Billy Joel shows off 50-pound weight loss in first post-pandemic show at Madison Square Garden

Billy Joel is in a new body state of mind.

Over the weekend, the "Piano Man" singer took the stage in New York City for his first post-pandemic concert at Madison Square Garden in New York City. In doing so, Billy also showed off a slimmed down version of himself, having lost 50 pounds.

Adela Loconte/Shutterstock

The singer spoke to Howard Stern last month about his weight loss, claiming it was actually unintentional.

"I had back surgery early this year and the pain afterwards was so bad I lost my appetite," he said told the famed radio host. "I embraced that, I said, 'Okay, I won't eat as much' and I ate less and less and less and less and then there was just life aggravation and that tends to, you know, impact your appetite too."

Still, although he never set out to drop the weight, Billy is thrilled with the results.

"I had gotten kind of chunky," he contended. "I was happy to lose the weight."

While the pandemic was beneficial for his waistline, the same can't be said for Billy's bottom line since he didn't perform live shows for a while. Regardless, the onstage icon revealed in that same Howard Stern chat that he paid his band despite not working for well over a year.

"I did pay them full salary for a year," he confirmed. "I have a great band, I'm so happy to have them on stage … I don't do as many gigs as I used to but … I wanted to take care of the band."

Man who allegedly punched Miles Teller officially charged

A man who punched Miles Teller in a restaurant restroom in Hawaii earlier this year has been charged in the incident.

TMZ reported that Russell Nielsen was charged with one count of third-degree assault in Maui for "intentionally, knowingly or recklessly caused bodily injury" to the actor.

Anthony Harvey/REX/Shutterstock

In May, the "Top Gun: Maverick" star was with his wife, Keleigh Sperry, at Maui's Monkeypod Kitchen when he went to the restroom. Initial reports said the man who assaulted Miles near the urinals was his wedding planner. The reports alleged the "War Dogs" star stiffed the planner out of $60,000 for services performed at Miles' 2019 wedding in Maui, hence the reason for the skirmish. However, a day later, Miles tweeted that he was jumped by two guys in the bathroom and he had "never met them before in my life."

Keleigh also claimed that assailants were unknown to Miles and denied that the assault occurred because of unpaid debts.

"Miles was jumped by 2 men we have never met after they trapped him in a bathroom," she said. "It seems these same men have done this to many people and we appreciate your support Maui. This is now a criminal investigation."

Only one man has been charged, despite the Hollywood duo implicating two men.

TMZ also claims that Miles does have a connection to Russell, as the man is apparently the husband of Miles' wedding planner.

The case is set to go to court.

Ray Liotta reveals disturbing package Frank Sinatra's daughters sent him

Frank Sinatra's daughters didn't exactly "go the mattresses," but they still had a clearcut message for Ray Liotta back in 1998  — a message that was inspired by "The Godfather."

Image Press Agency/NurPhoto/Shutterstock

Back then, Frank's daughters, Nancy and Tina, were in the midst of creating a miniseries about ol' blue eyes. At that same time, Ray was filming the HBO film "The Rat Pack."

While recalling that moment in time on a recent episode of "Jay Leno's Garage," the Emmy-winning actor said, "The daughters, they wanted me to do a miniseries when they were doing a miniseries about it and I just felt too uncomfortable."

"We were doing the movie and I got delivered a horse's head … Obviously, it wasn't a real one, but it was a horse's head. And, you know, a horse's head means you're toast," Ray 66, continued. "It turned out that his daughters sent it and said, 'Oh, you could do this one, but you couldn't do the one that we wanted you to?'"

While "The Rat Pack" went on to score three Emmy nominations, the sister's series never got made. They instead made a documentary called "Sinatra: All or Nothing at All."

According to legend, Frank had several ties to the mafia. Ray, of course, has made a career out of playing tough guys and mafia members, including his roles in "Goodfellas" and "The Many Saints of Newark."

He recently told the New York Post that he has little resemblance to his iconic characters.

"I don't go around beating people up," he said. "I've never been in a fight. I avoid it at all costs."

Social media is piling on Chris Pratt after post about wife, daughter

Chris Pratt is getting shredded online after posting a tribute to his wife and "healthy" daughter, but making no mention of his son, who has suffered serious health issues over the years.

Earlier in the week, the "Guardians of the Galaxy" actor gushed about his wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger, writing, "She's given me an amazing life, a gorgeous healthy daughter…" In an attempt at humor, he noted that Katherine's birthday is next month and he decided to pay tribute to her now in case he forgets. He also joked that his "greatest treasure" is Ken Griffey Jr rookie baseball card.

Family and others close to the couple applauded the message aimed at his wife, but a large portion of fans were turned off.

"What about your son," one person said, referring to his 9-year-old child Jack, who he shares with ex-wife Anna Faris

Another wondered, "Where does your other child fall in line after the baseball card?"

An angrier person said, "Chris Pratt has a kid with Anna Farris [sic] who suffered a cerebral hemorrhage during birth and now has slight physical disabilities because of it. But he made sure to write 'healthy daughter' here. Chris Pratt is a d***."

Taking in the whole message, another critic said, "Bro how'd you manage to make every quality about yourself. Priming her for no effort on her birthday lol."

Chelsea Lauren/Shutterstock

People threw out words such as "cringe" and "self absorbed" and "narcissistic" when thinking about the post.

Chris, to be fair, has spoken about Jack, who was born two months premature, many times over the years.

In 2014, during a March of Dimes Celebration of Babies, Chris said, "I made promises in that moment about what kind of dad I wanted to be and I just prayed that he'd live long enough that I could keep them. Our Jack went from a small, helpless little squirt to a strong, smart, happy, funny, beautiful boy who loves monster trucks and 'Daniel Tiger,' and, believe it or not, loves vegetables. Broccoli and cherry tomatoes are his favorite foods."

Kanye West calls Kim Kardashian his 'wife,' wants them 'to be together'

Kanye West is still hoping for a reconciliation with Kim Kardashian, even continuing to refer to her as his "wife."

In a newly released interview with Revolt TV's "Drink Champs," the rapper said he still wants to be with the reality TV star, and he blasted "Saturday Night Live" for "making" Kim address their breakup and impending divorce during her hosting gig last month, for which Ye helped her prep

GC Images

"'SNL' making my wife say 'I divorced him' on TV because they just wanted to get that bar off. I never even seen the papers. We're not even divorced," he insisted. "They ain't no joke to me. My kids want their parents to stay together. I want us to be together."

The "Donda" rapper also blamed the media and Kim's own team for "promoting" the idea of divorce. Kanye specifically said he wants nothing to do with several of his four children's nannies, nor does he want one of Kim's publicists at the house.

It's believed that, based on Kanye's haircut, the interview was taped last month.

Kim filed for divorce from Kanye in February after seven years of marriage. Although some blogs have hinted that the duo were headed toward a reconciliation, legal paperwork tells another story: the divorce is still forging ahead.

It seems that Kim may also be moving on, as she's been out with "SNL" comedian Pete Davidson three times within the past week — once in the Los Angeles area and twice in New York City.

"They were smiling and laughing a lot and seemed genuinely affectionate with each other," a source told Page Six after the third outing.

The Wanted's Tom Parker gives tearful update on brain tumor

The Wanted singer Tom Parker's health is improving.

One year after revealing that he's battling an inoperable brain tumor, the crooner said on Nov. 3 that everything is now "stable."

While sharing a family photo with his wife and their two children on Instagram, Tom said, "I'm sat here with tears in my eyes as i tell you. We've got my brain tumour under control."

He continued, "We had the results from my latest scan…and I'm delighted to say it is STABLE. Such a mix of emotions. We couldn't ask for any more really at this point; a year or so in to this journey. Honestly over the moon. We can sleep a little easier tonight."

The 33-year-old singer ended his emotional message by thanking friends and family for the "love and support over the last 12+ months."

In early fall 2020, the British "Glad You Came" singer was diagnosed with a grade four glioblastoma — an aggressive type of cancer that grows in the brain or spinal cord — and though doctors told him it's terminal, he began radiotherapy and chemotherapy in an effort to shrink the tumor.

"We are all absolutely devastated but we are gonna fight this all the way. We don't want your sadness, we just want love and positivity and together we will raise awareness of this terrible disease and look for all available treatment options," Tom and wife Kelsey, who at the time was pregnant with their second child, wrote on Instagram.

Three months later, he revealed his tumor had drastically reduced.

"SIGNIFICANT REDUCTION. These are the words I received today and I can't stop saying them over and over again," he wrote in January 2021 on social media. "I had an MRI scan on Tuesday and my results today were a significant reduction to the tumor and I am responding well to treatment."

Take two! Kim Kardashian, Pete Davidson spotted at dinner again

It takes two to make a thing go right!

Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson are getting more coupled up by the day. On Nov. 3, the duo reportedly had dinner together in New York City for the second time in two nights. This time, though, they were joined by others.

The reality TV star arrived at Zero Bond in the Big Apple a few minutes after Pete, TMZ reported. The night out actually marked the third time they've hung out within a week.

Kim and Pete was first linked on Oct. 29. They were photographed holding hands on a ride at Knott's Scary Farm in Buena Park, California. Although pals initially dubbed the two just friends, a source told Page Six that the mother of four is "intrigued" by Pete.

"She likes him," the source said.

Then, on Nov. 2, multiple reports indicated the "Saturday Night Live" star set up a secret dinner with the makeup mogul at Campania, one of his favorite restaurants, in his native Staten Island.

"Pete arranged a dinner on the rooftop privately," a source told Page Six. "It was just the two of them."

The duo apparently didn't have security, and the source added, "They quietly were able to sneak in and out."

Kim, who lives in Los Angeles, is back in the Big Apple not necessarily for Pete but for the WSJ. Magazine Innovator Awards, which she attended on Nov. 1.

The possible new romance comes as Kim is in the midst of divorcing Kanye West. Like Kim, Pete is also no stranger to high-profile relationships, as he's previously dated Ariana Grande, Kate Beckinsale, Margaret Qualley, Kaia Gerber and "Bridgerton" star Phoebe Dynevor.

Adele shares behind-the-scenes bloopers from 'Easy on Me' video

Filming Adele's newest music video was hardly easy!

On Nov. 4, the singer took to Instagram to share a blooper reel from the set of her "Easy On Me" music video. Although the end result was flawless and has gotten rave reviews, getting there was a process.

"It's all smoke and mirrors!," Adele captioned the Instagram post.

The blooper video begins with Adele laughing after the director yells "action." She also cannot manage to properly insert a cassette into the car's tape deck. At other times, she struggles with her wardrobe, cursing at her coat several times.

There's another moment in which papers fly into her face as an off-camera wind machine propels them wistfully in her direction .

"I don't know how long to close my eyes for because I'm driving obviously," she says during one scene in which it appears she's driving, but she's clearly not.

Since dropping on Oct. 15, "Easy On Me" has been viewed nearly 137 million times on YouTube. Additionally, the song set the Spotify record for most streams in a day.

"Easy On Me" is Adele's first new song in six years. Her much-anticipated album "30" is set to drop on Nov. 19.

Gigi Hadid meeting with lawyers over custody of daughter: Report

On the heels of her seemingly volatile split with Zayn Malik, Gigi Hadid is lawyering up, a new report says.

Late last week, multiple media outlets reported that Gigi's mom, Yolanda Hadid, was telling friends that the One Direction singer "struck" her, something he vehemently denied. However, the next day court records showed that Zayn pleaded no contest to four criminal counts of harassment because of the incident.

Riccardo Giordano/IPA/Shutterstock

Court records said he allegedly shoved Yolanda into a dresser inside his Pennsylvania home.

Sometime around the incident, Zayn and Gigi, who share 1-year-old daughter Khai, split up.

"Gigi met with her lawyers last week. She also met with new lawyers to start helping with custody issues," a source told Us Weekly on Nov. 3. "There will be conversations about custody."

The model finds the incident "distressing," but realizes that Zayn "will always have to be a part of her life."

A source told E! News, "Everyone is sad that things got so ugly and took this turn. In every family there is drama and emotions run high, but they feel Zayn crossed a line and he needs to be accountable."

As a result of his no contest pleas, Zayn was put on a 90-day probation for each count, totaling 360 days. He was also ordered to complete an anger management class and a domestic violence program. Further, he's barred from having any contact with Yolanda and the security guard who was on the property during the incident.

A judge can terminate the probation within six months.

After initial reports surfaced about the fight with Yolanda, Zayn posted a statement to Twitter.

"As you all know I am a very private person and I very much want to create a safe and private space for my daughter to grow up in. A place where private family matters aren't thrown on the world stage for all to poke and pick apart," he wrote. "In an effort to protect that space for [my daughter] I agreed to not contest claims arising from an argument I had with a family member of my partner's who entered our home while my partner was away several weeks ago."

"This was and still should be a private matter but it seems for now there is divisiveness and despite my efforts to restore us to a peaceful family environment that will allow for me to co-parent my daughter in a manner in which she deserves, this has been 'leaked' to the press," he continued. "I am hopeful though for healing for all involved with the harsh words shared and more importantly I remain vigilant to protect Khai and give her the privacy she deserves."

Afterward, Gigi issued her own statement, albeit less lengthy.

"Gigi is solely focused on the best for Khai," her rep told People magazine. "She asks for privacy during this time."

The real reason Tom Hanks turned down chance to go to space

Tom Hanks had an out-of-this-world offer, but he chose to keep his feet firmly on the ground.

While chatting with Jimmy Kimmel, the actor confirmed a longstanding rumor that he had a chance to go to space on Jeff Bezos'  Blue Origin rocket. However, the opportunity wasn't free.

Image Press Agency/NurPhoto/Shutterstock

The affable actor said he could have boarded the rocket "provided I pay."

"It costs like $28 million or something like that," he said. "And I'm doing good, Jimmy — I'm doing good — but I ain't paying $28 million. You know what, we could simulate the experience of going to space right now."

Tom then encouraged everyone in the audience to slouch down in their chairs and shake for four minutes, insinuating that he was mimicking the rocket.

"I don't need to spend 28 million bucks to do that," he said. "I can do that at home."

If space travel were free, Tom admitted he would do it "on occasion just to experience the joy, pretending I'm a billionaire."

The space story comes just a few weeks after William Shatner shot up to space aboard the Blue Origin's New Shepard capsule.

Shutterstock

At the age of 90, the "Star Trek" icon became the oldest person to go to space. After landing, the former Captain Kirk was moved to emotion while discussing the experience with Bezos, who owns the space tourism company.

"What you have given me is the most profound experience I could imagine," Shatner said. "I'm so filled with emotion about what just happened. It's extraordinary. I hope I never recover from this. I hope I maintain what I feel now. I don't want to lose it. It's so much larger than me, and life."

Lady Gaga stayed in character for 18 months while filming 'Gucci'

Lady Gaga wasn't herself for a year and a half.

For 18 months, the singer stayed in character — on and off screen — while playing Patrizia Reggiani, the ex-wife of Maurizio Gucci, in the upcoming film, "House of Gucci."

"It is three years since I started working on it and I will be fully honest and transparent: I lived as [Patrizia] for a year and a half. And I spoke with an accent for nine months of that," the Oscar winner told British Vogue for its December 2021 issue. "I never broke. I stayed with her."

Christopher Polk/Shutterstock

During that time, Gaga found it difficult to speak without an accent, as she completely embraced the character. The "Poker Face" singer openly admits that she lost touch with reality.

"It was nearly impossible for me to speak in the accent as a blonde," she said. "I instantly had to dye my hair, and I started to live in a way whereby anything that I looked at, anything that I touched, I started to take notice of where and when I could see money."

The film, which also stars Adam Driver, is the story behind the Gucci empire and the murder of Maurizio Gucci, which Patrizia was convicted of orchestrating.

"House of Gucci" was filmed primarily in Rome during COVID lockdowns.

"I had some psychological difficulty at one point towards the end of filming," Gaga said. "I was either in my hotel room, living and speaking as Reggiani, or I was on set, living and speaking as her. I remember I went out into Italy one day with a hat on to take a walk. I hadn't taken a walk in about two months and I panicked. I thought I was on a movie set."

Since filming, Patrizia has voiced her displeasure in the fact that Gaga never reached out to her. Gaga, though, admits the she didn't meet with Patrizia before taking on the role, but that was by design.

"I only felt that I could truly do this story justice if I approached it with the eye of a curious woman who was interested in possessing a journalistic spirit so that I could read between the lines of what was happening in the film's scenes," she said. "Meaning that nobody was going to tell me who Patrizia Gucci was. Not even Patrizia Gucci."

"After more than 25 years together, Kody and I have grown apart and I have made the difficult decision to leave," Christine wrote on Instagram in her public announcement. "We will continue to be a strong presence in each other's lives as we parent our beautiful children and support our wonderful family. At this time, we ask for your grace and kindness as we navigate through this stage within our family."

Christine joined Kody's plural marriage in 1994, and the duo shares six children together: Aspyn, 26, Mykelti, 25, Paedon, 23, Gwendlyn, 20, Ysabel, 18, and Truely, 11.

The split might not be a huge shocker to fans of the family's reality show. During the season 15 finale, Christine said, "I can't do marriage with Kody anymore. I don't wanna."

After Christine's announcement on Tuesday, Kody reacted on Instagram.

"Christine's decision to leave comes with a great deal of sadness," he wrote. "We enjoyed many years together and I have a large amount of respect and admiration for her. Although we are moving forward on different paths, we will always remain committed parents."

It's believed that Christine plans to move to Utah, while Kody and his partners will remain in Flagstaff, Arizona.
