The Real Reason Ivanka Trump's Steering Clear of the White House: Family, Future or Something More?

Prioritizing Family Life
Ivanka Trump, 43, daughter of former President Donald Trump, 78, has chosen not to return to the White House for her father's second term to the disappointment of her fans. 

"The main reason I am not going back to serve now is I know the cost and it's a price that I'm not willing to make my kids bear," she revealed on the "Skinny Confidential" podcast. "My highest most core value is family. And my kids were much younger, so it was easier to not be present. But when you have kids that are teenagers, about to be teenagers, your physical presence matters so much."

Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner, 44, relocated to sunny Miami, Fla., while focusing on raising their three children. The couple has settled on Indian Creek Island, known as the "Billionaire's Bunker," where they enjoy a private and family-oriented lifestyle.

Emotional Toll of Previous Political Involvement
The couple's prior roles as senior White House advisers from 2017 to 2021 led to significant personal challenges, including the loss of friendships and social backlash. Ivanka has expressed that the experience "took its toll," influencing her decision to step back from the political world.
"I love policy and impact. I hate politics," she spilled on the program. "And unfortunately the two are not… there is a darkness to that world that I don't really want to welcome into mine. To some degree, I'm at the center of the storm because my father is about to be president. It's a very dark negative. And some people love like the gladiator aspect of it, you know, the fight that …  that was never me."
Focus on Private Ventures
Post-White House, Ivanka and Jared redirected their efforts toward private business endeavors. 
In November 2024, sources told The Cut that the incoming first daughter's spouse had been concentrating on his private equity firm Affinity Partners while Ivanka was exploring initiatives related to technology leadership and child safety.
They also revealed the former presidential advisers were "enjoying" life in Miami after "fleeing" the New York City social scene. 
Commitment to Personal Well-Being
Reflecting on her past experiences, and always one for healthy living advocacy, Ivanka highlighted the importance of setting boundaries and focusing on healing and positivity, seemingly indicating a shift toward prioritizing her personal well-being over political engagements.
On November 4 last year, which was Election Eve in America, Ivanka got philosophical on her Instagram by sharing, "'The price of anything is the amount of life you exchange for it.' – Henry David Thoreau. Spend your time and energy on what truly matters. 'Thinking is difficult; that's why most people judge.' – Carl Jung. What you judge, you cannot understand. Instead, observe, study, and learn."
Support from a Distance
While maintaining support for her father, Ivanka prefers to do so from afar this term, choosing not to engage directly in political activities but to remain a supportive daughter in her personal capacity.
"While I will always love and support my father, going forward I will do so outside the political arena," she said last October.

"We're rooting for him — obviously, we're proud of him," Jared told an outlet. "But, you know, either way, our life will just continue to move forward."

On Monday, January 13, it was announced Carrie Underwood would be performing "America the Beautiful" at President-elect Donald Trump's upcoming inauguration on Monday, January 20, at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.
"I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event," she said in a statement.

Smith's report asserts that if he didn't win the 2024 election, Trump would have faced conviction for his attempts to subvert the 2020 election results. 

The investigation uncovered substantial evidence indicating that Trump engaged in a concerted effort to "undermine the democratic process," including pressuring state officials and propagating false claims of voter fraud. However, his recent election win has complicated the pursuit of legal accountability, probably forever.

Putting the Squeeze on Mike Pence
The report detailed how Trump pressured his then-Vice President Mike Pence to reject the certification of electoral votes during the January 6, 2021, congressional session. 

Despite Pence's consistent refusal, Trump persisted, culminating in public and private demands that placed Pence in a precarious position during a critical constitutional process.

One analyst claimed that the former second-in-command's political career "will likely never recover thanks to how Trump poisoned his base against" him.
Trump Pressured Electors in 7 States
Investigators found that Trump and his team targeted electors in seven key states, Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, New Mexico, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, urging them to overturn the legitimate election results. 

This strategy involved coordinating with state officials and legislators to submit alternative slates of electors, thereby disrupting the formal Electoral College proceedings, which is largely ceremonial.

Smith summarized that Trump wanted his supporters to discover "how best to mimic the manner in which the state required valid electors to gather and vote."
Co-Conspirators Discovered But Not Indicted
The report identifies several individuals who collaborated with Trump in his efforts to overturn the election. 

While these co-conspirators played significant roles, they have not been indicted, possibly due to insufficient evidence to meet the legal threshold for charges or strategic prosecutorial decisions.

A commenter on X wrote, "Vile and abhorrent crimes and criminals are getting a pass just because Trump is the incoming president. That's the summary, folks. Unbelievable."
Trump Pins Blame on Nancy Pelosi and Others
In response to the report, the President-elect deflected responsibility for the events of January 6, 2021, onto then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. He once claimed that Pelosi failed to adequately secure the Capitol, thereby allowing the unrest to escalate. This narrative has been a consistent element of Trump's defense strategy.

"Deranged Jack Smith was unable to successfully prosecute the Political Opponent of his 'boss,' Crooked Joe Biden, so he ends up writing yet another 'Report' based on information that the Unselect Committee of Political Hacks and Thugs ILLEGALLY DESTROYED AND DELETED, because it showed how totally innocent I was, and how completely guilty Nancy Pelosi, and others, were. Jack is a lamebrain prosecutor who was unable to get his case tried before the Election, which I won in a landslide. THE VOTERS HAVE SPOKEN!!!" he wrote on Truth Social after Smith's document drop.
Smith Stands by Decision to Prosecute Trump
Despite the complexities introduced by Trump's re-election, Special Counsel Smith maintains that pursuing charges was the appropriate course of action. He emphasizes that the investigation was conducted with integrity and in accordance with legal standards, highlighting the importance of accountability in upholding democratic principles.

The 45th president's defenders and Trump himself have called it all "nothing but a witch hunt," and the "Russia hoax all over again."
Classified Documents Probe Not to Be Released

The report also addresses the investigation into Trump's handling of classified documents. Due to ongoing legal proceedings involving associates of Trump, details of this probe will remain confidential to avoid compromising related cases.

Donald Trump is set to be inaugurated as the 47th president on Monday, January 20.

The pregnant supermodel, 44, was spotted walking her dogs in Miami, Fla., on Monday, January 13, with a huge smile plastered on her face as she brought her pups for some exercise.

Bündchen, who shares daughter Vivian and son Benjamin with ex Tom Brady, is expecting her first kid with her boyfriend, Joaquim Valente.

The Brazilian beauty rocked a white sweatshirt, black leggings while hiding under a white baseball cap as she made her way through the neighborhood with one of her small pooches and another large hound.
Insiders close to the mother-of-two revealed the happy news last year following Bündchen's 2022 divorce from the football star.

"Gisele and Joaquim are happy for this new chapter in their life and they're looking forward to creating a peaceful and loving environment for the whole family," a source told People in October 2024.
Bündchen and Valente, who is the family's jiu-jitsu trainer, have been linked since November 2022 after they were seen in Provincia de Puntarenas in Costa Rica with her two kids.

However, the couple didn't make their relationship public until June 2023, long after her split with Brady was finalized.
In October 2022, the matriarch and the footballer announced they were pulling the plug on their union after 13 years. "The decision to end a marriage is never easy but we have grown apart and while it is, of course, difficult to go through something like this, I feel blessed for the time we spent together and only wish the best for Tom always," she penned in the announcement shared to Instagram.

Brady shared his sorrow in a post of his own, but made clear their children were always their top priority.
"We arrived at this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together. We are blessed with beautiful and wonderful children who will continue to be the center of our world in every way. We will continue to work together as parents to always ensure they receive the love and attention they deserve," the NFL star noted.

Moving on from Brady and their life together was difficult for Bündchen at first. "I think there's easier days than others, and I can only control what I do," she admitted in a March 2024 interview with Good Morning America as she got emotional.

"I'm standing here in what used to be our home, and the heartbreak is truly indescribable," Hilton wrote in an emotional caption while showing the remains of her Malibu, Calif., property.
"When I first saw the news, I was in complete shock — I couldn't process it," she continued. "But now, standing here and seeing it with my own eyes, it feels like my heart has shattered into a million pieces."

Billy Crystal is often known for his comedic skills, but the actor avoided finding the humor in his loss. The star and his wife, Janice Crystal, lived in the Pacific Palisades for over 40 years.
"Words cannot describe the enormity of the devastation we are witnessing and experiencing. We ache for our friends and neighbors who have also lost their homes and businesses in this tragedy," the A-lister said in a statement.

"Janice and I lived in our home since 1979," Billy continued. "We raised our children and grandchildren here. Every inch of our house was filled with love. Beautiful memories that can't be taken away. We are heartbroken of course but with the love of our children and friends we will get through this."

Can Milk Lower a Woman's Risk of Colorectal Cancer? New Study Says Yes

Milk can help women curb the chances of being diagnosed with colorectal cancer.



According to a new study conducted in England and published in Nature, if females ingest 300 mg of calcium daily, they could lower their cancer risk by 17 percent. In a fortunate discovery, the measurement is the equivalent of one glass of milk.

"Dairy products (including evidence for total dairy, milk and cheese, as well as dietary calcium) and calcium supplements probably decrease the risk of colorectal cancer," Oxford University and Cancer Research U.K. claimed in the study, which followed health patterns of more than 542,000 women over 16 years.
One of the top researchers, Dr. Keren Papier, told the BBC how their findings "highlight the potential protective role of dairy, largely due to calcium, in the development of bowel cancer."
However, this doesn't mean you should scarf down anything and everything. "Of the dairy-related foods and nutrients examined in the present study, all were inversely associated with risk of colorectal cancer, except for cheese and ice cream," the study made clear.
The research also found that calcium acts as a protectant because it binds to bile acids and free fatty acids in the colon.

"We conclude that dairy products help protect against colorectal cancer," the report stated. "And that this is driven largely or wholly by calcium."

Elsewhere in the study, researchers found an 8 percent higher risk of colorectal cancer in people who maintain "higher red and processed meat consumption" and noted "a larger association for processed meat than for red meat."
Luckily, milk isn't the only food sufficient for calcium if you don't like consuming animal products in your diet. "If you don't drink dairy milk, there are other ways you can get calcium," Dr. Lisa Wilde, from the charity Bowel Cancer U.K., explained.

Los Angeles Man in Tears as He's Reunited With Dog Oreo After 5 Days: 'Thank You God'

The wildfires in Los Angeles, Calif., have left many people and animals displaced. However, one happy ending occurred when Pacific Palisades resident Casey Colvin was reunited with his pet Oreo, who went missing for several days.

NBC News correspondent Liz Kreutz shared a video on Instagram of Colvin seeing Oreo for the first time in almost a week, as she documented his journey to reconnect with his rescue animals.
"OREO HAS BEEN FOUND!!! Casey called me right after my last post and told me there were eyes on Oreo," the journalist announced on Sunday, January 12. "We rushed to his street where Oreo was hiding in his neighbor's home. The moment he saw Casey he came running. An incredible moment and bright spot in such a devastating time."
Colvin, who lost his home in the fire, was ripped away from his canines after receiving an evacuation notice while at work.
"You're alive, you're alive," Colvin cried in the social media post while embracing Oreo.

"Thank you, Jesus, thank you, God," he emotionally exclaimed.
Los Angeles County firefighters have been working tirelessly to help the city's residents, and one even offered to help Colvin find Oreo and Tika Tika Tika.
However, the civil servant was only able to place Tika Tika Tika, leaving Colvin desperately searching for Oreo.
"Casey told me that hours later his home burned to the ground. Had that firefighter not offered to go get the dogs, both of them would have been trapped inside when the flames came," Kreutz said after Tika Tika Tika was spotted.
Oreo, who managed to escape from the fire, was wandering around the neighborhood, according to Colvin's pal.

Colvin relied on an AirTag, photos from the community and a professional dog hunter to continue to look for Oreo.
At one point, the pooch "was seen sleeping in the rubble of a neighbor's home."

Michael J. Fox Reunites With 'Back to the Future' Cast Nearly 40 Years After Film's Release Amid Parkinson's Battle: Photos

In mid-January, the star-studded cast of Back to the Future reunited at the 2025 FAN EXPO in New Orleans, La., nearly 40 years after the beloved movie was first released.
During the event, entitled An Evening with the Cast of Back to the Future, Michael J. Fox, Lea Thompson, Christopher Lloyd, Thomas F. Wilson and Huey Lewis were all on hand to sit down and talk about their experiences making the cult classic and greet fans.

Fox played teenager Marty McFly, who meets eccentric scientist Emmett "Doc" Brown, portrayed by Lloyd. Together, the two mistakenly get sent 30 years into the past in a time-traveling DeLorean.



"I thought the script was amazing," Thompson, who played Marty's mom, Lorraine, said during a 2024 panel at Rhode Island Comic Con. "When I read the script, I was blown away. So from that moment, I thought there was something special."
"I didn't know what the h— I was getting into," Fox said during the same appearance.

During the group's most recent meet-up, they used their platform to spread awareness for people affected by the wildfires in Los Angeles, Calif.

"Hey you guys, this is the cast of Back to the Future," Thompson said in the video as she sat with her former costars. "We want to wish you all the very best in California, our hearts and our love. Hang on. Remember, it's going to get better in the future."

"We know you, we love you and we're going to have a bright future. The future's bright," Wilson added.

Wilson, who played the mean-spirited Biff Tannen, emphasized how impactful the film has been over the years.

"I've been contacted by bullies, by people who have been forced in their lives as an adult to go and apologize to people and to realize the things that made them who they are and the things that they have to do to get out of that," he explained during their gathering last year.

The project was very successful, becoming the highest-grossing film of 1985, earning an Academy Award and inspiring two sequels, as well as an animated TV series and a Broadway musical.
Though the movie was a hit, Fox believed his performance might hurt his career. "I thought this would all be over soon," he said during a 2023 interview with Empire.  "I thought [after] they'd see what I'd done, I'd go back to the back of the pack and start again."

To this day, the cast gushes over how lucky they are to be a part of the film's legacy.

"It was a great part. I loved it. Lorraine was an insane character and I'm really happy to be known for a great film and an insane part," Thompson told The Sunday Post in 2022. "It's a total blessing. I could be known for a horrible slasher movie, so to be known for this, which is inexplicably going from generation to generation to generation, and people still love it so much, I don't have any problem with it."

"I've done my share of work, and nothing compares to the way Back to the Future is ingrained in people's minds," Lloyd explained to Variety in August 2024. "It's phenomenal. Every day practically — and certainly I go to Comic-Cons — people come up and say, 'You made my childhood.' And another reference equal to that, where Back to the Future fills the gap in a lot of lives of young people, who have gone on to become doctors, scientists and what have you. So, a lot of gratitude and I feel real good about that. I feel very fortunate to be part of that."

Lewis, who wrote the movie's signature songs, "Back in Time" and "The Power of Love," recalled how he came up with the tunes that made the film iconic.
"Robert Zemeckis [the director] remembers it slightly differently; that we sent him another song that he didn't like as much and then sent him 'Power of Love,'" Lewis recalled in a 2017 interview with Desert News. "I didn't think the song was going to work for them because there was no love interest in the film, and the song was all about the power of love. But they used it in the chase scene, and it worked great."

Katie Holmes All Smiles as She Arrives to Broadway Show 'Our Town' in NYC: See the Stunning Photos

Katie Holmes was all smiles on Sunday, January 12, while arriving at her matinee performance of Our Town on Broadway.
Holmes, who currently stars in the revival of the play, was a girl on the go with her Starbucks and FedEx package in hand.

The star, who has been in films and movies for the past few decades, gushed over using a different muscle in this latest endeavor.
"It's like a dream job," the brunette beauty told People. "And I love this play. It's been done so many times. … Our director said this is Our Town for our time. And so it's a bit of a reimagining but the script is, obviously, still the same."

"We have a great time," Holmes added about her castmates. "We all really love each other."
Holmes and her daughter, Suri Cruise, have been New Yorkers since 2012 — after the Dawson's Creek alum divorced Tom Cruise.
"The city has a lot to offer, and I use it," Holmes told InStyle when discussing her home base. "Yes, it's a little too exposed at times, and we work hard to maneuver and navigate. But what I love about New York is that for me and my child, this is our vibe."
Holmes raised Suri in the Big Apple, but in August of last year, the Ohio native became an empty nester when her daughter began college at Carnegie Melon University.


When Holmes relocated to New York, she prioritized raising her Suri away from the spotlight.
"What has been really important for me with my daughter, because she was so visible at a young age, is I really like to protect her," she told Glamour in 2023. "I'm very grateful to be a parent, to be her parent. She's an incredible person."




For Holmes, the East Coast gives her access to an endless amount of opportunities, especially in the entertainment industry.
"There is so much at your fingertips," Holmes told People when chatting about her lifestyle.

In a recent appearance on Fox News' The Ingraham Angle with host Laura Ingraham, actor Mel Gibson shared his perspective on the devastating California wildfires, suggesting that their timing and impact might not be coincidental. 

Gibson questioned, "Were they commissioned?" implying that the fires could have been deliberately set for ulterior motives

The award-winning filmmaker also took aim at California Gavin Newsom. Here is what Gibson had to say about Los Angeles going up in flames. 
Gibson's Personal Loss Amidst the Flames
While recording a podcast with Joe Rogan in Austin, Texas, Gibson received news that his Malibu mansion had been destroyed by the wildfires. Despite the loss of his $14.5 million dollar home, he maintained a positive outlook, humorously noting that he no longer had to deal with plumbing problems. He emphasized that the safety of his loved ones was paramount, expressing relief that his family and even his chickens were unharmed.
'They Were Messing With the Water'
Gibson told Ingraham, "Well, you know, I know they were messing with the water, letting reserves go for one reason or another. They've been doing that a while. California has a lot of problems that sort of baffle the mind as far as why they do things. And then in the events like this, you sort of look, well, is it on purpose? Which, it's an insane thing to think. But one begins to ponder whether or not there is a purpose in mind. What could it be? You know, what do they want? The state empty? I don't know."

This isn't Gibson's first experience with California wildfires threatening his property, according to a report. Many of the ongoing "conspiracies" revolve around the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD), which reportedly allocated substantial funds to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives in the years leading up to the catastrophic wildfires currently devastating Los Angeles County. 

These fires have rapidly consumed thousands of acres, resulting in two fatalities and the destruction of approximately 1,000 properties. Residents and critics let their frustrations out on X, with one sharing, "Sure, let's let people roast to a cinder and destroy countless lives… but as long as we stay woke in the process right? Disgrace. California is finished folks."

President Joe Biden Blasted for Saying He Would Have 'Beaten' Donald Trump in 2024 Election

Biden's Bold Claim: I Could've 'Beaten' Trump Again!
In a recent interview on Friday, January 10, President Joe Biden confidently declared that he could have defeated President-elect Donald Trump in the 2024 election. 

"I think I would have beaten Trump, could have beaten Trump. And I think Kamala could have beaten Trump and would have beaten Trump. It wasn't about … I thought it was important to unify the party," the 46th president observed. 

"When the party was worried about whether or not I was gonna be able to move, even though I thought I could win again, I thought it was better to unify the party," he said.
Trump: 'Biden Was Never Fit to Lead'
In July 2024, after the president dropped out of the race to make way for Vice President Kamala Harris, Trump laid into the oldest sitting president ever. 

"Crooked Joe Biden was not fit to run for President, and is certainly not fit to serve — And never was!"

On whether or not he could have served a full second term, Biden told reporters on Friday, "Who the h— knows."
Social Media Roasts: 'Biden's Delusion Knows No Bounds'
After the president's comments hit the news cycle, the response online was of course, not too kind to the deeply unpopular Commander-in-Chief. 

"But is he really that far off? If he could have avoided that debate, the media and Democrats would have smuggled him into Oval Office again," someone wrote on X. "He was pretty bad when they got him into the Oval Office the first time. For him, not much has changed."

Amid ongoing concerns about Biden's cognitive health, another observed, "Evidence to support Trump's effort to overturn all of the executive orders signed by Biden: This video clearly demonstrates Biden's lack of competence in fulfilling his duties. He clearly has no idea that Kamala ran for president, he doesn't even correct himself."
Pelosi Said an Earlier Biden Exit Could Have Benefited Dems
After Trump's near clean sweep of electoral votes on November 5, 2024, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi spilled, "Had the president gotten out sooner, there may have been other candidates in the race. The anticipation was that, if the president were to step aside, that there would be an open primary."
What About Kamala Harris?
More reactions continue to pour in on how the American leader talked as if he ran the entire race against his one-time Republican challenger and soon-to-be successor. 

"They're still lying to him, a commenter stated. "He doesn't realize he was kicked out by his own party. And he must have slept thru the election? Who does he think Trump ran against?" 

Another quipped, "Biden's claims are laughable. The American people have spoken, and they chose Trump."
'Biden Is Mental'
Cenk Uygur of the Progressive news channel Young Turks eviscerated the sitting president's claims. 

"Biden says he would have beaten Trump. 2. He also said, "Who the h— knows?" on whether he could have served a whole second term. 3. He's finishing with an approval rating that is astounding -35 percent. Trump's first term was considered really bad at -4 percent. 4. Biden is mental."

When asked about coming back in a Friday, January 10, interview with TMZ, she spilled, "If the opportunity was right and the check was on point, why not?" 

This sentiment indicates that, despite her previous departures, Leakes is amenable to returning under suitable conditions.

The Glee supporting star's journey with RHOA has been anything but smooth. 

After starring in the show's debut in 2008, she exited before Season 8, returned for Seasons 10 through 12, but left again in 2020. Many are unanimous in pointing out how her presence helped drive the show's success, and fans are eager to see if another comeback could reignite the drama.

In a bombshell sit-down chat with Joe Rogan on his podcast, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg revealed officials from Joe Biden's administration contacted Meta executives, demanding the removal of Facebook posts that were skeptical of the coronavirus vaccine. 

He described these interactions as intense, with officials "screaming" and "cursing" at his team. "Basically it just got to this point [where we told them], 'No, we're not going to take down this thing that was true,'" the tech giant told the podcaster.

Meta's Stance on Truthful Content
Despite the pressure, Zuckerberg told Rogan that Meta refused to take down posts that accurately described potential side effects of the vaccines. He emphasized the importance of allowing truthful information to remain on the platform, even if it was critical of the vaccine.

He observed how Biden admin officials told Meta execs to remove anything that "said vaccines have side effects."

Zuckerberg emphasized Meta's dedication to maintaining free expression. He mentioned that while the company aimed to reduce the spread of misinformation, it also sought to protect open discourse.
He explained, "We tried to find the right balance between giving people a voice and keeping the platform safe."
Elimination of Third-Party Fact-Checking
He then discussed Meta's decision to end its third-party fact-checking operations, replacing them with a user-driven "Community Notes" system. 

He argued that this move would promote free speech and reduce perceived biases in content moderation. "Just take some of the stuff around COVID earlier on in the pandemic, where there were real health implications, but there hadn't been time to fully vet a bunch of the scientific assumptions," he stated.

Never-Before-Seen Kim Yo Jong's Children Are Revealed at Pyongyang's New Year's Eve Bash

Kim Jong Un's sister Kim Yo Jong was spotted in Pyongyang with her two kids on Tuesday, December 31, leading people to wonder if one of Jong's offspring will become the next Supreme Leader of North Korea.

Jong has been an integral figure in North Korea, as she currently serves as the Deputy Department Director of the Publicity and Information Department of the Workers' Party. 
Despite Jong and Un's professional and familial relationship, the siblings could one day fight over which of Kim Il Sung's descendants should inherit the role as the Supreme Leader of North Korea.
Jong being spotted with her son could mean that Un's nephew is the only legitimate male heir to his current role, as the politician and his wife, Ri Sol-Ju, only have one daughter: Kim Ju-ae.
"With this event we know, without a shadow of a doubt, that Kim Yo-Jong has a son," Michael Madden, the founder of North Korea Leadership Watch, told The Sun.
"This means she has produced a legitimate male heir to the Mount Paektu revolutionary leadership of Kim Il-sung," he added.





Over the years, there have been rumors of Un fathering a child outside of his marriage, but the claims have never been proven.

"We don't know if Kim Jong-un actually has a son and there is no credible available intelligence to establish that he does," Madden explained.
"But Kim Yo-Jong has a son, who given his family lineage, is certainly a credible candidate for hereditary succession in North Korea," he added.
Since North Korea's inception, the nation has been patriarchal since its never had a female leader. However, before experts saw Jong with her kids, many wondered if Kim Ju-ae would make history by becoming her father's successor.
It's unclear who will lead the next generation of North Koreans, but the dictator often includes Kim Ju-ae in public gatherings in outfits similar to his own.
"Dressing up in dark, extravagant clothes makes her look like a mini version of Kim Jong Un, and that is exactly what the regime wants people to see of her," Professor Jeon Young Sun of Konkuk University told ABC News. "The regime is deliberately differentiating her from other kids her age, to show that her ancestry is of the revered Kim leadership."

Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito confirmed speaking with President-elect Donald Trump on January 7, 2025, to endorse his former law clerk, William Levi, for a role in Trump's upcoming administration. 

Alito stressed that their conversation was limited to Levi's qualifications and did not touch on any legal matters. However, the timing of the call — just before Trump's legal team filed an emergency request with the Supreme Court— raised eyebrows and questions about judicial impartiality.

Trump's Hush Money Case: A Race Against Sentencing?
Hours after the Alito-Trump call, Trump's legal team submitted an emergency application to the Supreme Court, seeking to delay his sentencing in the New York hush money case on Friday, January 10. The high court previously heard immunity claims for the former president in April 2024. 

Alito claimed he was unaware of this filing during his conversation with Trump. Despite the effort, the Supreme Court later rejected the request, allowing sentencing to proceed with the incoming leader of the free world avoiding jail time in Friday's ruling, The New York Times reported. 
William Levi's 'Stellar' Credentials
Levi, the focus of Justice Alito's recommendation, clerked for Alito from 2011 to 2012 and later served as Chief of Staff to Attorney General Bill Barr. 

Known for his strong conservative credentials, Levi is reportedly being considered for high-ranking legal positions in Trump's administration, including General Counsel for the Department of Defense.
A 'Rare' Presidential-Justice Interaction Sparks Debate
Direct communication between a Supreme Court Justice and a President-elect is uncommon, particularly when the latter had active cases before the Supreme Court. 

"I was not even aware at the time of our conversation that such an application would be filed," Alito shared in a statement. 


Legal analysts note that while it's not unusual for justices to recommend former clerks, the timing and context of Alito's call to Trump have fueled concerns over judicial neutrality and the appearance of bias when rulings are being analyzed.
Public Scrutiny Mounts Over Alito's Call
Gabe Roth of Fix the Court, described the phone call as "an unmistakable breach of protocol."
"No person, no matter who they are, should engage in out-of-court communication with a judge or justice who's considering that person's case," he stated.
A representative for Trump did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Carrie Severino, president of JCN, a conservative organization that has supported Trump's judicial nominees, characterized the call in a social media post as a "manufactured 'ethics' scandal over a simple reference check" and accused critics of using it to "smear" the justice.
No Jail Time for Trump
Trump, convicted on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records related to hush money payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels, was sentenced on Friday, January 10, just days before his inauguration as the nation's 47th Commander-in-Chief. 

Judge Juan Merchan issued an unconditional discharge, meaning Trump will face no jail time or fines, making him the first U.S. president to take office with a felony conviction. The billionaire mogul denounced the case as a politically motivated "witch hunt" and plans to appeal the conviction.

Despite losing the race for governor, Jenner continued to push her right-wing agenda. "I want to see the government out of my face, out of my regulations," she explained in a 2021 interview with People. "I want a thriving economy, so we have the money to help the people who need to be helped."  
Supporting Donald Trump and Elon Musk

Jenner penned in a recent Instagram post alongside a photo of President-Elect Donald Trump and Elon Musk. 
Speaking Out Against Trans Athletes  

 
Despite Jenner transitioning in 2015, she expressed her controversial beliefs about trans individuals competing in professional sports.  
"As 'somewhat' of a track star myself, and a trans person, THIS IS WRONG!!! HELP ME PUSH BACK!" she wrote on social media about the California Meet of Champions, which allowes a transgender girl to run with other competitors who were assigned female at birth. "And FYA trans ppl you are being used by the radical gender ideology cult as political pawns. That's all you are to them." 
Staying Single and Not Looking for a Romantic Partner 
Jenner made it clear that after multiple marriages, she's not looking to ever be in a long-term partnership again.  
"I'm fine. I'm not even close to looking for a relationship," she said in a 2023 interview with The Sunday Times. "I'll never have a relationship in the future. I just don't see that in my life. I am not looking for that." 
Staying Close With Sophia Hutchins  
Jenner has remained close with her pal Sophia Hutchins despite people thinking they are an item. "I don't want controversy. I am just trying to live my life. Caitlyn is a parent to me. Pharmacies Flooded With People Rushing to Buy 'Miracle Pills' to Stave Off Deadly HMPV Virus

Pharmacies in China are dealing with a rush of customers, as human metapneumovirus (HMPV) remains on the rise in the country.

Civilians are now hoping to get their hands on a "miracle" pill that can help prevent the virus.

Due to the high demand, Chinese pharmacies raised the price of Xofluza — an antiviral medicine with the main ingredient Baloxavir marboxil.
"It's out of stock. Baloxavir marboxil, it's sold out this morning," a pharmacy employee told Qilu Evening Post. "We have to wait for restock tomorrow. We are selling them at 227 yuan (about $30 USD)."



The medicine "helps protect you and your family members aged 5 years and older from getting the flu," the pharmaceutical item says on its official site. "XOFLUZA may help lower your chances of getting the flu by 87 percent after being exposed to someone who has the flu, compared with placebo."

HMPV, which was first discovered in the Netherlands in 2001, spreads through direct contact with an infected person or contaminated surface. Due to the condition being droplet-born, it can spread rapidly.
According to Daily Star, a pharmacy worker in Zhengzhou city told a Chinese outlet: "Tamiflu used to be the go-to medicine but this Xofluza is imported goods so it's not cheap. We are selling it around 200 yuan ($27 USD), we see a lot of people asking for this medication recently. Some of them said they traveled far to look for this."
HMPV's most common symptoms are: cough, fever, nasal congestion and shortness of breath.
Currently, there is no vaccine available for HMPV and no formal treatment for it, leading many Chinese citizens to depend on Xofluza, sanitization and masking to protect themselves.



China was greatly affected by the COVID-19 epidemic, as the first case of the virus was detected in Wuhan. However, even though HMPV diagnoses are increasing, there has been a decline in respiratory infections in the country.

A spokesperson for the World Health Organization (WHO) said data from China shows "there has been a recent rise in acute respiratory infections," but "the overall scale and intensity of respiratory infectious diseases in China this year are lower than last year."

The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) reportedly allocated substantial funds to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives in the years leading up to the catastrophic wildfires currently devastating Los Angeles County. 

These fires have rapidly consumed thousands of acres, resulting in two fatalities and the destruction of approximately 1,000 properties. Residents and critics let their frustrations out on X, with one sharing, "Sure, let's let people roast to a cinder and destroy countless lives… but as long as we stay woke in the process right? Disgrace. California is finished folks."

Budget Breakdown: Millions for DEI Staffing
City budget documents from the 2022 to 2023 fiscal year reveal a $673,810 dollar operational request for "Equity and Inclusion Staffing." 

Reports show this funding was intended for a new Human Resources Bureau to implement a strategic diversity and inclusion plan, mediate conflicts, mitigate complaints, grievances and lawsuits to foster a more positive work environment.

Conservative commentator Ben Shapiro took aim at such policies and said, "Why are the L.A. fires so devastating? It's the effect of every bad Democratic policy happening ALL AT ONCE: environmental radicalism, budgetary incompetence, DEI. Gavin Newsom, Karen Bass and the one-party state have brought this catastrophe on the population of my old hometown."
Recruitment Dollars Diverted to Diversity Drives
An additional operational request allocated $418,778 dollars for "Diversity in Recruitment," focusing on the targeted recruitment of women and underrepresented groups within the LAFD.

"When you see numbers like this, think of all the fire hydrants and more that could be of use RIGHT NOW," a Facebook user pointed out. 
DEI Spending Surges Amid Firefighting Shortfalls
In the 2024 to 2025 fiscal year, approved operational requests for "Equity and Inclusion Staffing" soared to $1,777,715 dollars. This budget continued funding for nine positions, including a Fire Deputy Chief and Fire Battalion Chiefs, dedicated to mediating conflicts and implementing diversity and inclusion strategies.

CNN political commentator Scott Jennings replied to such figures with, "We have DEI, we have budget cuts, and yet I'm wondering now if your house was burning down, how much do you care what color the firefighters are?"
Firefighters Struggle as Resources Run Dry
As wildfires rage, local firefighters have faced significant challenges, including waterless fire hydrants and a lack of personnel and equipment, hindering their ability to contain the blazes effectively.

Actor James Woods kept his X profile filled with responses aimed at the politics of it all, and quipped, "It took mere hours for the ineptitude of Gavin Newsom and Karen Bass to render the Pacific Palisades a scorched wasteland. Compounding concerns, the report suggests that California fire departments have reportedly been donating allegedly surplus equipment to Ukraine in recent years, raising questions about resource allocation during local emergencies.

We Reveal The States Where HMPV Is Surging – And How to Tell If You Have the Virus Ravaging China

There has been a spike in human metapneumovirus (HMPV) cases in China, leading to concerns about another Covid-like epidemic happening in the U.S.

Currently, hospitals in Wisconsin, Illinois, California, Indiana, New Jersey, North Carolina, Massachusetts and New York have begun requiring — or strongly urging — visitors to wear their masks to curb the rate of infection.
According to Daily Mail, infections caused by HPMV are three times the national average in Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska and Iowa.

HMPV is a virus with symptoms similar to a common cold, but it can lead to a lower respiratory infection similar to pneumonia.
Dr. Carla Garcia Carreno, a Pediatric Infectious Disease Specialist at PID Associates and the Medical Director for Infection Prevention and Control at Children's Medical Center Plano, addressed the public's worry about HPMV.
"The concern for a pandemic can be put at rest," Carreno told CBS News. "This has been circulating for a while, so people have some immunity against this human metapneumovirus."

Cases of HMPV have been on the rise in the U.S., as the CDC found 1.94 percent — or 13,800 people — tested positive for it the week of December 28, 2024.

According to the BBC, HMPV, which was first noticed in 2001 in the Netherlands, spreads through direct contact with an infected person, in addition to touching contaminated surfaces.
The most common symptoms associated with HMPV include: cold, cough, fever, nasal congestion and shortness of breath.
If an individual thinks they've contracted HMPV, their local healthcare provider will be able to test them for it. However, there currently is no treatment for HMPV.
There is no FDA-approved shot for HMPV either, but there could be another way to prevent it.
"There is no vaccine available for this virus but if you have taken a flu shot, the three vaccine doses of COVID virus, you already have immunity," surgical oncologist Vishal Rao told the Economic Times.

With winter infection rates rising, medical professionals recommend sanitizing high-touch areas such as doorknobs, light switches and table tops.

'Terrifying': Real Housewife Recalls Horror Sex Assault at Age 15

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Denise Richards opened about being assaulted in her teens while on Special Forces: World's Toughest Test.

During the Season 3 premiere, Richards struggled to complete a helicopter extraction, as the incident reminded her of her painful past.

Richards was visibly unable to lift herself to the helicopter's cabin during the challenge, which is taken from the actual Army Special Forces selection process.

"I really want to learn how to not be overwhelmed by fear," Richards admitted on the show. "I've been through traumatic situations that have been very terrifying for me. I want to learn how to deal with those issues and be stronger."

In the episode, the Directing Staff informed Richards that she seemed like a "deer in headlights" at the time. 

"It's hard. I'm completely out of my comfort zone," the Good Advice star said. "I'm not petrified. I'm emotional right now."

Richards reflected on a traumatic incident that occurred while in the car with her husband, Aaron Phypers. 
"We were driving. He wanted to take me to [a] set," she said. "He didn't want me going alone, thank God, and we were physically shot at in his truck, and I sat on the floor and was just literally, I peed. I was so scared… I froze."

The 53-year old later described something that happened when she was an adolescent. 
"The first time I ever experienced that I was 15 and I noticed a man following me," she continued. "He came up from behind me, put his hand around my mouth, grabbed my v——, and started dragging me, and I froze, like I couldn't even scream for help."






Richards, who has three children, Sami, Lola and Eloise, said she wants to protect her girls at all times.
"It's so scary to have that situation, you know, that age and be so vulnerable," the actress admitted. "And I have three daughters, and I want them to be able to never go through that. And also, if something, God forbid, happen to be strong enough."
"I think that I haven't addressed a lot of what I have gone through, and it's very terrifying. I don't know if I would be able to get over my past," she continued.
