Jennifer Coolidge gained 30-40 pounds during COVID: 'I thought we were all going to die'

Jennifer Coolidge was so uncertain during COVID that she packed on 30 to 40 pounds pounds waiting for the world to end.

In fact, the actress said she was so self conscious about her weight gain that she almost didn't accept her role in "White Lotus."

Gregory Pace/Shutterstock

"I just didn't want to be on camera that fat because of my excessive eating during COVID," she told Page Six. "I thought we were all going to die, I really did, so I was just eating myself to death. Vegan pizzas, sometimes five or six in a day."

Jennifer, 60, was even concocting a story about why she couldn't star in "White Lotus," but a friend stepped in and convinced her to take the part.

"Jennifer this is all you have! What the f***?," she recalled the unnamed pal saying. "She was like, 'These opportunities don't come around, you idiot!'"

"We all need these friends," the actress explained. "A lot of actors make huge mistakes, I don't know why, we want a great moment to happen but then when it comes along we somehow talk ourselves out of it, I think that's very typical of an actor, to screw it up for themselves but I had a great friend that stopped me from doing that."

Jennifer even acknowledged that none of her costars even noticed her weight when she stepped on the set.

"I was always kind of pudgy anyway so what's another 40 pounds," she said. "It's all in our head. I'm just glad I had a good friend who talked me off the ledge and didn't blow a really cool gig. If I had watched 'White Lotus' and realized I [could have done it] I would have jumped off a bridge."

Salma Hayek promotes 'Gucci' film with thirsty, sultry snap

Guess who's thirsty!

On Nov. 29, Salma Hayek decided to use her assets to draw attention to her newest film, "House of Gucci."

Beretta/Sims/Shutterstock

In her Instagram snap, the actress sipped a drink while wearing a one-piece swimsuit in the pool. Her swim wear said "Original Gucci."

"This is not my wardrobe for 'House of Gucci' but I highly recommend it anyway," she captioned that pool-drenched and cleavage-baring photo.  She repeated the same caption in Spanish.

Naturally, fans were astounded by the image and Salma's confidence.

"This will break the internet," one person said. Another said, "LORD HAVE MERCY."

Other fans threw out words such as "sexy" or "gorgeous" or "queen."

In "House of Gucci," Salma plays Pina Auriemma, a tarot card reader who gives advice to Patrizia Reggiani, played by Lady Gaga.

The film is just the latest credit to Salma's name. Her impact on cinema has been so great over the decades that she was recently awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

While receiving the star, she spoke about immigrating from Mexico to the United States.

"If you ask yourself what gave me the courage to stay, I say it was you," she told fans during her speech, "because although they didn't know me, here in Hollywood, the studios, all the Latins that are in the United States knew who I was. They understood that I came here with dreams like they did."

Tyler Cameron reacts to claims in Hannah Brown's new book

Tyler Cameron is finally responding to Hannah Brown's claims in regard to the end of their relationship.

In Hannah's new book, "God Bless This Mess," the "Bachelorette" alum claimed that Tyler wronged her when he began dating Gigi Hadid, and she printed the last text message he sent her, which came off as coldhearted.

"Well … if you rock with me, you rock with me. If you don't, you don't," he text her.

MediaPunch/Shutterstock

The text message was brought up while Tyler appeared on "The Bellas Podcast" on Nov. 29. He responded, "I've got receipts, too."

While discussing the end of their relationship, the model said he was surprised she printed the message, especially since he didn't dish about her in his book.

"You know that whole thing — first of all, you're going to see the level of respect we have for each other. The way I talked about her in my book showed nothing but love. We'll see how she talks about me in her book," he told Nikki and Brie Bella.

For Hannah, it seems that she doesn't see things the same way. In her book, she said Tyler made her feel like his "bench girl" and "backup player."

CraSH/imageSPACE/Shutterstock

Still, Tyler chose the high road when it came to his ex.

"I hope she's happy, I hope she's successful … she's got to sell books, she's got to make headlines. Sell them books!" he said.

Hannah and Tyler met on her season of "The Bachelorette," and he was her runner up. However, Hannah's romance with Jed Wyatt, who she chose on the season finale, didn't last long, and she and Tyler appeared to rekindle their relationship. The two even quarantined together in the early days of the pandemic. Hannah, though, has said nothing romantic came from that situation and noted that the two haven't spoke since lockdown ended.

The couple's relationship also took a turn when he began dating Gigi in August 2019. The two were photographed just a few days after Tyler was seen leaving Hannah's apartment. "Tyler met up with a supermodel after getting off the phone with me," Hannah wrote in her book, but admitted that Tyler apologized for how things happened.

"It feels so good to just BE HERE !!!! I'M HERE … thanks to no doctor or conservatorship people … good God my friends … it's good to BE HERE and be PRESENT !!!!"

Britney continued to hope that there will be a "shift" in her life within three months.

In a separate post later in the day, Brit, 39, said she was fasting and "on a diet for a while."

A lot of people I've spoken to are against it … the longest I've gone is 4 days including snacks here and there … I will admit I was extremely hungry at the end but I did experience the most amazing high I've ever witnessed with no food," she said. Former 'The Talk' co-host, 42, says women over 40 weren't allowed to be sexy when she launched her career in the '90s

It's a major case of déjà vu for the women of "Queens."

Eve, Brandy, Naturi Naughton and Nadine Velazquez star on the ABC musical drama, which debuted in mid-October, as the estranged members of fictional '90s hip-hop girl group the Nasty B****** who set out to launch a comeback in their 40s. For most of the members of the star-studded cast (all but Nadine got their start in music), the material hit extremely close to home.

ABC

"I'm literally reliving my life," Naturi, who launched her career as one third of the female R&B group 3LW, told the December 2021 issue of emmy magazine, which hits newsstands on Dec. 3, in Wonderwall.com's exclusive first-look.

"I actually did 'MTV Cribs.' We had to rent a house and rent cars we drove in the driveway. I have lived this experience," she said during a break from shooting a scene in which her on-screen alter ego, Jill Da Thrill, shoots her own episode of the long-running docuseries.

"It all really resonates," she continued. "Especially back in the day, there was a lot of taking advantage of young women — deals where they don't make any money, or girls fighting, pitted against each other. It's showing a lot of things in the past we were afraid to talk about."

Gregory Pace/REX/Shutterstock

Eve, meanwhile, noted that "Queens" doesn't just rehash the past, it also shows the way the music industry has evolved over the years — especially in regards to the way female artists are treated in the biz.

"These women are not trying to recapture the past. They are moving on from where they are now, and it's important to show that," said the rapper, actress and former "The Talk" co-host.

"Age is so different than it used to be back in the day when I was coming out," she continued. "Someone [trying to be sexy] at 40? It would be like, 'Yo, what are you doing?'"

But things are different now, said the former Ruff Ryders' First Lady, who's currently expecting her first child at 42.

"They're not trying to be kids. They're the real 'grown and sexy,'" Eve told emmy of her character, Professor Sex, and her fictional bandmates.

Lester Cohen /Getty Images

According to Brandy, "Queens" reflects the way the music business wears down female artists — and how they're able to reinvigorate themselves with the help of their peers.

"It's a strength in seeing us come together and doing what we think should be done our way," the "Moesha" alum, who stars as Xplicit Lyrics, told emmy. "This industry can make you stop. I've actually stopped. A few times. I've gone away and come back. But I always come back. I can speak for the other ladies [in the cast] and say that about them, too — they go hard. And I love that. We represent overcoming."

MediaPunch/Shutterstock

"Queens" also sees its leading ladies tackling territory typically dominated by men.

"I've always wanted to rap," Brandy told emmy. "We're rapping like men, like Nas or Biggie. It's very challenging because sometimes I get the words twisted, and it's a little tiring, but I push myself until I get it. I love it."

For more from the women of "Queens," grab a copy of the December 2021 issue of emmy magazine on Dec. 3.

The response to the song and Ella's talent was overwhelming. Ella's famous father even commented, "I'm so very proud of you Ella, its amazing! Your thrilled Dad!" The "Pulp Fiction" actor added several heart emojis.

Julia Roberts' husband posts rare photo of twins on 17th birthday

Julia Roberts' husband, Danny Moder, is letting the world see their mini mes.

Rob Latour/Variety/Shutterstock

The couple is well known to keep their children out of the spotlight, but they made a rare exception on Nov. 28 to celebrate the 17th birthdays of twins Hazel Moder and Phinnaeus Moder.

"these rabble rousers… 17 today. thank you for helping me through fatherhood," Danny captioned an Instagram snap of the kids, both wearing Wonder Woman clothing.

Friends shared their disbelief that the twins are nearly legal adults. Julia and her cinematographer husband also share 14-year-old son Henry Moder.

Like Danny, the Oscar-winning actress got in her own birthday tribute, too, sharing an image of the kids, but as newborns.

"17 of the Sweetest years of life," she wrote alongside the throwback.

Julia's niece, actress Emma Roberts, commented on the adorable picture with three heart emojis.

While it's rare for the couple to publicly post images of their kids, they don't entirely shield them. In May 2019, Danny posted a family photo on Mother's Day.

Also, in July, Hazel was photographed attending a screening of "Flag Day" at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival with her dad, as he served as a cinematographer on the film.

Adam Driver reveals the coolest things he's taken from film sets

Adam Driver likes to take his work home with him – literally.

In a recent interview with BBC Radio 1's Ali Plumb, the Oscar-nominated actor opened up about all the items he took from the sets of "The Force Awakens," "The Last Jedi" and "The Rise of Skywalker," the "Star Wars" films he starred in.

David Fisher/Shutterstock

"I have lots of stuff. I for sure have a helmet. I have two helmets actually, a lightsaber," he said, noting that his keepsakes aren't just limited to a galaxy far, far away. "I have stuff from 'The Dead Don't Die.' Every movie I try to take [something.] I wear my helmets when I drive, just to confuse people."

Adam also has a suit of armor from "The Last Duel." Sometimes, though, his on-set souvenirs are more personal.

"Really, I have lots of stuff," he admitted. "I take a lot of pictures too. Sometimes I take things that are on the set, like I have a bunch of stuff from 'Annette,' 'The Last Duel.' I have my machete from 'The Dead Don't Die' that I killed zombies with. I take all sorts of stuff."

Anthony Harvey/Shutterstock

From his latest film, "House of Gucci," Adam upped his fashion game after leaving the set.

"Gucci shoes. I didn't take a belt," he said when asked what he took from the film, which stars Lady Gaga. "I thought I could pull them off, but then when you get back to reality, you're like, 'Oh, I'm not wearing these.'"

The real question: what does he do with all the things he keeps?

"I keep them in a room and I just pray to myself as an homage to all the things that I've done," he laughed.

Lisa Rinna, 58, turns back the clock in age-defying glam snap with daughter

What's in the water?

Lisa Rinna, 58, is looking decades younger in a new glammed-up Instagram snap with her 20-year-old daughter, Amelia Gray Hamlin. The photo — which the proud mama shared to promote Amelia's lip kit as part of Lisa's eponymous beauty line — was so flattering that many mistook the two women for sisters.

After Lisa posted the snap on Nov. 29, many of her fellow "Real Housewives" stars called her "gorgeous," "pretty" and "beyond." Fans tossed out words such as "sisters" and "twins."

https://www.instagram.com/p/CW3hfp0PZOI/

"STUNNNINNNNNGG!!! Hottest mom/daughter duo," wrote one fan.

Amelia, meanwhile, shared a behind-the-scenes video from the photo shoot on Instagram.

"When my mom asked me to create a color that described me.. i was sooo excited. growing up my first memories are of raiding my moms lipstick drawer and trying every single color on. i did this like it was a sport," Amelia wrote in the caption. "i loved trying on all the different colors. this project was really close to my heart."

MediaPunch/Shutterstock

"being able to create the perfect color, and have it come to light, and watch it grow has been so fun!!!!!" she continued, thanking her mom and the team behind the makeup line for "making all of our 90's greaser dreams come true!!!"

Of the color, Amelia added, "i hope you guys love it as much as i do… it's rly pretty."

Keira Knightley's whole family contracts COVID-19

COVID-19 has found its way to the "Caribbean."

In a new chat with The Telegraph's Stella magazine, Keira Knightley revealed that her entire family contracted the virus, prompting them all to quarantine.

Joel C Ryan/Invision/AP/Shutterstock

"I've got COVID and I'm feeling pretty rubbish," Keira said, noting that she's promoting her new film, "Silent Night," while quarantining.

The Oscar-nominated actress said her daughters — Edie, 6, and Delilah, 2 — and husband James Righton are all fairing better than her. James, she said, is actually asymptomatic.

"[He is] being very smug about it — he is convinced it's because he's one of those cold-water swimmers and I'm not," the "Pirates of the Caribbean" star said.

Joel C Ryan/Invision/AP/Shutterstock

Interestingly, Keira's newest film, which is set during Christmas, wasn't intended to be a a glimpse into the early days of the pandemic, but there are some similarities.

"We were filming scenes about the shops running out of food at the same time as the news was becoming full of stories that all of the toilet paper had gone. It was incredibly strange for everyone," she said. "I think it should come with a warning, because now everybody is coming to the film with a lived experience, hopefully not as horrific as this one, but it has suddenly become a lot more raw."

Keira previously spoke about trying to make the best of being in lockdown (the first time around) for the sake of her kids and her clothes.

"We have a trampoline in our garden, and we decided we were only allowed to wear dresses on it," she told Harper's Bazaar UK in June. "I put on red lipstick every day, and every bit of Chanel that I have in my cupboard, and my daughter Edie had Chanel ribbons plaited into her hair and fairy wings … I thought, 'What is the point of these lovely things sitting in the wardrobe, when it feels quite apocalyptic and scary outside?' It felt so important to be really happy for the kids!"
