hope for the world to now be turned into one of the, you know, one of the worst countries, where the military are in our streets without any regard for people's constitutional rights, while our president's spending millions of dollars propping himself up like a failed dictator with a military parade, it is really shocking."

"It should be a wakeup call for all Americans to say this is not the country we were born in, this is not the country we believe in, this is not the country our founding fathers imagined and this is not the country that is supported by our Constitution, our ideals, our values," she continued. "We should all collectively be out in the streets rejecting what is taking place this week."

This is far from the first time someone on the right has attacked Ilhan Omar. In 2019, Republican Senator Rand Paul offered the left-winger "a ticket to go visit Somalia."

The comment sparked outrage across the country, with one person on X writing, "Rand Paul is perfectly happy to buy a ticket to being a Donald Trump-like racist."

"This garbage person voted AGAINST funding healthcare for 9/11 responders. Ilhan Omar voted for it. Appreciating America? How about appreciating American heroes. He is trash. PERIOD," another wrote.

"Would like to nominate Rand Paul as our next ambassador to the sun," a third added.

During a Tuesday, June 17, appearance on The View, the former governor of California gave a controversial piece of advice to people coming to America from another country: "Behave like a guest," he said. The comment prompted the panelists to push back.

While sitting with the women of the daytime series, Arnold Schwarzenegger shared his take on legal and illegal immigration. However, the FUBAR actor — who came to the United States from Austria — made one statement that stunned some of the panelists.

"When you come to America, you're a guest," Schwarzenegger said. "And you have to behave like a guest."

"I just think the world of the great history that we have with immigrants in America, but the key thing also is at the same time, that we've got to do things legal. That is the most important thing," he added.

Whoopi Goldberg appeared outraged by Arnold Schwarzenegger's remark. "90 percent of the people who come here are trying to do the right thing," the Oscar winner told him.

Sunny Hostin told the former politician that according to statistics, immigrants are less likely to commit crimes than people who were born in the United States.

Schwarzenegger doubled down on his remark, comparing immigrants to guests in someone's home who should "keep things clean" and "make their bed." The Terminator actor also suggested people coming to America should offer to do volunteer work, even without pay.

"You have a responsibility as an immigrant to give back to America and to pay back to America and go and do something for your community for no money whatsoever. Give something back to after-school programs, Special Olympics, or whatever it is, make this a better place," he noted.

Despite Arnold Schwarzenegger's controversial take, the A-lister emphasized the need for everyone to come together to find a solution in order to benefit the American people.

"If they really want to be public servants, they need to solve this issue," he stated. "If they want to be party servants and be party hacks, and be tied to their ideology, then it won't happen."

Trump 'Incensed' at Gabbard Over 'Warmonger' Video

President Donald Trump is reportedly "incensed" over a recent video posted by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, which he believes went against the administration's messaging.

In the viral clip, which was allegedly not approved beforehand, Gabbard criticized "political elites and warmongers" for pushing the world to the "brink of nuclear annihilation."

Early on June 10, DNI Tulsi Gabbard posted a warning on X, cautioning viewers about the potential for mass nuclear casualties.

"Political elite warmongers are carelessly fomenting fear intentions between nuclear powers," she said in the video. "Perhaps it's because they are confident that they will have access to nuclear shelters for themselves and for their families that regular people won't have access to."

Gabbard concluded with a call to action, urging the public to "reject this path to nuclear war" and instead "work toward a world where no one has to live in fear of a nuclear holocaust."

The video quickly gained traction on social media — but one person wasn't impressed. According to Politico, President Donald Trump became angry after seeing the clip.

"Trump saw the unauthorized video and became incensed, complaining to associates at the White House that she had spoken out of turn," the outlet reported. 

While he may not have taken it personally, a senior administration official said, "I don't think he dislikes Tulsi Gabbard as a person. … But certainly the video made him not super-hot on her … and he doesn't like it when people are off message."

President Donald Trump's frustration comes after a disagreement between him and Tulsi Gabbard over Iran's nuclear program.

When asked on Tuesday, June 17, how close he believed Iran was to developing nuclear weapons, Trump responded, "Very close."

A reporter then noted that Gabbard had testified in March that U.S. intelligence showed Iran was not actively building a weapon — to which the president responded, "I don't care what she said. I think they were very close to having one."

Amid rising tensions between Israel and Iran, Lindsey Graham delivered a stark message to President Donald Trump while on the Fox News show.

"Be all in, President Trump, in helping Israel eliminate the nuclear threat," he said. "If we need to provide bombs to Israel, provide bombs. If we need to fly planes with Israel, do joint operations." 

Graham went on to pose a rhetorical question about the future of Iran, asking, "Wouldn't the world be better off if the ayatollahs went away and were replaced by something better? Wouldn't Iran be better off?"

On Friday, June 13, Israel launched a series of airstrikes in Iran, killing military officials and scientists in an effort to shut down the country's nuclear program.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has accused Iran of building nuclear weapons with hostile intent — while Iran insists its nuclear efforts are solely for civilian use.

In retaliation, Iran fired missiles, some of which were intercepted by U.S. defense systems.

After the strikes, President Donald Trump took to Truth Social to issue a warning, urging Tehran's 10 million residents to "immediately evacuate."

"Simply stated, IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON," he wrote. "I said it over and over again! Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran!"

Lindsey Graham, known for his aggressive stance during the Afghanistan and Iraq wars, doubled down on his belief that Iran is a long-term threat.

"It's time to close the chapter on the Ayatollah and his henchmen. Let's close it soon and start a new chapter in the Mideast, one of tolerance, hope, and peace," he said.

Randi Weingarten, who had served as an at-large member of the DNC since 2022, expressed frustration with the party's current direction in a letter addressed to Chairman Ken Martin: "While I am proud to be a Democrat, I appear to be out of step with the leadership you are forging, and I do not want to be the one who keeps questioning why we are not enlarging our tent and actively trying to engage more and more of our communities," she wrote on June 5.

Lee Saunders, president of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, also stepped down, saying the party needs to rethink its approach: ​​"These are new times. They demand new strategies, new thinking and a renewed way of fighting for the values we hold dear," he told The New York Times. "We must evolve to meet the urgency of this moment."

"This is not a time to close ranks or turn inward. The values we stand for, and the issues we fight for, benefit all working people," he added. "It is our responsibility to open the gates, welcome others in and build the future we all deserve together."

Lee Saunders' and Randi Weingarten's exits follow closely behind another DNC resignation: Vice Chair David Hogg.

The party was asked to hold new elections for two vice chair seats after a complaint alleged that Hogg and Vice Chair Malcolm Kenyatta had been improperly elected, violating gender parity rules.

Rather than run against Kenyatta for the male-designated seat, Hogg stepped down. Kenyatta was then re-elected unopposed.

Despite Donald Trump's enthusiasm for the gathering, photos showed that there was a lower turnout than planned.

"After all the hype, and money, somewhere around 50 million dollars, it was… boring," Jimmy Kimmel said.

"It was basically a $50 million version of when a 5-year-old shows you every car in his Hot Wheels collection… There were flyovers, there were combovers, the whole thing," he added.

Melania Trump attended the gathering alongside Donald Trump, who appeared to nod off at one point.

"In fairness, that's as close as he gets to being able to sleep with his wife, so he took the opportunity," Jimmy Kimmel joked. "It almost makes me feel bad for him. Almost." 

"That's known as the Slovenian Snub," he added.

Jimmy Kimmel noted how photos showed that the crowd size was small in comparison to what the White House has claimed.

"Turnout was much lower than expected, or as Trump would say, there were 'record-setting crowds,'" he joked.

"The bleachers, you can see, were mostly empty," he added. "The crowds were sparse. There was not a whole lot of cheering for the tanks and military vehicles."

Jimmy Kimmel later joked about conspiracy theories that the weather in Washington, D.C., might've influenced the crowd.

"It's a shame… But the lackluster crowd size wasn't [Donald] Trump's fault, and believe it or not, wasn't even [Joe] Biden's fault! The blame for this one goes squarely on the radical left-wing weather people," Kimmel said before joking that it sounds like the president is "about to start deporting meteorologists."

Cuomo Burned Over Nuclear Stocks

An ethics complaint has been filed against former Governor Andrew Cuomo, accusing him of not disclosing $2.6 million in stock options ahead of his mayoral run.

The Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust has called on the city's Conflicts of Interest Board to investigate whether Cuomo "intentionally violated New York City's disclosure laws" — and to issue penalties if warranted.

On Monday, June 16, FACT Executive Director Kendra Arnold urged an investigation into Andrew Cuomo's alleged failure to disclose his financial ties to an advanced nuclear technology company. 

"One of the most basic and fundamental ethics laws applicable to candidates and elected officials requires them to publicly disclose their financial interests," she wrote in a letter.

"Unfortunately, it is this essential law that appears to have been violated by mayoral candidate Andrew Cuomo when he failed to fully disclose his financial interest in a company named Nano Nuclear Energy," she added.

Andrew Cumo's team reportedly amended his financial disclosure forms on May 2 — the same day a Politico report revealed the previously undisclosed stock options in Nano Nuclear Energy. 

Carolyn Miller, Executive Director of the COIB, explained how the board typically handles late disclosures following media exposure: "Amendments to annual disclosure reports to increase their accuracy and completeness are encouraged by the Conflicts of Interest Board," she told the New York Post.

Andrew Cumo's spokesperson, Rich Azzopardi, dismissed the ethics complaint, insisting the stock option information was already public: "These craven right-wing nut jobs look stupid and should have done their due diligence before trying to grab a cheap headline," he said. 

"This was always publicly available information that had been filed with the feds for a year," Azzopardi continued, referencing filings with the Federal Trade Commission. "We said a month ago we'd consult with the board and make amendments as needed and that's exactly what we did."

Cuomo joined Nano Nuclear's advisory board in March 2024. Two months later, his firm received 125,000 stock options priced at $3 per share, according to the annual security filings.

On Friday, June 13, Tucker Carlson took to X to emphasize how the United States under Donald Trump's leadership should not get involved in the war between Israel and Iran and condemned the people on the right who are seemingly in support of it.

"The real divide isn't between people who support Israel and people who support Iran or the Palestinians. The real divide is between those who casually encourage violence and those who seek to prevent it — between warmongers and peacemakers. Who are the warmongers? They would include anyone who's calling Donald Trump today to demand air strikes and other direct U.S. military involvement in a war with Iran. On that list: Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, Rupert Murdoch, Ike Perlmutter and Miriam Adelson. At some point they will all have to answer for this, but you should know their names now," the former Fox News host wrote.

In Carlson's newsletter published the same day, the prominent conservative added, "While the American military may not have physically perpetrated the assault, years of funding and sending weapons to Israel, which Donald Trump just bragged about on Truth Social, undeniably place the U.S. at the center of last night's events."

"Washington knew these attacks would happen," he added. "They aided Israel in carrying them out. Politicians purporting to be America First can't now credibly turn around and say they had nothing to do with it."

On Monday, June 16, Donal Trump took to his Truth Social account to hit back at Tucker Carlson's remarks.

"Somebody please explain to kooky Tucker Carlson that, 'IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON!'" the businessman wrote. "AMERICA FIRST means many GREAT things, including the fact that, IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!"

When Trump was asked by a reporter about Carlson's criticisms at the G7 Leaders' Summit later that day, he said, "I don't know what Tucker Carlson is saying. Let him go get a television network and say it so that people listen."

Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, who's typically loyal to Donald Trump, publicly defended Tucker Carlson.

"Tucker Carlson is one of my favorite people," she wrote on X on Monday, June 16, alongside a photo of herself and the media personality. "He fiercely loves his wife, children and our country. Since being fired by the neocon network Fox News, he has more popularity and viewers than ever before. He unapologetically believes the same things I do. That if we don't fight for our own country and our own people then we will no longer have a country for our children and our grandchildren. And foreign wars/intervention/regime change put America last, kill innocent people, are making us broke and will ultimately lead to our destruction. That's not kooky. That's what millions of Americans voted for. It's what we believe is America First."

However, not all Republicans were torn. Former George W. Bush White House press secretary Ari Fleischer took to X to rejoice over Tucker Carlson's fallout with Donald Trump.

"The dam has burst on Tucker," the former media liaison wrote on June 16. "People who didn't want to tangle with him now know he's a paper tiger without a podium. His entire career was marked by lurching from one cause to the other with no ideological consistency. He's a carnival barker and a clown. Drop Tucker."

"It looks like Steven Miller got ahold of Trump's phone again," Gavin Newsom's Deputy Director of Communications, Diana Crofts-Pelayo, told Newsweek after Donald Trump took to Truth Social on Sunday, June 15, to threaten Sanctuary Cities.

"We must expand efforts to detain and deport Illegal Aliens in America's largest Cities, such as Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York, where Millions upon Millions of Illegal Aliens reside," the president wrote.

On Monday, June 16, Sean Duffy doubled down on the administration's position, making it clear that the U.S. Department of Transportation would cut funding to non-compliant states.

"The USDOT [Department of Transportation] will NOT fund rogue state actors who refuse to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement," Duffy wrote on X. "And to cities that stand by while rioters destroy transportation infrastructure — don't expect a red cent from DOT, either. Follow the law, or forfeit the funding."

President Donald Trump has repeatedly warned sanctuary states that failure to comply with federal immigration efforts could come at a high cost.

Over the years, the federal government has poured billions into state infrastructure.

In 2023 alone, Washington reportedly spent $44.8 billion on infrastructure projects, including $81.5 billion in transfers to state governments. Emergency disaster relief funding also remains a part of that support.

President Donald Trump's latest threats come amid a surge in ICE raids across the country, especially in Los Angeles.

Trump announced that his efforts aren't slowing down — he now plans to target some of the largest cities in America including Los Angeles, Chicago and New York City.

While striking down the controversial cuts, Massachusetts U.S. District Judge William Young — who was appointed during Ronald Reagan's presidency — accused Donald Trump and his administration of racial discrimination.

"I am hesitant to draw this conclusion, but I have an unflinching obligation to draw it — that this represents racial discrimination," the judge said in his ruling. "And discrimination against America's LGBTQ community. That's what this is. I would be blind not to call it out. My duty is to call it out."

"It is palpably clear that these directives and the set of terminated grants here also are designed to frustrate, to stop, research that may bear on the health — we're talking about health here, the health of Americans, of our LGBTQ community. That's appalling," Young added.

Judge William Young did not mince words when he claimed he had "never seen government racial discrimination like this" until he looked over Donald Trump's DEI-centered health cuts.

'I've never seen a record where racial discrimination was so palpable," he emphasized. "I've sat on this bench now for 40 years. I've never seen government racial discrimination like this. I ask myself, 'How can this be?'"

Young continued his scathing takedown of the right-wing administration and their lack of empathy showcased in the cuts by citing what America was originally founded on.

"I have the protection that the founders wrote into the Constitution, along with imposing upon me a duty to speak the truth in every case. I try to do that. What if I didn't have those protections?" he questioned. "What if my job was on the line, my profession. Would I have stood up against all this? Would I have said, 'You can't do this?' You are bearing down on people of color because of their color. The Constitution will not permit that. Have we fallen so low? Have we no shame?"

Since Donald Trump returned to the White House in January, he's made it one of his top missions to do away with and defund DEI in all sectors of American life.

"We have ended the tyranny of so-called diversity, equity and inclusion policies all across the entire federal government and, indeed, the private sector and our military," the right-wing leader said during a Tuesday, March 3, address to a joint session of Congress. "And our country will be woke no longer."

Trump Floats Adding Adversaries to G7 Summit

On Monday, June 16, President Donald Trump called it a "mistake" to have removed Russia from the G7, the annual international summit of world leaders.

He went on to say he'd also be open to including Chinese President Xi Jinping in future discussions.

President Donald Trump is pushing for President Vladimir Putin to be reinstated in the G7, which was previously known as the G8 when Russia was part of the group. 

"The G7 used to be the G8. Barack Obama and a person named [ex-Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau] didn't want to have Russia in," Trump falsely claimed at the international security meeting. (Trudeau wasn't prime minster of Canada until 2015, a year after Russia was expelled.)

Trump has opposed Russia's 2014 expulsion following its invasion of Crimea, adding, "I would say that that was a mistake, because I think you wouldn't have a war right now if you had Russia in, and you wouldn't have a war right now if Trump were president four years ago."

President Donald Trump claimed that he's not the only one bothered by Russia's removal. 

"Vladimir Putin speaks to me. He doesn't speak to anybody else," he said. "He doesn't want to talk because he was very insulted when he was thrown out of the G8 — as I would be, as you would be, as anybody would be."

While Trump believes Russia should return, he said he's also open to expanding the group further. When asked later if China should be considered, the president didn't rule it out.

"Well, it's not a bad idea. I don't mind that. If somebody wants to suggest China coming in, I think we suggest, but you want people that you can talk to," he said.

While President Donald Trump wants the return of Russia to the summit, not every world leader is on board. 

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz rejected the idea on X, writing, "The pressure on Russia must be increased."

Following a private exchange with Trump ahead of the summit, Merz added, "We are looking for ways to end the escalation in the Middle East and discussing the war against Ukraine."

While attending the G7 alongside leaders from Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the European Union and the United Kingdom, President Donald Trump expressed his optimism about the summit's potential. 

"I think we're going to accomplish a lot, and I expect to, and I think our primary focus will be trade and trade with Canada, and I'm sure we can work something out," he said.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney echoed the president's hopeful message, adding, "Nostalgia isn't a strategy. We have to change with the times and build a better world. And some of you, such as you, Mr. President, have anticipated these massive changes and are taking bold measures to address them."

The Trump Organization — which is led by Donald Trump's sons Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr. — announced on Monday, June 16, that the new T1 Mobile phone, which will set you back $499, is now available with nationwide coverage for just $47.45 a month.

"The 47 Plan" reportedly features unlimited talk, text and 20GB of high-speed data and offers international calling, customer service, roadside assistance, device protection and access to 24/7 telehealth and prescription discounts.

"At Trump Mobile, we believe wireless service should reflect American values — simple, honest, and built for hardworking people. We're here to put freedom and fairness back in your hands with reliable coverage, no-nonsense pricing, and customer support that treats you like family. They announced the phone in honor of the 10th anniversary of Donald Trump's first presidential campaign.

While Donald Trump left the Trump Organization in 2017 to pursue the presidency, the use of his name and likeness has been seen as unethical by critics. That's not the only criticism of his family's latest business venture…

"This Trump T1 phone being 'Made in the USA' sounds fishy," tech analyst Lance Ulanoff wrote on X. "There's just one company that builds phones in the U.S., Purism, and the specs don't match. Even if this is assembled somewhere in Trump Castle, the components are almost certainly sourced globally."

One X user pointed out how Donald Trump's supporters continue to invest in the Trump family brand: "Another Trump scam," they wrote. "This time, he's draining his gullible base of low-functioning cult members with a Trump mobile phone. Of course, it'll be fake gold."

Political commentator Brian Krassenstein noted how Donald Trump was critical of Apple and other American companies for manufacturing in China while his sons worked on creating Trump Mobile.

According to the Trump Organization, the mobile phone was "built in the United States."

"Trump is mad at Tim Cook and Apple for not destroying their company by moving everything to America, so he has decided to grift some more by selling phones via a new company, Trump Mobile, to his gullible followers," Krassenstein shared on social media.
