Josh Duhamel details painful reason his second marriage didn't get off to a 'great start'

There's no way around it: Josh Duhamel's marriage to Audra Mari got off to a rocky start.

The actor previously acknowledged that he was in the emergency room the morning of his September wedding after an evening of partying a little too hard. He's now revealing that he was in the hospital the day after the nuptials, too.

"The next morning, after the wedding, [I] couldn't get out of bed again," the "Safe Haven" star, 49, told Kelly Clarkson on her eponymous talk show. In thinking back to his new wife's thoughts that morning, he recalled her saying, "'Oh my God. Everything is fine here. This is, like, the first day of my marriage, and I'm wheeling my husband around in a wheelchair.'"

Citing their 21-year-old age difference, Josh joked, "I'm already way older than she is. It wasn't a great start, but I was like, 'Babe, for better or worse.'"

Last month, just a few days after tying the knot, Audra, 28, told Vogue Australia that Josh actually slipped a disc in his back after "pulling some wild dance moves on the party bus."

The "Transformers" actor confirmed that his party bus antics sparked the pain.

"They have those handles that you hold on in the party bus — I tried to do this thing like a gymnast, like, straighten myself out," he said, while extending out his leg. "So, I felt fine. I got through that night, and I wake up the next morning, two hours before the wedding, and I couldn't get out of bed. I literally couldn't stand up."

Shortly after his hospital visit, Josh was standing at the altar drugged up on the anti-inflammatory medication Toradol.

"It was great, everything was great," he said. " I got through the night, danced the night away."

Josh's pain eventually subsided and he and Audra honeymooned in Thailand.

Gwen Stefani on her dyslexia: It 'probably made me who I am'

Gwen Stefani has been struggling with a dyslexia for a long time, but she didn't realize until later in life.

The No Doubt frontwoman explained that songwriting actually helped her "unlock" her creativity and added that she didn't discover her learning disability until she was a mother.

Image Press Agency/NurPhoto/Shutterstock

"Being dyslexic definitely has had challenges for me in my life and I will say the dyslexic advantage has probably made me who I am," she said at New York Women in Communications' 52nd Annual Matrix Awards. "The moment I wrote my first song – I had no idea that I could do that. It just happened – it unlocked something inside me."

The irony of Gwen's dyslexia wasn't lost on her, as she joked, "[I] went on to teach the whole world how to spell bananas," referring to her 2004 smash "Hollaback Girl."

This isn't the first time Gwen has talked about her learning disability, having told Zane Lowe on Apple Music that she passed her dyslexia to her children, whom she shares with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale.

"One thing that I've discovered through having kids is that I have dyslexia – everyone has things that happen and mine was that," she said. "And I feel like a lot of the problems that I have had or even decisions that I've made for myself stem from that, because now the children – obviously, it's all genetic – they have some of those issues."

Gwen and Gaving have made sure their kids get the right support for their situation.

"Now they get all these benefits," she sad. "They have these incredible teachers and schools and they don't have to have shame about it. They understand that their brain functions in a different way. All of our brains do, you know what I mean?"

Maren Morris pokes fun at Brittany Aldean feud with hilarious Halloween costume

Maren Morris is taking pride in being a "lunatic."

This week, the country singer made reference to her feud with Jason Aldean's wife, Brittany Aldean, while also getting in the Halloween spirit.

On Thursday, Oct. 27, Maren shared her take on a Spirit Halloween costume meme. In Maren's version, which was posted to her Instagram, she's the end result of a "Lunatic Country Music Person."

The "costume," which is "child" size, comes with a "Tambourine, inclusive fans, pickleball paddle, wig [and] beef with transphobes." The picture of the "costume" is that of Maren performing.

The post is clearly in reference to her beef with Brittany. Back in August, Jason's wife made a joke on Instagram that some felt was transphobic. Soon after, people lined up to support Brittany or rip her.

Maren's voice might have been the loudest of the critics, as she called Brittany a "scumbag human" and "insurrection Barbie."

Amid the feud, Fox News' Tucker Carlson weighed in and sided with Brittany. He then dubbed Maren a "lunatic country music person." Since then, Maren has run with the label, even creating shirts with the phrase to raise money for transgender programs.

In mid-September, Maren reported that $150,000 was raised in t-shirt sales.

Rod Stewart's son Sean hit by a truck, rushed to hospital

Rod Stewart's eldest son, Sean Stewart, is recovering from a serious car accident in which he was hit by a truck.

Sean, 42, posted a photo to his Instagram Story on Monday that showed him a neck brace, medical face mask and hospital gown.

"I got hit by a truck at a red light," he captioned the image. "Hard out here on these streets."

Page Six said Sean was "rushed to the hospital" after the accident.

On Tuesday, Oct. 25, Sean shared a photo from his bed with his dog by his side, indicating he was no longer at the hospital.

"Still in a lot of pain," he said. "Got my best friend by my side."

The pooch, he added, was his "doggy doctor."

Sean is one of Rod's eight children, and he's fairly most well known, largely due to his appearance on short-lived reality show "Sons of Hollywood" in 2017. Sean was also by his famous father's side during a New Year's Eve scuffle in Florida in 2019.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Rod told police he and his family were trying to get the children in their group access to a private event at the hotel. A security guard resisted, telling Rod and his group that they didn't have access to the area and asked them to leave. Around this time, Sean allegedly got "nose to nose" with the security guard. A skirmish eventually ensued and police said Rod then punched the security guard in his left ribcage area.

Both Rod and Sean eventually pleaded guilty to battery.

Dame Judi Dench has lost her vision, says she doesn't plan to retire from acting

Dame Judi Dench is going blind.

The beloved actress has lost the ability to read, write or see, but retirement isn't in her future, she told Louis Theroux on his upcoming BBC2 show, as reported by The Sun

Joel C Ryan/Invision/AP/REX/Shutterstock

Asked whether she'll return to a TV or movie set, the Oscar-winning actress deadpanned, "As long as I know there aren't things to fall over."

She added, "I don't want to retire. I'm not doing much at the moment because I can't see. It's bad. But I've got to teach myself a new way of learning."

What Judi lacks in vision, she makes up for with memory.

"I have a photographic memory so a person saying to me, 'This is your line' . . .  I can do that. And I have many people who can help me," she said. "I'll teach myself a way, I know I will. So long as I don't trip over doing it."

The "James Bond" actress, 87, said her lessening eyesight is affecting more than just her career.

"I went to a dinner a few weeks ago, a rather important dinner," she said. "It was so dark that I said to my partner David, who was next to me, 'Have I anything on my plate?' He said, 'Yes'. I said, 'Does it need cutting up? So he said, 'Yes' and I said, 'Would you do it?' He cut it up and handed something to me on a fork and that's the way I ate it."

The movie icon added, "I don't know if I finished it, I don't know what I did. I probably scooped it all up and over the side of the plate for all I know."

Former child star Jennette McCurdy explains why she defended her abusive mom for years

Jennette McCurdy has been candid about the happiness she felt when her "abusive" mother passed away, but she admits that she actually used to defend her mom in therapy sessions.

The "iCarly" alum told Drew Barrymore she often made excuses for how her mom, Debra McCurdy, was treating her.

Chris Pizzello/Invision/AP/Shutt

"Initially when I went to therapy, I did have my mom still on the pedestal and every time, I felt defensive immediately," she said. "Immediately I went into, 'well she did this, but it's because she's such a good mom, it's because she wanted me to be successful, it's because she wanted me to have a better [life]."

At the time, the former actress didn't realize what she was doing.

"I was so defensive, I didn't realize that I was at the time, but in retrospect, I see I was disclaiming every single thing that my mom did instead of just stating the reality or how I felt about it," she continued. "I was more concerned with how to keep my mom looking good than I was with expressing my true emotional reality."

Eventually, she figured out that Debra was "not perfect let alone abusive."

Matt Baron/Shutterstock

Last August, while promoting her book, "I'm Glad My Mom is Dead," the "Sam & Cat" star told "Good Morning America," "My mom emotionally, mentally, and physically abused me in ways that will forever impact me. She gave me breast and vaginal exams until 17 was years old… When I was 6 years old, she pushed me into a career I didn't want… She taught me an eating disorder when I was 11 years old — an eating disorder that robbed me of my joy and any amount of free-spiritedness that I had. She never told me my father was not my father."

A month later, she went into more detail on "Red Table Talk," reading a cruel letter that her late mom sent her

"'I am so disappointed in you,'" Debra, who passed away in 2013, began the email, which was also included in the book. "'You used to be my perfect little angel, but now you are nothing more than a little … s***, a floozy, all used up…"

In the letter, Debra called Jennette a "liar, conniving, evil" and an "ugly monster." She added, "You look pudgier too. It's clear you're eating your guilt.'"

"I told your brothers about you and they all said they disown you just like I do," she continued. "We want nothing to do with you. Love, Mom — or should I say Deb since I am no longer your mother?"

The letter ends, "P.S. Send money for a new fridge; ours broke.'"
