'Seconds From Disaster': Delta and United Planes Nearly Collide in Mid-Air Incident Prompting FAA Probe

On Saturday, January 11,  a critical and "scary" aviation incident unfolded near Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport involving Delta Air Lines Flight 1070 from Detroit and United Airlines Flight 1724 from San Francisco. 

Both aircrafts, carrying a combined total of 368 passengers, experienced a "loss of required separation" during their final approach to the airport. This term refers to the breach of the minimum safe distance mandated between aircrafts to prevent mid-air collisions. 

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has initiated an investigation to determine the factors leading to this serious safety lapse.

Collision Alerts and Pilot Responses
As the planes converged, onboard collision avoidance systems issued urgent alerts to the flight crews, signaling the immediate danger of proximity, People reported. In response, air traffic control provided corrective instructions to both pilots to adjust their flight paths and altitudes. 

The swift actions of the pilots, adhering to these directives, were instrumental in averting a potential disaster. Both aircrafts subsequently landed safely at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.
Eyewitness Accounts and Public Reaction
The incident was witnessed by local aviation enthusiast Justin Giddens, who captured the near-miss on video. Giddens recounted his alarm upon observing the two planes on intersecting paths, stating, "It was immediate panic mode… it was very, very close." 

"I know the way the planes are supposed to be in the pattern on approach to Sky Harbor," he said. "So the big and the small plane kind of make it look like they were a lot further apart, [but] it was very, very close."

His footage has since circulated widely, prompting public concern over aviation safety protocols and the effectiveness of air traffic control measures in preventing potential crashes.

In the aftermath, both Delta Air Lines and United Airlines issued statements emphasizing their commitment to passenger safety. 

Delta highlighted that their flight crews are "extensively trained to handle uncommon scenarios such as this," highlighting the effectiveness of their training programs. 

UA confirmed that their pilots "acted immediately" upon receiving the cockpit alert, following established safety procedures to ensure the aircraft's safe landing.

The FAA's ongoing investigation aims to uncover the root causes of the incident, including potential lapses in air traffic control communications, pilot actions and the functionality of onboard alert systems. 

Findings from this inquiry are anticipated to influence future regulatory measures and training protocols within the aviation industry, reinforcing the imperative of stringent safety standards to prevent similar occurrences.

While near-miss incidents are rare, they serve as critical reminders of the complexities involved in air traffic management and the importance of adherence to safety protocols to avoid a "seconds from disaster" type of scenario. 

"The aviation industry maintains rigorous standards to ensure passenger safety and continuous improvements are made in response to such events to uphold and enhance these safety measures," an aviation expert shared on X.

Sally Field's Pacific Palisades Home Miraculously Survives Los Angeles Wildfires: See the Astonishing Evidence

The Pacific Palisades was devastated by the wildfires in Los Angeles, Calif., impacting many of its A-list residents.
However, actress Sally Field's property survived the natural disaster, even when the homes near hers caught on fire.

Field took to Instagram on Tuesday, January 14, to grieve for her city, revealing that she didn't know at the time that her estate was still intact.
"This is the progression of what I saw over the last week from when I could see the beginning of the fire from my backyard," the Oscar winner wrote while sharing photos of the city on fire.
"I got out with my dog and the clothes on my back when the flames started coming over the ridge," she shared when describing her evacuation experience. "I haven't seen what remains of my home, though I think it might have survived thanks to three heroes in my neighborhood, Fred, Mike and Randy. I have not enough words. For any of it."


Field, who purchased her residence in 2012, has been a lifelong Angeleno.
"I know my neighborhood has been decimated," the Brothers & Sisters star told her Instagram followers. "My heart is with everyone affected by these fires and my enduring gratitude to the heroes, the men and women on the front lines fighting the fires."
"I was born in Altadena, I live in the Palisades, my heart is with my beloved Los Angeles, My hometown," she concluded.
Anthony Hopkins, Miles Teller, Anna Faris and more Pacific Palisades residents lost their homes in early January.
The Eaton and Palisades fires continue to be the most catastrophic in Southern Californian history, and local firefighters and government have yet to find a way to stop the City of Angels from the scorching winds.
California governor Gavin Newsom discussed the severe weather on Wednesday, January 8.
"This is a highly dangerous windstorm that's creating extreme fire risk — and we're not out of the woods. We're already seeing the destructive impacts with this fire in Pacific Palisades that grew rapidly in a matter of minutes," Newsom said in a statement.
"Our deepest thanks go to our expert firefighters and first responders who jumped quickly into fighting this dangerous fire," he continued. "If you're in Southern California, please pay attention to weather reports and follow any guidance from emergency officials."

Despite the ongoing wildfires, the Recording Academy confirmed that the Grammy Awards will take place as planned on Sunday, February 2.

MusiCares Gala Continues With Relief Focus
While many events are being canceled, the MusiCares Person of the Year gala will proceed as planned, honoring the Grateful Dead on Friday, January 31. 
This year's event will place added emphasis on raising funds for wildfire relief, demonstrating the music industry's "solidarity" with those affected by the disaster.
Beyoncé and Other Artists Postpone Announcements
In light of the crisis, Grammy mainstay Beyoncé postponed a highly anticipated announcement, expressing sympathy for affected families and appreciation for first responders. 
Her foundation, BeyGOOD, has pledged $2.5 million dollars to the L.A. Fire Relief Fund, exemplifying the philanthropic efforts of artists during this time.
Plus, the nominee's announcement for the 97th Annual Academy Awards was postponed from Friday, January 17, to Sunday, January 19. 
Academy CEO Bill Kramer shared, "We want to offer our deepest condolences to those who have been impacted by the devastating fires across Southern California. So many of our members and industry colleagues live and work in the Los Angeles area, and we are thinking of you."
Community Unites for Relief Efforts
The wildfires have prompted a unified response from the Hollywood community, with benefit concerts and significant donations supporting those affected.

The cast of Severance surprised busy New Yorkers in Grand Central Station in Manhattan, N.Y., on Tuesday, January 14, while promoting the Season 2.
Adam Scott, Britt Lower and Patricia Arquette were all seen recreating the show's severed office inside a glass box.

The second season of Severance airs on Friday, January 17, and Ben Stiller, who is the director and executive producer, chose to use the historic landmark to help promote the upcoming episodes.


"Grand Central right now. #Severance," Stiller posted to X, formerly known as Twitter, on January 14.
Before announcing the crew's arrival, Stiller told his 5.3 million followers: "Rush hour today should be interesting."

Fans rushed to praise Stiller and the team's unique strategy.
"THIS is amazing marketing," one person commented.
Another added, "Kinda insane they got the real actors to do this," while another said, "Top tier marketing. Someone is getting a promotion. No. Not the Severance characters."
The workplace thriller, which first aired on Apple TV+ in 2022, immediately resonated with audiences.
The show follows Lumon employees, who sever their work environment from their personal lives. The workers undergo an operation that allows them to forget about their jobs once they go home, but things aren't as balanced as they seem.


Critics often praise the Zoolander star and creator Dan Erickson's vision for Severance, including leading man Adam Scott, who applauded Stiller's vision.
"One of Ben Stiller's superpowers, I think, is casting and finding the right people for roles. He's really, really good at it," Scott told People.
"Our core cast is unbelievable already, but we have some just great people coming in for season two, that I can't wait for everyone to see," he added.

Beware of the 'Quad-Demic': 4 Winter Viruses Taking Over This Winter

Sickness is at an all-time high in the United States this winter.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, there are four major viruses infecting millions of Americans. COVID-19, influenza, RSV and norovirus are currently creating what experts call a "quad-demic" with record-high cases.
With people gathering indoors due to the colder temperatures, bigger influx of ill patients in hospitals is putting a strain on healthcare workers.

"It [has] a huge impact, not just on the individual who's sick, but on the community," assistant professor of medicine and hospital epidemiologist at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, Geeta Sood, MD, ScM, explained in an interview with Health.

"The entire healthcare system can be impacted when you have high rates of all of these infections at the same time," she pointed out.
Here are the four viruses you should be aware of this winter…
COVID-19
Unfortunately, we did not leave COVID-19 in 2020. Shira Doron, MD, chief infection control officer for Tufts Medicine and hospital epidemiologist at Tufts Medical Center, claimed that the infamous virus continues to infect the public due to dry and cold conditions.

The first week in January 2025 saw COVID accounting for 1.3 percent of emergency department visits in America. However, Doron said the rates have appeared to have reached a plateau.
Influenza (The Flu)
The traditional flu has continued to intensify over the past few weeks. Per the CDC, numerous states are currently seeing high or very high levels of influenza. We have a long way to go, as Doron claimed we won't see a drop in rates until February.
According to the statistics, the flu was the cause of 4.8 percent of emergency doctor visits during the start of the year.
Norovirus
Norovirus cases are skyrocketing this winter. "Norovirus is experiencing a relatively high year," Doron explained. "It's not a terrible outlier, but it's not a good year for norovirus."
According to reports, from August 1 to December 11, 2024, the United States experienced 495 norovirus outbreaks. However, Doron thinks the numbers will grow due to the virus' passing symptoms.
"You can't treat norovirus, so you're not really trying very hard to find it," she added. "It is the most common cause of nausea, vomiting and diarrhea, so you're just going to generally manage it symptomatically and with hydration."
RSV
On a positive note, Doron believes RSV has peaked for the 2024-2025 season. The illness, which is a respiratory syncytial virus, accounted for only 0.9 percent of hospital visits this winter.

"These respiratory infections and norovirus are inevitable. Everyone's going to come in contact with them. You can run, but you can't hide from them," Doron continued. "The best way to protect yourself is to be really healthy when you do get a cold."

On Monday, January 13, while standing amidst the charred remnants of affected neighborhoods, Newsom's unexpected shoulder shimmy and broad smile sparked a flurry of reactions across social media platforms. 

"Uh… is he okay? Hair gel Newsom thinks people whose lives are decimated at the moment should shake it off, I guess that's what he means," an X commenter shared.

The Shimmy Seen 'Round the Internet'
During the interview with a local L.A. Fox affiliate, Newsom discussed concerns about property speculators targeting fire-ravaged areas. He mentioned consulting with Hawaii Governor Josh Green about "land use issues," stating while giving an odd chuckle, "[Green] had some ideas about some land use concerns he has around speculators coming in, buying up properties and the like." 

Accompanying his comments with a noticeable shoulder shimmy and a wide grin, the governor nervously shared, "We're already working with our legal teams to move those things forward and we'll be presenting those in a matter of days, not just weeks."

Beyond the humor, some critics expressed concern over the appropriateness of Newsom's demeanor during a serious discussion about the devastating fires.
They argued that his lighthearted behavior seemed out of touch with the gravity of the situation, where many residents have lost homes and their lives have been disrupted. 
"Under the reign of Governor Newsom, living in California has become impossible for average people through years of poor policies," a nonpartisan organization shared in 2024 via The New York Post. "This was most recently demonstrated by the woefully unprepared and incompetent response to the fires currently ravaging the Los Angeles area."
Newsom's Response
As of now, Governor Newsom has not publicly addressed the backlash stemming from his on-air behavior. 
His office remained silent on the matter, leaving constituents and commentators to interpret the incident without official clarification. 
"Silence is not the way to proceed after this," a PR analyst said on X. 
Public Perception… A Balancing Act
The episode highlights the delicate balance public officials must maintain between "conveying empathy and authority during the inferno crisis," with L.A. Mayor Karen Bass also feeling the heat the past week. 
Newsom's shimmy, intended or not, "does not bode well for his future hopes for the White House because this meme is not going anywhere… ever," the analyst observed.

Looking to Avoid the Stomach Bug? Biggest Tips to Protect Yourself From Norovirus

Bad news! Hand sanitizer isn't the best way to combat contracting the stomach bug.
As winter rages on, many people are doing their best to stay healthy and avoid norovirus, which can cause vomiting, stomach aches, nausea and diarrhea.
According to Dr. Craig Wilen, an associate professor of laboratory medicine and immunology at the Yale School of Medicine, winter is when you'll likely get sick.

This year, cases of norovirus have reached new heights. "We are seeing a lot of outbreaks now, so it's greater than the past couple years," he explained during a recent interview with Today.

"This year, the number of reported norovirus outbreaks have exceeded the numbers that we've seen recently and in the years before the pandemic," a spokesperson for the CDC emphasized to the outlet.
Unfortunately, the virus spreads rapidly between people through viral particles contained in feces and vomit, a process known as "fecal-oral transmission."
The more common ways they attach themselves to people is through direct human contact or any object the virus touches.

"The virus can be stable for days, if not longer," Wilen claimed. "Then someone can touch that surface or eat something that has the virus on it and get infected that way."
Wilen made it clear a person is most contiguous when they are exhibiting symptoms — but they could also spread the virus for up to two weeks or more.
"They can shed the virus asymptomatically, and it's likely those people that are helping to initiate these outbreaks," he added.
So, how can we avoid getting sick? According to Dr. William Schaffner, professor of infectious diseases at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, hand sanitizer is not the answer.
"It's the lipids that are really susceptible to ethanol-based hand sanitizers," he noted during an interview with the outlet, adding how it tears down the outer layer and inactivates the virus.
Luckily, the old-fashioned method of washing your hands will be more effective. "Soap is a detergent and it can dissolve and break apart the capsid and inactivate the virus pretty efficiently," Schaffner pointed out.
Schaffner does make it clear hand sanitizers are "somewhat effective," but "soap is definitely the way to go."
Per the CDC, washing your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds numerous times throughout the day will keep norovirus at bay.

Ensure to scrub up every time you go to the bathroom, before eating, making food, when giving someone medication or changing a child's diapers.
Everyone should also be wiping down surfaces after every use to make sure virus particles don't attach and spread.
Wilen said most household cleaners will get rid of the germs and can be a "primary activation agent." However, any bleach-based products are especially effective.

With norovirus not having any drug or vaccines as a solution, it's imperative to keep yourself safe.

L.A Inferno Keeps Raging: 'No End in Sight'
The City of Angels is grappling with relentless wildfires, with experts cautioning that the infernos may persist for several more days. 

The Palisades Fire, igniting over a week ago, remains only 17 percent contained while scorching approximately 24,000 acres — nearly half the size of Brooklyn, NYC. In total, Southern California has witnessed over 40,000 acres consumed by flames in recent weeks, reports show.

Here are five key takeaways from officials on when the blaze could end.

It's All About the Wind
The notorious Santa Ana winds have "exacerbated" the situation, propelling the fires with hot, dry gusts. 
AccuWeather senior meteorologist Heather Zehr noted, "Last week, those winds were so strong that they were out-racing the firefighters. Once the winds calm down they should pretty quickly be able to get control." 
While there's been a slight improvement in weather conditions, the winds continue to challenge containment efforts.
Furthermore, if the gusts change direction from their current track of "mixing arid desert air in their vortex in exchange for moist air from the ocean," conditions could further improve, sources say.
Firefighting Forces Stretched Thin
Nearly 5,000 firefighters are valiantly battling the blazes, yet full containment "remains elusive." 

Zehr expressed even more concern by highlighting Mother Nature's lack of help, stating: "Normally the rains come around this time, but there has been a very slow start to this. There will be very minimal chances between now and the end of January."

However, it largely remains the unpredictable nature of the winds that keep the situation "precarious."
Communities on Edge
Residents in affected areas are on high alert, with evacuation orders in place and many homes at risk. The fires have already claimed lives and destroyed properties, leaving communities turned upside down in the county's worst fire outbreak in recorded history. 
The Los Angeles Times reported that the death toll from the fires has risen to 25, with over 82,000 residents under evacuation orders highlighting the fires' life-changing impact.
Environmental Toll
Beyond human casualties, and thousands of structures destroyed, the fires have wreaked havoc on local ecosystems, with vast tracts of vegetation reduced to ash. 

The destruction of habitats poses long-term challenges for wildlife and environmental recovery in the area further adding to the "grief" many residents and fans of the "immaculate" areas are feeling. 

"It will never be the same again. When people think of L.A. and Hollywood now, those are just memories because the city is virtually destroyed," one community member posted on X. 
Awaiting Relief
While forecasts suggest potential weather improvements, providing some hope, the exact timeline for full containment remains uncertain. 
Authorities urge residents to stay informed and prepared, emphasizing that the battle against these wildfires is far from over. The New York Post reported that the situation remains critical.
As Los Angeles endures this fiery ordeal, the resilience and determination of its people stand as a testament to the city's enduring spirit, according to one wildfire expert.
"It was people that built Los Angeles into what it is known for, and it can be done again," someone shared on Bluesky.

The world record was previously held by adult film star Lisa Sparks, who was intimate with 919 men in one day.


Blue celebrated her accomplishment on social media.
"Over 1,000 men in a day!" Bonnie wrote in an Instagram caption shared on Sunday, January 12. "Thank you to all the barely legal, barely breathing & the husbands."
Blue, whose legal name is Tia Billinger, is from Nottinghamshire, England, and she previously worked in recruitment before joining OnlyFans in 2023.
The social media personality moved to Australia in 2021 before launching her NSFW platform.
"Within my first month, I made over 10,000 Australian dollars ($6,200 USD) just from videos online," she told Mamamia.







The 25-year-old documented her experience about her recent accomplishment on TikTok.
"The room was absolutely full," Blue said in the clip. "Then we did groups of five. Like, one after the other."
"I wanted to give people more time, so then it went down to, like, one on ones," Blue explained. "So, like, one person would watch when I was with somebody [and then] it would rotate in a circle like that."

Blue rose in popularity online by marketing herself to "barely legal" college students. As a business strategy, the blonde beauty often attended university events to expand her clientele.
"I was bored of living in the 9 to 5, so [thought] I'm gonna give this a go. I've done Cancun in March, I've done Schoolies, which is in Australia and then Freshers' in the U.K.," Blue said on the "Dream On" podcast.
"I share my location online," she revealed. "I was like 'This is where I'm gonna be, let me pleasure you' and there was a massive queue. People were waiting for over eight hours."
Blue has over 100,00 followers on Instagram, but she's been criticized by many social media users for being "predatory."
"I receive backlash for sleeping with barely legal 18-year-olds, but the key word in that sentence is 'legal,'" she told Cosmopolitan U.K. "Rather than comment on my TikToks, people should complain to the government to increase the age from 18 to 21, [as] I'm only complying with U.K. law."

Brooke Shields continues to dazzle during her press tour for her new book, Brooke Shields Is Not Allowed to Get Old: Thoughts on Aging as a Woman.
In the memoir, which was released on January 14, Shields makes a few shocking revelations about maturing in the spotlight, as the former model has been in the public eye since she was 11 years old.

Vaginal Rejuvenation
Shields had a "cosmetic" procedure on her labia, but her doctor ended up giving her a vaginal rejuvenation without her consent.
"'After two kids, everything is looser,' he said. He acted as if he'd done me a favor, and that I should, in fact, be grateful," Shields wrote. "There was a real 'I threw this in for free, little lady' vibe to his delivery."
"But I had never asked to be 'tightened' or 'rejuvenated' (translation: given a younger v——). It was not something I wanted. I felt numb," she added.
Lotions and Potions
Due to her gynecological operation, Shields revealed that she needs a little assistance when getting intimate with her husband, Chris Henchy, as intercourse has become painful.
Shields shared that she needs her "lotions and potions" for her to "fully enjoy s– at this point."
"My doctor told me I should start taking testosterone — sure you might get a few more whiskers, but that's what tweezers are for — but I haven't gotten there yet," she penned. "For now, I'm counting on the old 'the more you have it, the more you'll enjoy it' approach."
Body Image and Divorce
Shields discussed how her body image became a concern while married to tennis star Andre Agassi.
Throughout her modeling career, Shields was told she was "not runway worthy" because she wasn't "skinny enough." The constant criticism led her to develop insecurities, but Agassi reminded his then-wife of her beauty.
"I wish you could see yourself the way I see you," Shields claimed he told her. However, when the mom-of-two asked if he'd love her if she was "big and fat" during pregnancy, his response shocked her.
"I love you too much to let you get big and fat," the athlete supposedly replied.

"I definitely did not see that coming and must admit I started to spin a bit. But we all know how that relationship turned out, so let's move on," the Princeton alum noted.
Fertility Issues and a Miscarriage
Before welcoming her two daughters, Grier and Rowan, Shields struggled with fertility issues. While in her mid-30s, the working mom had an irregular pap smear, which resulted in her needing a cone biopsy.
Medical professionals later found irregular cells in her cervical area, which the team thought they would eventually become cancerous. In order to protect herself, Shields had the tissue removed, but doctors "practically took out" her cervix in the process.
Due to the surgery, Shields used IVF to conceive her two kids. Her first attempt resulted in a pregnancy, but she later lost the fetus a few months later.
"What ensued was probably the worst twelve straight hours of my life," she revealed. "The miscarriage was so violent and excruciatingly painful that when it came time for a second IVF attempt I actually asked my doctor: 'Do you think it hurt so much because the scar tissue was getting stretched? Is that possible??'"
Tom Cruise Apologized
In 2005, Tom Cruise called Shields' use of antidepressants to treat postpartum depression "irresponsible."
While chatting with Matt Lauer on the Today show, Cruise said "psychiatry is a pseudo-science" and that "drugs aren't the answer."
Shortly after being publicly shamed by the actor, Shields published an op-ed in The New York Times. Despite the tension between them, Cruise was remorseful after his interview aired.
"He came to my house and said he was sorry," she said. "It wasn't the world's best apology, but it's what he was capable of."

Life After Agassi

Shields and Agassi were married from 1997 until 1999, but the pair never had children during their time together. However, Shields doesn't regret waiting until tying the knot with Chris Henchy to become a parent.
"I'm glad I never got pregnant with my first husband because it would have been a disaster," she revealed.
"When we got divorced he made that very clear. 'Be thankful we didn't have children,' he said, 'because I would not have made this easy for you.' Well, thank you for that tidbit, I thought," she continued.

According to registered dietitian and founder of the Keys to Nutrition, Courtney Smith, there's one major way to shed some pounds in 2025 — by ditching booze!
Though it's only been a few weeks into the new year, the specialist told The New York Post why curbing your alcohol intake could keep you slim.

"Obviously, drinking fewer calories from alcohol will aid weight loss, but I think that most people don't know that on a calories per gram basis, alcohol is very high," she explained to the outlet.
Smith claimed alcohol has seven calories per gram and doesn't have any benefit to your health. In comparison, protein and carbohydrates have four calories per gram.
"Alcohol is almost as high in calories as fat; just by definition, drinking it is going to hinder weight loss," the expert noted.

Smith also pointed out how loss of control when drinking contributes to putting unhealthy food in your body. "I think many people end up eating a second dinner when they're having a night out drinking," she said.

"Essentially, after going out or at the end of their night, they're having two slices of pizza," the health guru stated.
Without the temptation of staying at the bars all night long, Smith said people are more inclined to wake up early and get a workout in. "If you're drinking a margarita at dinner, you might lean toward the french fries over the salad," she continued.

"The next morning, you're going to lean toward greasy or sugary foods to heal your hangover," she explained. "Following a night of drinking, you're less likely to exercise, and if you do manage to make it to the gym, you're less likely to perform at the level you would if you had stayed sober."
While Smith is a proponent of Dry January and taking a step back from the booze, other experts have linked alcohol consumption to a higher risk of cancer.

"Certainly, a reduction of drinking, even if for a short period, can improve overall bodily function, especially in regard to liver function," clinical psychologist at New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center, Dr. Aimee Chiligiris, told CBS.

"Taking a break from alcohol or substances in general and resetting to focus on yourself can give you a blank slate of, 'What am I going to do to be social? To take care of my body today?'" she said.

The disgraced rapper, 55, was arrested in September 2024 and pleaded not guilty on charges of alleged s– trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and transportation to engage in prostitution. He's also been accused of sexual assault by numerous people.
Now, Combs' team of attorneys penned a seven-page legal letter — obtained by Deadline — to Judge Arun Subramanian, claiming his so-called "freak offs" were not as depraved as prosecutors are making them out to be and that he's innocent from the allegations lodged against him.

"Far from the government's lurid descriptions, the videos show adults having consensual s–, plain and simple," the Tuesday, January 14, dated document alleged of the evidence.
The lawyers allege the "Coming Home" musician did nothing wrong in his interactions with "Victim-1," who accused Combs of alleged assault.
"At bottom, this case is about whether Victim-I was or was not a willing participant in her private s– life with Mr. Combs. The videos confirm that she plainly was," the note read.
"There is no evidence of any violence, coercion, threats, or manipulation whatsoever," the legal team continued to emphasize about the "quite dark and grainy" intimate tapes of the mogul and his accusers.
"There is no evidence that anyone is incapacitated or under the influence of drugs or excessive alcohol consumption. There is certainly no evidence of s– trafficking," they added.




Combs and his legal advisors point fingers at the government, claiming they want to "police non-conforming s—– activity."
"Any fair-minded viewer of the videos will quickly conclude that the prosecution of Mr. Combs is both sexist and puritanical," the attorneys wrote. "It is sexist because the government's theory perpetuates stereotypes of female victimhood and lack of agency."
"The prosecution reflects a paternalistic view that the government is here to protect women, who cannot be trusted to make their own decisions about s– and are not capable of consenting to s– that the prosecutors view as outside the 'norm,'" they added.

The Making the Band alum is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., as he awaits his upcoming day in court.

In the latest set of accusations against Combs, an anonymous woman sued him and two of his employees, alleging she was drugged and sexually assaulted by the chart-topper when she was 16 years old in 2000 as she was leaving a babysitting job in New York City.
"Combs engaged her in conversation, asking where she was going so late at night, and that it was not safe for her to be walking alone," the suit claimed.

The female alleged Combs offered to give her a ride home, but she declined. However, "after much cajoling by Combs, she agreed and got into his car … something [the] plaintiff would come to regret forever."

Despite the endless allegations coming at him, Combs and his team have continued to deny any wrongdoing. "No matter how many lawsuits are filed, it won't change the fact that Mr. Combs has never sexually assaulted, or s– trafficked anyone — man or woman, adult or minor," his attorneys said in a statement. "We live in a world where anyone can file a lawsuit for any reason. Fortunately, a fair and impartial judicial process exists to find the truth, and Mr. Combs is confident he will prevail in court."

Kate, Princess of Wales, 43, recently made a heartfelt visit to the Royal Marsden Hospital in London, where she received cancer treatment last year. Her visit was marked by several significant moments and announcements, reflecting her journey and commitment to supporting cancer care.

She engaged with current patients, offering words of encouragement and sharing her experiences. "The treatments are really tough, but the support here makes a world of difference," Her Royal Highness remarked.

Prince William's wife has made only a handful of appearances since undergoing abdominal surgery nearly one year ago, which led to a cancer diagnosis and "grueling" six-month chemotherapy regimen before she beat the disease.

The fashion icon HRH wore a long and warm-looking double-breasted burgundy and orange tartan coat with signature heels, while her long-flowing hair looked "thicker and brighter as she continues to recover from chemo," one fan wrote on X.

Kate Is in Remission
During her visit, the Princess of Wales announced that she is in remission from cancer, stating, "It is a relief." 

She emphasized the importance of self-care and positivity during recovery, advising patients to "appreciate life's small joys."

"The treatments are really so different and so varied, it impacts families differently," she said. "I was just saying, coming in the front entrance here, having made so many quiet, private visits, actually it's quite nice."
Joint Patronage With Prince William
In a touching development, it was announced that Catherine, Princess of Wales and Prince William became joint patrons of The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust. 

Dame Cally Palmer, the Trust's Chief Executive, expressed, "We were honored to welcome Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales to The Royal Marsden in Chelsea this morning, and are delighted that Her Royal Highness is now joining His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales in becoming Joint Patrons of our specialist cancer center."
Sharing Personal Insights on Recovery
Her Royal Highness, who will become Queen consort when her husband becomes king, mentioned that staying hydrated and spending time outdoors was vital to her recovery, stating, "You need loads of water and sunlight." 



She told a patient, "The body is amazing at telling us, 'You need to take time out.'"

Like her mother-in-law, the late Diana, Princess of Wales, Kate is known for her love of sports, particularly tennis, and is believed to follow a strict diet and exercise routine as part of her "non-negotiable" daily habits. 
Expressing Gratitude to Supporters
In a heartfelt social media message signed "C," Princess Kate thanked those who supported her and the Prince of Wales during her cancer journey. She acknowledged the challenges of adjusting to life post-treatment and conveyed her commitment to helping others impacted by cancer through her new role. 

It is customary for British princesses to sign any correspondence with the initial of their first name.

"My heartfelt thanks goes to all those who have quietly walked alongside William and me as we have navigated everything," she wrote. "We couldn't have asked for more."
Reflecting on a 'Brutal' Year
Princess Kate's recent carol service last December reflected on her challenging year with cancer. 

She described her diagnosis and treatment as an "incredibly tough" experience, highlighting the importance of support and resilience. 

"It is this love which is the greatest gift we can receive. Not just at Christmas, but every day of our lives," Britain's next queen shared in a letter to invited guests. "Love is the light that can shine bright, even in our darkest times. We all have something we can offer one another. Gentle words or a receptive ear, an arm around an exhausted shoulder, or silently being by someone's side."

Wild Coyote Yanked by Police in Chicago Aldi Supermarket: Watch the Shocking Clip

Aldi shoppers in Chicago, Ill., were shocked when police officers pulled a wild coyote out of an aisle.
In a now-viral Instagram reel, a cop is seen pulling a furry tail out of a row of refrigerated goods.
Barstool Sports producer Edward Farrer posted a reel of the coyote on his account.
"I expected him to pull out a raccoon or opossum NOT a d— coyote," Farrer shared.
"Pulling a coyote out WITH YOUR HANDS BY ITS TAIL is absolutely diabolical behavior," one follower commented.
"This coyote stuff getting out of control," another added.

Coyote sightings aren't uncommon in urban areas, but the animal hiding in the Humboldt Park grocery store surprised many social media users.
"It picked an odd location. They do this sometimes. They make a mistake. They're trying to avoid us. They're trying to hide from us," Stan Gehrt with the Cook County Coyote Project told ABC 7 Chicago.
"Probably trying to find a new area to hide ended up inside the store, and this has happened in the past," he added.

From January until March, coyotes are significantly more active because it's their mating season.
"Some of these animals, the ones especially that make a mistake, and they find themselves into a building, often are what we call transient animals, so these are animals that actually don't have a mate yet," Gehrt explained.


The coyote is currently being monitored by Chicago's Animal Control and Care Department.
"The animal is currently at our facility awaiting transfer to our wildlife rehabilitation partner, Flint Creek Wildlife Rehabilitation," Chicago Animal Control and Care told NBC Chicago.
"The coyote appears uninjured, but Flint Creek will conduct an assessment to confirm its health before releasing it back into the wild if deemed appropriate," they added.

The Real Reason Ivanka Trump's Steering Clear of the White House: Family, Future or Something More?

Prioritizing Family Life
Ivanka Trump, 43, daughter of former President Donald Trump, 78, has chosen not to return to the White House for her father's second term to the disappointment of her fans. 

"The main reason I am not going back to serve now is I know the cost and it's a price that I'm not willing to make my kids bear," she revealed on the "Skinny Confidential" podcast. "My highest most core value is family. And my kids were much younger, so it was easier to not be present. But when you have kids that are teenagers, about to be teenagers, your physical presence matters so much."

Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner, 44, relocated to sunny Miami, Fla., while focusing on raising their three children. The couple has settled on Indian Creek Island, known as the "Billionaire's Bunker," where they enjoy a private and family-oriented lifestyle.

Emotional Toll of Previous Political Involvement
The couple's prior roles as senior White House advisers from 2017 to 2021 led to significant personal challenges, including the loss of friendships and social backlash. Ivanka has expressed that the experience "took its toll," influencing her decision to step back from the political world.
"I love policy and impact. I hate politics," she spilled on the program. "And unfortunately the two are not… there is a darkness to that world that I don't really want to welcome into mine. To some degree, I'm at the center of the storm because my father is about to be president. It's a very dark negative. And some people love like the gladiator aspect of it, you know, the fight that …  that was never me."
Focus on Private Ventures
Post-White House, Ivanka and Jared redirected their efforts toward private business endeavors. 
In November 2024, sources told The Cut that the incoming first daughter's spouse had been concentrating on his private equity firm Affinity Partners while Ivanka was exploring initiatives related to technology leadership and child safety.
They also revealed the former presidential advisers were "enjoying" life in Miami after "fleeing" the New York City social scene. 
Commitment to Personal Well-Being
Reflecting on her past experiences, and always one for healthy living advocacy, Ivanka highlighted the importance of setting boundaries and focusing on healing and positivity, seemingly indicating a shift toward prioritizing her personal well-being over political engagements.
On November 4 last year, which was Election Eve in America, Ivanka got philosophical on her Instagram by sharing, "'The price of anything is the amount of life you exchange for it.' – Henry David Thoreau. Spend your time and energy on what truly matters. 'Thinking is difficult; that's why most people judge.' – Carl Jung. What you judge, you cannot understand. Instead, observe, study, and learn."
Support from a Distance
While maintaining support for her father, Ivanka prefers to do so from afar this term, choosing not to engage directly in political activities but to remain a supportive daughter in her personal capacity.
"While I will always love and support my father, going forward I will do so outside the political arena," she said last October.

"We're rooting for him — obviously, we're proud of him," Jared told an outlet. "But, you know, either way, our life will just continue to move forward."

Despite Pence's consistent refusal, Trump persisted, culminating in public and private demands that placed Pence in a precarious position during a critical constitutional process.

One analyst claimed that the former second-in-command's political career "will likely never recover thanks to how Trump poisoned his base against" him.
Trump Pressured Electors in 7 States
Investigators found that Trump and his team targeted electors in seven key states, Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, New Mexico, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, urging them to overturn the legitimate election results. 

This strategy involved coordinating with state officials and legislators to submit alternative slates of electors, thereby disrupting the formal Electoral College proceedings, which is largely ceremonial.

Smith summarized that Trump wanted his supporters to discover "how best to mimic the manner in which the state required valid electors to gather and vote."
Co-Conspirators Discovered But Not Indicted
The report identifies several individuals who collaborated with Trump in his efforts to overturn the election. 

While these co-conspirators played significant roles, they have not been indicted, possibly due to insufficient evidence to meet the legal threshold for charges or strategic prosecutorial decisions.

A commenter on X wrote, "Vile and abhorrent crimes and criminals are getting a pass just because Trump is the incoming president. That's the summary, folks. Unbelievable."
Trump Pins Blame on Nancy Pelosi and Others
In response to the report, the President-elect deflected responsibility for the events of January 6, 2021, onto then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. He once claimed that Pelosi failed to adequately secure the Capitol, thereby allowing the unrest to escalate. This narrative has been a consistent element of Trump's defense strategy.

Smith Stands by Decision to Prosecute Trump
Despite the complexities introduced by Trump's re-election, Special Counsel Smith maintains that pursuing charges was the appropriate course of action. He emphasizes that the investigation was conducted with integrity and in accordance with legal standards, highlighting the importance of accountability in upholding democratic principles.

The 45th president's defenders and Trump himself have called it all "nothing but a witch hunt," and the "Russia hoax all over again."
Classified Documents Probe Not to Be Released

The report also addresses the investigation into Trump's handling of classified documents. Due to ongoing legal proceedings involving associates of Trump, details of this probe will remain confidential to avoid compromising related cases.

Donald Trump is set to be inaugurated as the 47th president on Monday, January 20.

Gisele Bündchen is a stunning mama-to-be!
The pregnant supermodel, 44, was spotted walking her dogs in Miami, Fla., on Monday, January 13, with a huge smile plastered on her face as she brought her pups for some exercise.

Bündchen, who shares daughter Vivian and son Benjamin with ex Tom Brady, is expecting her first kid with her boyfriend, Joaquim Valente.

The Brazilian beauty rocked a white sweatshirt, black leggings while hiding under a white baseball cap as she made her way through the neighborhood with one of her small pooches and another large hound.
Insiders close to the mother-of-two revealed the happy news last year following Bündchen's 2022 divorce from the football star.

"Gisele and Joaquim are happy for this new chapter in their life and they're looking forward to creating a peaceful and loving environment for the whole family," a source told People in October 2024.
Bündchen and Valente, who is the family's jiu-jitsu trainer, have been linked since November 2022 after they were seen in Provincia de Puntarenas in Costa Rica with her two kids.

However, the couple didn't make their relationship public until June 2023, long after her split with Brady was finalized.
In October 2022, the matriarch and the footballer announced they were pulling the plug on their union after 13 years. "The decision to end a marriage is never easy but we have grown apart and while it is, of course, difficult to go through something like this, I feel blessed for the time we spent together and only wish the best for Tom always," she penned in the announcement shared to Instagram.

Brady shared his sorrow in a post of his own, but made clear their children were always their top priority.
"We arrived at this decision amicably and with gratitude for the time we spent together. We are blessed with beautiful and wonderful children who will continue to be the center of our world in every way. We will continue to work together as parents to always ensure they receive the love and attention they deserve," the NFL star noted.

Moving on from Brady and their life together was difficult for Bündchen at first. "I think there's easier days than others, and I can only control what I do," she admitted in a March 2024 interview with Good Morning America as she got emotional.

"Where my heart is now is where I am right now. I'm living my truth, and I'm not apologizing for it," Bündchen added.

"Anna and her family are safe and very grateful," a representative for the Scary Movie star told People on Wednesday, January 8.
Billy Crystal
Billy Crystal is often known for his comedic skills, but the actor avoided finding the humor in his loss. The star and his wife, Janice Crystal, lived in the Pacific Palisades for over 40 years.
"Words cannot describe the enormity of the devastation we are witnessing and experiencing. We ache for our friends and neighbors who have also lost their homes and businesses in this tragedy," the A-lister said in a statement.

"Janice and I lived in our home since 1979," Billy continued. "We raised our children and grandchildren here. Every inch of our house was filled with love. Beautiful memories that can't be taken away. We are heartbroken of course but with the love of our children and friends we will get through this."

Julia Louis-Dreyfus and her husband, Brad Hall, purchased their Los Angeles, Calif., mansion in the 1990s, but the residence no longer exists.

Can Milk Lower a Woman's Risk of Colorectal Cancer? New Study Says Yes

Milk can help women curb the chances of being diagnosed with colorectal cancer.



According to a new study conducted in England and published in Nature, if females ingest 300 mg of calcium daily, they could lower their cancer risk by 17 percent. In a fortunate discovery, the measurement is the equivalent of one glass of milk.

"Dairy products (including evidence for total dairy, milk and cheese, as well as dietary calcium) and calcium supplements probably decrease the risk of colorectal cancer," Oxford University and Cancer Research U.K. claimed in the study, which followed health patterns of more than 542,000 women over 16 years.
One of the top researchers, Dr. Keren Papier, told the BBC how their findings "highlight the potential protective role of dairy, largely due to calcium, in the development of bowel cancer."
However, this doesn't mean you should scarf down anything and everything. "Of the dairy-related foods and nutrients examined in the present study, all were inversely associated with risk of colorectal cancer, except for cheese and ice cream," the study made clear.
The research also found that calcium acts as a protectant because it binds to bile acids and free fatty acids in the colon.

"We conclude that dairy products help protect against colorectal cancer," the report stated. "And that this is driven largely or wholly by calcium."

Elsewhere in the study, researchers found an 8 percent higher risk of colorectal cancer in people who maintain "higher red and processed meat consumption" and noted "a larger association for processed meat than for red meat."
Luckily, milk isn't the only food sufficient for calcium if you don't like consuming animal products in your diet. "If you don't drink dairy milk, there are other ways you can get calcium," Dr. Lisa Wilde, from the charity Bowel Cancer U.K., explained.
