FBI Nabs Tesla and GOP Firebomber

The suspect who targeted a Tesla showroom in New Mexico has been taken into custody.
According to photos obtained by the New York Post, a man named Jamison Wagner was arrested during an FBI raid after allegedly setting fire to the establishment owned by Elon Musk as well as a local Republican Party office in Albuquerque.

According to the New York Post, Jamison Wagner, 40, was wearing nothing but a pair of shorts as the FBI counterterrorism task force led him away. The alleged criminal sported dark blue lipstick in his booking photo.
Wagner was charged with two counts of malicious damage or destruction of property. The suspect faces up to 20 years in prison on each count.

Authorities allege that on February 9, Jamison Wagner set two cars on fire and spray-painted other Tesla vehicles as well as the building with swastikas and graffiti.
On March 30, the suspect reportedly breached the Republican Party New Mexico office and wrote the phrase "ICE = KKK" on the building.
The FBI was able to track down Wagner through surveillance footage, which led them to his home. They found an "ICE = KKK" stencil when they searched the home.

Donald Trump's administration used all of their resources to identify the man and put him behind bars.
"Following Attorney General [Pam] Bondi's leadership, Director [Kash] Patel immediately took steps to have the FBI quickly locate and arrest domestic terrorists attacking Tesla facilities — and we're glad to see the latest operation succeed not just in this effort, but also bring to justice the same alleged attacker of the New Mexico Republican Party from February," FBI spokesperson Ben Williamson said in a statement to the New York Post. "Our FBI teams and law enforcement partners continue to do a tremendous job."

President Donald Trump has made it explicitly clear he wants to punish the vandals who have targeted Elon Musk's businesses and any right-wing establishments.
"People that get caught sabotaging Teslas will stand a very good chance of going to jail for up to twenty years and that includes funders. WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU!!!" he wrote on Truth Social on March 22. "I look forward to watching the sick terrorist thugs get 20-year jail sentences for what they are doing to Elon Musk and Tesla. Perhaps they would serve them in the prisons of El Salvador, which have become so recently famous for such lovely conditions."

Hegseth Staffers Fired in Pentagon Leak Probe

DOD Deputy Chief of Staff Placed on Administrative Leave
On Tuesday, April 15, the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) placed its deputy chief of staff, Darin Selnick, on administrative leave following the earlier removal of another Pentagon official. 
A senior U.S. official confirmed the action to Fox News, stating that Selnick, who serves as the deputy to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, has been placed under investigation.
This incident is the latest scandal to surround Hegseth in the wider probe, which includes another associate on his staff.

Selnick Under Investigation for Leak Probe
According to the New York Post, Darin Selnick's leave comes as part of the same leak investigation that led to the departure of Pete Hegseth's aide Dan Caldwell. 
Caldwell was escorted out of the Pentagon by security earlier in the day. 
Both Selnick and Caldwell are now on administrative leave as part of the probe into unauthorized disclosures of national security information.
Selnick's Background and Role
According to the Pentagon's website, Darin Selnick is a retired Air Force officer with a strong background in veterans' affairs. 
His biography states, "Mr. Selnick leverages his extensive government and non-government experience advocating for veterans to position Service members for productive post-separation lives from the first day they put on a uniform." 
In addition to his role at the Pentagon, both Selnick and Dan Caldwell previously worked for Concerned Veterans for America, a group that was once led by Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
Caldwell's Leave Linked to Unauthorized Disclosure
Dan Caldwell was reportedly placed on leave for an "unauthorized disclosure" as part of the ongoing investigation into leaked Pentagon documents. 
The investigation, which was announced last month, focuses on recent unauthorized leaks of national security information. 
According to DOD Chief of Staff Joe Kasper, "The use of polygraphs in the execution of this investigation will be in accordance with applicable law and policy." He further emphasized that the investigation will begin immediately, culminating in a report to the Secretary of Defense.
"I expect to be informed immediately if this effort results in information identifying a party responsible for an unauthorized disclosure, and that such information will be referred to the appropriate criminal law enforcement entity for criminal prosecution," Kasper wrote. 
Leak Investigation Details and Allegations
An official revealed that the leak being investigated involves sensitive issues, including plans for the Panama Canal and details surrounding Elon Musk's visit to the Pentagon, among other matters. 
The leak probe has raised serious concerns within the Pentagon, with high-level personnel now under scrutiny.

"There will always be the people in the rear guard — just like there are people who are still wearing masks [to avoid COVID], you know?" Bill Maher said on the April 13 episode of his "Club Random" podcast.
"Once you start something, you get a certain amount of cult followers for anything, and then the true believers never die," he continued. "I mean, a lot of people would say right now the Democratic Party is still in that mode, which is going to render them possibly an irrelevant party if they don't change."

Bill Maher later urged Democrats to drop their "woke baggage" and focus on "centrism."
Maher branded himself an "old-school liberal," which he claimed is the "opposite" of "woke" Democrats who place an emphasis on identity politics.

Bill Maher later discussed why he thinks the dominant ideology of the Democratic party is flawed.
"Woke would like to believe they're some sort of extension of liberalism, but they're not," he said.
"They're usually something that's quite opposite," he continued. "Liberalism was, 'We should have a colorblind society and not see race at all.' That's not what the woke believe. They're the opposite: 'Let's put race at the front of everything.'"

Aside from his disappointment in the Democratic party, Bill Maher was previously vocal about his disapproval of Donald Trump.
However, Maher — who recently met with the president — called him "gracious" on his podcast.

Whistleblower Daniel Berulis claimed DOGE staffers were given extensive access to the National Labor Relations Board systems in early March 2025. According to Berulis, 10GB of sensitive data — including business information, details of union activities and private affidavits — was exfiltrated from NLRB servers.
"I can't attest to what their end goal was or what they're doing with the data," Berulis told NPR. "But I can tell you that the bits of the puzzle that I can quantify are scary. … This is a very bad picture we're looking at."
In a formal complaint, Berulis claimed the organization was responsible for a "significant cybersecurity breach."

In an affidavit, Daniel Berulis pointed out how rare the incident was.
"That kind of spike is extremely unusual because data almost never directly leaves NLRB's databases," he stated.

Daniel Berulis later told Reuters that he noticed attempted logins from a Russian IP address with legitimate credentials, but they were blocked due to their location.
Donald Trump has been accused of cozying up to Vladimir Putin due to his stance on the war between Russia and Ukraine.

Daniel Berulis admitted that revealing DOGE's shortcomings could come at a cost.
"Unlike any other time previously, there is this fear to speak out because of reprisal," he told Reuters.
"We're seeing data that is traditionally safeguarded with the highest standards in the United States government being taken and the people that do try to stop it from happening, the people that are saying no, they're being removed one by one," he continued.

Trump Blames Ukraine War on 'Rigged' Election

Trump Criticizes Both Zelensky and Putin for Ukraine War
President Donald Trump took aim at both Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday, April 14, placing blame on both leaders for the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, POLITICO reported.
Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump claimed that the war never would've occurred under his leadership. 
"That's a war that should have never been allowed to start and Biden could have stopped it and Zelenskyy could have stopped it and Putin should have never started it. Everybody is to blame," he said.

Trump Questions Biden and Zelensky's Competence
Donald Trump didn't shy away from criticizing Volodymyr Zelensky's handling of the situation, suggesting that if both President Joe Biden and Zelensky had been competent, the war could have been avoided. 
"If Biden were competent and if Zelensky were competent, and I don't know that he is, we had a rough session with this guy — he just kept asking for more and more," Trump said, reiterating his dissatisfaction with the Ukrainian president's approach to the war.
Trump's Social Media Tirade Against Biden and Zelensky
Earlier on Monday, President Donald Trump continued his criticism on social media, accusing both Joe Biden and Volodymyr Zelensky of mishandling the situation. In the process, he echoed old allegations that the 2020 presidential election was rigged.
"The War between Russia and Ukraine is Biden's war, not mine. I just got here, and for four years during my term, had no problem in preventing it from happening," he wrote on Truth Social. "President Putin, and everyone else, respected your President! I HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS WAR, BUT AM WORKING DILIGENTLY TO GET THE DEATH AND DESTRUCTION TO STOP. If the 2020 Presidential Election was not RIGGED, and it was, in so many ways, that horrible War would never have happened. President Zelenskyy and Crooked Joe Biden did an absolutely horrible job in allowing this travesty to begin. There were so many ways of preventing it from ever starting. But that is the past. Now we have to get it to STOP, AND FAST. SO SAD!"




Trump's remarks came shortly after he referred to Russia's missile strike on Ukraine's Sumy region, which killed at least 35 people and injured 100 others, as a "mistake." 
"I think it was terrible. And I was told [Russia] made a mistake," Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One. "But I think it's a horrible thing. I think the whole war is a horrible thing."
Trump Administration's Condemnation of Russia's Actions
Other members of the Donald Trump administration also condemned Russia's role in the conflict, particularly in relation to the missile strike in Sumy. 
Keith Kellogg, Trump's special envoy for Ukraine, expressed his strong disapproval on social media, stating that the missile strike "crosses any line of decency." 
Kellogg, a former military leader, emphasized that the missile strike was wrong and reiterated Trump's commitment to ending the war: "It is why President Trump is working hard to end this war," he said.
Zelensky and Vance Clash Over War and Peace Efforts
Volodymyr Zelensky responded to Vice President J.D. Vance's comments regarding Russia's invasion of Ukraine, accusing him of "somehow justifying" the invasion during an interview on CBS's 60 Minutes. 
He invited Donald Trump to visit Ukraine to see firsthand the destruction caused by the war, saying, "You think you understand what's going on here. OK, we respect your position… But, please, before any kind of decisions, any kind of forms of negotiations, come to see people, civilians, warriors, hospitals, churches, children destroyed or dead."
Vance quickly fired back at Zelensky's accusations, further signaling the strained relations between the White House and Kyiv. Vance's press secretary, Taylor Van Kirk, stated that Zelensky's comments were "counterproductive to the goal of achieving peace for his country." 
"The Vice President has repeatedly said that this war was not justified to begin with and is the product of Joe Biden's weakness and incompetence. Instead of mischaracterizing Vice President Vance's rhetoric, President Zelensky should be focused on bringing this conflict to a peaceful conclusion," Van Kirk said.
Trump's Criticism of CBS and His Campaign Pledge
Donald Trump also criticized the CBS interview with Volodymyr Zelensky, without naming him directly, calling the network a "dishonest political operative" and suggesting it should lose its broadcast license. 
Trump has also filed a $20 billion lawsuit against the CBS news program over an interview with his 2024 opponent, then-Vice President Kamala Harris. Throughout his campaign, Trump repeatedly stated that if he were president, he would end the war in Ukraine "in 24 hours."

Dagen McDowell mentioned "Elon Musk math" after Jackie DeAngelis noted that the American public wants to know more about how their tax dollars are being invested.
"[Congressional Republicans] need to raise revenue, and they need to cut spending," DeAngelis told her cohorts on The Big Money Show. "You can't go and leave, you know, spending at levels that are, you know, costing this country and then say to the people who are already paying 46 percent of the federal income tax that you need to pay more for services that you don't get a benefit from because we want to recklessly spend."
"That just doesn't work. It doesn't sit well," she continued. "It's not part of how people traditionally view capitalism, I think, and they've got to do it. They've got to get the spending cuts done."

Despite Donald Trump's confidence in Elon Musk, Dagen McDowell still had her concerns about government spending.
"It's also the creep's way out — and I use the word 'creep' because they want to let the top rate creep up — the creepy way out of not cutting spending," she said.
"And it's just — the fact that we're running more than a $2 trillion deficit this year, it will come in higher than Joe Biden's last year in office," she added.

"The first six months of this fiscal year, we ran a 1.3 trillion dollar deficit," Dagen McDowell said.
"So if you run that out just based on the first six months, we could have a 2.6 trillion dollar deficit this year. It's absurd. Don't tell me you can't cut," she continued.
"The $150 billion that DOGE has found in cuts using Elon Musk math … it is $9 billion short of our budget deficit last month. … That's how out of control our finances are and borrowing," she added.

Prior to serving as the head of DOGE, Elon Musk was best known for his car company, Tesla, and his work in the technology space.
Lydia Hu responded to Dagen McDowell's comments, saying, "To your point, Dagen, about what Elon Musk is doing — such a good thing for the country to get in there and leave his private job, his private enterprise, and devote his time to making sure our government is running more efficiently, but when he started off on that whole mission, he said his goal was two trillion dollars, two trillion dollars in cuts."
"And not to criticize him, but we're not [there] — he hasn't mastered that yet," she continued. "He's not even halfway there. So I think it's easier said than done."

Despite their political differences, Donald Trump applauded Gretchen Whitmer's work as governor.
"She's really done an excellent job," Trump said after seeing the former congresswoman, whom he then described as a "very good person."

Gretchen Whitmer was in Washington to push for a "consistent national strategy" to bring manufacturing jobs back to the U.S.
"It was not where I wanted to be or planned to be or would have liked to have been," Whitmer told reporters on Thursday, April 10, according to the New York Post. 
"I disagree with a lot of stuff that was said and the actions that were taken. But I stayed in the room because I needed to make the case for Michigan, and that's my job," she continued.

Trump Economic Advisor Shuts Down 'Insider Trading at the White House' Rumor

Trump Trade Team's Progress on Tariff Negotiations
White House National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett praised the Donald Trump administration's trade team and their progress on tariff negotiations with U.S. trade partners, calling the results "astonishing." 
In an interview on FOX Business, Hassett explained that the team — including deputies from various departments — had been engaging in discussions with nearly every nation. 
"We've got everybody in the trade team and even deputies of people in the trade team talking to just about everybody on Earth," he said, highlighting the vast number of negotiations underway.

Multiple Offers and Decision-Making Process
Kevin Hassett elaborated that the U.S. had received "more than 10 deals" with "very good, amazing offers" from trade partners. 
He mentioned that U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) Jamieson Greer, along with Howard Lutnick and other members of the trade team, were reviewing these offers to determine if they meet the administration's criteria.
The key question, according to Hassett, is whether the administration should announce individual deals or present a bundle of agreements at once. "We have so much progress made so quickl," he noted, emphasizing the speed and volume of talks since President Donald Trump's second term began.
Close Deals Before Reciprocal Trade Act Announcement
Kevin Hassett went on to claim that "two or three deals were very close to being closed before the Reciprocal Trade Act was even announced."
He also mentioned that the decision on when to announce the deals would ultimately rest with President Donald Trump, depending on when he felt satisfied with the terms. 
"It's like the president will decide when he's satisfied with a deal and when he wants to announce it and how many all at once," Hassett said.
Addressing Insider Trading Speculation
In response to speculation that insider trading may have occurred in connection with the president's decision to pause reciprocal tariffs, Kevin Hassett was quick to dismiss the notion: "There was no insider trading at the White House," he asserted. 
He also explained that while there are often significant market movements, investigations would be carried out by appropriate authorities to ensure that no improper actions had taken place. 
"When there are big movements in markets, there are people around town that investigate and make sure that nothing funny was happening," Hassett added.
No Recession Expected Amid Strong Economic Indicators
When asked about the potential for a recession later in the year, Kevin Hassett strongly rejected the idea: "100 percent not [happening]," he said, pointing to strong jobs numbers and positive sentiments from CEOs as evidence of the economy's health. 
He expressed confidence that the economic fundamentals remain robust, dismissing recession concerns as unfounded.

Co-host Mika Brzezinski kicked off the conversation by touching upon Volodymyr Zelensky's recent admission that he thinks the American people support him but is unsure about Donald Trump and his administration. The journalist also pointed out how special envoy to Russia Steve Witkoff has said that Russia claims to want peace with Ukraine but has yet to call for a ceasefire.
"Do you think, politically, Americans will side with [Vladimir] Putin as well if Trump does?" Brzezinski asked.
"No," Chris Matthews staunchly replied. "I think the American people find Ukraine today very much like Britain back in the 1930s and 1940s. We see them as the democracy fighting for itself against a tyrannical challenger, an aggressor nation. The Soviets, the former Soviets, now the Russians, I think they're still nationalists [who] see themselves as [having] the right to rebuild their empire."

Chris Matthews then directed his attention to Donald Trump buddying up to the wrong leaders around the world.
"If you look around the world, we attack our most friendly country in the world, Canada. We attacked Vietnam, which has become one of our friendliest nations in the world," he said. "If you go to Vietnam, I've been going there every year to teach. And I have to tell you, it's so pro-American and fearful of China. And what happened today? With Donald Trump seemingly causing issues with America's longtime allies, Chris Matthews admitted he's confused about why the commander-in-chief is keeping close ties with certain people and parts of the world.
"We go to Russia. Nobody thinks Russia is on our side! Nobody thinks North Korea is on our side, or Iran or China. We know who our enemies are, they're geopolitical. They're obvious. They're factual," he said. "But Trump has this weird love of Hungary, of Russia, of North Korea. And in the strangest way, he wants to make friends with our enemies. What is he up to? I don't have any conspiracy theories, but I do not get it. I do not get what this guy's love of Russia particularly is. And to always be always forgiving them."

Kilmar Abrego Garcia was stripped of his due process privileges and deported to El Salvador despite not being convicted of a crime. Donald Trump's administration branded the mistake "an administrative error," but they've made no progress toward bringing Garcia home.
On Monday, April 14, Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele visited the White House and joked about Garcia catching a ride with him to the U.S.
"You don't even have to give Garcia the middle seat," Jon Stewart said on The Daily Show after catching wind of the comment.
"I'm sure Garcia would just grab the wing and Tom Cruise it over here if he had to. But sadly, Bukele arrived at the White House with just the Miami club promoter clothes on his back and a pocket full of excuses," the funnyman continued, referencing Cruise's notorious Mission: Impossible stunts.

Jon Stewart found Kilmar Abrego Garcia's imprisonment — and Donald Trump's and Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele's reactions to it — to be disheartening.
"Can I honestly tell you? Like, they're f****** enjoying this, like the two of them," Stewart said in a somber tone.
"Our president, their president, [they're like], 'I can't do it. I guess we'll just have to let him rot in f****** prison, even though he didn't deserve to be there,'" he continued.

During Nayib Bukele's meeting with Donald Trump on Sunday, April 14, the Salvadoran president alluded to keeping Kilmar Abrego Garcia imprisoned despite the U.S. Supreme Court ruling that he needed to be returned to Maryland.
"I know you guys don't care about this guy. I'm talking about [Trump and Bukele], but somebody else cares about this person, and you just randomly, with no evidence that you'll show anybody, call him a terrorist," Jon Stewart said.

CNN's Kaitlan Collins asked Donald Trump about Kilmar Abrego Garcia during an April 14 press conference.
"You said that if the Supreme Court said someone needed to be returned, that you would abide by that," Collins noted.
"Why don't you just say, 'Isn't it wonderful that we're keeping criminals out of our country.' Why can't you just say that? Why do you go over and over? That's why nobody watches you anymore," the convicted felon replied, ignoring the fact that Garcia has not been found guilty of any crime.
Trump later indicated he's considering ways to also send U.S. citizens who've committed crimes to prisons in El Salvador.

The Supreme Court ruled Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia needed to be removed from prison in El Salvador and returned home.

"Tonight, the rule of law prevailed," Simon Sandoval-Moshenberg, one of Abrego Garcia's attorneys, said. "The Supreme Court upheld the District Judge's order that the government has to bring Kilmar home. Now they need to stop wasting time and get moving."

Despite the Supreme Court's ruling, Donald Trump's administration has made minimal efforts to remove Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia from prison.
"Yes, I think that what the Supreme Court said here in this decision was a very clear message to other judges across this country, is that stop acting like you have the authority to dictate foreign policy and national security decisions that the president is making to protect its citizens," Kristi Noem said on Fox & Friends on Monday, April 14.

Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia has yet to be convicted of a crime in the U.S. or El Salvador.
"This was just one of those examples of an individual that was an MS-13 gang member, had multiple charges and encounters with the individuals here… trafficking in his background, was found with other MS-13 gang members, very dangerous person," Kristi Noem said in defense of the Trump admin mistake.
"And what the liberal left and the fake news are doing to turn him into a media darling is sickening," she added.

Advisor Stephen Miller explained why Donald Trump's team cannot bring Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia home to Maryland.
"We won the Supreme Court case, clearly, 9-0," Stephen Miller said. "A district court judge said, unconscionably, that the president and his administration have to go into El Salvador, and extradite one of their citizens — an El Salvadoran citizen — so that would be kidnapping," Miller told Fox News. "That we have to kidnap an El Salvadoran citizen against the will of his government and fly him back to America, which would be an unimaginable act, an invasion of El Salvador sovereignty."
According to the advisor, the ruling "clearly" read that "no district court can compel the president to exercise his Article II foreign powers in any way whatsoever."

El Salvadorian President Nayib Bukele hinted at keeping Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia imprisoned despite him being wrongfully deported.

"How can I return him to the United States? Like if I smuggle him into the United States?" Bukele said while sitting next to Donald Trump on Sunday, April 14. "Of course I'm not going to do it. The question is preposterous."


"We're not very fond of releasing terrorists," Bukele replied after a journalist asked if Garcia would be freed in El Salvador.

In celebration of the Buckeyes defeating the Notre Dame Irish in the College Football Playoff in January, President Donald Trump gave a speech before the team's coach, Ryan Day, presented the Republican leader with a personalized jersey and a helmet.
Before the group stood together for a group photo, J.D. Vance walked over to the trophy, which is when chaos ensued.

When J.D. Vance went to pick up the gold statue, the top detached from its stand. Luckily, one team member caught the first half of the trophy. However, the lower part smashed to the ground.
"Didn't want anyone after Ohio State to get the trophy, so I decided to break it," the second-in-command jokingly penned on X hours after the public mishap.

Social media went wild poking fun at J.D. Vance. "Our precious trophy hereby disowns his clown a** on behalf of our beloved team and great state," one X user wrote below a clip of the moment.
"Moral of the story is that everything these guys touch turns to s*** almost instantly," another person added.
"J.D. Vance is cursed for life," a third chimed in.

J.D. Vance has also been making headlines for another reason. He recently sat down for an interview with UnHerd to address his infamous meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in the Oval Office.
"I think it's sort of absurd for Zelensky to tell the (American) government, which is currently keeping his entire government and war effort together, that we are somehow on the side of the Russians," the right-winger said while adding Zelensky's attitude toward the U.S. "is certainly not productive."

During the gathering, Kaitlan Collins pressed Donald Trump about the return of Maryland resident Kilmar Abrego Garcia after he was mistakenly sent to El Salvador. "You said if the Supreme Court said someone needed to be returned, you'd abide by that," the left-leaning journalist asked.

When the media personality asked the businessman if he believed Russian President Vladimir Putin wanted peace, Trump became irritated and went off on a tangent about former President Joe Biden's handling of the war in Ukraine.
"This should have been done by Biden years ago. This should have never been allowed to happen," he lamented. Trump then joked that Putin was a "friend of CNN."
"That's why nobody watches CNN anymore — because they have no credibility," he added.

Trump Defies Supreme Court Order on Abrego Garcia's Return
President Donald Trump and his administration have refused to comply with a Supreme Court order that mandates the return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, an immigrant wrongly sent to a Salvadoran prison, HuffPost reported. 
In an order issued on Friday, April 11, the Supreme Court unanimously declared that the Trump administration must "facilitate" Garcia's release from custody in El Salvador and ensure his case is handled as if he had not been improperly sent to the country.

The Trump Administration's Defiance of the Court's Ruling
Despite the clear directive from the Supreme Court, the Donald Trump administration has attempted to spin the decision as a victory for them, falsely claiming that the court ruled "in our favor." 
During a meeting with Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele, Trump asserted that the court had decided in his administration's favor. 
Attorney General Pam Bondi further misrepresented the ruling, stating that the only requirement was for the administration to "provide a plane" if Bukele chose to release Kilmar Abrego Garcia, even though this was not the case according to the Supreme Court's decision.
Abrego Garcia's Detention and the Legal Dispute
Kilmar Abrego Garcia was wrongfully removed to El Salvador in March 2023, along with other immigrants, despite the fact that an immigration judge found his testimony credible and granted him withholding removal status. 
The judge had ruled that Garcia was not a member of the MS-13 gang, a claim made against him in 2019 that was never substantiated. 
The administration ignored this ruling and sent him to the Salvadoran prison CECOT, despite the legal status that prevented his deportation. Lawyers for the Department of Justice admitted in court that Abrego Garcia's removal was a mistake, yet they have continued to deny any responsibility to bring him back.
The Administration's False Statements and New Allegations
Since the Supreme Court ruling, Donald Trump's second administration has refused to provide basic information regarding Kilmar Abrego Garcia's location and what steps are being taken to comply with the court's order. 
On Saturday, April 12, the administration reported that Garcia was still in CECOT but failed to answer questions about his status and the administration's actions. 
In a new claim, the administration argued that Garcia was no longer eligible for withholding removal because of his alleged gang affiliation, even though this accusation was previously disproven by the courts. This new assertion contradicts the findings of the original trial and is a clear attempt to evade compliance with the court's order.
Implications of Defying the Court's Ruling
The Donald Trump administration's refusal to comply with the Supreme Court's order highlights the broader issue of executive overreach and defiance of the judiciary. 
By redefining the meaning of "facilitate" in a way that avoids the court's original intent, the administration is pushing the boundaries of executive power. The court's ruling explicitly ordered the administration to "facilitate" Kilmar Abrego Garcia's return to the U.S. and ensure due process. 
However, the administration has instead chosen to reinterpret this as merely removing obstacles to his return, a stance that undermines the rule of law.
If this defiance is allowed to stand, it could set a dangerous precedent for future cases. The administration's actions suggest that any U.S. citizen or immigrant can be detained and sent to a foreign country without due process, based solely on unsubstantiated accusations.

The fractures in the Democratic party began to show after former President Joe Biden reportedly claimed Nancy Pelosi spearheaded pushing him out of the 2024 race.
"As long as Nancy takes a breath, she is going to do what she wants to do," former mayor of San Francisco Willie Brown told the New York Post. "She's the heart and soul of the Democratic Party, particularly for Californians."

According to insiders, current House minority leader Hakeem Jeffries is persuading people on the left to start thinking about who the party's new face should be. However, Nancy Pelosi isn't eager to retire yet.
"Hakeem wants her out," a source close to the politicians alleged to The Post. "Nancy has her hand in every decision he makes as leader. She just can't help herself."
Despite the rumors of tension, a spokesperson for Jeffries said in a statement, "Leader Jeffries has repeatedly and publicly made clear that he and House Democrats are proud to stand on the historic shoulders of Nancy D'Alesandro Pelosi."

Younger Democrats have been vocal about how they feel like Nancy Pelosi is out of touch with the true needs of people on the left. Saikat Chakrabarti — who will be going up against the longtime politician in the Democratic primary to represent California's 11th congressional district — has been upfront about how he thinks she's no longer fit for the job.
"I really feel like the Democrats actually need to become a party that's fighting tooth and nail for the working class and middle class right now," Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's former chief of staff explained of Pelosi during an interview with Rolling Stone. "She basically made the case for how the Democrats don't really need to change. You know, that they ran a great race, did their best and nothing needs to change. That was the first warning sign to me."

Political hopeful Jake Rakov — who is running for a seat in Southern California — expressed his unhappiness with how Nancy Pelosi is currently leading the Democratic Party.
"I am running because the Democratic Party needs a new generation to step up," he said in a statement to the New York Post. "Nancy Pelosi has been there for a great long time and she has done amazing things, but right now we need new energy for Congress."

Despite being in her 80's, Nancy Pelosi has continued to lead her California district for over 30 years. When announcing she would run again in 2024 — where she secured a victory — she said, "Now more than ever our city needs us to advance San Francisco values and further our recovery."
"Our country needs America to show the world that our flag is still there, with liberty and justice for ALL. That is why I am running for reelection — and respectfully ask for your vote," Pelosi requested.

Trump Suggests Deporting U.S. Citizens to Salvadoran Prisons
During a meeting with El Salvador's President Nayib Bukele on Monday, April 14, President Donald Trump proposed a controversial idea: sending American citizens — particularly violent criminals — to prisons in El Salvador. 
Trump suggested that Bukele build "five more" facilities to accommodate U.S. criminals, saying, "Home-growns are next. The home-growns. You gotta build about five more places. It's not big enough," prompting laughter from administration officials in the Oval Office.

Trump's Long-Standing Idea to Deport U.S. Citizens
This idea is not necessarily new for Donald Trump, who has previously discussed the possibility of sending U.S. citizens to foreign prisons, in addition to deporting criminal migrant gang members to the maximum-security Terrorism Confinement Center (CECOT) under the 1798 Alien Enemies Act, the New York Post reported. 
On Monday, Trump confirmed that he had tasked Attorney General Pam Bondi with investigating the legal avenues for deporting U.S. citizens. "If it's a home-grown criminal, I have no problem with that," Trump remarked, adding that Bondi is currently reviewing the laws.
Trump's Remarks on Violent Criminals
Donald Trump was clear about the type of individuals he was referring to in his comments. When asked about his plan by reporters, he explained, "I'm talking about violent people, I'm talking about really bad people." 
He emphasized that his focus is on criminals who've committed heinous acts: "If they're criminals and if they hit people with baseball bats over their head that happen to be 90 years old and if — if they r*** 87-year-old women in Coney Island, Brooklyn, yeah, yeah, that includes them," Trump said.
He dismissed the idea of special categories for certain individuals, stating, "What do you think, there's a special category of person? They're as bad as anybody that comes in."
Leavitt Confirms Trump's Deportation Discussion
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt later confirmed that President Donald Trump had been publicly and privately considering the idea of deporting violent repeat offenders to El Salvador. 
"The president has said if it's legal, if there's a legal pathway to do it — he's not sure we are not sure if there is," Leavitt explained. "It's an idea that he's floated and has discussed very publicly."
Trump's Previous Statements on Sending Criminals Abroad
On Sunday, April 13, Donald Trump expressed his support for sending violent criminals to the Salvadoran prison system, stating that he would be "honored" to send "20-time wiseguys who push people into subways" to the Latin American mega-prison. 
His comments reportedly reflect his broader stance on dealing with violent criminals through more extreme measures, although legal and logistical challenges remain unclear.

The pop star and the broadcast journalist were joined by film producer Kerianne Flynn, philanthropist Lauren Sanchez, former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe and bioastronautics research scientist Amanda Nguyen for an eight-minute trip to the edge of space in a New Shepard rocket that launched from Blue Origin's base in West Texas. It was the first all-female trip to space since 1963.

"He's dead serious that Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon," Pete Hegseth told Fox News' Sunday Morning Futures on Sunday, April 13. "He's said that for 20 years, he's been consistent, that is clear."
"He's dead serious that he wants it done at the negotiating table, he wants it done peacefully, and that's why he's going straight to these talks, he's set that deadline," he added.

Donald Trump's approach to diplomacy has been criticized, but Pete Hegseth confirmed his boss has a clear vision for the United States' relationship with Iran.
"He's also dead serious that if we can't figure this out at the negotiating table, then there are other options to include my department to ensure that Iran never has a nuclear bomb," Hegseth said in reference to a potential conflict between the two countries.

Pete Hegseth stressed that Donald Trump's administration wants to prioritize peace.
"We hope we never get there, but what we're doing with the Houthis [in Yemen] and what we're doing in the region, we've shown a capability to go far, to go deep, and to go big," he said.
"We don't want to do that, but if we have to, we will to prevent the nuclear bomb in Iran's hands," Hegseth added.

Donald Trump explained his hopes for Iran a couple days earlier.
"I want Iran to be a wonderful, great, happy country, but they can't have a nuclear weapon," he said on Friday, April 11, while flying to Florida on Air Force One.
Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has seemed reluctant to create a deal with the U.S. despite his correspondence with the Trump administration.

Justice Department Floats Reimbursing January 6 Rioters

According to court filings, the Justice Department (DOJ) hinted that some people who allegedly committed crimes on January 6, 2021, could be entitled to getting their money back after paying restitution for the damage they caused to the government building.

According to a legal document reviewed by The Hill, a defendant filed a request in February to be reimbursed for the restitution they paid. On Tuesday, April 8, Assistant U.S. Attorney Adam Dreher stated that the rioter "is entitled to the return of those funds." 
During the attack on the Capitol, the insurrectionists reportedly caused $3 million in damage. The alleged criminals were ordered to hand over $500 if found guilty of a misdemeanor or $2,000 if convicted of a felony.

In January 2024, current U.S. Attorney and Donald Trump's top prosecutor Ed Martin made it clear he thought the rioters should be given their money back after being punished. "We should have reparations for them," the lawyer explained, according to Politico. "They should get a big pot of money."
Martin has openly called January 6, 2021, a "day of love." He represented many of the people who allegedly assaulted police officers during the attack.

Donald Trump has been extremely outspoken about wanting to make sure the rioters are compensated. During a Tuesday, March 25, interview with Newsmax host Greg Kelly, the businessman said there were talks about ensuring the defendants are paid back.
"A lot of the people that are in the government now talk about it because a lot of the people in government really like that group of people," the president said. "I took care of them. I said I was going to and I did. These people are incredible people. They were treated so unfairly, so horribly. Some of them didn't even go into the building."

Donald Trump also vowed to investigate the death of Ashli Babbitt — who was shot and killed by U.S. Capitol Police Lt. Michael Byrd during the siege.
"Ashli Babbitt was a really good person who was a big MAGA fan, Trump fan. And she was innocently standing there — they even say trying to sort of hold back the crowd. And a man did something to her that was unthinkable when he shot her," he said.

Anthony Constantino posted his lavish gift details on X.
"Sticker Mule CEO and former NY-21 Congressional candidate Anthony Constantino gave President Donald Trump a gift that will now be a permanent fixture at his Trump International Golf Club," the businessman wrote on Saturday, April 12.
"Trump, with Constantino at his side, gleamed with pride after seeing the seven-foot, bronze monument for the first time on Saturday morning," he continued. "It sits atop a stone pedestal with Anthony Constantino's name engraved on it."

Anthony Constantino frequents Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort and often boasts about his relationship with the real estate tycoon.
"'The President was in a happy, joking mood which was great to see,' said Constantino, who is also a member of Trump's Mar-a-Lago," the former congressional candidate quoted himself.
"President Trump and Constantino met at the monument before the President went out to play a round of golf," the aspiring politician continued. "They were joined by special guests Roger Stone, who's become an advisor and friend to Constantino, as well as Bo Loudon a friend of Barron Trump."

Mar-a-Lago guests will now be able to see the artwork that honors Donald Trump's signature pose.
"The iconic statue, named 'The Defiance Monument,' is prominently placed between the Trump International clubhouse and the first hole of the 27-hole golf course," Anthony Constantino shared.
"It's prominently visible for all of members to see. 'I was shocked to be stopped by the CEO of one of my competitors, who loved the monument, and was golfing while I unveiled it. I won't say who to protect them from the far left hate I've had to deal with,'" Constantino continued, again quoting himself.

"The unveiling of 'The Defiance Monument' caps a two-day trip for Constantino that started on Friday night with dinner at Mar-a-Lago," the aspiring politician stated.
"Constantino dined with Roger Stone at a table across from the President and Elon Musk," he continued. "During dinner, the President called Mr. Stone 'the greatest political strategist of all time' in a conversation with Elon Musk."
"It was a great night, and I have to say, I feel lucky to have Roger Stone as my tour guide to Mar-a-Lago royalty," he added.

"NOBODY is getting 'off the hook,'" Donald Trump wrote on Truth Social, disputing ongoing rumors about the tariffs on iPhones and other Chinese-made devices.
"There was no tariff 'exception' announced on Friday. These products are subject to the existing 20% fentanyl tariffs and they are just moving to a different tariff 'bucket,'" he continued. "We are taking a look at Semiconductors and the WHOLE ELECTRONICS SUPPLY CHAIN in the upcoming National Security Tariff Investigations."

Following Donald Trump's clarification, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick sat down with ABC News' This Week on Sunday, April 13, and confirmed technology coming from China will be subjected to another round of tariffs.
"So what he's doing is he's saying they're exempt from the reciprocal tariffs, but they're included in the semiconductor tariffs, which are coming in probably a month or two. So these are coming soon," he saud. "All those products are going to come under semiconductors and they're going to have a special focus type of tariff to make sure that those products get restored."

On Wednesday, April 9, Donald Trump rolled back tariffs for many other countries around the world.
"Conversely and based on the fact that more than 75 Countries have called Representatives of the United States, including the Departments of Commerce, Treasury and the USTR, to negotiate a solution to the subjects being discussed relative to trade, trade barriers, tariffs, currency manipulation and non-monetary tariffs and that these Countries have not, at my strong suggestion, retaliated in any way, shape, or form against the United States, I have authorized a 90 day PAUSE and a substantially lowered Reciprocal Tariff during this period, of 10%, also effective immediately," he announced in a Truth Social post.

While Donald Trump may have backtracked on duties for some countries, he doubled down on the taxes on goods from China after they issued retaliatory tariffs.
"Based on the lack of respect that China has shown to the world's markets, I am hereby raising the tariff charged to China by the United States of America to 125%, effective immediately. At some point, hopefully in the near future, China will realize that the days of ripping off the U.S.A. and other countries, is no longer sustainable or acceptable," the right-wing leader said in the social media update.

"President Trump is going to run for a third term," Bannon promised. "And President Trump is going to be elected again. On the afternoon of January 20th, 2029, he's going to be President of the United States."

According to The New York Times, sources close to Kamala Harris say she's considering starting a political think tank to generate future generations of change makers.
"One possibility: establishing an institute for policy and ideas," an insider claimed. "Brian Nelson, an adviser to Ms. Harris since she was California's attorney general, has broached the idea with several universities, including Howard and Stanford. But some allies have noted that raising money for such a center could, depending on the donors, create liabilities in future races."

"I have no choice, because I've had elected officials and I'm not going to give their names, elected officials coming up to me. I've had folks who are pundits come up to me. I've had folks that got a lot of money, billionaires and others that have talked to me about exploratory committees and things of that nature," Stephen A. Smith explained to anchor Jonathan Karl.
Despite the requests, the television personality said, "I'm not a politician. I've never had a desire to be a politician."
However, because of the number of people asking him to get into the political world, he isn't completely dismissing the situation. "Here's the reality: People, literally people, have walked up to me, including my own pastor, for crying out loud, who has said to me, 'You don't know what God has planned for you. At least show the respect to the people who believe in you, who respect you, who believe that you can make a difference in this country, to leave the door open for any possibilities some to three years down the line.' And that's what I've decided to do," he added.

While Stephen A. Smith has been critical of the Democratic party, he's also condemned many aspects of Donald Trump's leadership.
"I don't like what I'm seeing, but I'm not surprised. I mean, this whole tariff war situation is utterly ridiculous. I mean, my attitude was, is that he should have immediately targeted China and not every nation on the planet, for crying out loud, just throwing tariffs at everybody," the sports radio host noted.
He added, "Ultimately, he dialed that back, as we saw over the last few days and folks on the right are up in arms. Basically, I should say, I mean positively, essentially saying that that was the plan all along. There doesn't appear to be a plan. Let's be, let's be very, very clear about that. It seems to be a bit very haphazard and you know it's just thrown against the wall to see what will stick. But in the end, you know, what you have to applaud them for is for trying something."

Since Donald Trump secured victory in the 2024 election, Stephen A. Smith has been candid about his critiques of the left and their current lack of leadership.
"They talk and they talk and they talk. But what can they do? They position themselves to do absolutely nothing. I didn't hear anything about tariffs from the Democrats before the election, Trump had been preaching about this for the longest time," the media personality said.
Smith claims liberals have been too focused on issues that aren't vital to certain parts of the country, which has led to their loss of power. "Instead, they talked about everything from woke culture, the cancel culture, to abortion rights and all of this other stuff. So that wasn't going to win the election and that's what we have to look at. What is it? What is it going to take to get the job done? That's why somebody who's a sports analyst, for crying out loud, is in the daggone on polls. Yeah, it's not, it's not somebody big upping in me. It's an indictment against a Democratic Party that doesn't have leadership. It doesn't have a vision," he pointed out.

Stephen A. Smith also slammed people on the left for the backlash against Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer for attending a meeting with Donald Trump at the White House.
"She's the governor of Michigan. She has no choice but to do that. And anybody that thinks otherwise is just being foolish and immature and childish," the reporter emphasized. "The fact is that she's the governor of a state in the United States of America. You need to do business with the federal government. He's the president of the United States. You don't get to circumvent him. So as a result, you have to be an adult in the room and be prepared to do business. And anybody that would encourage her to do otherwise is just being utterly ridiculous."

Although Stephen A. Smith may be entertaining a presidential run, he's banking on someone more politically equipped than himself to rise up and defeat the Republicans.
"I would hope somebody else would step up that's more qualified than me, but if it has to come down to me, it is something I would consider," the star explained. "Yes, I would, because I don't mind the thought of tussling with these folks at all on the left or the right. All of them disgust me to be quite honest with you."
