Jennifer Lawrence reveals her mother once sold the Oscar winner's used toilet on Craigslist

When it came to selling a certain household item, Jennifer Lawrence's mother didn't give a crap.

The actress told People magazine that her mom, Karen, once sold a broken used toilet from J.Law's home — the toilet was actually sold to a man named Lee Eisenberg, who happens to be the writing partner of "No Hard Feelings" director Gene Stupnitsky.

"Years ago, Lee Eisenberg bought a toilet on Craigslist from my mom. My toilet," she said, adding that she "doesn't know" why her mom decided to shill a porcelain throne.

"I'm like, 'I broke it.' My mom sold it for me," the "No Hard Feelings" star said.

At the time of the purchase, Lee knew the identity of the seller.

"That's how we know the story now," Jennifer said. "So thanks, Mom."

In "No Hard Feelings," Jen answers a Craigslist ad placed by the parents of a shy teenager. The goal was for the teen, played by Andrew Barth Feldman, to become less timid.

J.Law has often spoke of how much her own parents supported her over the years, even after she dropped out of school.

"My parents, you know—changed their entire lives to support me," she told 60 Minutes in 2018.

Admitting to being a "weirdo" in school, Jen said she once faked having a wooden leg in class.

"And I, like, walked in a very consistent limp. Like, incredibly consistent. And when my mom came to get me from school, my teachers were, like, 'It's awful what happened to Jennifer's leg.' And my mom was, like, 'She does not have—she's—her leg has not been amputated.' I used to just invent stories just to invent them," she said.

The "Hunger Games" star added, "My parents were just—you know, they would go through periods of time where they just wanted me outta the house. And it was called a lockout. And so I'd go to the door and it was locked. And I'd be like all right. I gotta find something else to do until my parents were ready to deal with me again. I was a handful. And I got it. We never fought about it. I've always been very self-aware about my annoyingness."

Grammy winner admits to alcohol 'addiction,' cites pressure of 'not being good enough'

Drew Taggart, of The Chainsmokers, has publicly acknowledging his struggles with alcohol, calling it an "addiction."

The Grammy-winning performer shared a video of him playing piano to the group's recent single "Self Destruction Mode." In this caption, Drew spoke of the song's meaning.

Casey Flanigan/imageSPACE/Shutterstock

"I've struggled with drinking throughout my career as it's an addiction that's woven into the environment we exist in," he penned. "This guilt of not being good enough or not being better ironically sends me into a spiral that restarts my bad habit cycle."

"Self Destruction Mode" is clearly a personal song to Drew, as its lyrics point to cyclical damaging behavior.

"I woke up in self-destruction mode / I press go and I do it again / I love my sins, they're all I know / We got closer than all of my friends," the song says.

Despite the heavy content, Drew maintains that the song, which features Bludnymph, is not a "cry for help."

It's "more of an embrace or celebration of all that I am," he said. "I know that im flawed. i know that i am great and so are you. Never forget it."

This is the first time The Chainsmokers artist has publicly opened up about his struggle.

Over the years, The Chainsmokers, which includes Alex Pall, have gotten headlines for other purposes, including their 2017 Grammy win and from their love lives. In January, Drew was linked to Selena Gomez after his romance with Eve Jobs, the daughter of Steve Jobs, fizzled.

"They aren't trying to hide their romance by sneaking around at members only clubs," a source previously told Us Weekly. "They are so affectionate and having a lot of fun together. Selena can hardly keep her hands off him."

However, it seems that Drew and Selena are no more, as she recently said she was single and "a little high maintenance."

Plus, in February she joked about her love life while lip-syncing a TikTok video.

"Guys, I figured out the reason why I'm single. You have to go outside and meet people. Like, you actually have to go outside and talk to them," she mouthed.

Outgoing 'Top Chef' host gives update on former partner after public stabbing

Padma Lakshmi's former husband is "healing beautifully" 10 months after being stabbed on stage during a lecture in New York City.

Salman Rushdie — who was married to the outgoing "Top Chef" host from 2004 to 2007 — was hospitalized for six weeks after being attacked back in August 2022. Following the assault, the author lost vision in one eye and use of a hand.

"He's healing beautifully, valiantly. Like everyone else, when I heard about it it catapulted me right back to things that I hadn't thought about for a very long time," she said on CNN's "Who's Talking With Chris Wallace." "You know, obviously, we have a lot of common friends and I think he's doing great. He's a tough old boot. And he's not anything if he's not tenacious, so I'm happy that he is healing."

Padma and Salman were married while Iran's Ayatollah Khomeini issued a fatwa — also known a death sentence — against him for his writings.

"I would be lying if I said, I didn't think about those things. I did think about the fatwā every day of my life, I couldn't not think about it," Padma said. "But what I thought about more, was very deep love between us. And that made me not afraid, because I was with the man I loved. And I thought that was where it should be."

The "Taste the Nation with Padma Lakshmi" star noted that her family wasn't exactly enthusiastic when she began dating Salman.

"My family wasn't very excited at first either, you know, by this relationship, but they also in time really grew to love Salman and that's really what I hope propels all of my important decisions," she said.

The interview comes less than two weeks after Padma announced that she is leaving "Top Chef" after 17 years and 19 seasons.

"After 17 years, many of the cast and crew are like family to me and I will miss working alongside them dearly," she wrote on Instagram. "I feel it's time to move on and make space for 'Taste the Nation,' my books and other creative pursuits."

'Pearl Harbor' actress 'absolutely and totally broken' after her famous cat dies

All cats go to heaven.

A heartbroken Kate Beckinsale has indicated that she will likely take a social media break to mourn the loss of her beloved cat, Clive.

David Fisher/Shutterstock

"Clive has died," she announced on Instagram on Monday, June 12. "I don't have it in me to make a montage or even look at pictures of him yet. Every single part of my house feels like he should be in it."

The "Underworld" and "Pearl Harbor" actress posted a snap of her cradling the feline while indicating that she's going to take some time to herself to process the loss.

"If anyone is expecting to hear from me, you may not for a bit and I'm sorry," she penned. "My heart is absolutely and totally broken."

Clive was rather famous on Kate's social media, as she regularly shared photos of the cat. Often times, she dressed the fur ball up in quirky outfits, put him on a floating pool raft or made him a part of a funny online skit.

"Not sure a cat has ever received so much love and good wishes thank you I think he definitely feels it," she captioned a video in August that showed her putting makeup on the four-legged man.

After the sad announcement, many of Kate's celebrity friends expressed condolences.

"Kate sending you love," Anya Taylor-Joy wrote. Seth Rogen commented, "I'm so sorry."

Lisa Rinna added, "Oh I'm so so sorry for your loss we loved you sharing Clive with us. Thank you."

One fan called Clive the "King of Instagram," and others spoke of how much they'll miss Kate's funny Clive-centric social media posts.

The cause of Clive's death isn't known, but Kate has said he was "quite old."

"We got him when my daughter was little," she told People magazine in 2019, Lily Sheen, now 20, whom she shares with ex Michael Sheen. "And he usually is shaved into an odd shape, but he's a recent cancer survivor."

The loss of Clive comes three years after Kate's dog Ingrid, a Maltese-Chihuahua, died at age 11.

Music star unhappy with father for creating 'mess' with homophobic Pride Month post

Justin Bieber is angry that his father created a "mess" with a homophobic tweet and a depthless apology.

Earlier in the week, Jeremy Bieber took to Twitter to post a rainbow flag with the sarcastic caption, "Don't forget to thank a straight person this month for your existence." The message, which was later deleted, came two days after he publicly shaded Pride Month, tweeting, "We need to celebrate families. U know the reason we're all here! The things this generation glorifies is unbelievable!"

In the immediate aftermath of Wednesday's message, fans torched Jeremy online. Justin, meanwhile, was "mad" that his father added unprovoked undue stress, a source told the Daily Mail.

"Justin hasn't had many controversies lately. He is trying to lay relatively low and just be there for [wife Hailey Bieber] and their relationship and not try to be around drama. He has had plenty of that in his life," the source explained. "But unfortunately, his dad started some new drama and now Justin is involved in the mess. He is mad at his dad for doing what he did but also knows that people will be talking about something else tomorrow and this will pass."

Fans of the "Sorry" singer weren't willing to let Jeremy off the hook so easily.

One person said, "don't forget to thank your son cause he's the reason your electricity hasn't been shut off yet!" Another added, "Says the man who abandoned his child and only came back bc he became famous.. that's how you celebrate family?" Another critic tweeted, "Wasn't expected anything else from a  grown man who leeches off his son." One questioned, "celebrate your three different families with people you abandoned?"

Amid the backlash, Jeremy posted an uninspired apology.

"Acknowledging the nuclear family is offensive?  My apologies to those offended. Was not my intent. Not that my opinion matters," he tweeted.

https://twitter.com/JeremyBieber/status/1666474754168041474

Since then, the father and son have spoken and are "on the same page to not do anything stupid like this again," the Mail's source said.

"Justin has had an up-and-down relationship with his dad for years, and this just adds to it all. Justin's dad knows he put Justin in a bad position, but Justin is looking to move on from this as quickly as it started in the first place and hopes his dad is forgiven," the insider said. "Especially since it is so close to Father's Day and his dad's birthday. Justin wants to celebrate his dad and not be mad at his dad."

Former first daughter has 'disappeared' from Donald Trump's life as his legal issues mount

Amid his legal troubles, one woman in Donald Trump's life is sticking by his side while another has essentially "disappeared."

Ivanka Trump, the eldest daughter of the former president, is not expected to publicly support her father as he faces charges related to alleged mishandling of confidential documents. The former White House adviser "will be staying far away from daddy," a source told Page Six

A separate source said, "Ivanka has disappeared."

Arlene Richie/Shutterstock

Ivanka has already declared that she will not be a part of her dad's 2024 presidential campaign, and she's been fairly apolitical since leaving the White House. After the former POTUS was indicted in the spring on charges related to a hush money payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels, Ivanka issued a brief statement. "I love my father and I love my country. Today, I am pained for both. I appreciate the voices across the political spectrum expressing support and concern," she said.

Just prior to that March arrest, a source told Page Six that Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner, want "nothing" to do with the drama that surrounds the 45th President.

"They are staying away and don't want to be hounded by reporters. I don't think you will see them defending him, it will be no comment," the source said. "Ivanka lost a lot of friends and her social scenes during his presidency … They want to put it in the rearview. They want it behind them."

Chris Kleponis/UPI/Shutterstock

Although Ivanka is seemingly giving her dad the stiff arm, Melania Trump plans to stand by her man as he fights 31 counts of willful retention of national defense information and single counts of false statements and representations, conspiracy to obstruct justice, withholding a document or record, corruptly concealing a document, concealing a document in a federal investigation and a scheme to conceal. In all he's accused of breaking seven different laws with his handling of there confidential documents.

"She is used to this," an insider said of Melania. "They are used to dealing with this stuff."

A separate source close to the former First Lady said, "Melania is standing by her husband, but quietly and privately. He's been on the phone with Melania, who's supporting him 100 percent.  They both knew this — and more — was coming."

Larry Marano/Shutterstock

While Trump was in New Jersey when the indictment news broke, his wife was in New York City.

"[Melania] flew to the East Coast to see her mother in the apartment she personally decorated for her with a designer. She even chose the fabrics herself at the D&D building. She will meet up with Donald at Trump Tower, where he has legal meetings," said a different source. "Trump will be back at Mar-a-Lago, where his security is [better] and she will be with him. But she won't be with him when he surrenders himself to authorities."

Fired CNN star not ruling out return after network boss shakeup

There's a chance that Don Lemon could be returning to his old stomping grounds.

The controversial newsman was fired from CNN last April after 17 years at the network following a series of questionable comments, including saying presidential candidate Nikki Haley was "not in her prime" at the age of 51. However, the ouster of now-former network CEO Chris Licht might open the door for Don's CNN resurrection.

Erik Pendzich/REX/Shutterstock

TMZ said Don and Chris had a long-standing tension. Following Chris' firing, CNN's Executive VP for Talent and Content Development Amy Entelis is now one of the people calling the shots, and she's been close with Don for nearly 15 years.

Don's unceremonious spring termination (which came hours after Fox News showed Tucker Carlson the door) was dramatic and acrimonious, as he said he was let go without any notice whatsoever.

"I was informed this morning by my agent that I have been terminated by CNN. I am stunned. After 17 years at CNN I would have thought that someone in management would have had the decency to tell me directly," he said in a statement. "At no time was I ever given any indication that I would not be able to continue to do the work I have loved at the network. It is clear that there are some larger issues at play."

He continued, "With that said, I want to thank my colleagues and the many teams I have worked with for an incredible run. They are the most talented journalists in the business, and I wish them all the best."

Andrew H. Walker/Variety/REX/Shutterstock

Sources said Don's job was on thin ice in the months leading to his termination. "There are ongoing conversations about Don's future," a source told The Daily Beast in February. "He is a constant distraction."

Following his "in her prime" comments about Nikki, an editorial call was held to discuss how to handle the backlash.

"His remarks were upsetting, unacceptable, and unfair to his co-hosts, and ultimately a huge distraction to the great work of this organization," Chris told staffers at the time, according to reports. Don responded, "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hurt anyone. I did not mean to offend anyone."
