In April 2022, actress, writer and producer Mindy Kaling opened up about slimming down — and why she waited to do it — after welcoming her second child, son Spencer. "I had my son in the first year of the pandemic in September 2020… It was this almost extended maternity leave. I wasn't going to be on camera, the studios were shut down. … After I had my daughter [Katherine in 2017] I had to shoot a movie like, two months later, so I was very much like, 'Just give me grilled salmon and sautéed spinach. I'm going to eat that for three months,'" she explained to "Entertainment Tonight." In her post titled "10 Things I've Learned About Losing Weight, One Year After I Started," Ree explained how she ended up 55 pounds down in 12 months. "I didn't use a trainer, I didn't do Keto or Paleo or follow an official diet, I didn't eat specialty foods, and I didn't do intermittent fasting. The "True Lies" actor told People magazine that Charles helped him realize he needed to put himself first if he wanted a future and also worked to help him change his mindset. "We all know what we need to be doing, but getting yourself to do it can be a different story," Tom explained. "Having someone in your corner who cheers you on but also calls you out and challenges you is crucial. Charles has been that for me." Now, Tom eats healthy meals throughout the day instead of consuming all his calories at night or sporadically and has "made exercise a ritual," he shared. "First thing out of bed each day, no matter where I am, I'm on the elliptical [machine] for 30-60 minutes," he said. "The kids and I leave for school at 7 a.m., so my morning at home begins at 5:30 a.m. At first, the kids would come out and want to talk, now, they both say 'Dad has to do this for his mental health,' so it's modeling great habits for them. I don't run to food to escape my feelings or stress any more, I have a plan and I follow it, that's it."

After trying a new approach to food, diet and weight loss with WW's Personal Points program, late night host and actor James Corden revealed in December 2021 that he'd lost 28 pounds over the course of almost a year. "For the first time, the weight I've lost hasn't come back. The Bravo star said he hit his rock bottom in December 2015 when, at 300 pounds, he nearly passed out at a Phish concert. "I was sobbing, humiliated," he wrote. "I said to [my friend], 'I am taking care of this. I am so done.'" He'd struggled for years and tried every diet there was — he's said he gained and lost 100 pounds many times over — before ultimately deciding to undergo gastric sleeve surgery. "That, plus exercise and a healthy diet, worked for me," he said. Tyler lost 200 pounds in a year and remains in great shape today. "My body's been objectified my entire career," Adele said in an interview for the cover of the November 2021 issue of Vogue. "It's not just now. I understand why it's a shock." She added, "I understand why some women especially were hurt. Visually I represented a lot of women. But I'm still the same person." The "worst part of the whole thing," she explained, "was that the most brutal conversations were being had by other women about my body. I was very f****** disappointed with that. That hurt my feelings." On the 2021 CBS special, Adele opened up even more in an interview with Oprah Winfrey, explaining that working out quelled her "terrifying anxiety attacks" and helped her, with the help of a personal trainer, get to the point where she was dead-lifting 160-170 pounds. She again reflected on the judgement she got surrounding her weight loss. "I was body positive then and I'm body positive now," Adele said. "But it's not my job to validate how people feel about their bodies. And I feel bad that, you know, it's made anyone feel horrible about themselves. In August 2020, fans noticed that Kelly Osbourne (seen here in October 2020) was looking slimmer than ever in some of her Instagram photos, which led Kelly to confirm that she'd indeed lost a significant amount of weight — 85 pounds, she said. Days later on an episode of the "Hollywood Raw" podcast, the TV host revealed she'd undergone gastric sleeve surgery to help her achieve her weight-loss goal. "All it does is change the shape of your stomach. I got that almost two years ago," she said, adding, "I will never, ever, ever lie about it ever. It is the best thing I have ever done." She explained that she "had to do a year of stand-alone therapy to prepare myself for the surgery before I even had it. What people don't realize is it cuts out this hormone that if you have addiction issues, it stops your craving, and it makes you not emotionally eat, and that was a huge problem for me." She said getting sober beforehand helped and warned, "All [the surgery] is is a push in the right direction. It doesn't solve all your problems… It's not a quick fix."

In April 2019, Ariel Winter, who has always been candid about body image, took to Instagram to discuss the reason behind her recent weight loss.
