Wonderwall.com is taking a look back at the stars who found love, suffered heartbreak or experienced some other major event in their love lives in early April 2022, starting with this duo… On April 4, Sean Penn and his estranged wife, Leila George, were snapped playing miniature golf together in New York City. Just five days later, they hung out together on the West Coast, where they were snapped taking their dogs to a park in Hollywood. The bicoastal hangouts sparked a fresh round of rumors about the nature of their relationship in the wake of her decision to file for divorce in October 2021 following just 14 months of marriage. Then during an interview with Hollywood Authentic that debuted online on April 9, the Oscar winner admitted that he's still "so in love" with the "Animal Kingdom" actress, who's 32 years his junior … and a year younger than his daughter, Dylan Penn. He only sees her "on a day-to-day basis now" because he "f***** up the marriage" by being "a very neglectful guy" over the course of their five-year romance, he admitted, clarifying that he never cheated. Sean went on to explain that his addiction to the news — plus his extreme interest in current events and stress over the state of the world — negatively impacted their relationship: "Beautiful, incredibly kind, imaginative, talented young women who get married to a man quite senior to them in years, they don't actually love it when they get up from their peaceful night's sleep and their new husband is on the couch, having been up since 4, watching all of the crap that's going on in the world and has decided that 10:30 in the morning is a good time to neck a double vodka tonic and an Ambien and say, 'Good morning, honey. I'm going to pass out for a few hours and get away from all this [stuff].' As it turns out, women as described, they don't love that," he said. He's now focused on being present during his time with Leila: "I don't know what's going to happen with us, but I know that this is my best friend in the world and definitely the most influential, inspiring person, outside of my own blood, that anybody could ask to have in their life. So, now, when I wash the dishes, I don't answer my phone. If I'm with my wife for a day, I don't have my phone on, even though I'm juggling a lot of things," he said, concluding by noting that he's trying to prioritize the smaller things in life.

Earlier this month, Kristin Cavallari and Tyler Cameron sparked romance rumors when they were snapped making out during a photo shoot for her Uncommon James jewelry line in Southern California. (See photos here.) But during an interview with "Entertainment Tonight" that hit the Internet on April 8, the mother of three insisted there's nothing romantic going on with the male model: "Tyler is the sweetest human being on the planet — such a great guy. I was so impressed with him. … I hired him to play my love interest in our fall campaign video. There is nothing going on. Great guy, [but] we are not dating, I promise," she said, noting that if she were dating the former star of "The Bachelorette" — who previously romanced supermodel Gigi Hadid — she "would not answer the question" about their relationship status. "Nothing is going on. He was a hired actor, OK?!" she maintained. She then acknowledged that she and Tyler had "so much fun" together: "I can't say enough good stuff about him. There is no ego whatsoever. He is just very chill, up for anything," she said. The "The Hills" alum concluded by reiterating her previous comments about being "open to dating right now" because it's "the first time in a few years" that she's been "in a good place to be dating." As for her ideal partner… "I want someone who is just really comfortable [in] their own skin who can be my rock. [Someone] who is also just really fun and doesn't take life too seriously. Someone who is successful in their own right, but I think all of those things go hand in hand. Confidence. For weeks now, there have been whispers online that "Sex/Life" co-stars Sarah Shahi and Adam Demos quietly got engaged earlier this year. On April 3, the "Person of Interest" alum added some credence to the rumors when she stepped out in Toronto with her beau while rocking what appeared to be a massive engagement ring. (See photos here.) Neither she nor Adam — who took their relationship to the next level in late 2020 — have publicly addressed the buzz claiming they're set to wed.

In the April 12 edition of her "On The JLo" newsletter, Jennifer Lopez opened up about how Ben Affleck — whom she described as her "beautiful love" — proposed for the second time nearly two decades after they called off their first engagement: He got down on one knee on a Saturday night while she was at her "favorite place on earth" … in the tub taking a bubble bath. "[I] just looked in his eyes smiling and crying at the same time trying hard to get my head around the fact that after 20 years this was happening all over again. … I was quite literally speechless, and he said, 'Is that a yes?' I said, 'YES of course that's a YES,'' she wrote, according to Page Six, adding that she was "taken totally off guard" by the proposal. "I was smiling so big and tears were coming down my face, feeling so incredibly happy and whole. It was nothing fancy at all, but it was the most romantic thing I could've ever imagined. … Just a quiet Saturday night at home, two people promising to always be there for each other. Two very lucky people. Who got a second chance at true love," she continued, noting in an accompanying video that the "totally unexpected" proposal was "the most perfect moment." She then said of her new engagement ring, which features a massive green diamond, "[Green is] my favorite color. It's also my lucky color. Obviously, it'll be my lucky color forever now. On April 13, Page Six reported that, according to a source, 81-year-old actor Al Pacino started dating Mick Jagger's ex-girlfriend, 28-year-old socialite and aspiring film producer Noor Alfallah, sometime "during the pandemic." Said the source, "She mostly dates very rich older men. … She has been with Al for some time and they get on very well. The age gap doesn't seem to be a problem, even though he is older than her father. She moves with the wealthy jet-set crowd, and she comes from a family with money." Noor — who's more than five decades younger than her current beau — also previously romanced billionaire investor and philanthropist Nicolas Berggruen, who's 60. Meanwhile, Al's last girlfriend, "Weeds" actress Meital Dohan, infamously called him "an elderly man" in early 2020 after they called it quits. "It's hard to be with a man so old, even Al Pacino," she said at the time.

On the April 11 episode of Hoda Kotb's "Making Space" podcast, Kim Kardashian said that her relationship with Pete Davidson took her by surprise: "Sometimes things happen when you just least expect it. It was the last thing that I was really planning on," she said. "And so when it did happen, we were kind of like, 'Oh my God, I wasn't planning on this. And this isn't even what I was thinking of,' and it just makes it that much sweeter and so much more fun." She wasn't in a hurry to meet someone new after she filed for divorce from Kanye West in early 2021, she insisted: "I definitely took my time," she said. On April 11, TMZ broke the news that Tish Cyrus filed to divorce her husband of nearly three decades, Billy Ray Cyrus, in Tennessee earlier this month. According to the webloid, she cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split, noted that she and the country music star haven't lived together in more than two years and asked the court to divide their marital assets equally. Later, the duo — who share five children including singers Miley Cyrus and Noah Cyrus — released a joint statement to People magazine confirming the breakup news: "It is after 30 years, five amazing children and a lifetime of memories, we have decided to go our separate ways — not with sadness, but with love in our hearts. We have grown up together, raised a family we can be so proud of, and it is now time to create our own paths. We will always be family and look forward to a continued and loving shared experience as friends and parents. We have not come to this decision lightly or quickly but with so much going on in the world, we wanted to provide some clarity and closure, so we can remain focused on what is important," they said. It's the third time the long-term couple have made moves to end their marriage: In 2010, Billy Ray filed for divorce and then petitioned to have the case dismissed after just six months. Then in 2013, Tish filed for divorce, though she and the "Achy Breaky Heart" chart-topper eventually mended their relationship with the help of couples counseling.

During an interview for the cover of the May 2022 issue of Vogue, which debuted online on April 12, Rihanna opened up about her relationship with long-term pal and collaborator A$AP Rocky, with whom she's currently expecting her first child. "I just feel like I can do any part of life by his side," she said, noting that they took their relationship to the next level during the early days of the coronavirus pandemic. "He became my family in that time," she said. "People don't get out of the friend zone very easily with me. And I certainly took a while to get over how much I know him and how much he knows me, because we also know how much trouble we can land each other in." An early indication it was worth the risk? He quickly won over her mother: "There are some guys that I've dated that she won't even look at to this day. But she was charmed by him from the jump," said the chart-topper. During an interview with The Sun that debuted online on April 8, Simon Cowell said that when he and Lauren Silverman tie the knot, the ceremony will "be a surprise" to everyone… including the bride! "I am planning it all," he said, adding that "no one knows when it's going to be." He went on to explain that otherwise, his nuptials could "get out of control" and become "too much hassle" with "one of these ghastly wedding planners and all the arguments" about the guest list. He then opened up about how he popped the question: "I'm not romantic, obviously. I didn't get down on one knee. Was I nervous? No! I mean, I didn't think she'd say no — you only get nervous if you think they're gonna go, 'No,' don't you? We'd sort of discussed rings, and I had an idea of the sort of thing she'd like," he revealed. As for why he ultimately changed his mind about tying the knot… "I've kind of felt myself engaged for a long time, if I'm really being honest with you. Lockdown and COVID was probably make or break for many relationships. We were in the same house for over a year and I thought, 'Well, actually, we get on really, really well,'" revealed the former long-term bachelor. "And for [our son] Eric, as he gets older, he will be asked more and more about his parents, and I thought it was the right thing to do for him. I also just couldn't see myself ever dating anyone again. The idea of going out on a first date now is too weird. According to People magazine, which published exclusive wedding photos, Ryan Cabrera and Alexa Bliss tied the knot at the Kempa Villa in Palm Desert, California, on April 9. The "rockstar"-themed nuptials — during which both the bride and groom wore shades of pink — were attended by 360 guests. "I'm older, and I've dated a lot of people, so I was like, 'OK, I know now after dating different people what I want, what I don't want.' So when I met her, I was like, 'This is everything I've always wanted,'" the "On the Way Down" hitmaker told People of falling in love with the WWE wrestler, adding that he told her early in their relationship that he was "going to marry her one day." Said Alexa, "Ryan brings out the best in me, and all my friends and family saw a change in me for the better. It was the first time that I could genuinely say that I loved someone more than myself. So that's when I knew I was in love with him. I was very guarded in the beginning because I'm just a guarded person in general, and he changed that about me. … This is real, and it's always going to be real. On April 8, Jack White proposed to Olivia Jean as they performed The White Stripes' "Hotel Yorba" together during a concert at the Masonic Temple in Detroit. (She opened for him earlier that night.) During the encore, the 12-time Grammy winner asked the crowd, "It's been such a great day, mind if we get married right now?" He and Olivia then exchanged vows in a ceremony officiated by Ben Swank — who co-founded Jack's record label, Third Man Records. Ben kicked off the nuptials by quoting Prince's 1984 hit "Let's Go Crazy" — "Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to get through this thing called life," he said. The following day, Jack, who's been married twice before, took to Instagram to share a photo of himself popping the question: "'Let's get married in a big cathedral by a priest,'" he wrote in the caption, quoting lyrics from "Hotel Yorba." His rep later confirmed to People magazine that "the marriage is legal and valid." On April 13, the bride took to Instagram to share a close-up look at her unique engagement ring: "Now that I've had a few days to process, here is a photo of my wedding ring. Jack proposed and married me on stage during his show in Detroit on Friday. I am still floating on a cloud. I love you so much, Jack. On April 8, "House" and "Once Upon a Time" alum Jennifer Morrison referred to her love of several years, actor Gerardo Celasco, as her husband while wishing him a happy birthday on her Instagram Story. On April 12, People magazine broke the news that comedian Ali Wong and her husband of seven years, Justin Hakuta, recently called it quits. "It's amicable and they will continue to co-parent lovingly," said a source of the duo, who share two daughters. A rep for the "American Housewife" actress later confirmed the breakup news.

According to Vogue, Victoria's Secret model Josephine Skriver married long-term love Alexander "Bohnes" DeLeon at Acre, a resort in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, on April 3. Model Jasmine Tookes served as a bridesmaid, while Nash Overstreet (Chord Overstreet's older brother) served as one of two best men. Miguel performed during a welcome party preceding the nuptials, and Zedd deejayed during the reception, which *NSYNC members Chris Kirkpatrick and Joey Fatone also attended. "We couldn't be happier to spend the rest of our lives together. This is just the beginning, but we'll remember this night and weekend for the rest of our lives," said the bride. She later captioned a slideshow of wedding photos, "I DO! @bohnes forever and always I do! I pick you! I can't believe I get to call you my husband now!" Josephine and Bohnes — who were forced to reschedule their wedding twice amid the coronavirus pandemic — got engaged in late 2018.

On April 6, Us Weekly reported that Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue model Nina Agdal is dating What Do You Meme? creator Ben Kaplan. "They're definitely together," said a source after the pair were seen "canoodling" at a Los Angeles airport earlier in the month. "They were hand-in-hand the whole time. His arm was on the small of her back. She seemed super happy," continued the source, adding that the romance — her first since she and former long-term love Jack Brinkley-Cook called it quits in late 2021 — is still "relatively new." On April 13, Ben took to his Instagram Story to share a selfie with the model at a hockey game, all but confirming the romance rumors.

On April 11, E! News published a statement from Amber Riley's rep confirming that the "Glee" alum recently ended her engagement to Desean Black. "They ask for privacy during this time," said the rep. The actress first alluded to the breakup during an appearance on a mid-March episode of the "Nice & Neat" podcast. After she referred to herself as a "single Black female," Amber said that the recent split was "amicable" and that she wishes her ex "the best." Added the powerhouse singer, "I don't have anything horrible or bad to say." In late March, Raquel Leviss was seen on what appeared to be a date with "Vanderpump Rules" co-star Peter Madrigal. Since then, there have been questions about the nature of their relationship. On the April 1 episode of Katie Maloney's "You're Gonna Love Me" podcast, Raquel confirmed that she and Peter did, in fact, go out on what she described as a "friendly date" for drinks. "It was just a fun little time. And I figured this would be a good opportunity for me just to get back out in the dating world because I haven't had an official date since the breakup. So when he asked me to go grab drinks with him, I was like, 'Hm, OK sure.' … [He was] literally the first person that asked me on a date. I said yes because why the hell not? It's good practice after five years. It's scary but it's also invigorating and exciting," said the reality star, who called off her engagement to James Kennedy in late 2021. While the DJ has since moved on, Raquel noted that she's been enjoying the single life: "I do feel like being single isn't a bad thing. On April 2 — four months after they were first publicly linked — the two women made their red carpet debut as a couple at the 33rd GLAAD Media Awards in Los Angeles. A few days later, the former "The Real Housewives of Orange County" star gushed about her girlfriend (and their hot and heavy sex life!) during an interview with The U.S. Sun: "I am definitely smitten. I have a beautiful relationship. … She feels like home to me. There's no other way to describe it," she said, adding that she and Victoria "recently moved in with each other" in Brooklyn. (Braunwyn splits her time between New York City and Newport Beach, California, where she shares a home with estranged husband Sean Burke — whom she has no plans to divorce — and their children.) Continued the mother of seven, who came out as a lesbian in late 2020, "I'm just so grateful and so thankful that I get to have this second chance at life, to fall in love with a woman. … I'm in love, it just feels good. I feel things more, I feel all the feelings and they're real." As for Sean… "Our marriage is good. It's definitely been hard — cohabitating, nesting. We've had to find our footing. "It's taken me a long time to even start dating because of work and adjusting to co-parenting. … For right now, my priority is my family and my business ahead of anything else. But I am excited to see what the future holds." Said Sean's estranged wife, Braunwyn Windham-Burke, of his new romance, "While there are always going to be bumps in the road while Sean and I navigate our modern relationship, especially with the additions of newcomers like [my girlfriend Victoria Brito] or anyone Sean is dating, I am beyond thrilled and happy that Sean is getting himself out there like I have." The former "The Real Housewives of Orange County" stars have no plans to divorce as they move on from their marriage with other partners, though the mother of seven acknowledged they'll likely reevaluate their arrangement when either decides to remarry. "I'm in a relationship with someone who knows exactly what my situation is with Sean. I know a lot of people who are divorced or getting divorced and they're miserable. Sean and I are doing great right now. It's working. Everyone understands what's happening," she said.

On April 10, Bachelor Nation's Tia Booth accepted a marriage proposal from her love of less than a year, Taylor Mock, during the Atlanta stop of the "Bachelor Live On Stage" tour. She later took to Instagram to share a slideshow featuring a selfie showing off her new engagement ring and a brief video depicting the proposal. "Never been more shocked or sure in my life. I love you so much Tay, my FIANCÉ!!!" she wrote in the caption. She added on her Instagram Story that the proposal came as a surprise, that Taylor asked for her mother's blessing to propose and that they've only been dating since late July 2021. "I AM BEYOND," she captioned a photo of herself and her beau with her new engagement ring on full display. She then captioned a video depicting the proposal and immediate aftermath, "My first words to Nick when he got down on one knee miiiight have been 'thank you' but it was the fastest 'OF COURSE' right after." "Knowing that we were already married it made it less stressful and more of a big party — everyone was excited and happy and ready to party!" said the bride of her big wedding, which was postponed multiple times amid the coronavirus pandemic. "This wedding was so special to me because it was in my home state and most of my friends and family were able to attend. I always wanted a crazy big wedding, so it was really great being able to have such an important life event at home."

According to Page Six, MSNBC anchor Nicolle Wallace married New York Times writer Michael S. Schmidt in a small ceremony attended by immediate family members on April 2. A spokesperson for the network confirmed the broadcast journalist's happy news. It's her second marriage.

On April 6, former adult film actress Bonnie Rotten (real name: Alaina Hicks) took to Instagram to announce that she's engaged to "Monster Garage" star Jesse James. "We're engaged! I knew the moment I met you I wanted to spend every single day with you. The way you love me and my [daughter] was all I ever dreamed of. I can't wait for the rest of our awesome lives together, I've never met anyone who understands me more than you. You're truly my best friend and all I want in the entire world is to make you the happiest man in the entire universe. You are perfect for me. On April 11, Vicki Gunvalson's ex-fiancé, Steve Lodge, took to Instagram to announce that he married his love of around seven months, teacher Janis Carlson, in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. "We are married," he said before kissing his fourth wife in a brief clip. "Perfect weather, spectacular view, wonderful guests, memorable ceremony, sensational food and plenty of wine. And of course my beautiful wife. All made for an incredible wedding. Thanks to all that helped make it one of a kind. We are now Mr. and Mrs. Steve Chavez Lodge," he wrote in the caption. The aspiring politician — who split from the former "The Real Housewives of Orange County" star last year — popped the question to Janis in December 2021. On April 13, Vicki tweeted of her ex's new marriage, "I wish them the best. I'm just so thrilled and RELIEVED it wasn't me at the altar with him."
