Although the Emmy winner was in a serious relationship for nearly 20 years with actress Jennifer Westfeldt, neither had intentions of marrying one another prior to their 2015 split, with Jon telling Parade in 2010, "I don't have the marriage chip, and neither of us have the greatest examples of marriage in our families. But Jen is the love of my life, and we've already been together four times longer than my parents were married." However, in 2022, Jon hinted that his feelings have changed thanks to time — and therapy. On a September 2022 episode of "The Howard Stern Show," the actor said he feels "settled" and "comfortable" with actress girlfriend Anna Osceola, to whom he was first romantically linked in 2020. "It's also been a process of working on myself, my mental health, all the stuff with my therapist. And unpacking all of that trauma and realizing that when you lose someone that's so important to you, like a mother, so early, that that creates a wound that blocks a lot of that emotional accessibility … that availability and vulnerability," explained the actor, whose mom died when he was 10. "It's only been in the last couple of years, me kind of sitting down and really thinking about all that stuff, that's made the relationship that I'm in now even more meaningful and opened up the possibility of things like being married, having kids, defining a new version of happiness, life, wellness … It sounds hokey and whatever, but it's real and it's — for want of a better word — it's what I'm working for."

Although media mogul Oprah Winfrey has been in a rock-solid relationship with businessman Stedman Graham for more than three decades, she has no plans to marry him. Her decision to remain legally single and not have children was a personal one driven by her realization that she could not give a family what they needed and be one of the most powerful women in Hollywood. In 2019, Oprah sat down with People magazine and explained her choice, saying, "I realized, whoa, I'm talking to a lot of messed-up people and they are messed up because they had mothers and fathers who were not aware of how serious that job is… I used to think about this all the time, that I was working these 17-hour days, and so were my producers, and then I go home and I have my two dogs and I have Stedman, who's letting me be who I need to be in the world. He's never demanding anything from me like, 'Where's my breakfast? Where's my dinner?' Never any of that, which I believed would have changed had we married."

Of never marrying, actress and mom of two Diane Keaton joked in a 2014 interview with People magazine, "I really wish I had bought myself a man!" The Oscar-winning star of films like "Annie Hall" later explained her decision to remain unmarried, saying, "I think I was not practical. I had some insane idea that I had to be 'in love.' Now I see what it really takes: real consideration that you're a good team together."

Acting legend Al Pacino spent much of his Hollywood career moonlighting as a notorious ladies' man, dating many high-profile women — including actress Beverly D'Angelo and acting teacher Jan Tarrant, both of whom gave birth to his children — but marriage was never on his radar. One of his famous exes, actress Diane Keaton, shared that she wishes she would have married Al but knows it wouldn't have worked out, telling People magazine, "I don't think he was really that interested. News, Oscar-winning actress Allison Janney gushed about her very hot and much younger then-boyfriend, Philip Joncas, saying they'd been together "about a year" at the time. However, when asked if there were any wedding rings in their future, Allison was quick to say "No," adding, "I don't believe in that as an institution."

TV personality Bill Maher, who hosted "Politically Incorrect" and "Real Time with Bill Maher," has never been a married man. "I've tried to have relationships, I've been in love… but I never understood how you can be with the same person just day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year, i just don't get that," Bill told pal Howard Stern in a 2019 interview.

Australian pop star Kylie Minogue has been in the spotlight since the '80s and has had her fair share of celebrity romances. She dated Australian actor Jason Donovan for five years in the late '80s, was linked to Lenny Kravitz and Jean-Claude Van Damme in the early '90s and was famously attached to Olivier Martinez from 2003 until 2007. In 2018, the year after she split from actor fiancé Joshua Sasse, she spoke to Red magazine about marriage: "I never thought I would get married. Just going through 'being engaged' seems like an experiment, because I'd never, as a girl or in all my life, had a vision of getting married," she said. "It's not something I needed or wanted. British comedian, writer, producer and actor Ricky Gervais definitely has a life partner, just not a legally binding contract saying so. The "After Life" star has been happily devoted to his college sweetheart, author Jane Fallon, since 1982. The couple decided not to have children and also not to marry. In 2014, Ricky joked with late night host David Letterman about their decision, saying, "I don't think there's any point to us getting married. We don't want any more toasters, we never want our families to meet, that'd be terrible."

Oscar-nominated eternal bachelor Owen Wilson is notoriously private about his romantic life, but despite keeping his lips sealed, we know he's dated many A-list celebrities, including Sheryl Crow and Kate Hudson. Stunning "Spider-Man" and "Avengers" actress Marisa Tomei — who won an Oscar in 1993 for her breakthrough role in the comedy "My Cousin Vinny" — isn't interested in marriage or motherhood. Back in 2009, Marisa told Manhattan Magazine, "I'm not that big a fan of marriage as an institution, and I don't know why women need to have children to be seen as complete human beings." A source close to the actress reaffirmed her desire to remain single, telling Closer Weekly, "It wasn't something she ever truly pursued… Work has been her life force."

After spending decades as one of Hollywood's most eligible bachelors, actor John Cusack has made it a point to live — and love — on his own terms. The single star of films like "Say Anything" and "Hot Tub Time Machine" — who has dated many famous women over the years, including Neve Campbell and Meg Ryan — was asked in 2009 during an interview with ELLE why he never married. His reply was simple: "Society doesn't tell me what to do."

The "I Love You, America" host — who's famously dated Jimmy Kimmel and Michael Sheen — tweeted in September that year, "Just read that I wanna get married which is hilarious b/c I will never get married. Why would I want the govt involved in my love life? Ew. It's barbaric."

"America's Got Talent" creator and judge Simon Cowell has had many significant romantic relationships in his life — he's even popped the question twice — but he's never married. In 2008, he told the Mirror, "I don't believe in marriage." But he proposed to then-girlfriend Mezhgan Hussainy in 2010, and in late 2021, he got engaged to his partner of nearly a decade, Lauren Silverman. (They welcomed son Eric in 2014.) But as of 2022, they've yet to actually tie the knot.

Dana — who's now in her 60s and has been linked to Don Henley, Treat Williams and James Woods in the past — added, "I've had proposals, but I like being single so much that somebody would have to be special to make me marry him… Marriage never seemed that important to me, which I think was part of growing up in the '70s."

Despite tabloids claiming otherwise, Oscar winner Benicio del Toro has never actually been married. His highly publicized relationship with Kimberly Stewart — singer Rod Stewart's daughter — and the birth of their daughter, Delilah, in 2011, led many to assume Benicio might settle down, but the pair split before their daughter was even born.

British actress Jacqueline Bisset has had several public romances over the decades but has opted to never marry. "I've been in seven-year relationships three times and one 14-year relationship," she told The Independent in 2014. "It's funny how it's always seven. Sometimes you get too much information when you spend time with people. You start to see things — bad habits. You start to discover them and then you have to marry bad habits and I'm not sure I can cope with them." Later, Mary found love again and even got engaged to actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan, but that eventually ended too.
