'The Office' fan favorite was in therapy for 22 years after 'loveless' childhood during which his mother abandoned him

Rainn Wilson became a comedy star due to his nine-season run on "The Office," but his childhood was no laughing matter, as it was allegedly filled with abuse, trauma, abandonment and a lack of love.

While on The Diary of A CEO podcast, the actor spoke of how his mother "took off" when he was two years old, leaving him to be raised by his highly religious father. The childhood, he said, was "loveless," and it took him 22 years of therapy to come to terms with it. Ironically, Rainn is grateful for the unorthodox upbringing, as he believes his career would suffer if he didn't have those trying experiences.

"I experienced a lot of pain in my life, and a lot of suffering with anxiety and depression and addiction. As I dove into recovery and the therapeutic process, I can pin that squarely on a lot of gross imbalances and trauma that I suffered as a child," Rainn Wilson, 57, said on the podcast. "It's important to excavate and honor the pain we went through, the lies that we were told, the gaslighting that we might have undergone, religious trauma as well, all kinds of different traumas that we suffer."

When Rainn Wilson was just two years old, his mother exited the equation, leaving him to be raised by his father. "Abandoned toddler, that'll f*** you up, and there was this weird gaslighting mind f***," the actor said. In an impulsive move a year later, Rainn's dad moved them to the "jungles of Nicaragua." Eventually the father-son duo settled in Washington State so Rainn could begin elementary school. During this time, he was being raised in the Baha'i faith community, which believes in the unity and equality of humanity, and in one God. While that might sound like a love-filled home, the opposite actually existed, as Rainn argued that his impressionable years were filled with "rage" and "gaslighting."

"The Meg" actor said he was raised in a "loveless shell of a house" where he encountered "lots of different kinds of abuse."

Acting soon became an interest of Rainn's due to the "acceptance" he felt within the community.

Rainn Wilson actually believes he has a kinship with many comedians because of his hard childhood.

"There's a reason why so many comedians come from painful backgrounds because comedy is what you plug in to shift your perspective away from pain and trauma just like gratitude takes you away from depression," he said. "You see the great comedians of the age and how much suffering they went through in their lives, but comedy became the necessary thing to plug into their perspective in order to carry forward."

He added, "These confluences of pain and difficulty and abuse and neglect, they caused me a lot of suffering later on but at the same time they caused me to be driven and the best version of myself… they made me funny."

Despite being on one of the funniest sitcoms of recent times, Rainn Wilson wasn't exactly "happy" while filming, admitting, "My chronic dissatisfaction fueled my spiritual drive, and fueled my career drive, and my ambition because I wanted more." But, that's not to say he doesn't have an appreciation for "The Office."

"I just need to speak to how deeply gratified I am, that all of us are, that 'The Office' has brought so much serenity and peace and love and upliftment and inspiration to people. Getting on a TV show is one of the hardest things in the world," he said. "And then getting on one that last, and then getting on one that last and is good and then getting on one that last and is good and still has a cultural impact 10 year after it ended – talk about hitting the lottery. We had no idea it would have this kind of impact."

Taylor Swift emerged on the music scene with the release of her debut track, "Tim McGraw," on June 19, 2006. A lot has changed since then, including her musical genre of choice. (Goodbye, country! Hello, pop!) The pop star set another surprising record — this time in the movie realm! — in September 2023. That month it was revealed her upcoming concert film, "Taylor Swift The Eras Tour" broke the single-day AMC Theaters advance tickets all-time record for ticket purchases with $26 million in sales revenue in just 24 hours. She also became Fandango's best first-day ticket seller of 2023 the same day.

We're taking a look back at her many career highs, the few lows, the milestones and the dramas. Keep reading for more of them…

Taylor Swift was far from an overnight success. The Pennsylvania native fell in love with country music as a tween, and when she was 11, Taylor and her mom went to Nashville to submit her singing demos to record labels. Rejections came pouring in, and Taylor decided she needed to write and perform her own songs. Three years later, at 14, she became the youngest songwriter ever signed by the Sony/ATV Tree publishing house. Then, in 2005, she was one of the first signings to country music label Big Machine Records.

Taylor Swift was just 16 when she released her eponymous debut album in October 2006. Written almost single-handedly by Taylor during her freshman year in high school, the earnest album focused on young love and teen angst. "Taylor Swift" received rave reviews from critics, and the budding songstress quickly became the toast of the country music scene. In fact, with the album's third single, "Our Song," Taylor became the youngest artist in history to have written and performed a No.1 song on the Hot Country Songs chart.

It wasn't long before the awards started flooding in. At the 2007 CMA Awards, Taylor Swift won the coveted Horizon Award, which honors the best new country artist of the year. "I can't even believe that this is real," she said during her endearing acceptance speech. "I want to thank God and my family for moving to Nashville so I could do this. The fans — you have changed my life. This is definitely the highlight of my senior year!"

We've become accustomed to seeing Taylor Swift's surprised faces at award shows, but it was especially exciting to see her response to getting a Grammy nod for best new artist. While helping to present the nominees for the 2008 show, she heard Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins of the Foo Fighters announce her name, and she ran right over and hugged them. "Don't worry, Taylor," Dave said. "You got it in the bag." Alas, she didn't — Amy Winehouse beat her out for the award.

Taylor Swift gave us a second helping of her musical stylings in November 2009 with her sophomore album, "Fearless." While still a country record, the album also had mainstream pop appeal and marked the beginning of her crossover. Like with her debut album, Taylor either wrote or co-wrote every track on the album. This time, however, she also acted as co-producer. Buoyed by hits like "Love Story" and "You Belong With Me," the album's success bled into the following year, and by the end of 2009, "Fearless" was the top-selling album of the year.

It was the interruption heard 'round the world. At the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, Taylor Swift was on stage accepting the Moonman for best female video for "You Belong With Me" after beating out the likes of Beyonce, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry. But before she could enjoy the moment, Kanye West crashed the stage, grabbed the mic, and said, "Yo, Taylor, I'm really happy for you, I'mma let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time!" A shocked Taylor simply stood by and watched as Kanye epically ruined her moment. Later that night, when Beyonce won video of the year, Bey called Taylor up and let her make her speech. "Maybe we can try this again," Taylor said. Taylor and Kanye later buried the hatchet only to feud again in February 2016 when he released the song "Famous" — in which he raps, "I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / I made that b**** famous." Taylor has gone on to win 10 more VMAs.

Taylor Swift did double duty when she appeared on "Saturday Night Live" in November 2009, acting as both host and musical guest. Most memorable was her musical monologue in which she riffed on loving sparkly dresses, getting interrupted by Kanye West at the VMAs and having high-profile relationships. However, "SNL" wasn't Taylor's acting debut. Earlier that year, she played a murder victim on an episode of "CSI."

Taylor Swift closed out the year by sweeping the 2009 Country Music Association Awards, taking home all four of the awards she was up for. Along with album of the year, female vocalist of the year and music video of the tear, Taylor won entertainer of the year, making her the youngest artist to win the show's most sought-after prize. "I will never forget this moment because in this moment everything I have ever wanted has just happened to me," she said as she accepted the award.

Taylor Swift put her 2008 Grammy best new artist loss behind her when she took home a whopping four wins out of eight nominations in 2010. (She may say 13 is her lucky number, but we'd argue it's actually four.) If that wasn't enough, Taylor also made Grammys history when she became the youngest artist to win the show's top prize, album of the year. "Country music is my home," Taylor told reporters later in the press room. "Country music is my love. But to have it organically crossover this year? It's just been fantastic. I think the healthiest thing you can do when making music is remove stereotypes from it."

In 2010, Taylor Swift proved that she wasn't just popular but also powerful when she was named to the Time 100, Time magazine's list of the most influential people in the world. She made the prestigious list again in 2015.

Taylor Swift made her big-screen acting debut in 2010 when she appeared alongside a slew of other stars in the rom-com "Valentine's Day." Although the movie was panned by critics, it was a box office success.

Taylor Swift was back with new music in 2010 with "Speak Now." Her life in the spotlight — including her high-profile relationships and getting attacked by critics — provided lots of fodder for the album, which spawned a number of hits including "Mine" and "Back to December." Although she lost best country album to Lady A, "Speak Now" earned Taylor two more Grammys: best country solo performance and best country song for "Mean."

Two years later, Taylor Swift released her fourth studio album, "Red." Once again, many of the songs on the album were about her romantic relationships, both good and bad. And once again, Taylor earned both critical praise and commercial success for the album, which featured tracks like "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" and "I Knew You Were Trouble."

Although Taylor Swift had dallied around in the pop world, she had always predominantly been a country artist. All that changed in 2014 with her fifth studio album, "1989." Taylor called the effort her "first documented, official pop album," even dubbing it her favorite album to date. Fans and critics seem to agree: Not only did the album garner her the most sales worldwide, but in 2016, it earned Taylor her second Grammy for album of the year.

When Taylor Swift took home the Grammy for album of the year for "1989" in February 2016, she became the first woman to ever win the top award twice. While accepting the prize, she gave a gracious, inspirational speech: "I want to say to all the young women out there, there are going to be people along the way who are going to try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame. But if you just focus on the work and you don't let those people sidetrack you, someday, when you get where you're going you'll look around and you'll know it was you and the people who love you who put you there and that will be the greatest feeling in the world. Taylor Swift's "1989" tour was an event not to be missed — not only because fans could hear Tay's hits like "Bad Blood," "Shake It Off" and "Blank Space," but because you never knew who else would be there. Night after night, celebs showed up en masse to be part of Taylor's "squad" onstage. The more than 50 stars who strutted with Taylor included everyone from Justin Timberlake and Ellen DeGeneres to Mick Jagger and Julia Roberts, plus Taylor's posse of supermodel BFFs as well as the U.S. Women's World Cup Soccer Team.

In recent years, Taylor Swift has used her music business clout to take a stand against apps and websites that offer music streaming without paying artists. She began her quest in July 2014 in a Wall Street Journal op-ed. "It's my opinion that music should not be free, and my prediction is that individual artists and their labels will someday decide what an album's price point is," she wrote. "I hope they don't underestimate themselves or undervalue their art." Then, later that year, she removed virtually all of her music from Spotify. The following year, she took on Apple Music by threatening to hold back "1989" from its streaming service because it wouldn't be paying artists, writers or producers for plays during new members' free three-month trial memberships. Although she can take the hit because she makes money touring, she argued that smaller artists cannot. The power play worked, as Apple changed its policy. More proof that Taylor and Apple have kissed and made up? In early 2016, she starred in a series of ads for Apple Music, which touted the three-month trial.

In May 2016, Taylor Swift was given one of the most fitting awards ever: BMI's Taylor Swift Award. "I'm really super relieved that BMI decided to give me the Taylor Swift Award, because if they had chose somebody else to give the Taylor Swift Award to I'd be, like, kind of bummed about it," she joked in her acceptance speech. What's even more of an honor is that Taylor was only the second person to get an eponymous award from the organization, which represents and collects royalties for songwriters. (Michael Jackson was the first in 1990.) That same night, she won the award for pop songwriter of the year too.

Taylor Swift continued to rack up distinctions and honors left and right, even when they don't come with statues made of gold that are given to her at fancy award shows. Naturally, she's one of the most followed people on social media, including on Instagram and Twitter. Several of her videos have more than a billion YouTube views (yes, that's billion with a B). She also has a number of Guinness World Records to her name, including most million-selling weeks on U.S. albums charts, most simultaneous U.S. Hot 100 hits by a female (though she's since been bested), and fastest selling digital single.

Following a highly publicized split from Tom Hiddleston, Taylor Swift took a hiatus from Hollywood and social media starting at the end of the summer of 2016, with her only big appearance of the year happening in October at the Formula 1 U.S. Grand Prix in Austin, Texas. She didn't get back on stage until February 2017, when she headed back to Texas for Super Bowl weekend in Houston to deliver a 90-minute set. In May 2017, it was reported that Taylor Swift had quietly been recording a new album. The first single off "Reputation" — "Look What You Made Me Do" — was released in August and immediately started breaking records. Most notable? Its music video became the most viewed ever in a 24-hour period on YouTube, with more than 28 million views in a single day (it's now been seen on her YouTube Vevo channel alone more than 1.2 billion times). "Reputation" was also the most pre-ordered musical item in Target's history.

Taylor Swift launched her very own app in December 2017, "The Swift Life." The app was designed to allow diehard Taylor fans to have a positive place to interact with each other and the star herself. In March 2018, Taylor Swift's "Reputation" album surpassed 2 million units in sales in America, making it the first album to hit that mark since Adele's "25" did it in 2015. "Reputation" was also one of only two albums released in 2017 that sold a million copies in the United States. The other? "Divide" by Ed Sheeran, who, coincidentally, also appears on "Reputation" with good friend Taylor.

Taylor Swift is known for being a total cat person — so it wasn't much of a shock when it was announced she'd be joining the cast of "Cats" — the film adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber's iconic Broadway musical — in July 2018. (She plays flirty, glamorous feline Bombalurina in the 2019 movie, which tanked at the box office and with critics.) This marked the third major film Taylor's been in, as she previously had roles in "Valentine's Day" in 2010 and "The Giver" in 2014. Taylor Swift, who previously held the record for the highest grossing U.S. tour by a woman thanks to the success of her 2015 "1989" concert trek, broke her own record with her 2018 "Reputation" stadium tour. According to Billboard Boxscore, in August 2018, Taylor surpassed herself as 27 of her U.S. dates grossed $191.1 million — and that was two months before her stadium tour run ended!

Taylor Swift has long refrained from voicing her political opinions, but she broke her own rule in early October 2018 when she took to Instagram to urge fans to vote in the midterm elections — and shared who she would and wouldn't be casting a ballot for in her home state of Tennessee. "In the past I've been reluctant to publicly voice my political opinions, but due to several events in my life and in the world in the past two years, I feel very differently about that now," she explained in part. "I always have and always will cast my vote based on which candidate will protect and fight for the human rights I believe we all deserve in this country." The music star's message was received loud and clear, inspiring a huge spike in voter registrations both nationally and in Tennessee. According to The Hollywood Reporter, in the 24 hours after Taylor's post went up, Vote.org saw an uptick of 65,000 registrations — a number that grew to 240,000 48 hours later. For context, Buzzfeed News reported, nationwide, 190,178 new voters were registered in the entire month of September while 56,669 were registered in August. That's power!

After Taylor Swift took home three trophies at the 2018 American Music Awards — for tour of the year, favorite pop/rock album (for "Reputation") and best pop/rock female artist — she became the most decorated female artist in AMA history with 22 trophies overall. She surpassed the late Whitney Houston, who had 21 wins, and came within striking distance of the late Michael Jackson, who held the record for most AMAs wins ever with 24. Nov. 19, 2018, was a big day for Taylor Swift: First, Forbes named her the No. 2 top-earning woman in music between June 2017 and June 2018 thanks to an estimated haul of $80 million (just behind Katy Perry, who earned $83 million) — a figure that grew exponentially the following year thanks to the success of her "Reputation" world tour, the bulk of which took place after the timeframe closed. Later the same day, Taylor herself announced a landmark new record deal: She left Big Machine Label Group and signed with Universal Music Group's Republic Records in a deal worth between $100M and $200M in guarantees, Forbes reported. But the truly remarkable part of the negotiations is that Taylor is keeping her future master recordings — and she secured a promise from the label that will benefit other artists too. "There was one condition that meant more to me than any other deal point. As part of my new contract with Universal Music Group, I asked that any sale of their Spotify shares result in a distribution of money to their artists, non-recoupable. They have generously agreed to this, at what they believe will be much better terms and paid out previously by other major labels," she explained on Instagram. "I see this is a sign that we are headed toward positive change for creators — a goal I'm never going to stop trying to help achieve, in whatever ways I can."

In November 2018, Taylor Swift set another record, besting previous title holders the Rolling Stones to become the artist with the highest grossing tour in U.S. history. Once the receipts were tallied for her 2018 concert trek, Billboard announced that the pop star's "Reputation" stadium tour had earned $266.1 million on ticket sales of over 2 million across 38 dates. The Stones grossed $245 million from their "A Bigger Bang Tour," which ran from 2005 to 2007, but it took them 70 shows to do it. Taylor, Billboard explained, "stole the title in just 38."

Surprise! On April 26, 2019, following a mysterious 13-day countdown on social media, Taylor Swift dropped a new single called "ME!" plus a video for the track, both featuring Panic! at the Disco frontman Brendon Urie. Just one day later, she'd set a new YouTube record after racking up 65.2 million views: The pop star bested Ariana Grande's "thank u, next" video to claim the honor of most watched video in 24 hours by a solo or female artist on the platform. Taylor also broke records on Vevo (for most video views in a single day) and Amazon (which confirmed that "ME!" had the most first-day streams as well as the most on-demand Alexa voice requests on Amazon Music ever).

On June 13, 2019, Taylor Swift announced that she would release her seventh studio album, "Lover," on Aug. 23. Once again, she broke records: Apple Music reported that Taylor had set a new record (previously held by Ariana Grande's "Thank U, Next") for most worldwide pre-adds on its platform for a female artist ever (178,600 on the first day alone). "Lover" also became the most pre-added pop album ever, worldwide, on Apple Music. "Lover" also went to No. 1 and had the biggest sales week for any artist since the release of Taylor's last effort, 2017's "reputation."

At midnight on June 14, 2019, Taylor Swift dropped the second single off her forthcoming "Lover" album, "You Need to Calm Down" — a pop anthem all about equality and understanding that made headlines for being her first track with an overtly political message. Three days later in the midst of LGBTQ Pride Month, Taylor released the track's video, which featured a slew of celebrity friends (including Ellen DeGeneres, Adam Lambert, Ryan Reynolds, Ciara, the "Queer Eye" Fab Five, Laverne Cox, RuPaul, Todrick Hall and many more) and notably ended it with an on-screen call to action: "Let's show our pride by demanding that, on a national level, our laws truly treat all our citizens equally. Please sign my petition for Senate support of the Equality Act on Change.org." Months later in April 2020, she was honored with the GLAAD's Vanguard Award, which is presented to allies who've made a significant difference in advocating for the rights of people in the LGBTQ+ community.

Taylor Swift sent the world another big message when she released her "You Need to Calm Down" video on June 17, making it clear that her years-long feud with Katy Perry — a beef that inspired Taylor's song "Bad Blood" and Katy's "Swish, Swish" track — was unequivocally over. Katy delivered a surprise cameo at the end of the video — she's dressed as a cheeseburger while Taylor's in a fries costume — and hugged it out with her onetime nemesis. Taylor later revealed on Britain's "Capital Breakfast" radio show that the healing began in 2018 when Katy sent her a literal olive branch ahead of Taylor's "Reputation" stadium tour. "We didn't know if we were ever gonna really tell people about it. We wanted to make sure that was solid between us before we ever made the public aware," she explained. The peace has lasted and they women decided the world should know about it. When Taylor contacted Katy about appearing in her video, Katy said yes. "She was like, 'I would love for us to be a symbol of redemption and forgiveness.' And I feel the same way about it," Taylor told BBC Radio 1.

Taylor Swift's "worst case scenario," she wrote on Tumblr on June 30, 2019, came true when Scooter Braun's Ithaca Holdings acquired the music artist's former home, Big Machine Label Group, which was founded by Scott Borchetta, the same month. After news of the $300 million sale broke, Taylor — who claimed she was denied a fair and reasonable chance to buy back her own work despite having "pleaded" to — took to social media to slam the deal, which gave Scooter (who famously manages Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande and used to work with Taylor foe Kanye West) control of her back catalog. According to Taylor, Scooter has been part of "incessant, manipulative bullying" she's experienced for years in part through some of his clients. "Essentially, my musical legacy is about to lie in the hands of someone who tried to dismantle it," Taylor wrote. Scott hit back to deny some of Taylor's allegations, Variety reported, and insisted, "Scooter has always been and will continue to be a supporter and honest custodian for Taylor and her music." Celebrities quickly took sides, with Katy Perry, Halsey, Cara Delevingne, Iggy Azalea, Todrick Hall, Alessia Cara and more supporting Taylor in the wake of the drama. Scooter's wife as well as clients Justin and new signee Demi Lovato took to social media to support the executive.

On July 10, 2019, Taylor Swift once again topped Forbes' Celebrity 100 list after she earned an estimated $185 million in pre-tax income over the previous year — a figure Forbes classified as her biggest yearly earnings total to date. She did it thanks to the wild success of her 53-date "Reputation" stadium world tour, which pulled in a grand total of $345 million in 2018 and 2019, according to Forbes.

On July 23, 2019, Taylor Swift released the track "The Archer" from her forthcoming seventh studio album, "Lover." The dreamy pop ballad earned critical acclaim and debuted at No. 69 on the Billboard Hot 100 — becoming Taylor's 80th song to enter the chart. The same day "The Archer" hit airwaves, there was more good news: Taylor tied Ariana Grande for the most 2019 MTV Video Music Awards nominations — both women scored 10 — including for video and song of the year for her celebrity-filled "You Need to Calm Down" video.

In August 2019, Taylor Swift finally released her much anticipated seventh studio album, "Lover." It went on to become the bestselling album of the year by a solo artist after selling 3.2 million copies. That same month, she attended the MTV Video Music Awards, where she was up for 12 Moonman statues and took home three.

On Dec. 12, 2019, Taylor Swift was named Billboard's woman of the decade at the Billboard Women In Music Awards at the Hollywood Palladium where she used her speech to criticize "toxic male privilege" in the music industry and celebrate fellow female artists. "Women in music are not allowed to coast," she said in part. "We are held at a higher, sometimes impossible-feeling, standard." Just a few weeks earlier, she was named artist of the decade at the 2019 American Music Awards where her wins for the night helped her shatter Michael Jackson's record for all-time AMA wins. At the 2020 AMAs, she broke her own record when she added three more trophies to her haul: She now has a record-setting 32 American Music Awards!

Taylor Swift received a new prize — the first Teen Choice Icon Award ever handed out — at FOX's Teen Choice Awards in Hermosa Beach, California, on Aug. 11, 2019. While accepting the inaugural trophy — which came in the form of a surfboard customized with images of her three cats — the pop star told fans, "These are my furry children, and this is a really proud moment for me that they are on a Teen Choice surfboard. Aesthetically speaking, this might be my favorite award." She went on to offer sound advice to the teenagers in the audience: "One thing I wish I would have known when I was a teen is mistakes are inevitable," she said. Despite a global pandemic, Taylor Swift remained hard at work in 2020. She dropped two albums within five months — both of which were total surprises. Taylor — who began re-recording her first six albums the same month — hit back after the news broke, tearing into Scooter and detailing how her team "attempted to enter into negotiations" but that they were foiled as his team "wanted me to sign an ironclad NDA stating I would never say another word about Scooter Braun unless it was positive, before we could even look at the financial records of BMLG (which is always the first step in a purchase of this nature." She explained she would "have to sign a document that would silence me forever before I could even have a chance to bid on my own work. Later in November 2020, Taylor dropped "Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions" on Disney+, a documentary in which she not only performs all 17 tracks from her acclaimed coronavirus lockdown album "folklore" but talks about the creative process behind the music with co-producers Aaron Dessner of The National and Jack Antonoff. In the film, she also confirmed widespread speculation that longtime love Joe Alwyn co-wrote two tracks with her using the pseudonym William Bowery. "There's been a lot of discussion about William Bowery and his identity, because … it's not a real person," Taylor told Jack and Aaron in the movie. "So, William Bowery is Joe … as we know."

Taylor Swift's "folklore" album earned six nominations for the singer-songwriter at the 2021 Grammys and delivered one huge win: Taylor made history yet again as she became the first woman to win album of the year three times.

In 2008, Taylor Swift scored her very first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart with her sophomore effort, "Fearless." Diner embarrassment

Meg Ryan's children are well aware of their mom's infamous deli scene in "When Harry Met Sally," the hit 1989 rom-com in which Meg's Sally delivers a very public fake climax while dining with Billy Crystal's Harry. ("I'll have what she's having," another patron tells the waiter, pointing at Sally.)

Meg, 61, was asked about the scene in a recent chat with comedy legend Carol Burnett for Interview magazine, revealing that it still comes up all these years later, much to the chagrin of her kids, Jack, 31, and Daisy, 19. "It's funny, my son just called me this morning and he's in New York staying at a hotel that's right across the street from Katz's Deli," Meg said, referencing the iconic eatery where they filmed the scene, doing the take "over and over again," according to the star. "My daughter was here and everybody was on speaker, and they were like, 'Mom, this is a very unique embarrassment,'" Meg continued with a laugh. "He said, 'You know you can go into that deli and there's an arrow pointing down to the table where you shot that scene.' … I wonder if it's the right one."

Sexual assault allegations

Nick Carter is facing his third sexual assault lawsuit after an unnamed woman filed a complaint against the singer in Las Vegas on Aug. 28, People reported. The alleged victim claims the Backstreet Boys star assaulted her multiple times in 2003 when she was 15. woman who claimed he assaulted her at age 15. An attorney for Nick has denied the allegations, which cite stories of an alleged assault on a yacht and claims Nick "knowingly engaged" in "sexual acts" without the woman's consent. The suit also alleges Nick did not use protection, that he gave the woman drugs and alcohol despite knowing she was underage and that she contracted an STI as a result, according to People.

In a denial of the claims, attorney Dale Hayes tells the outlet that when the woman, named only as "A.R." in the suit, "first accused Nick Carter almost two decades ago, authorities listened and thoroughly investigated – and then informed A.R. that her allegations were meritless. And now she's at it yet again. But repeating the same false allegations in a new legal complaint doesn't make them any more true. Nick is looking forward to the evidence being presented and the truth about these malicious schemes coming to light."

Botox reality check

It's been more than a decade since "90210" star Shenae Grimes played high schooler Annie Wilson on The CW spin-off, and she's over being told she's "aged terribly." That comment "…is something I've heard about myself anytime I post a nostalgic clip from my past life as a TEEN actor," Shenae, 33, captioned a clip on Instagram on Aug. 31. "Thing is…I'm just… aging. I'm nearly 34 years old with 2 kids, what the hell do you expect?!"

Addressing the accompanying clip to the "people of the Internet," Shenae says, in part: "I'm going to let you in on a little secret: If you see a woman above the age of 30 and she doesn't look a little bit like this … she's more than likely had something injected into her face." She goes on to assure viewers she's "not shaming anybody for doing it" or "trying to out anybody" who has, adding that she's actually "very curious about" trying injectables herself. "But in the same breath, I think we've gotten so used to seeing people who have had fillers and Botox talking about skincare recommendations and makeup hacks to make you look youthful and perfect and plastic, we've actually started to believe that that's what you can look like without injecting anything into your face," she says.

Finally, she asks everyone to just "be a little bit more transparent" for the sake of those who may think their naturally aging faces look "old" or imperfect.

'Urgent family matter'

On Sept. 1, Blink-182 pressed pause on its European tour because of an "urgent family matter" requiring Travis Barker to fly home. The drummer is currently expecting his first child with wife Kourtney Kardashian. "Due to an urgent family matter, Travis has had to return home to the States," the band said in a post on X (formerly Twitter). "The Glasgow, Belfast, and Dublin shows are being postponed. More information in regards to his return to Europe and rescheduled dates will be provided as soon as available."

Travis shared photos from what appeared to be an airport "Prayer Room" on his Instagram Stories just before the tour announcement was posted. Though he didn't didn't elaborate on the need for prayers, fans on social media quickly responded by predicting Kourtney, who struggled with IVF before she and Travis conceived, may have gone into labor with the couple's son. The reality star announced her pregnancy in June with a clip that showed her at a Blink-182 concert holding up a sign that read, "Travis I'm pregnant." She's also mom to three kids with ex, Scott Disick, while Travis shares two children and a step-daughter with ex-wife Shanna Moakler. On Sept. 1, Shanna told TMZ the emergency had nothing to do with their kids.

$26M in 24 hours

Taylor Swift is in record-breaking mode once again. Pre-sale tickets to the singer's upcoming "Eras Tour" concert film went on sale via AMC on Aug. 31, and in less than three hours, Taylor's movie set a new AMC record for first-day, 24-hour ticket sales, AMC announced Sept. 1. Overall, her film notched a whopping $26 million in its first 24 hours on sale. That's a new record for the 103-year-old AMC chain, whose previous record-holder was "Spider-Man: No Way Home," which sold $16.9 million worth of tickets in the same span of time in 2021.

The film showcases Taylor's current (insanely profitable) Eras Tour, a celebration of the various eras of her music career that's expected to become the biggest-grossing concert tour in history, grossing at least $1 billion, Fortune. reported in August. By the way, it's not just interest in the Eras Tour that's fueling Taylor's record-smashing habit in 2023. With her No. 1 debut of "Speak Now (Taylor's Version)" in July, the singer took the crown for the most No. 1 albums by a woman in music history, according to Billboard. "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour Concert Film" hits theaters Oct. 13.

Post Malone's slimdown continues. The singer and rapper shared a new glimpse at his healthier physique on Instagram this week, posting a selfie taken in a full-length mirror with the caption, "Introducing Viceroy Chungus VonBattlepass, i love you." The pic sparked support from fans and fellow music stars, like rapper Ty Dolla $ign, who wrote in the comments, "What up $lim!" Post, 28, has been shedding pounds for months — and according to his recent appearance on "The Joe Rogan Experience" podcast, one key to his wieght loss has been his decision to cut way back on soda. "I was like 240 and now I'm like 185," he told the podcast host in August.

The Grammy winner has also said parenthood helped inspire him to make some changes. "I guess dad life kicked in and I decided to kick soda and start eating better so I can be around for a long time for this little angel," he told Instagram followers in April.

Backlash response

Earlier this week, Martha Stewart was branded "tone deaf" for her "dystopian" post about the "small iceberg" she'd "captured" for cocktails while aboard a luxury cruise in Greenland. She has since responded to the backlash by having a little fun with her haters. In a series of Instagram Stories posted to her account on Aug. 30, Martha shared a photo of a "pleated ice berg" she teased was "perfect for cocktails." She then shared a Washington Post headline that read, "Martha Stewart put an iceberg in her drink. Experts say it's no big deal." As it turns out, experts agree Greenland's ice sheets are melting at a dangerous pace thanks to carbon emissions, but they do not seem to think this has much to do with Martha's cocktail hour.

The story she linked to featured an interview with award-winning glacial scientist Eric Rignot, who studies the effects of climate change on polar ice sheets. He wasn't too worried about Martha and her ice cap cocktail situation. "It is not like she went to a glacier and carved a piece of ice off it," said the University of California — Irvine professor. "Icebergs float at sea already and slowly melt. Whether they melt in the ocean or in your glass does not make a difference."

'90s beauty nightmare

When Charlize Theron made her Hollywood debut in 1997's "The Devil's Advocate," she was sporting one of the most popular beauty trends of the decade. And while fashion's fallen back in love with all things '90s circa 2023, Charlize won't be revisiting the look anytime soon. Asked to name her one "beauty regret" in an interview published Aug. 30, the 48-year-old told InStyle, "Hands down, the thin eyebrows in the '90s." She added that she's "still recovering from that." Though eyebrows are notoriously difficult to regrow once they've been over-tweezed, the barely-there brow appeared on everyone from Gwen Stefani to Halle Berry to Drew Barrymore 25 years ago. Today, the trend is staging a comeback, thanks to Gen Z's '90s style obsession. But when it comes to her face, Charlize is not about rehashing the past.

"My face is changing, and I love that my face is changing and aging," the Oscar winner recently told Allure. "But people think I had a facelift. They're like, 'What did she do to her face?' I'm like, 'B****, I'm just aging! It doesn't mean I got bad plastic surgery. This is just what happens.'"

Diana, remembered

Aug. 31 marked 26 years since Princess Diana's death, a milestone the late royal's brother, Charles Earl Spencer, honored by sharing a childhood photo of the two on Instagram. In the pic, Diana towers above her younger brother, draping one arm protectively around his shoulder.

Diana's own children, Prince William and Prince Harry, have struggled to remain friendly in the wake of Harry's tell-all memoir, "Spare." Despite their rift, William shared memories of the two from happier times on social media as a memorial to Diana. His Instagram post opened with a clip of the siblings unveiling a statue of their mother before moving into a montage of photos and video of the boys with Diana when they were young.

"On this day 26 years ago the world lost Princess Diana, The iconic Beautiful Mother," William captioned the post. "She will be forever loved, always in our hearts missed and never forgotten." Diana died on Aug. 31, 1997, following a car crash in Paris. She was 36.

Help from Matt and Ben

As the Hollywood writers' strike got underway earlier this year, shutting down all the major late-night shows, Jimmy Kimmel says two of his famous friends offered to step in. (Well, make that one famous friend and one faux-nemesis.) "Ben Affleck and the despicable Matt Damon contacted me and offered to pay our staff for two weeks," Jimmy said, referencing his long-running fake feud with Matt on the debut episode of his new podcast series, "Strike Force Five," according to The Hollywood Reporter. Speaking to his fellow co-hosts — late-night stars Jimmy Fallon, Stephen Colbert, Seth Meyers and John Oliver — Jimmy recalled that Matt and Ben wanted to cover "a week each" of staff pay, and "they wanted to pay out of their own pocket." In the end, Jimmy said he declined the offer. "I felt that that was not their responsibility," he explained. ("Couldn't you say yes and then give your money to us?" Stephen joked in response.)

Jimmy also admitted the strike has changed his tune on retirement. "I was very intent on retiring right around the time where the strike started," he said. "And now, I realize, oh yeah, it's kind of nice to work. You know when you are working, you think about not working."

As of Aug. 31, the Writers Guild of America remains on strike after hitting the picket lines nearly four months earlier in May. Hollywood's actors union, SAG-AFTRA, followed suit in July and also remains on strike as of late August. Both unions are calling for updated compensation related to developments in streaming, AI and more.

Microphone chuck

Rapper 50 Cent has been accused of badly injuring a concert-goer by throwing a microphone into the crowd while onstage in Los Angeles on Aug. 30. He's reportedly been named a suspect in a criminal battery report stemming from the alleged incident. According to social media footage from the show at L.A.'s Crypto.com Arena, Fiddy was handed multiple mics that didn't work before he apparently got frustrated and hurled one of them. The move allegedly left Power 106 radio host Bryhana Monegain with a bloody gash across her forehead. TMZ, which published photos of the injury, reports Bryhana has since filed a police report. TMZ sources have said 50 didn't target Bryhana, though a source connected to the rapper claimed she was in a "restricted area" she should not have been in at the time she says she was hurt.

The report comes less a month after Cardi B was hit with a party-goer's drink while performing at a Las Vegas pool party and responded by hurling her mic at the alleged perpetrator.

Romance requirements

At one point on her new track, "Single Soon," Selena Gomez croons about being "a little high-maintenance" while hatching a plan to show a suitor the door. But the lyric's really about simply knowing what she wants in a romantic partner. "I think I have standards," Selena explains in a new interview on SiriusXM Hits 1 LA. "And I think I live in a world right now where boys confuse standards with high-maintenance. It really isn't [the same thing]. But the line was really fun because I'm not ashamed to say, 'I actually require x, y, and z for you to be with me.' So in a way, it was just meant to be for the attitude of the song. And that's genuinely how I feel."

Selena, 31, confirmed she's happily single right now, having put her high-profile relationships with the likes of Justin Bieber and The Weeknd behind her. "I'm just enjoying where I'm at and … I just want to be happy with who I am so that whenever that person comes into my life, I can just have them add on to me instead of being this insecure, you know, person that I normally used to be," she said.

The "Only Murders In the Building" star also elaborated on her requirements for any future romantic interests. "I mean you gotta be cool, man. Not cool in the sense that people think you're cool," she said. "You just gotta be nice and like, please make me laugh and also just be good to my family and people around you."

Famous YouTuber arrested after duct taped and 'emaciated' child jumped out of a window: Details

A hugely popular YouTube star was arrested after an "emaciated" child with duct tape around their wrists and ankles jumped out of her business partner's home window and ran to a neighbor's house for help.

Ruby Franke is a Utah mother of six who documented her family's life on "8 Passengers" on YouTube — the now defunct channel had 2.5M subscribers at its peak. Her parenting style has been controversial and some have called it abusive. Ruby's choices were again questioned after she partnered with Jodi Hildebrandt, who co-founded parent advice and counseling YouTube channel and service "ConneXions."

While police are still withholding pertinent information about the Wednesday, Aug. 30, incident, both women have been charged with two counts of second-degree aggravated child abuse, intentional or unknowing.

An arrest record, obtained by Page Six, stated that the unidentified child fled through a window of Jodi's house in remote Southern Utah and asked the neighbor for food and water. The neighbor, who claims to not know Jodi well, called police after noticing the duct tape on the child's ankles and wrists.

Once police arrived on scene, they noticed that the child was "emaciated and malnourished, with open wounds," a statement to media said. The wounds and malnourishment were so "severe" that the child was transported to a hospital in Saint George, a town that borders Utah and Arizona. The child was placed on a medical hold "due to deep lacerations from being tied up with rope," police said.

Amid all this, a second malnourished child was also allegedly found in Jodi's home. Four minors were also taken into the care of the Division of Child and Family Services, Page Six said.

Citing a search warrant, Fox 13 in Utah said the Mormon mother of six had been seen filming in Jodi's home days before, leading police to argue she had "knowledge of the abuse, malnourishment and neglect."

After the arrest, Franke's oldest daughter, Shari, celebrated on Instagram. "Finally," she penned. "Today has been a big day. Me and my family are so glad justice is being served. We've been trying to tell the police and CPS for years about this, and so glad they finally decided to step up."

Shari, who're reportedly been cut off from her mom for years, added, "Kids are safe, but there's a long road ahead."

Ruby Franke's parenting is no doubt controversial, and she's made headlines in the past for her strict household. NBC said the Franke parents have been criticized for "refusing to bring their then-6-year-old daughter lunch at school after she forgot to pack one, threatening to throw away their prized possessions and denying her children personal space." She also allegedly made her son sleep on a beanbag for seven months for playing pranks on his siblings. In another instance, she "took Christmas away" from a child for being "selfish."

Ruby Franke's three sisters, who are also YouTube influencers, responded to the arrest and said it "needed to happen."

"For the last 3 years we have kept quiet on the subject of our sister Ruby Franke for the sake of her children. Behind the public scene we have done everything we could to try and make sure the kids were safe," they said in a statement. "Ruby was arrested which needed to happen. Jodi was arrested which needed to happen. The kids are now safe, which is the number one priority."

Ruby Franke's husband, Kevin Franke, issued a statement via his lawyer, who said that Kevin's "urgent focus is simply to keep his children together under his fatherly care."

TV star claims COVID led him to start therapy

Simon Cowell wishes he'd done it sooner. But it's only recently that the infamously gruff and grumpy British music executive, who shot to fame as a judge on the original version of "American Idol" and created "America's Got Talent" and other shows, decided to prioritize his mental health and try therapy for the first time.

"I've suffered from depression over the years… but that was just something I just thought, 'Well, that's my character trait. I get down,' and it's something you deal with," he explained on the first episode of The Mirror's "Men in Mind" podcast, which was produced in partnership with the mental health organization Mind and debuted in August 2023.

Though there were a few bumps along the way, he's found it incredibly helpful. "I wish I had done this 10 or 20 years ago… it's like a weight has lifted off my shoulders," Simon, 63, said. "When I see my friends, the first thing I talk about is how therapy has had this super positive effect on my life.

"Now I am happy to talk about it to encourage others too," he added.

Why he finally tried therapy

Why did Simon Cowell wait until he was in his 60s to try therapy? "I suppose COVID was the real catalyst," he explained on an August 2023 episode of The Mirror's "Men in Mind" podcast, which was produced in partnership with the mental health organization Mind.

He was in a near-constant state of anxiety during the pandemic because "in the very, very, very early stages, some friends of mine got really ill [with COVID] and I'm talking about really ill. So I thought, 'God, if I catch this, maybe the same thing's going to happen to me, Eric and Lauren,'" he explained. (Simon shares a son, Eric, 9, with fiancée Lauren Silverman, 46.)

Though he stayed informed by reading and watching the news, "I didn't know what was true or not, I just didn't have a clue other than I was petrified about catching it. Just petrified," he added, calling the period a "nightmare." When he eventually did get sick with COVID, he was lucky to not suffer any lingering effects. But it all made him want to improve his mental health.

"It gave me time to reflect on things in a way I never would have done before," he explained, "and as things started to calm down a bit, and it was almost like now I've got to go from there, back into the real world. How do I feel about that? And that's when this whole notion of — I started to hear a lot more people talking about mental health."

He did some research

Simon Cowell told the podcast he's "curious by nature," so he started to do some reading about mental health and talk to friends who'd been in therapy.

"As things [with COVID] started to calm down a bit and it was almost like now I've got to go from there back into the real world, how do I feel about that?" he said. "So I started to read up about stuff, teach myself. Then fortunately I met some friends who had benefited from therapy. And that's when I thought, 'You know what? I've kind of looked after my body through diet and exercise, pretty well over the years, but what have I done about my brain and my mind?'"

"And the answer is nothing. And now's the time to do it. So it was almost like my head going to the gym," he said.

He had some preconceived notions

Watching American TV while growing up in England, Simon Cowell noticed that characters often talked about going to therapy. He used to feel, he told The Mirror's "Men in Mind" podcast, that it was "dramatic" and "over the top" and he couldn't relate to it being a Brit.

"I never took [the idea of therapy] seriously, if I'm being honest," Simon said on the podcast, as reported by People magazine. "It was only like I said, having gone through something pretty traumatic [with the COVID pandemic] that I realized, and like I said, having good friends who were very open about it."

How he got started

Simon Cowell had no idea how to find a therapist, he told The Mirror's "Men in Mind" podcast. He'd ask friends, "'Well, where do I start?'" he recalled. "And they just said, 'Well, you've got to find someone you clicked with.' And what if you don't? 'Well, then you go to somebody else,'" he said, remembering their conversations.

He finally found someone but felt embarrassed when he went in for his first therapy session — though that feeling quickly changed. "I sat down really embarrassed and I said, 'Look I just don't know where to start,'" Simon recalled. "And within about 20 minutes it was as if I'd known him for 10, 20 years, he'd put me so much at ease, and you realize you're talking to a professional, and they don't judge you, they listen to you."

One example of how therapy has helped

As he began to regularly attend therapy sessions, Simon Cowell started working through some of his issues, he said on The Mirror's "Men in Mind" podcast. For example, he explained, therapy inspired him to tell his staff to stop sharing ratings for his TV shows with him.

"[My therapist] asked me, 'Do you consider your best work to be the highest rated thing you've ever done?'" Simon recalled. "And I said, 'No.' And he said, 'So why are you judging yourself on that?' It was just like this massive load lifting off my shoulders."

"I sent an email [to my staff] saying, 'That's it. I don't want to know about ratings anymore.' And it's quite incredible because it now doesn't feel like you're chasing something," he said. "You're just making something you like in the hope that other people like it as well. If they don't, they don't," he added of his previously unhealthy obsession with ratings.

How his perspective has changed

Simon Cowell hopes others, especially men, will change their minds about therapy.

"There's nothing to be fearful of and no one's going to look at you or judge you differently," he told The Mirror's "Men in Mind" podcast. "I think particularly men, as a kid especially, it was always, 'Don't cry … be a man. But it's nothing to be ashamed of and it's healthy to almost go the other way.

"We're not all made of steel and there's going to be times in our lives where you just need somebody to talk to," he said.

Keanu Reeves was born in Beirut, Lebanon, in 1964 to a Hawaiian father ("Keanu" in Hawaiian means "cool breeze over the mountains") and an English mother. He bounced around with his mom after his dad left the family when he was just a kid, eventually landing in Toronto, where he cut his teeth acting in local theater productions, in commercials and on various Canadian TV shows. The same year Keanu Reeves made his feature film debut in "Youngblood," he appeared in two more films and four TV movies — most notably "River's Edge." Critics loved the low-budget crime-drama, in which a pre-fame Ione Skye made her big-screen debut.

Keanu Reeves closed out 1986 by appearing alongside Googy Gress and Jill Schoelen in NBC's "Babes in Toyland." He and the actress, who was later engaged to Brad Pitt, dated around the time that they co-starred in the made-for-TV movie.

After appearing in several forgettable films, Keanu Reeves finally scored a major breakthrough when he was cast as Le Chevalier Raphael Danceny — who memorably duels John Malkovich's Vicomte Sébastien de Valmont — in the lauded 1988 drama "Dangerous Liaisons." The young star may not have won any awards for his performance as the common-born music teacher, but the movie cleaned up at the Academy Awards, winning best adapted screenplay, best set design and best costume design. It also earned Oscar nominations for best picture, best original score, best lead actress for Glenn Close and best supporting actress for Michelle Pfeiffer.

Keanu Reeves officially arrived in 1989 when he and Alex Winter starred as the titular high school slackers in "Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure." The beloved comedy spawned a 1991 sequel, "Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey," and an eponymous two-season animated series on which Keanu voiced Ted. He and Alex returned as their iconic alter egos in 2020's "Bill & Ted Face the Music."

The hits just kept coming! Keanu Reeves scored cult status yet again when he starred opposite Patrick Swayze as rookie FBI Agent Johnny Utah, who goes undercover with a gang of bank robbing surfers, in 1991's "Point Break." The action flick helped Keanu take home his first big award — most desirable male — during the 1992 MTV Movie Awards!

Keanu Reeves convinced his pal River Phoenix to co-star with him in the edgy Gus Van Sant-directed 1991 indie drama "My Own Private Idaho," which went on to win three Independent Spirit Awards: best screenplay, best music and best male lead for River, who died two years after the film debuted. The two young stars were incredibly close leading up to his death.

Keanu Reeves starred as Jonathan Harker, who marries Winona Ryder's Mina, in the 1992 gothic-horror film "Bram Stoker's Dracula." In 2018, the actress said she was "convinced" that she and her co-star "really did get married" while shooting the Francis Ford Coppola-directed drama because they filmed with "a real Romanian priest" who officiated an entire wedding ceremony for them so that filmmakers could pick and choose which parts of the scene they wanted to use for the movie, which went on to win three Oscars. Keanu and his "wife" have since co-starred in three more films together.

Around the time that Francis Ford Coppola directed Keanu Reeves in "Bram Stoker's Dracula," the young actor became friendly with the famed director's daughter, Sofia Coppola. The duo arrived arm-in-arm to the Seventh Annual Independent Spirit Awards at Raleigh Studios in Hollywood in March 1992, but despite how things might have appeared, the pair have denied that they were ever anything more than friends.

Not everything was perfect for Keanu Reeves as his career took off in the early '90s. He put his modeling skills to use when he posed for a mug shot after he was arrested for DUI in Los Angeles in May 1993.

Country music star Kellie Pickler, 37, has finally broken her silence six months after her husband of 12 years, songwriter Kyle Jacobs, died by suicide at 49 on Feb. 17, 2023.

"One of the most beautiful lessons my husband taught me was in a moment of a crisis, if you don't know what to do, 'do nothing, just be still,'" Kellie Pickler told People magazine in a statement marking her first public comments following the February 2023 death of her husband of 12 years, songwriter Kyle Jacobs. "I have chosen to heed his advice."

"Thank you to my family, friends, and supporters, for the countless letters, calls, and messages that you have sent my way," Kellie continued. "It has truly touched my soul and it's helping me get through the darkest time in my life. As many of you have told me, you are all in my prayers."

In an Aug. 17, 2023, statement to People magazine, country music singer Kellie Pickler announced plans to have a memorial service for her late spouse, songwriter Kyle Jacobs. "I am planning an intimate memorial for my husband, which will happen later this fall," she wrote, adding, "that is what Kyle would have wanted." She signed her statement, "Love & Blessings, Kellie."

On Feb. 17, 2023, Kyle Jacobs — a songwriter who penned tunes for everyone from wife Kellie Pickler and stars like Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw and Kelly Clarkson to Wynonna Judd, Trace Adkins, Lee Brice, Clay Walker and others — died at 49 at his Tennessee home. The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department told E! News, Variety and other outlets in a statement at the time that "Mr. Jacobs' wife, Kellie Pickler, reported that she awoke a short time earlier, did not see her husband, and began looking for him. After she and her personal assistant were unable to open the door to the upstairs bedroom/office, the assistant telephoned 911." Early reports suggested that Kyle passed away in a suspected suicide.

On May 9, 2023 — nearly three months after songwriter Kyle Jacobs died — Taste of Country obtained a report from the Davidson County Medical Examiner confirming that toxicology tests revealed there were no drugs in his system when he died. "Adult white male with a history of pseudoseizures, gastrointestinal bleeding, elevated liver enzymes and chronic alcohol use suffered a self-inflicted shotgun wound," his autopsy report stated.

With Ozempic — the diabetes medication that doubles as a quick weight-loss aid — dominating headlines, it's only natural that some of our favorite stars have weighed in on the drug. We're rounding up all the celebrities who've denied taking the medication, starting with this blonde beauty…

On the Aug. 1, 2023, episode of "Watch What Happens Live," Erika Jayne denied that Ozempic was behind her recent slim-down and insisted that menopause was the reason for her noticeable weight loss. After host Andy Cohen told the "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star that she looked like a "whisper of herself," Erika replied, "Yes, I did come down in weight, and I did it hormonally." The response prompted Andy to fire back, "Not Ozempic-ally?" Claimed Erika, who turned 52 in July 2023, "I was going through menopause. So I took it all down."

When fellow guest Jackie Hoffman expressed doubt that anyone loses weight when they go through menopause, Erika again insisted she did, saying, "I went to the doctor and I said get it off me."

During an interview with "Extra" following the late August 2023 debut of her "Bet It All On Blonde" Las Vegas residency show, Erika doubled down on her defense: "My answer stands then and it stands now," she said. "I've always been tiny. I got bigger during all of my depression and through everything else. There's nothing like putting on a show and a little bit of stress … to get you right back into shape." … Sure, if you say so, Erika!

After following her life for the last 13 years on "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," fans were stunned to see Kyle Richards slim down significantly in recent months. In January 2023, when followers suggested she was on Ozempic as Page Six reposted some of her slim bikini snaps on Instagram, Kyle fired back in the comment section, responding, "I am NOT taking Ozempic. Never have." When another commenter said it was likely plastic surgery, Kyle got defensive, writing, "I have never tried Ozempic and this is not from plastic surgery. I did have a breast reduction in May. I'm honest about what I do. But if giving plastic surgery the credit makes you feel better, then pop off, sister."

Despite Kyle's denial, stars like Jeff Lewis continued to fuel speculation — even if it was meant in jest. On an August 2023 episode of "Watch What Happens Live," the famed interior designer from Bravo's "Flipping Out" quipped that Kyle's a "lesbian on Ozempic" — a reference to unsubstantiated claims that Kyle was dating female country singer Morgan Wade amid the "RHOBH" star's separation from husband Mauricio Umansky, which she's denied.

Jessica Simpson showed off a much slimmer figure in 2023, leading fans to speculate it was due to Ozempic. The former pop star addressed the rumors during a July interview with Bustle, insisting, "Oh, Lord. I mean, it is not [Ozempic], it's willpower. I'm like, do people want me to be drinking again? Because that's when I was heavier. Or they want me to be having another baby? My body can't do it… Am I going to let the negativity derail me? No, I'm too old for that. I am too connected to myself right now to let that derail me. It doesn't mean that it doesn't hurt."

Though she claims she was offered the drug just weeks after giving birth to her second daughter, Meghan McCain has shut down allegations she'd take Ozempic. She wrote an op-ed for DailyMail.com in which she shared, "I was even offered a black market freebie by someone with 'extra shots at home.' … Let me make one thing very clear. I'm not taking it. I refuse. There's a clear moral issue here. It's hard to take a drug because swimsuit season is around the corner, while others need it to stay alive. And how can this be healthy?"

Former "Vanderpump Rules" star Brittany Cartwright has been open about her weight loss struggles and has partnered with Jenny Craig to slim down in the past. But when a fan accused her in her Instagram comments of using Ozempic to drop pounds, the star responded, "It's actually the .5 zoom on the iPhone camera lol".

"The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Crystal Kung Minkoff has discussed her issues with body image and her battle with an eating disorder on the Bravo series. She opened up to Page Six about the temptation to take Ozempic, saying, "Of course I've thought about it… But it's not a good place for me, personally, for my recovery."

After a 15-pound weight loss, Julia Fox addressed Ozempic rumors on a March 2023 episode of her podcast, "Forbidden Fruits." Julia denied using the diabetes medication, revealing, "All these people are coming for me saying that I take the weight loss things … people are saying that I'm taking Ozempic or whatever it's called… I'm not and I never have … I would never do that. There are diabetics that need it."

Khloe Kardashian often makes headlines for her appearance, so it was only a matter of time before rumors swirled that her weight loss might be the result of using Ozempic. The reality star opted to put a stop to the rumors in January 2023, responding to an Instagram comment with a denial that read, "Let's not discredit my years of working out. I get up 5 days a week at 6am to train. Please stop with your assumptions. I guess new year still means mean people."

Viewers have seen "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" star Jackie Goldschneider's eating disorder battle firsthand, so it was only natural for the reality star to weigh in on the weight loss trend taking the Bravo world by storm. Jackie shared with Page Six, "A lot of people in the 'Housewives' world are on Ozempic. A lot of my friends are in the 'Housewives' world, so it was tough for me to come back and suddenly no one's eating when we go out to dinner… I'm horrified by it. I'm not so much horrified by people wanting to lose weight — that has always been a universal thing — but I'm very very scared of what will happen if and when people have to go off this drug."

In April 2023, Keke Palmer weighed in on the Ozempic craze. While speaking to People magazine, she shared, "Sounds like it's a slay honey, 'cause girls have been out here killin' it with it, but for me, I would say 'Nay' because I always feel like when something sounds too good to be true — it usually is… It might do something and then next thing you know, I've got something growing, you know, under my armpits, like I don't know where… where you pushing this fat at, where you taking, where you pulling from — I don't want any side effects, so — but the girls are killin' it."

After viewers saw Alexia Nepola and co-star Marysol Patton receiving a mysterious shot at a doctor's office on "The Real Housewives of Miami," it was only natural that they came to the conclusion that the Bravo stars had joined the legions of "Housewives" stars taking the drug. But Alexia shut down the Ozempic speculation in March 2023, telling Page Six they were vitamin B12 shots. "It's for energy, and it has, like, other nutrients," she said.

Since it appears "Real Housewives" have an affinity for Ozempic, "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Garcelle Beauvais was also accused of using the medication. The reality star took to X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, to fire off a response, writing, "Don't even start with that Ozempic thing I'm not playing with that!!!"

She's still working today: Julie created the 2017 Netflix show "Julie's Greenroom" with daughter Emma (whose father is Julie's first husband, set designer Tony Walton). It's only fitting that Italian siren Sophia Loren, who was born in 1934, makes the cut, as she got into acting by way of beauty pageants! Transitioning into acting in the '50s, the gorgeous gal was quickly signed by Paramount for a five-picture deal in 1956. She earned an Academy Award for best actress less than a decade later for her work in 1962's "Two Women."

After having two children with husband Carlo Ponti, sons Carlo Ponti Jr. and Edoardo, Sophia opted to step away from the spotlight, only taking on occasional roles.

Thighmaster extraordinaire and "Three's Company" star Suzanne Somers, who was born in 1946, starred as Chrissy Snow on the famous sitcom in the '70s before building a varied career that included stints in Playboy, a bevy of infomercial campaigns and a role as a mom of many on "Step By Step" in the '90s. From there, she had her own daytime talk show for a season, hosted "Candid Camera," performed on Broadway in her own one-woman show and penned several books. Two of those non-fiction books are based on controversial practices in the health industry, including bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (her book "Ageless") and exploring alternative treatments to chemotherapy (her book "Knockout").

The duo's duets charted high, which helped Dolly carve out her own successful solo career marked by her biggest hit, "Jolene," in 1973, which she followed up with hits "I Will Always Love You" and "Love Is Like a Butterfly" that same year. Her career has continued to soar through the years, so much so that in 1998, she was named the wealthiest country music star. In 2019, she starred on Netflix's "Dolly Parton's Heartstrings" and in 2020, she starred in the holiday film "Christmas on the Square."

In recent years, the Dollywood theme park founder's net worth has been estimated at around $500 million. The bubbly blonde has been married to Carl Thomas Dean since 1966.

Though she started in the modeling world, Charlotte quickly transitioned to film, starring in European arthouse flicks in three different languages — English, French and Italian. The trilingual beauty also found work on the small screen, earning an Emmy nomination for her performance in the 2012 miniseries "Restless" and a Golden Globe nomination for her work on "London Spy" in 2017. She also starred on the cult classic "Dexter" and released her autobiography in both French and English editions. In July 2023, Ricky Martin and Jwan Yosef announced that they're divorcing after six years of marriage.

On Aug. 31, TMZ reported that the music star and the artist had already reached a settlement in their divorce: New court documents show the former couple entered into an uncontested written agreement to divide their property and marriage rights — including support payments — and are asking a judge to sign off on their deal so that their divorce can be finalized. Details of the settlement, however, have not been publicly disclosed.

The swiftness of their settlement process, which came so soon after their public split announcement, is not surprising, however, based on details Ricky shared with Telemundo just weeks earlier.

When they really separated

During an interview with Telemundo that emerged on Aug. 3, Grammy-winning music star Ricky Martin revealed that though he and estranged husband Jwan Yosef announced the end of their marriage in July 2023, they actually started the process of separating years ago. "This is not a recent decision. We have been planning this situation for a long time — it's pre-pandemic," the gay icon said, adding that he and his ex "had already gone through a grieving process" when they announced earlier in the summer that they were going their separate ways following six years of marriage.

Their children

Ricky Martin further told Telemundo that he and Jwan Yosef will "always be family" — they plan to co-parent the two children they welcomed together via surrogate during their marriage (Lucia, who was born in 2018, and Renn, who arrived in 2019), while Ricky will raise his two older children (twins Matteo and Valentino, who were born via surrogate in 2008) as a single parent — and are "better than ever" in the wake of their split.

"We look into each other's eyes and smile. We hug each other. We go through the ups and downs. We cry together and we laugh together," Ricky said in Spanish, according to a translation by Hola!, adding that their children "never saw a fight" between them because they "resolved our differences with a good talk, maybe in our room." When they told their kids they were divorcing, the little ones replied, "Don't do it for us, we're OK," Ricky said.

Not what they expected

Navigating a separation and divorce has not been a miserable experience for music star Ricky Martin and artist Jwan Yosef. "It has been wonderful. I even told Jwan we should write a book about how to get divorced properly," Ricky told Telemundo. "In fact, if someone is getting divorced, come and talk to us because we already have this figured out. It has been much easier than we thought, but we've done it with time and calmness."

Moving on with another man?

Ricky Martin is in a head space to move on romantically a month after announcing his split from husband Jwan Yosef. He told Telemundo he wants "to have a good time" and "enjoy life" now that he's back on the market. "I do see myself in another relationship. I'm not talking about the near future, but I like being in love, I like being in a relationship, I like waking up in the morning to a morning kiss, breakfast, and complicity," the former Menudo singer said after clarifying that he's in no rush to enter another relationship right away.

On Aug. 24, 2023 — 10 days after a grand jury issued an indictment accusing former President Donald Trump of attempting to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia after he lost to President Joe Biden, marking his fourth criminal indictment in a matter of months — the Republican politician surrendered to authorities at Atlanta's Fulton County Jail (see his mugshot and read his response next).

The charges — including felony racketeering and multiple conspiracy claims — were brought by Georgia's Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis (pictured). Eighteen of the Republican presidential nominee frontrunner's allies and associates, including attorneys Rudy Giuliani and John Eastman plus White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, were also indicted in the probe of alleged attempts to subvert the 2020 election results.

On Aug. 21, the former reality star was incredulous about his looming surrender in a post on his Truth Social platform: "Can you believe it? I'll be going to Atlanta, Georgia, on Thursday to be ARRESTED by a Radical Left District Attorney, Fani Willis, who is overseeing one of the greatest Murder and Violent Crime DISASTERS in American History. In my case, the trip to Atlanta is not for 'Murder,' but for making a PERFECT PHONE CALL! She campaigned, and is continuing to campaign, and raise money on, this WITCH HUNT. This is in strict coordination with Crooked Joe Biden's DOJ. It is all about ELECTION INTERFERENCE!" he wrote.

After Donald Trump was booked in Atlanta's Fulton County Jail on Aug. 24 — his fourth criminal arrest of 2023, this time in a racketeering case in which he's been accused of conspiring to reverse his 2020 election loss in Georgia — Georgia's Fulton County Sheriff's Office released this mug shot of the Republican politician.

His booking was speedy: According to reports, it only took 20 minutes before he exited the jail and left for the airport, where he briefly spoke to reporters on the tarmac, telling them the charges are a "travesty of justice." He also insisted, "you should be able to challenge an election."

After being processed and posting a $200,000 bond, he was listed in the Fulton County booking system as having "blonde or strawberry" hair, standing 6 foot 3 inches tall and weighing 215 pounds. (According to The New York Times, that's 24 pounds less than the White House doctor reported he weighed in 2018.) Media outlets confirmed that the politician self-reported his stats to the jail.

On Aug. 21, Donald Trump made light of the bail bond he was expected to pay when he surrendered to Georgia authorities in Atlanta on Thursday, Aug. 24: "The failed District Attorney of Fulton County (Atlanta), Fani Willis, insisted on a $200,000 Bond from me. I assume, therefore, that she thought I was a 'flight' risk – I'd fly far away, maybe to Russia, Russia, Russia, share a gold domed suite with Vladimir, never to be seen or heard from again. Would I be able to take my very 'understated' airplane with the gold TRUMP affixed for all to see. Probably not, I'd be much better off flying commercial – I'm sure nobody would recognize me!" he wrote on his Truth Social platform.

The day he was indicted in Georgia, Donald Trump posted this message: "So, the Witch Hunt continues! 19 people Indicated tonight, including the former President of the United States, me, by an out of control and very corrupt District Attorney who campaigned and raised money on, 'I will get Trump.' The impact of those investments will be felt in the months leading up to the holidays, Kevin said: "This gets worse before it gets better. And what's it doing to small business? Killing them right now," he told Fox Business's Larry Kudlow.

With mortgage interest rates at a 22-year-high and rumors of a recession still looming, Kevin O'Leary told Fox Business's Larry Kudlow, "What I anticipate is going to happen here, while we still have full employment which is remarkable, and you don't put any capital into the small business sector, which is 60% of the jobs in America, you're going to start to see some real chaos come September, October, November. This is an issue for Congress, Larry. It's very simple."

Based on the numbers, the U.S. economy has remained rather resilient, but Kevin O'Leary thinks mistakes were made, claiming the government "gave all their money to S&P 500 in two acts, the Chips and Science Act and the other, Inflation Reduction Act."

He added in an interview with Fox Business's Larry Kudlow, "Not a dime for small business. A trillion for the big boys, nothing for the small guys. And the small guys, they run America, so it has to be rebalanced somewhere."

Kevin O'Leary's prediction came after the Fed chair, Jay Powell, claimed another interest rate hike isn't out of the question.

"We are prepared to raise rates further if appropriate and intend to hold policy at a restrictive level until we are confident that inflation is moving sustainably down toward our objective," he said on Aug. 25.

In a separate interview with Fox News, Kevin O'Leary was asked about Warren Buffett selling $8 billion worth of stock. Some took this action as a sign that the Nebraska-based investor is betting on a downturn in the stock market.

The "Shark Tank" star reacted with what equated to a yawn: "Warren Buffett selling $8 billion worth of stock is a rounding error in his portfolio. It's almost meaningless. It doesn't matter," Kevin told Fox Business's Larry Kudlow. "He's just trying to stay diversified, and my bet is that sale is actually one of his new managers just trimming a portfolio, and that's why the market doesn't care that much about it."

Jessie James Decker is pregnant with her fourth child and she's preparing for one big change… well, two big changes.

During a late August 2023 Q&A with fans on Instagram after she announced her pregnancy, the country music singer was asked if she's "nervous" about breastfeeding considering she has breast implants. "No, I've had implants and nursed just fine," she replied. However, the real concern for Jessie is the inevitable increase in the size of her breasts, which she believes will "quadruple."

The "Southern Girl City Lights" singer went on to detail why she now regrets her implants — but probably not for the reason you assume.

Jessie James Decker and her husband, former NFL star Eric Decker, didn't plan to have a fourth child (and they've admitted as much).

Although she's thrilled they're adding to their family, there's an issue: "I will say the issue is if I had known we were going to have another, I wouldn't have gone so big," she said of her implants in a late-August Instagram Story post. "Cus when I'm pregnant, they get massive. Like quadruple in size."

After welcoming her fourth child, Jessie James Decker plans to go under the knife again for a breast reduction surgery. "Def will need a reduction in the future and will downsize. It was fun while it lasted. But phew dey bigz already and I'm over it. Give me some shmediumz," she joked.

Jessie and her husband, Eric Decker, are already parents to Vivianne, 9, Eric Jr., 7, and Forrest, 5.

The fact that Jessie James Decker and Eric Decker are having another child is surprising, but it shouldn't be — especially after Eric "refused" to get a vasectomy earlier this year.

"He won't. He just won't do it," Jessie told Us Weekly in January. "He says it takes, like, his manhood away from him."

Days after she shared her pregnancy news, Jessie took to her Instagram Story to share more with her followers, admitting she and Eric were "very, very, very surprised" to learn she was pregnant again. "It was not planned," she said on Aug. 27. "As you know, I had been telling Eric it was probably time to get a vasectomy because I felt like we were done," she explained. "But I just feel like God always has other plans. It was extremely shocking and surprising but [we are] happy excited."

Jessie James Decker went under the knife after she welcomed her third child, Forrest Bradley, in 2018. "I had [a] breast reduction and lift a couple years ago when they were hanging down to my belly button," she wrote on Instagram in May 2021, explaining that she'd decided to go under the knife again due to "having such elastic skin and not being happy with the size."

The post hints that the couple — they're both avid runners — will be participating in the upcoming New York City Marathon. Earlier this year, they ran in the New York City Half Marathon.

On Nov. 30, 2022, DailyMail.com published a bombshell story alleging that Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes — who were both married to other people at the time — had evolved their friendship into a romantic relationship many months earlier.

In the wake of the scandal, ABC pulled both Amy and T.J. off the air on Dec. 5 while the network's president figured out the next steps. Nearly two months later on Jan. 27, 2023, both were let go. "After several productive conversations … about different options, we all agreed it's best for everyone that they move on from ABC News," an ABC News spokesperson said. Both T.J. and Amy divorced their respective spouses.

After their romance came to light, both Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes went dark on Instagram.

At the time, friends reflected on the couple's interactions with one another: "There were rumors they were having an affair about a year ago," a source told People magazine in November 2022. "A lot of people believed there might have been some truth to it, because you can see there's a mutual affection there. But everyone ultimately chalked it up to friendship because they always said they were both happily married."

Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes haven't hidden their relationship since it made headlines in late 2022. They've been photographed together in New York City, Los Angeles, Miami and Mexico.

They reportedly hope to work together again sometime soon: "They absolutely believe that their chemistry would sell, because it sold at ABC," an insider told Page Six in March 2023, adding that the pair previously "sold this brother/sister chemistry" but are now "selling sex."

The couple is reportedly using another real-life duo as their on-air inspiration, the source continued, explaining that Amy and T.J. are "pitching a show à la Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos."

The insider noted that while Amy and T.J. received lucrative severance packages from ABC after they got the boot from the network, they'll have to work eventually.

Amy's ex-husband, "Melrose Place" star Andrew Shue, reportedly bought Amy and T.J.'s online domain names in case they ever decide to start a podcast or website together, People magazine reported.

In May 2023, DailyMail.com reportedly that Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes were moving in together and were ready to "further cement their relationship."

"This time, Lordy, I even got invited to have tea with Kate but I couldn't even go," she said during an appearance on the British radio station BBC Radio 2. "I thought it was very sweet and nice of her to invite me and one of these days I'm going to get to do that — that would be great."

Dolly Parton — who was in London for a run of concerts in August 2023 — gave a classic answer when asked on BBC Radio 2 why she passed on her chance to have tea with Princess Kate — presumably at Kensington Palace.

"She wasn't going to promote my rock album, so I had to say no," the iconic singer joked.

Dolly's 49th studio album, "Rockstar," is set to debut in November.

Not only did Dolly Parton not really have time for Princess Kate, but the 77-year-old country music legend also didn't really get the opportunity to take in the sights of London — at least not this time around.

"I love the people, the feel of London. I don't unfortunately [get time to sightsee]. I have in the past, me and my band, in a tour bus when we have it planned," she told BBC Radio 2.

While many performers around Dolly Parton's age have long retired to comfortably rest on their laurels, the same can't be said for the 77-year-old "9 to 5" singer, who's previously noted that she has no plans to call it quits.

"I would never retire. I would hopefully drop dead in the middle of a song on stage someday — and hopefully one I've written — but that's how I hope to go," she once told Ken Bruce during an appearance on the U.K.'s Greatest Hits Radio network. "I don't have much of a choice in that but in the meantime, I'm going to make hay while the sun shines."

Although Dolly Parton wants to return to London — and score another coveted invitation to tea with Princess Kate — she has no idea when she'll go back across the pond, particularly given that she's scaled back on touring.

"I'm not touring anymore but I will continue to do special shows here and there now and then like a long weekend or festival shows," she said on Greatest Hits Radio. "But as far as touring, I think those days are pretty much behind me. … You have to stay gone so long on a tour to make it productive and prosperous, and that's a lot of time at my age — I ain't got no years to waste."

With no plans for a proper tour, Dolly Parton hopes to remain on people's minds and in fans' sights: "I want to have my own story called 'The Life of Many Colors' where I have a whole TV series of my life," she said. "Stuff that people haven't seen or heard about me and where I come from and how I got to be how and who I am. The bad, the good and the ugly!"

"So that's one thing I want to do and then just host more TV shows, do more movies. I want to have my own line of makeup, own line of wigs and clothes," she continued. "Once you get to a certain place in your career you get a lot of offers and some of them are just really hard to turn down."

It's one of the most bizarre stories of the year. Josh Seiter, who appeared on "The Bachelorette" in 2015, is alive, he announced on Aug. 29 — one day after his Instagram account shared a very detailed post announcing that he'd passed away a day earlier.

The reality TV star, who's been open about his battles with depression and anxiety, claimed someone hacked his Instagram account and shared the post as part of a "cruel joke."

On Tuesday, Aug. 29, Josh Seiter said in an Instagram video that he's "alive and well."

"My account was hacked. For the last 24 hours, I've been trying desperately to get into it. Somebody was playing a cruel joke and mocking my mental illness and the struggles I've gone through with depression and suicide attempts, and I'm sorry for all the pain they caused when they made that post. I just got back into my account," he said.

"I'm going to do all I can with my team to try to identify who was behind this. But again, I apologize for the confusion," he continued.

Amid speculation that Josh Seiter staged an elaborate death hoax, he told Entertainment Weekly via email, "As a mental health advocate, issues of suicide are very sensitive for me. To suggest that I would orchestrate a death post around that issue is sickening. I have dedicated the last 8 years of my life blogging and raising awareness about mental health, and I will continue to do so. Regardless of what my detractors have to say."

He added that the "ridiculous accusations" are "made up" by people with "nothing better to do with their time."

On Monday, Aug. 28, Josh Seiter's Instagram account shared a statement announcing his death that appeared as though it had been written by his family.

"It is with an extremely heavy heart that we share the tragic news of Joshua's unexpected passing," the since-deleted statement read. "As all who knew him can attest, Joshua was an incredibly bright light in an increasingly dim world. His fearless voice and indomitable spirit helped thousands of people in their darkest moments feel just a little less alone."

"Although our heartache at Joshua's passing pains us beyond measure, we find comfort knowing that he is finally at peace. We hope and pray that his spirit can continue to live on in the pictures and words on this page, which we will leave up for the time being," the statement continued.

It concluded with a plea for people struggling with their mental health to call a suicide prevention hotline, implying that Josh had taken his own life.

Josh Seiter's final Instagram post preceding the "death hoax" addressed his mental health struggles: "Surviving depression and anxiety one day at a time with a smile," he captioned a photo of himself on Aug. 24.

He previously wrote of himself on social media, "I'm Josh Seiter, and I'm a suicide attempt survivor. I battle OCD, Bipolar Depression, and GAD, but I refuse to give up. What did you survive?"

Josh Seiter found fame during his brief stint on Kaitlyn Bristowe's season of "The Bachelorette." Fans remember him for ripping off his shirt upon meeting the star of season 11, which aired in 2015. He was eliminated during the first week of the competition.

The story obviously shook up Josh Seiter's "The Bachelorette" co-stars. Shawn Booth — who ended up winning their season when he captured Kaitlyn Bristowe's heart (they split in 2018) — was in the middle of an interview with "Extra" when Josh revealed that he was "alive and well."

"That's great news, obviously. … Wow, that's insane, that's absolutely crazy," Shawn said. "That's wild. … I mean, people are sick too. … It's a relief for everybody."

Shawn, who admitted he hasn't spoken to Josh since that first night on "The Bachelorette," has often been a champion for mental health awareness. "I don't know what you can do to prevent hackers, but I feel like there's gotta be a quicker solution from these social media accounts where you can let them know something's going on and then they can immediately fix the situation," he said.

Monica Beverly Hillz, who briefly dated Josh Seiter years ago, also weighed in on the hoax. The reality star, who's best known for work on "RuPaul's Drag Race," posted the following on Instagram, "Everyone deserves grace, but unfortunately I can't help but think that he was able to pull this stunt as a cisgender white man — acting like he was dead — when so many of my sisters and trans women of color have been brutally murdered this year and the same love and support isn't show to them." Monica later told Entertainment Weekly, "I'm happy he's alive, I'm happy he's here, but this is so infuriating to me."

Meghan Markle can cash in on her following when she's ready. In early August, reports claimed the Duchess had secured an Instagram handle under the name Meghan. She has yet to post anything to the account, but that's expected to change as the duchess plans to "relaunch" herself, a new report says.

The royal's last Instagram account, @sussexroyal, which she shared with husband Prince Harry, was deactivated back in 2020 when they stepped down from their positions as senior royals.

Meghan Markle has never confirmed that she is the person behind the @Meghan Instagram handle, but sources indicate she is. "Yes, that's her. Expect an announcement very soon. She's coming back," a source told DailyMail.com.

Several of Meghan's friends — including activist Mandana Dayani, who served as president of Archewell, the Sussexes' media and philanthropic company, until December 2022 — already follow the account.

In addition, Meghan revealed in an interview last year that she plans to return to Instagram.

A social media expert notes that Meghan Markle's return to Instagram is inevitable. "I would expect her to quickly become one of the most followed accounts on Instagram," adviser Eric Schiffer told DailyMail.com in a Saturday, Aug. 26, report. "I don't think Meghan coming back to Instagram will surprise anyone. She has a new talent manager and this is the next logical step."

"You have celebrities like the Kardashians who can command $1 million and up for a single post promoting a product. There is no reason Meghan couldn't be earning those sorts of fees," he added,

Without a single post, the @Megan account has already amassed nearly 120,000 followers on Instagram.

Meghan Markle could be one of the most influential people on Instagram as soon as she becomes active. Kent Moore, a marketing expert, told DailyMail.com, "I think she would instantly shoot into the top ten highest-paid influencers in the world. Her status is unique because she is a celebrity, actress and royalty."

"Meghan could charge a million dollars per post as an absolute minimum. That sum would rise quickly if her partnerships achieve global coverage and traction," he continued. "Brands could want to align with her for campaigns over a couple of years, featuring several posts and even personal appearances. Those type of deals could come in well over the $12 million mark and even as much as $20 million."

Unlike other celebrities who promote any and all products online, social media expert Eric Schiffer believes Meghan Markle needs to tread a little lightly.

"She has to be careful, as a duchess, to avoid being seen to be hawking every product under the sun," he told DailyMail.com. "She will align with quality brands and companies that are on point with her political and social beliefs."

One of the most unexpected celebrity summer romances has come to an end, according to a new report.

On Aug. 25, The U.S. Sun reported that an unexpected and low-key relationship that cropped up between actor Bill Murray, 72, and singer Kelis, 44, a few months earlier was now over — and that the widowed "Milkshake" singer, who's nearly three decades the comedy icon's junior, is the one who pulled the plug, a source told the outlet.

In June 2023, The U.S. Sun reported that "Caddyshack" and "Ghostbusters" star Bill Murray had been spending time with "Milkshake" singer Kelis, who's nearly 29 years his junior.

"They've met up in the States before, which got people in the industry talking, and now are meeting up in London while they're both here. They've clearly hit it off," a source told the tabloid in early June, noting that Bill, who was in London shooting a "Ghostbusters" sequel, was spotted on the side of the stage, where he watched the mother of three perform during the Mighty Hoopla festival in early June as well as other recent concerts.

On top of that, the actor, who was 72 at the time while Kelis was 43, "were both seen at the same hotel."

According to a source who spoke to The U.S. Sun in early June 2023, Bill Murray and Kelis may have discovered a connection because they "both shared relatively recent bereavements and have that common bond between them," noting that the singer's husband died from stomach cancer at 37 in 2022 while Bill's second ex-wife, with whom he has four adult sons, died in 2021.

"Whatever it is that has brought them together, and however unlikely it seems, they are both single and are having fun despite the fairly big age gap," added the source at the time.

In June 2023 after news broke claiming Bill Murray and Kelis were dating, Kelis told a fan on social media that she "wouldn't bother" to address the rumors.

She also responded to another of many who were asking for an explanation: "Lol yeah maybe for now everyone's dumb and will believe anything but the best part is we are both blessed, rich and happy," she wrote on social media.

As the summer of 2023 wound down, Kelis and Bill Murray went their separate ways, The U.S. Sun reported in late August.

"Kelis and Bill were — and still are — very fond of each other but things just ran their course. They both have busy schedules and after a whirlwind romance decided to go their separate ways," a source told the outlet. "They hope to remain friends but also plan to get on with their lives."

According to the source, the widowed mother of three is the one who called things off.

Mother-of-six Angelina Jolie hired daughter Viviene Jolie-Pitt, who's 15, to be her assistant as the Oscar winner produces the Broadway musical "The Outsiders," which is an adaptation of S.E. Hinton's 1967 novel of the same name.

Filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola adapted the book for the big screen back in 1983 with a film starring a slew of then-young stars including Tom Cruise, Rob Lowe, Matt Dillon, C. Thomas Howell, Patrick Swayze, Ralph Macchio, Emilio Estevez and Diane Lane.

Angelina Jolie released a statement to Page Six addressing her new working relationship with her youngest daughter, Vivienne Jolie-Pitt. "Viv reminds me of my mother [actress Marcheline Bertrand] in that she isn't focused on being the center of attention but in being a support to other creatives," Angelina said. "She's very thoughtful and serious about theater and working hard to best understand how to contribute."

Angelina previously explained her own involvement in the show, which she's producing alongside The Araca Group, American Zoetrope, Olympus Theatricals, Sue Gilad and Larry Rogowsky. "I studied at the Lee Strasberg Institute where I realized my first love, as a performer, was the theater. I had not found a way back until now," she said in a statement. "I hope to be able to contribute while continuing to learn from this amazing team, who I have been working with since my daughter brought me to see the show at La Jolla Playhouse."

According to a Page Six source, Vivienne Jolie-Pitt (center, with her mom and some of her siblings at a movie premiere in 2021) "fell in love" with "The Outsiders" after she saw a production of the musical in San Diego. "Angelina has been taking her daughter Vivienne to the theater since she was a little girl. Angelina and Vivienne met with S.E. Hinton, who was around Vivienne's age when she wrote the novel," the source said.

A second source added that Angelina "wants to ensure the ['The Outsiders'] team is listening and working with young people every step of the way, and that their voices are leading in bringing this production to life on Broadway."

Vivienne Jolie-Pitt may be new to the Great White Way, but she's no stranger to Hollywood: She made her acting debut portraying a younger version of Aurora in 2014's "Maleficent," which famously starred mom Angelina Jolie in the title role.

Vivienne was 4 at the time she filmed the Disney villain movie. According to Angelina, the part had to go to her youngest daughter because she was the only one willing to go near her when the star was in costume and makeup. "We think it's fun for our kids to have cameos and join us on set, but not to be actors. That's not the goal for Brad and me at all," Angelina told Entertainment Weekly while promoting the film. (She and third husband Brad Pitt were still a couple at the time.) "But the other 3- and 4-year-olds wouldn't come near me. It had to be a child that liked me and wasn't afraid of my horns and my eyes and my claws. So it had to be Viv."

'Wheel of Fortune' star stuck in 'stubborn stalemate' while fighting to get multiple millions more per year in contract dispute

Vanna White and "Wheel of Fortune" executives are slowly making progress on a new deal, but they're at a "stubborn stalemate," a new report claims.

For four decades, Vanna's salary has been significantly less than that of longtime "Wheel" co-host Pat Sajak, and the world's most famous letter-turner has reportedly not gotten a raise in 18 years. With Pat retiring at the end of next season and Ryan Seacrest set to take over, Vanna is using the moment to demand a major salary increase.

"Vanna and the producers are currently on a similar page and want to get a deal done but they both have a few hiccups to still clear through," a source told DailyMail.com. "They both know they have a lot of time to do it and more discussions to be had but everyone wants something achieved and wouldn't want Pat's last year hampered by the constant news of the revolving contract dispute drama. They want to celebrate this year with little to no drama whatsoever."

But unless something is done, drama will most certainly carry over into the season, as Vanna is reportedly standing firm on her salary demands …

According to TMZ, Vanna White wants half of what Pat Sajak makes, which is believed to be about $15 million a year. Vanna is arguing that she and Pat are introduced as equals on the show and she wants to be paid as such.

TMZ reported that the hostess has , stunningly, a salary of about $3 million a year, which has remained that way for 18 years: She hasn't received a pay increase in nearly two decades. "After 41 years as a model employee and more the face of that show than [Pat], asking for 50% of what he makes seems like a no-brainer," a source told the webloid. "Wheel" producers, however, don't see it that way, as negotiations have been "very difficult."

Vanna doesn't want to leave the show, but she will consider making an exit if she doesn't get what she believes is "a minimum of what is fair," according to TMZ. In asking to right the pay discrepancy, a source said Vanna "feels like it's a statement for all women."

Vanna White seems to have some negotiating power given that she's the on-camera link between the old era of "Wheel of Fortune" and the popular game show's new era.

"'Wheel' wants to make the transition between Pat and Ryan [Seacrest] seamless and having Vanna there would be wonderful to make that all happen," the DailyMail.com source said.

Given Vanna's age — she turned 66 in February — producers are viewing her next contract as her last contract. "There is a little more maneuverability to change things up in a few years when they look for her replacement," the source added. "Vanna is actually OK with that, she just wants a tremendous payday that the show isn't ready to even consider at this time. It is a matter of who is going to budge first, but they both aren't blinking yet. Vanna wants to go out on her terms and retire when she is ready with a nice paycheck to end it all."

On July 20, 2023, reports claimed Vanna White negotiated a new deal for "Celebrity Wheel of Fortune," but TMZ reported at the time that she and show producer Sony were still miles apart on a deal.

Sources told the webloid that Vanna's lawyer, Bryan Freedman, asked for a third party to evaluate Vanna's importance to the show and come up with a "fair figure," but Sony rejected the idea. Sony execs apparently believe Pat Sajak's $400,000-per-show paycheck was too much, so the company doesn't want to use his salary as a measuring stick. Vanna and her team, however, are sticking to their guns. "It's gonna get ugly if [Sony doesn't] get more serious," a source told TMZ.

Vanna's lawyer previously represented Tucker Carlson and Megyn Kelly.

Pat Sajak began his gig as "Wheel of Fortune" host in 1981. In June 2023, the game show icon announced his retirement. "Well, the time has come. I've decided that our 41st season, which begins in September [2023], will be my last," he said. "It's been a wonderful ride, and I'll have more to say in the coming months."

Two weeks later, Ryan Seacrest confirmed that he's taking over when Pat steps away: "I can't wait to continue the tradition of spinning the wheel and working alongside the great Vanna White," Ryan said in a statement.

Vanna White, however, might be MIA unless the money shows up.
