Tom Bergeron throws serious shade at departed 'DWTS' producer

Tom Bergeron isn't dancing around his feelings.

The former "Dancing With The Stars" host didn't hide his animosity after being asked about the departure of one of the ABC show's executive producers — who's also the same man who was reportedly instrumental in Tom's ouster from the competition show.

Invision/AP/Shutterstock

"Karma's a b****," he shaded in response to a Deadline article detailing the exit of producer Andrew Llinares.

As host, Tom guided "Dancing With The Stars" for 15 years, having launched it in 2005. However, in 2020, Tom announced that he had been let go, as had cohost Erin Andrews, who said she was "super bummed" about the axing. The hosting duties were then given to Tyra Banks. At the time, it was fairly clear that the producer had a large say in the change.

"I think it's all about evolution. I think any show like this that has been on many, many seasons needs to continue to evolve," Andrew told reporters during a panel in September 2020, according to Us Weekly. "I think changing the host was all about evolution, it was about making the show feel fresh, making it feel new [and] kind of make it reach out — maybe to a new audience as well, as well as the audience that's been there for years."

After the comments, Tom and Erin poked fun at them on Twitter.

Under Andrew's vision, the show became more of an extravaganza, and somewhat less about the dancing.

"We're not a music video," one of the veteran pros told Deadline. "We're not the MTV music awards. We're a ballroom dance show. The screensavers behind us are swallowing us. Like, this is not what ballroom dancing is. It's an intimate sport. You're missing the actual feeling from what we're supposed to be giving the audience. You're supposed to tap into our story and we're supposed to tell it through movement. You lose the essence."

Mariah Carey mistakenly texts Shawn Mendes holiday wishes – on the wrong holiday!

It's hard to not be obsessed with Mariah Carey's text mistake.

On March 17, Shawn Mendes was on the receiving end of a random message from the "Hero" singer that read, "Happy thanksgiving🍁!!!!" In March!

Stephen Lovekin/Shutterstock

Afterward, but before the "Stitches" singer could respond, Mimi realized her blunder and replied, "Wrong Shawn. Sorry. Also, I do realize it is NOT Thanksgiving. Haha."

Taking the mistake in stride, Shawn commented,  "hahahaha I figured it was an inside joke❤️ ❤️."

It turns out, he was right. As Mariah posted a screenshot of the hilarious conversation, she explained the meaning of the springtime Turkey Day wishes!

"My cousin Shawn M and I have this silly joke where we tell each other Happy Thanksgiving on St. Patrick's Day," she tweeted. She hilariously added, "@ShawnMendes found out about it today.. sorry Shawn!!"

Not surprisingly, fans loved the mixup and begged the duo for a collaboration. Others begged her to make another snafu and text them — something that is much more akin to a fantasy

Teddi Mellencamp fears she might have skin cancer

Teddi Mellencamp is awaiting results from a skin cancer test after a doctor suspected she had melanoma.

The reality TV star spoke about her health situation on Instagram on March 17, noting that a former "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills " castmate urged her to get checked.

ETIENNE LAURENT/EPA-EFE/Shutterstock

"I had been avoiding [getting my skin checked] bc of my own anxiety for a very long time but when [Kyle Richards] saw my back and it had changed colors again, she immediately took me to the doc who within minutes said it looks like melanoma and did a big removal," Teddi wrote on Instagram.

Teddi, 40, shared an image of the skin spot and the aftereffects of the incision. Now, all she can do is wait.

"I am doing my best to stay present and positive as I head to [film] today. Grateful that I am busy to keep my mind from racing as I await the results," she wrote, adding, "I find strength in being honest with you all and hope this helps others."

Teddi ended her post by urging her 1 million Instagram followers to get their skin checked.

After her post, several Bravo-lebrities voiced their support for Teddi, and many also praised Kyle.

Amanda Bynes takes huge step forward in ending 9-year conservatorship

The end of Amanda Bynes' nine-year conservatorship looks to be near.

According to court documents, obtained by The Blast, the actress submitted paperwork signed by a psychiatrist that says she no longer suffers from "thought disorders." Plus, she consistently tests negative for drugs at random screenings.

@rlamandabynes/Instagram

"Ms. Bynes has no apparent impairment in alertness and attention, information and processing, or ability to modulate mood and affect, and suffers no thought disorders," the filing said. "Ms. Bynes' psychiatrist further opines that Ms. Bynes has the capacity to give informed consent to any form of medical treatment."

Amanda's mother, who is one of the conservators, is on board with with conservatorship ending, citing the doctor's "capacity declaration."

Instagram

A former actress, Amanda has found her passion in fashion, as she's a student at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles. Her report cards, which show "above-average grades," where included in the new court filing.

Paperwork further notes that the "Easy A" star has been living in a structured community for women since 2020.

"In 2021 Ms. Bynes transitioned to the apartment community, which offers an independent living environment for women posed to transition into an autonomous lifestyle. The independent living apartment provides continuous accountability through ongoing random toxicology screenings, weekly apartment checks, and a weekly case management session with her case manager," the docs add. "The case manager in the community reports Ms. Bynes consistently tests negative for illicit substances in her system. Ms. Bynes desires to live free of any constraint. Ms. Bynes contends her condition has improved, and protection of the court is no longer necessary."

A hearing is set for March 22, and it seems likely that the conservatorship will end.

Broadimage/Shutterstock

The conservatorship came after a lengthy series of bizarre behavior.

In 2013, Amanda was placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold after setting off a small fire on a neighbor's driveway and dousing her dog in gasoline. A stay in a psychiatric hospital followed. Then, in October 2014, she found herself in a treatment center after lashing out against her father on social media and being busted for shoplifting and DUI

Also in 2014, she was kicked out of fashion school for odd behavior, with other students accusing her of attending classes with sunglasses on while high on marijuana, paying others to finish her homework, and blatantly cheating off of classmates during tests. In November 2014 she tweeted that she was "diagnosed bi – polar and manic depressive."

Along the way, she began online feuds and wrote odd Twitter messages.

In the years since, Amanda has largely cleaned up her life.

In November 2018, she said she's been sober for four years, but she returned to treatment two months later after what was reported to be a "stress-related relapse." Last year, she got engaged to Paul Michael, who met in Alcoholics Anonymous. She's also apparently dabbling in rap, as evidenced by several YouTube videos

'The Boys' star Karen Fukuhara attacked by stranger, pleads to end Asian hate

"The Boys" actress Karen Fukuhara was assaulted by a man during a random racially-motivated attack, she said.

The actress felt it was important to publicly share details of the despicable incident on Instagram, hoping it will help curb anti-Asian hate.

Image Press Agency/NurPhoto/Shutterstock

"I was walking to a cafe for some coffee and a man struck me in the back of my head. It came out of nowhere. We made no eye contact before, I wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary," she wrote. "It came to my surprise and my hat flew off. By the time I looked back, he was a few feet away from me (he must have kept walking after hitting me)."

Karen thought about confronting the man but eventually felt it wasn't "worth the risk." Instead, she and the assailant stared at each other as he shouted racial slurs at her.

"This is the first time I've been harmed physically, although racial slurs and hurtful actions have been directed to me in the past," she continued. "I write this because I've had conversations with racial friends of mine that had no idea these hate crimes happen to everyday, regular people — people that they share meals with. I felt it was important to raise awareness."

Karen, 30, knows she was "lucky" the man didn't have a weapon or return for more physical violence.

"The shock of this experience has me thinking about taking self-defense classes," she wrote. "But why is this something we as 'victims' have to think about? What satisfaction are these perpetuators getting from hitting women, Asians, the ELDERLY? They need to be held accountable."

Following her account, a slew of Hollywood stars voiced their support for Karen, including Olivia Munn, who says she's "grateful" her pal is safe.

Jay Hernandez called the act "shameful," whereas Chace Crawford dubbed it "awful."

Sam Elliott spurns 'Yellowstone,' despite starring in prequel

Sam Elliott isn't holding back… again.

A few weeks after ripping the Oscar-nominated western "The Power of the Dog," the celebrated actor has shown his contempt for "Yellowstone" — this, despite starring in the Paramount's show's prequel, "1883."

Matt Baron/Shutterstock

Sam, 77, said the show feels too much like a soap opera.

"I'm not a 'Yellowstone' fan," he said on Marc Maron's "WTF" podcast. "I don't watch 'Yellowstone.' I love [series star Kevin] Costner. There are a lot of good people on the cast, a few of them I've worked with before. Nothing against any of them, but it's just too much like f ——'Dallas' or something for me."

The comments come after Sam made headlines for slamming "The Power of the Dog," calling it a "piece of s—." He also compared the male stars to Chippendales dancers because they "wear bowties and not much else."

"They're all running around in chaps and no shirts. There's all these allusions to homosexuality throughout the f—— movie," he said. "Where's the Western in this Western?"

"Dog" Director Jane Campion, though, fired back, essentially calling Sam a fraud.

"He's not a cowboy either, he's an actor — he grew up in Sacramento and was educated in Oregon . . . We're dealing in a fictional world, we're dealing in a mythic universe," she told Variety. "The West is a myth, it doesn't exist — Annie Proulx said that — and there's a lot of room on the range to explore that myth. And this is just another version of it."

Al Roker rewears size 54 pants he donned before 150 lb weight loss

What a difference a decade or two makes.

Al Roker is marking the 20-year anniversary of his gastric bypass surgery by busting out the pants he once used to wear.

"Hard to believe it was 20 years ago today, I wore these size 54 Levi jeans to my #gastricbypass at 340 lbs and here I am today," the "Today" weatherman captioned a series of Instagram images.

In one snap, Al poses with the jeans. In two others, he actually wears the pants, which accurately displays exactly how much weight he's actually lost.

"It's still a struggle but I'm never going back," he continued. "I have setbacks and struggle every day, but I never forget how far I've come."

Al also posted a video of him getting into the pants on his Instagram Story.

The affable weatherman has been open about getting gastric bypass, previously noting he lost 150 pounds after the procedure.

"My wife is a size 4; she runs, she works out and it became a problem in our marriage … On a Saturday she'd get up, get dressed to run and I'd be sitting on the couch or making breakfast for the kids," he wrote in a "Today" essay in 2013. "She was upset about it, she was frustrated, she was angry. She thought, 'Why don't you care enough about yourself and why don't you care about me and our relationship enough to change?' And I said, 'Look, it's not about you. It's about me.'"

As this weighed heavily on him, Al promised his late father he would shed the pounds.

Over the years, the 67-year-old has become known to share walking videos, including one he posted on March 16.

"Take care of yourself and the ones around you, make sure you do that," he captioned a video of him working out on the treadmill. Two days prior, he filmed himself walking around Central Park in New York City.

English transportation officials condemn Rod Stewart for fixing potholes on neighborhood street

Sir Rod Stewart is taking community service seriously.

On social media, the rocker lamented that a street near his English home in Harlow, Essex, was in dire need of repairing, but city officials apparently hadn't deemed bettering that particular road a high enough priority. So, Rod and few pals decided that they would fix the road at their own expense.

David Fisher/Shutterstock

The "Hot Legs" singer posted a video to Instagram that shows him shoveling gravel from the back of a construction truck.

"I'm repairing the street where I live since no one has bothered to do it," he told the camera after humming the tune of Snow White's "Heigh-Ho."

The camera then panned to the road, which certainly appears to be in need of some TLC.

"People are bashing their cars up. The other day, there was an ambulance with a burst tire," Rod went on to explain. "My Ferrari can't go through here at all. Me and the boys thought we would come and do it ourselves."

As Rod stated in his Instagram caption, "Working for a living, filling holes is good for the soul!"

While locals and the vast majority of Rod's 1.1 million Instagram followers applauded him for taking matters into his own hands, Essex Highway, the department responsible for repairing roads in the area, wasn't as pleased.

"While we would like to prioritize repairs to every road, the scale of our network — over 5,000 miles — means this is impossible and we have to focus on repairing defects likely to be most detrimental to the safety of our road users," a representative told the Huffington Post. "While we appreciate Sir Rod's commitment and community spirit, we discourage anyone from carrying out work on the roads themselves. Without proper traffic management and other specific safety measures, residents are putting themselves and others at risk."

Ride on, Rod, ride on.

Fans concerned after Jessica Simpson's 'thin' appearance

Jessica Simpson's fans are raising concerns following her appearance in a new Instagram photo.

On March 14, the fashion mogul shared an image and joked that she was contemplating a new style.

"Tried something new with my fav bandana and my son's Boston hat… trend worthy? Maybe," she captioned the post, while also adding a funny face emoji.

Many of Jessica's 5.8 million followers weren't smiling, as they believed she looked too thin.

"Are you ok?????," one person asked, which garnered over 250 likes in the comments section.

People threw out words such as "concerned," "worried," "unrecognizable" and "weird."

"Her face looks super thin, I hope she's ok," another fan said. She was even compared to rockers Sammy Hagar and Dee Snider.

Several fans, though, chalked up her look to odd lighting and a bad angle, as they pointed to her appearance in recent Instagram pictures.

Erik Pendzich/Shutterstock

Of course, comments about Jessica's weight is nothing new. Back in 2019, she admitted to gaining 100 pounds, which she ended up losing after welcoming her daughter, Birdie, who will turn 3 this weekend.

"6 months. 100 pounds down (Yes, I tipped the scales at 240)," the one-time singer wrote on Instagram when revealing her weight loss in September 2019.

Nowadays, she doesn't know her weight — she doesn't even own a scale anymore.

"I have no idea how much I weigh," she told "Today" recently. "Like, I just want to feel good and be able to zip my pants up. If I don't, I have another size. I have every size."

Sandra Bullock to take acting hiatus 'for a while'

Sandra Bullock is taking a step back from acting, and she doesn't know exactly when she'll return to the big screen.

The Oscar-winning actress plans to spend more time at home with her children and longtime boyfriend, Bryan Randall. Home, she told Entertainment Tonight, is "the place that makes me happiest."

Jack Plunkett/Invision/AP/Shutterstock

Sandy has two children — son Louis, 12, and daughter Laila, 10 — both of whom she adopted. Bryan has an adult daughter from a previous relationship.

"I take my job very seriously when I'm at work, and it's 24/7," Sandy said. "I just want to be 24/7 with my babies and my family. We don't know how long or how short, but that's where I'm gonna be for a while."

As for what she plans to do during her time away from Hollywood? Be a mom.

The "Miss Congeniality" star plans on "servicing [her children's] every need" and managing "their social calendar." She added, "There are extra steps you have to take because we're still in a pandemic. All the parents know me as the crazy lady with the pandemic. They know their children will return without COVID when they've come to our house."

Evan Agostini/Invision/AP/Shutterstock

Sandra did let her kids mingle with her Hollywood pals at the premiere of her new film "The Lost City" on March 14.

"I've never had them come to a premiere," she said days before the premiere. "They'll [come in through the] back door, although Laila really wants to be on the red carpet. That's not happening. They get to see it. They get to invite a friend. This will be the first time out of this sort of dark cloud of the pandemic that they get to feel some kind of normalcy."

They'll also get to see their mother show off her comedy chops and take leeches off Channing Tatum's backside.

"Channing is so comfortable with [himself]," she said. "He knew it was for a comedy, he wasn't trying to be serious. He worked really hard to make sure when his rear end turned into frame that it was perfect. I mean, I looked, I look for imperfections, and I did not see any."

Of the "Magic Mike" star's butt, she laughed, "It's very smooth. We didn't have to do any, like, visual effects fixes. It's just like a little baby's bottom."
