Dua Lipa and Anwar Hadid fuel romance rumors with PDA at music festival

Dua Lipa, 23, and Anwar Hadid, 20, have been spending an awful lot of time together as of late, raising suspicions they could be a hot new couple.

Though neither of them have confirmed the suspected romance, they only fueled the fire packing on some serious PDA during the British Summer Time Hyde Park music festival (pictured here) in London on Saturday, July 6.

The "One Kiss" singer was spotted cuddling with Anwar, who happens to be her close pal Gigi Hadid's brother, while they listened to a performance together in the crowd.

Giving off major couple vibes, Anwar had his arms wrapped around Dua as they laughed and swayed to the music.

Romance rumors first started to swirl when Dua showed up to the model's birthday party in Malibu last month, just after splitting from her now ex-boyfriend, Isaac Carew (pictured below with Dua at the 2019 Met Gala).

The day before the music festival, Anwar even accompanied Dua to the O2 Silver Clef Awards in London.

Anwar hasn't been linked to anyone since last summer, when he was rumored to be having a fling with Kendall Jenner (another of his sister Gigi's friends). He broke things off with his ex-girlfriend, Nicola Peltz, earlier that year.

So, in the words of Dua: "One kiss is all it takes!"

Cameron Boyce, who was suffering from a chronic medical condition, passed away after having a seizure in his sleep on July 6, 2019. The Disney Channel star was just 20 years old at the time of his tragic passing. Wonderwall.com rounded up all of the celebs who paid tribute to Cameron, starting with his "Grown Ups" co-star Adam Sandler. "Too young. Too sweet. Too funny," he wrote on Instagram. Nicki Minaj defends her impact on music, name checks Taylor Swift

Friday, July 5, marked the 12th anniversary of the debut of Nicki Minaj's first mixtape, "Playtime is Over." Since then, the New York City native has gone on to sign with the Young Money/Cash Money label, for whom she's consistently churned out hits and hit albums that helped her make her the first woman to be included on MTV's annual Hottest MC List, the first woman to snag a spot on Billboard's Hot 100 chart more than 100 times and a 10-time Grammy nominee.

Despite those and other music achievements, Nicki's press has not always been favorable, as she noted in a long post on Instagram on Friday.

"12 years ago I dropped my 1st mixtape. Wrote every single word on every single song. I was so proud of that," her post began. "Eventually the barbz were all wearing pink hair, Chinese bangs, & Barbie chains. Colorful wigs came all the way back in style. Everyone became Barbies & Dolls."

She went on to say how important other artists have been to her development, asking why discussing one's influences seems to have fallen out of favor with younger musicians.

"I always shouted out my influences in my interviews," she said in the post. "Now a days, it's become cool to pretend u weren't influenced by other artists. S/O to the ones big enough to did it: Kash, Asian, Cuban, Saweetie, Meg, Malibu, YOUNG MA, Ms. Banks, Lady Leshurr, etc. No female rapper (other than Trina) did a song w/me or congratulated me on my billboard accomplishments. I didn't mind. I never felt they were obligated to do so."

Nicki continued: "I never had a crusade by radio stations, influencers & blogs to make my song number 1 when Anaconda was #2 on the Hot 100. I never had a group of men in the studio writing my songs for me so it took a while between albums. Please stop these write ups about what I didn't do. Y'all are rlly sick & ima call y'all out one by one on Queen Radio. Most of yall doing these write ups have never fought for anything in life. You just sit on the sidelines & watch the doers do!!!!"

Before signing off, she ended on a positive note, telling her fans, "I love, cherish you, adore you, and thank you. God bless you."

The post garnered both positive and negative responses, with Nicki fans including Erykah Badu and MC Lyte posting heart Emojis and words of support as others criticized the rapper for posting too many "rants."

Nicki wasn't having the negativity, though. When a user said she should make a point of giving credit to Lil' Kim, Nicki pointed to her "early interviews," saying she always made a point of citing Kim as an influence.

"Blocked for being f-ing dumb & wanting black women to keep being afraid of speaking their truth," Nicki replied to another troll, adding, "Taylor Swift can speak but I can't?!" seemingly referencing Taylor's long post about Scooter Braun's acquisition of her music (via E! News).

Nicki's currently facing backlash for agreeing to perform at the Jeddah World Fest in Saudi Arabia, where the government's policies regarding the gay community, women and other minorities has come under fire by human rights groups.

Adele is reportedly planning a 'wild' bachelorette bash for Jennifer Lawrence

As Jennifer Lawrence and her fiancé, Cooke Maroney, begin wrapping up plans for their upcoming wedding, Jen's friend Adele is rumored to be in the planning stages of another important date on the Oscar winner's calendar — her bachelorette party.

A source tells British tab The Sun that Adele put together "a wild" time for the bride-to-be and her friends.

"It's all top secret at the moment but guests have slowly been receiving their invitations and it's looking like it will be a wild affair," the insider says (via Page Six). "Jennifer loves to party so anything could happen on the day."

While we're inclined to take reports from The Sun with a healthy-sized grain of salt, it's no secret the actress has a soft spot for a good, old-fashioned adult beverage, an affection that's gotten her into a bar fight in Budapest and into a more relaxed state of mind before she won her first Oscar — and was presumably involved when she beat Adele in that post drag show, onstage drinking contest the two participated in at a gay bar in New York City in March.

The Sun reports Kim Kardashian West and Kris Jenner will both be invited — a nod to Jennifer's reality TV junkie-dom — and that details about the bash will be kept as under wraps as possible, much like Jen and Cooke's engagement party.

"Adele wants to keep it a classy affair so any social media and filming is quietly discouraged. There will be some huge stars at the party so it's important everyone can let their hair down," says the source.

Jennifer's close friends include celebs like Emma Stone and Amy Schumer, as well as Adele, whom she met at the Oscars in 2013.

As for the wedding itself, neither the bride nor her art gallerist groom have revealed a date, but in a recent interview with Catt Sadler, Jennifer said she's already chosen a dress and location.

"I'm, like, too lazy to be neurotic," she explained when asked if she had any bridezilla tendencies. "I saw a dress I liked, I was like, 'That's the dress.' I saw a venue, I was like, 'Cool, we got the venue.'"

She and Cooke confirmed they were engaged earlier this year.

Less than two months after Kendall Jenner and Ben Simmons called it quits, the former couple bumped into each other at a Fourth of July party.

According to E! News, Kendall spent part of the holiday with her rumored new beau, Kyle Kuzma, out on the water on a yacht, where they watched dolphins playing and lounged in the sun.

Later on, the model and reality star made her way to the Bootsy Bellows popup party at Nobu in Malibu, where she caught up with pals Gigi Hadid and Bella Hadid. Other celeb guests at the bash included Shawn Mendes, David Dobrik and Machine Gun Kelly — as well as Ben.

"Kendall arrived and went straight to Gigi and Bella's table to hangout with them. She did see Ben and they did have a short run in but they didn't talk at all," a source told E! News.

Kendall and Ben reportedly broke up in May because of schedule issues that strained the relationship over the year or so that they dated.

"Ben and Kendall split recently before the Met Gala. They are still on fine terms and have been in touch," an insider told E! this past spring, adding that, "there is a chance they will get back together."

If that's on the horizon, however, it's gotta be pretty far in the distance. When Kendall appeared on ZaZa World radio recently, she gushed enough about her romantic feelings about summer's biggest holiday that it seems likely she only had eyes for Kyle on the Fourth.

"Fourth of July is arguably [one of] my top two favorite holidays … I don't know why I love it so much. It's the fireworks and the vibe. I just feel like you should be in love on Fourth of July," she said, according to E!

Either way, don't expect the 23-year-old beauty to share too much about what's going on in her love life. Unlike her sisters, Kendall's always kept personal matters to herself as much as possible.

Sophie Turner defends U.S. women's soccer star Alex Morgan after tea-sipping controversy

On Tuesday, U.S. National Women's Soccer team forward and co-captain Alex Morgan kicked a final goal to beat England, launching her team to Sunday's World Cup final. She celebrated her game-winning move by pretending to sip a cup of tea from the sideline, a quip she later said was meant to be a reference to "spilling the tea," not a dig at England and its tea culture.

But as video of the tea sipping moment spread online, it inspired memes — and criticism — galore. Critics who faulted Alex suggested she was being arrogant or exhibiting poor sportsmanship.

"My celebration was actually more about, 'That's the tea,' which is telling a story, spreading news," Alex told Reuters. "Sophie Turner does it quite often. She's one of my favorite actresses. So it wasn't a hit to England in any way," she added.

As E! News points out, Sophie frequently shares videos of herself sipping wine, making snarky commentary about everything from politics to music to her show, "Game of Thrones," and saying, "That's the tea."

And although Sophie was on her honeymoon with Joe Jonas following their second wedding in France when the Alex moment went down, it seems she caught wind of the soccer star's explanation.

On Friday, July 5, Sophie posted a response to the whole thing.

"OK, I'm on my honeymoon, I'm not really [looking] at my phone much, but I feel like this deserves a mention," she said in a clip on her Instagram Story, wine in hand. "Unfortunately, the U.K. Women's Football team lost at the World Cup, and of course, I'm incredibly sad and incredibly proud of that team. But I am so honored that we lost to such an incredible team, the U.S. Women's Football team," she continued.

"Alex Morgan, all the haters that are saying that this was disrespectful, I'm honored that you thought of me and all those people that are hating on you are probably sitting at home, Millennials drinking Kombucha," she added. "And I'm really f—ing proud of you, Alex Morgan, congratulations on your win. And that's the mother—-ing tea."

Asked about the controversy that followed her tea-sipping move, Alex noted that a male athlete who celebrated a win in similar fashion would be unlikely to generate the same backlash.

"You see men celebrating all over the world in big tournaments, grabbing their sacks or whatever it is," Alex told reporters last week. "When I look at sipping a cup of tea I'm a little taken aback and kind of — you have to laugh about it to see all the criticism."

The fiasco comes on the heels of Donald Trump's negative comments about Alex's teammate, Megan Rapinoe, for not singing the National Anthem, and her assurance that she's "not going to the f——White House" if the president invites her team after the World Cup.

Megan has said her refusal to sing was in support of Colin Kaepernick's protest. According to Yahoo Sports, she kneeled during the anthem at a 2016 game as well, making her the first white athlete and the first female athlete to do so.

Twenty years of marriage is a big deal. So David Beckham and Victoria Beckham celebrated the milestone in a big way.

The couple took to social media to reveal that they spent their anniversary on July 4 at the Palace of Versaille in France. But they weren't exactly treated like your average tourists.

"A private tour, dream come true!! Nous avons eu le privilège de vivre un moment magique au Château de Versailles. 🇫🇷 X Kisses @davidbeckham #howromantic@chateauversailles," Victoria captioned a photo of herself embracing her handsome husband at Versailles. Translated, that second part means, "We had the privilege to live a magical moment at the Château de Versailles."

David also took to social media to share a slideshow of photos from their luxe adventures at the historic property, which was the main residence for France's royal family from 1682 to the start of the French Revolution in 1789. "Most amazing visit to Le Château de Versailles on a very special day. Thank you to everyone for making it so memorable @chateauversailles One of the most beautiful places I've ever seen ♥️ 🇫🇷," David captioned his photos, which included shots of his wife in the Hall of Mirrors and outside the gardens.

In another Instagram post, Victoria showed herself and David enjoying champagne and exploring the grounds. "The most incredible visit on a very special day. Thank u to everyone who made it so memorable and all our family and friends for always supporting us as a family. Can't believe it's been 20 years! So many kisses xxx VB," the Spice Girl-turned-fashion designer captioned a series of Instagram photos showing herself and her former soccer star husband.

David also posted several pics with commentary on his Instagram Stories, including messages like, "Quote of the day: "Can we please live here?'" as well as "Our new home apparently" and "walking on cobbles skills" atop a video of Victoria strutting around the palace's courtyard.

The pair headed back to Paris afterward where they enjoyed a decadent dinner at Guy Savoy, treating themselves to a meal of caviar, oysters, fish, truffles, wine, tea made from freshly snipped mint plants and more.

A day earlier, David posted a slideshow of wedding photos as well as a recent photo of himself and Victoria with their four gorgeous kids, Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper. Why some attendees are mad about Gwyneth Paltrow's $5,700 Goop wellness summit

Gwyneth Paltrow's latest Goop wellness summit has sparked backlash from a few attendees.

Page Six reports that some of the people who signed up to attend "In Goop Health 2019" on June 29 and 30 in London were unhappy and felt let down after paying $5,700 to attend all weekend.

Among the chief complaints? Gwyneth didn't appear often enough, the weekend felt like a giant Goop sales pitch and the cost was too high for what was offered. One anonymous summit-goer was so irritated by what the New York Post's gossip column called "the aggressive Goop hype" that she branded Gwyneth "a f - - -ing extortionist" in a WhatsApp message to other attendees, Page Six claimed.

"Gwyneth acts like she's a health goddess, but actually she's a pretentious, greedy extortionist," a summit-goer told Page Six. "She had a ton of security… She was unapproachable. She did the minimum — a few fireside chats with Twiggy and Penelope Cruz, then she put on her Birkenstocks and snuck out… I was a huge fan of Gwyneth; now I feel like I have lost my faith in God."

According to the Goop site, attendees could book a "Summit Pass" for Saturday for about $1,260, then sign up a la carte for Sunday workshops and classes that started at about $38. A Goop pop-up shop, which sold items such as beauty products, books and a $55 sex toy dubbed "The Millionaire," was open during the weekend too. Gwyneth gave a tour of the Goop pop-up shop at Harvey Nichols department store on her Instagram account (daughter Apple Martin filmed it).

The top-tier ticket — a "Wellness Weekender" pass that included accommodations and access to VIP activities (like a workout class with Gwyneth and trainer Tracy Anderson and cocktails with Goop's chief content officer, Elise Loehnen) — cost $5,700. That was the option the Goop summit website offered "if you want to make a baller weekend out of it."

According to Page Six, Goop encouraged summit-goers to book hotel rooms at the Kimpton Fitzroy London at a rate of $1,300 for two nights, which included a gluten-free breakfast. Some people were irked, apparently, after learning that the hotel's weekend rates were less, though it appears that $250-a-night-rooms mentioned by Page Six were smaller and absent the same perks.

A rep for Goop disputed the claims, telling Page Six that attendees in fact enjoyed the weekend's schedule of offerings, which also included panels with Gwyneth and wellness experts; beauty, body and mind classes; a workshop with a psychotherapist teaching how to "dissolve negativity" and "replace it with an ongoing sense that there's something greater than yourself on your side"; breakfast, lunch and snacks provided by plant-based London restaurants Farmacy Kitchen and Farm Girl and more.

According to a statement from Goop, "The overwhelming response to our London Summit was incredibly positive. It should be noted that the actual value of the weekend package was over $8,000. The cost included a hotel suite (valued at $1,600) and a gift bag valued at $3,000, among other items. During the event, Gwyneth opened the day, conducted three fireside chats (almost half of the day's panels) and hosted a workout and Q&A the next day."

Katharine McPhee has a message for the celeb-obsessed shutterbugs who haven't stopped tailing her in Europe since she married David Foster in London last week. "To the pack of paps stalking me while I'm in the middle of the ocean in Europe," she tweeted on Tuesday, July 2, "Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner are just two yachts over. When "Revenge Body" returns on Sunday, July 7, the series will kick off with its host, Khloe Kardashian, talking to Kris Jenner about her own physical transformation before and after she welcomed her daughter, True Thompson. "You spent so many years getting into the best shape of your life, and then you got pregnant," Kris says in a preview clip (via ET). "How did that feel?" Khloe replies by telling her mom how much more intense the weight gain situation was for her and noting that she put on 40 lbs. while she was pregnant. "I was 203 lbs. when I delivered, which blows my mind," she says. "You think you're going to have a baby and all of it's going to come out, and then you leave the hospital and you're like, 'What is going on? Why do I still have all of this weight?'" Today, she says her "focus is True and just really immersing myself in motherhood," but she admits she does understand the "the daunting thought of, 'Gosh, now I have to go work out and where do I start?'" Khloe recently told ET she's grateful to have another season's worth of candidates willing to let her guide them through physical and personal transformations. "I feel really honored that people are trusting me with this journey, 'cause I get what it's like to be on camera and to be working out and doing all of that on the camera, but I don't think the average person realized how vulnerable, and how kind of aggressive, we are in their faces [while] filming," she said. "And when you're on this journey… you have to be really vulnerable, and it's emotional and really, really hard."

Demi Lovato shuts down would-be body shamer on Instagram

Demi Lovato refuses to be triggered by body shamers. This week, an Instagram user (whose account has since been deleted) tagged a photo of the singer leaving the gym that the user had captioned, "hey demi dm me so we can discuss a diet plan for you." Demi, who's spoken openly about her struggles with eating disorders, self harm and substance abuse, replied with a polite (and possibly facetious) "thank you," as well as an explanation about why diets can be dangerous. "I actually am choosing not to diet and fall back into unhealthy behaviors at the risk of losing my sanity or mental health," she wrote (via Us Weekly), "but thank you for the offer! Super sweet." This month marks one year since the singer suffered a near fatal overdose. Since then, she's undergone extended treatment for drug and alcohol addiction and cautiously returned to social media. Back in March, she used that platform to speak out about how tabloid stories and other public comments about her size affect her. "I am more than my weight," she wrote on her Instagram Story at the time. "Unlike the past, I'm not triggered, I'm not upset that someone wrote a headline about my 'fuller figure.' I'm angry that people think it's OK to write headlines about people's body shapes."

Scooter Braun's financial backer in Taylor Swift catalog deal had ties to Bin Laden family

New details are continuing to surface in the drama around Scooter Braun's $300 million purchase of Taylor Swift's old music catalog, a move she condemned in a long Tumblr post over the weekend. For starters, it seems Scooter — who Taylor said manipulated and bullied her for years — used The Carlyle Group to finance the purchase. The Daily Mail reports the private investment group long maintained ties to Osama Bin Laden's family. Meanwhile, Taylor's lawyer, Donald Passman has confirmed to Us Weekly that Scott Borchetta (the founder of Taylor's old label, Big Machine Records who sold her catalog to Scooter) "never gave Taylor Swift an opportunity to purchase her masters, or the label, outright with a check in the way he is now apparently doing for others." In spite of all the publicity around Taylor's reaction to the sale, a source tells E! News the singer remains confident she did the right thing in speaking out. "No matter what Scooter or any of his people say, Taylor believes he did this to hurt her," said E!'s insider. "She wants the truth about him to come out."

Exit rumors hit 'View' co-host Meghan McCain

Is Meghan McCain on her way out at "The View?" That question is making major rounds on the web this week after a report from the Daily Beast quoted sources who claimed the 34-year-old conservative co-host has been "feeling like a caged animal" at the show and is "exhausted and defeated" from the two seasons during which she's appeared on it. Insiders also tell the outlet Meghan feels increasingly isolated because of the negative attention she's received since she started working at "The View." "It's getting to the point where it's not worth the emotional toll every week," one of Meghan's friends said, adding, "If she doesn't stay at The View, she will find other work." Hilary Estey McLoughlin, the senior executive producer for "The View," told The Daily Beast, "We don't want people to attack Meghan. We're happy to have Meghan there." She went on to say she believes Meghan, "wants to be on the show" and "realizes it's a very good platform for her and we love having her there." If Meghan is indeed feeling drained, Hilary added, she believes it's only "because she's so passionate about what she's talking about, and she feels very strongly that she's carrying this mantle for the conservative perspective, and what she wants to talk about is so important to her." ABC has said no one is expected to leave the show.

Priyanka Chopra: Meghan Markle has found her 'calling' as a royal

Was Meghan Markle destined to become a duchess? Her friend, Priyanka Chopra seems to think so. "Megs… she was always meant for big things," Priyanka says in Elle UK's latest cover story. "To be a change and be an important voice in doing that. It's amazing that she found that calling and has the platform to be able to do it." According to ET, Priyanka and Meghan met in 2016 — not long before Meghan met Prince Harry, whom she married last May. Almost exactly one year later, on May 6, they welcomed Archie Mountbatten Windsor, their first child together. "By the time this [story] comes out, she will have a baby — it's so amazing how lives change," Priyanka marvels in Elle. "I'm a big believer in taking charge of your life, but there's got to be something bigger that puts us into the circumstances that we are put in," the actress adds. "Destiny has a weird way of helping you to find your calling."

Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan are keeping Archie's godparents' names private

In other Royal Archie news, Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry announced this week via Buckingham Palace that they won't share the names of their 2-month-old son's godparents. "Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor will be christened in a small private ceremony by the Archbishop of Canterbury in the Private Chapel at Windsor Castle on Saturday 6th July," the palace said in a statement, according to JustJared. "The Duke and Duchess of Sussex look forward to sharing some images taken on the day by photographer Chris Allerton. The godparents, in keeping with their wishes, will remain private." The move marks another departure from royal tradition for the couple, whose nieces and nephews, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, all had their godparents' names announced around the time of their christenings.

Patti LaBelle gets a street named in her honor in Philadelphia

From now on, Patti LaBelle will always be home, in a way. On Tuesday, July 2, the Philadelphia native was honored by having a stretch of Broad Street between Locust and Spruce Streets in Center City renamed "Patti LaBelle Way" as a tribute to the soul singer. Speaking to the crowd that gathered for the renaming ceremony, Patti said, "I was a shy little girl from West Philly. To go from shy Patti to Patti LaBelle Way is incredible," according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. After the audience cheered, she reportedly said she was a bit speechless before offering a glimpse at how she looks at the world. "My way of life is, lift people and not make them feel like a burden," she said. "I want to thank all the people that have begged for this street. If you woke up, never say you didn't do anything. Work that day, honey," she continued. Urged by the crowd to sing, she sang the chorus of 1983's "Love, Need and Want You," for and with the group of hundreds. "I'm so proud of Philadelphia," she said. "I'll sing for free for you any day."

Since that late April photo purge, the "Vanderpump Rules" star has been back to posting images of her beau, including a recent shot of them at Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright's Kentucky wedding.

Rihanna has emotional reunion with former teacher

Rihanna was overcome with emotion this week after reuniting with her former childhood physical education teacher, a man she called her "mentor."

The Jamaica Observer posted a video of the pop star embracing Roddy Estwick, her teacher at Combermere School in Barbados. Rihanna wears sunglasses in the viral video, but she appeared to be moved to tears when hugging Roddy, who is now an assistant coach for the West Indies Cricket team, which is competing at the Cricket World Cup in England.

"I love this man," Rihanna told Barbados Today. "I came here to see the match and was cheering West Indies to a victory. They played great but we just didn't make it. I just wanted to let everyone know what he meant to me in my development and what he did for us back at school in Barbados."

On her Instagram story, RiRi called Estwick, "my mentor, my champ."

Roddy later spoke about his famous former student in a Twitter video with the International Cricket Council.

Kim Kardashian West wins $2.7M from knockoff clothing site

Kim Kardashian West was awarded $2.7 million and another $60,000 in attorney's fees after a judge ruled in her favor against a clothing company that had been using her likeness to sell fashion.

The reality TV star sued the company, Missguided, in February, claiming it had used images of her from high-profile events several times to sell knockoff fashion. The judge agreed, pointing to Instagram posts.

"Missguided has repeatedly used Kardashian's name and likeness without permission on its social media platforms to promote the sale of its clothing," the judge said, according to TMZ.

Missguided's website, the court noted, has pages dedicated to selling knock off dresses inspired by Kim. However, the real issue is that the company is using photos of Kim, insinuating that she's affiliated with the brand, which she's not.

The offending brand didn't put up much of a fight — or any fight at all — as it never responded to Kim's lawsuit. Because of that Kim, TMZ said Kim "basically won by forfeit."

Kim will never have to worry about Missguided again, as the court permanently blocked the clothing company from essentially ever mentioning Kim's name.

The alleged reason Olivia Munn canceled her 'Today' appearance

Olivia Munn allegedly canceled her "Today" show interview at the last minute because she didn't want to potentially face questions on live TV about several scandals.

Page Six said the actress was set to appear last week on the morning show after another guest pulled out. She and her team requested that she wouldn't be asked about anything controversial, but NBC officials said they wouldn't guarantee that. Olivia then canceled.

What exactly Olivia wanted to avoid isn't known, but she's been be directly involved or in the peripheral of several controversies of late.

Last month, the dog-walking app that she's invested in, Wag, was under the microscope after a New York couple accused one of the dog walkers of swiping their beloved pooch. The dog was later found. Earlier this week, a lawsuit against Wag claimed a dog was killed while in the care of one of the app's dog walkers.

In April, she wrote an essay slamming several fashion bloggers not fond of one of her red carpet looks, but Olivia's essay largely fell on deaf ears.

It's been 30 years since "Lethal Weapon 2" opened in theaters on July 7, 1989. In honor of the Mel Gibson- and Danny Glover-led action film's big anniversary, Wonderwall.com is taking a look back at some of the all-time greatest movie sequels, starting with the second installment in this thrilling cop franchise. Mel first teamed up with Danny in 1987's "Lethal Weapon." Two years later, they got together again for the creatively titled "Lethal Weapon 2" — which wasn't necessarily better than its predecessor but certainly delivered on the things that made the original a success: explosive action, lots of laughs and great chemistry between the two leads. Clearly, things went well enough to warrant two more installments in the four-film franchise, which also spawned a TV series. Now keep reading for more of the best movie sequels…

"Kill Bill: Volume 2" actually scored higher with audiences on Rotten Tomatoes than its predecessor. Where 2003's "Kill Bill: Volume 1" kicked off with an explosion of violence that didn't slow until the end credits rolled, "Volume 2" was slower and more heartfelt, elevating the previous chapter in the saga by providing the exposition and character development needed to flesh out the story — while also dishing up a healthy serving of action, of course. Uma Thurman — who stars as a retired assassin with a vendetta against her former mentor and lover, the titular Bill — earned separate Golden Globe nominations for her work in Quentin Tarantino-directed movie.

"The Godfather: Part II" debuted in 1974, two years after its Oscar-winning predecessor first opened in theaters. Like "The Godfather," "Part II" went on to win the Academy Award for best picture and best adapted screenplay. Where Marlon Brando won the Oscar for best lead actor for his work as mob boss Don Vito Corleone in "The Godfather," Robert De Niro took home the award for best supporting actor for his performance as a younger version of the same character in "Part II," which chronicles both Vito's rise in organized crime and that of his son, Michael Corleone (Al Pacino), in two different timelines. The second installment in the trilogy about the Corleone crime family also doubled its predecessor's Oscar count, claiming awards for directing, art direction and original score.

Ask any diehard "Star Wars" fan and you'll likely hear the same thing: The best installment in the franchise is "Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back," which landed in theaters in 1980, three years after "Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope" first introduced Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Darth Vader, Princess Leia, et al. With its epic scale, world building, themes of identity and heightened emotional stakes, the second film in the original trilogy is also the highest ranked live-action installment in the expansive "Star Wars" franchise on Rotten Tomatoes.

It's often cited as the best superhero movie ever: 2008's "The Dark Knight." The direct sequel to 2005's "Batman Begins" scored a fresher rating with critics on Rotten Tomatoes by a whole 10 percent. Christian Bale returned to the role of the Caped Crusader in the crime-drama, but the true star of the show is Heath Ledger, who won a posthumous Oscar for his performance as The Joker. "The Dark Knight" also took home the Academy Award for best sound editing and earned six more nominations.

The second installment in the "The Lord of the Rings" franchise, 2002's "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers," may not have won as many Oscars as its predecessor — 2001's "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring" — or the film that came after it — 2003's "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King," which is tied for the record for the most Academy Awards won by a film (11) with "Titanic" and "Ben-Hur." But it scored the highest rating with critics on Rotten Tomatoes (95 percent fresh) — and for good reason! The Battle of Helm's Deep is considered one of the greatest onscreen battles in cinema history.

A decade after the original "Star Trek" series came to an end, the crew of the USS Enterprise arrived on the big screen with 1979's poorly received "Star Trek: The Motion Picture." (It scored a 42 percent rotten rating with critics on Rotten Tomatoes.) They gave it another go in 1982 with "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan," which turned out to be a major hit with critics and audiences alike.

In 2017, Denis Villeneuve delivered "Blade Runner 2049," the stylish and heart-wrenching sequel to 1982's "Blade Runner." Though the second installment in the series based on Philip K. Dick's book "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" fared slightly worse with critics than its predecessor, a cult classic that's earned a legion of devoted fans over the years, "2049" fared extremely well with Academy voters, earning five Oscar nominations and ultimately claiming two awards: best cinematography and best visual effects. In comparison, the original earned just two nominations: best art direction and best effects. Both films center around police officers tasked with hunting down and retiring "replicants" — genetically engineered humanoid robots.

It took 14 long years for Disney to deliver "Incredibles 2," the follow-up to 2004's "The Incredibles," but the animated sequel was well worth the wait! Only two other movies ("Avengers: Infinity War" and "Black Panther") made more money at the global box office than the family-friendly cartoon, which was also a hit with critics and earned an Oscar nomination for best animated feature film.

The 1984 sci-fi film "The Terminator" left some pretty big shoes to fill. (It has a 100 percent fresh rating with critics on Rotten Tomatoes.) Fortunately, 1991's "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" was up to the task. The James Cameron-directed sequel, in which Arnold Schwarzenegger's titular robot switches teams to fight for the good guys, won four Oscars and earned two more nominations.

The "X-Men" franchise kicked off in 2000. Three years later, the well-reviewed sequel "X2" arrived in theaters. It was considered the highlight in the franchise for nearly a decade — until the 2011 prequel "X-Men: First Class" landed.

The slow-paced but incredibly intense Ridley Scott-directed sci-fi film "Alien" won raves (and an Oscar for visual effects) when it debuted in 1979. Seven years later, Sigourney Weaver returned to the role of Ellen Ripley in the James Cameron-directed sequel "Aliens," which won two Oscars and earned five more Academy Award nominations. The 1986 sequel, which felt more like an action flick than a thriller, scored even better with critics than its predecessor, earning a 99 percent fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Miraculously, 2014's "22 Jump Street" is just as laugh-out-loud funny as its predecessor, 2012's "21 Jump Street" — a rarity when it comes to comedies! For their second stint as trouble-prone undercover police officers, Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum were joined by an all-star ensemble of hilarious individuals, most notably scene-stealing "Workaholics" actress Jillian Bell.

The 1995 romantic drama "Before Sunrise" — in which Julie Delpy and Ethan Hawke star as a French woman and an American tourist who bond during a single night while exploring Vienna together — is beloved by critics and audiences alike. (It even scored a 100 percent fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes!) So who could've guessed that a sequel could possibly live up to the original? Somehow, 2004's "Before Sunset," which is set nearly a decade later, did just that, picking up an Oscar nomination for best adapted screenplay in the process.

Though it was set within the world of male exotic dancing, 2012's "Magic Mike" was actually kind of a bummer. The Steven Soderbergh-directed dramedy featured plenty of impressive dance numbers — but also a buzzkill central storyline about drug addiction and broken dreams. Thank goodness the sequel, "Magic Mike XXL," took everything we liked about the original (Channing Tatum, Joe Manganiello and more hot men dancing) and turned it into a super-fun road-trip movie. While it's not technically a great film, we love it all the same!

Jennifer Lawrence's Katniss Everdeen and Josh Hutcherson's Peeta Mellark arrived on the big screen in 2012's "The Hunger Games." The following year, they returned in "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" — by far the best installment in the four-part film franchise. Critics and audiences agreed: The first sequel is the highest rated on Rotten Tomatoes thanks to its fast pace and the fact that it's not as devastatingly dark as the next two chapters in the series.

Two years after "The Addams Family" got its first big-screen adaptation, the 1993 sequel "Addams Family Values" opened in theaters. Though it failed to perform quite as well at the box office as its predecessor, "Family Values" was a huge hit with the critics and has become a bit of a cult classic over the years thanks to its hysterical juxtaposing of the macabre with the overly cheerful. For example, We'll always love watching Christina Ricci's Wednesday Addams stage a coup while portraying Pocahontas in a Thanksgiving play at camp.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has spun a complicated web of interconnected storylines since "Iron Man" debuted in 2008. But of the films with direct sequels, there's only one that's been trumped by what came after: 2011's "Captain America: The First Avenger" pales in comparison to 2014's "Captain America: The Winter Soldier." (The other MCU direct sequels — "Ant-Man and the Wasp," "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," "Thor: The Dark World" and "Iron Man 2" — are less beloved than their predecessors, while in some cases, the third installment is actually the most popular — see "Thor: Ragnarok.")

The 2008 found-footage monster movie "Cloverfield" was a huge hit at the box office — even if it wasn't necessarily a great film. Eight years later, "10 Cloverfield Lane" opened in theaters. In the 2016 film, which didn't at first appear to have a connection to its predecessor, John Goodman portrays a doomsday prepper holding a young woman (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) captive — allegedly for her own protection. The second installment in the "Cloverfield" franchise — a tense, slow-burning mystery-thriller — earned a 90 percent fresh rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes.

Did you know that "Hellboy II: The Golden Army" — the 2008 sequel to 2004's "Hellboy" — is an Oscar-nominated film? That's right! The supernatural-superhero movie, which is based on a comic book, earned an Academy Award nomination for best achievement in makeup. The ridiculously underrated Guillermo del Toro-directed action film, in which Ron Perlman stars as the titular half-demon hero, was also a hit with critics, earning an 86 percent fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

After surprise wedding, Miranda Lambert jokes she'll never get time off again

As Miranda Lambert prepares to go back on the road with her Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars Tour, she's embracing everything about the final bits of downtime she has in what turned out to be a nearly year-long hiatus from music. "They're not going to let me have eight months off ever again because I get married and do weird s—," she quipped in an interview with Chicago radio station US99 over the weekend, according to People. She was referring to her surprise marriage to 28-year-old NYPD officer Brendan McLoughlin, who has an 8-month-old son from his previous relationship and was reportedly a fan of Miranda's music when they met in November. Calling her time off "the longest break I've ever had in 17 years," the singer went on to say she and Brandon now live in New York City and Nashville, where she has a farm. Speaking to "Extra" last month, she said the time split gives her and Brandon "the best of both worlds:" "We spend time in New York, we get to see our adorable nugget, then we get to come back to the farm and have the quiet life. I'm enjoying the balance," she mused. "I'm loving that whole phase, and I've raised a million dogs, so I feel like I've got that part of my womanly/motherly thing is full, so this is a whole new journey," she added in the Extra interview. "My stepson is amazing. … [Brendan's] a great guy and, bless his heart, he didn't have any dogs or any animals at all when he came into this relationship, so he inherited a whole barn full. I was like, 'Hey, I got the dogs, you got the kid, we can mix and mingle.'" Miranda took the stage for the first time in almost a year when she performed at the Country LakeShake festival on June 22 in Chicago.

Khloe Kardashian says True takes more after her than Tristan Thompson

There's still some lingering confusion around Khloe Kardashian's relationship with Tristan Thompson since their split. One thing Khloe's crystal clear on, though, is that her 1-year-old takes after her in the personality department. "She dresses way better than I do and she looks just like her dad, but she acts I think just like me," Khloe recently told Us Weekly. "She's crazy, basically," she joked. "She's just silly and she's not shy. How I was as a kid is very much how True is." Khloe, who broke up with Tristan earlier this year after his alleged hookup with Kylie Jenner's former best friend, Jordyn Woods, has acknowledged Tristan's a "good dad" to True and that their commitment will always be about co-parenting. "My sweet and special baby True will NEVER be put in the middle of him and I," Khloe tweeted back in March. "I can promise that."

Karlie Kloss says she left Victoria's Secret because of her feminist ideals

When Karlie Kloss said "goodbye" to her lucrative Victoria's Secret contract, the company said it was because she had too many other commitments to maintain. Turns out there was more to her decision. At the time, Karlie, now 26, was studying feminist theory at New York University's Gallatin School. And as she explains in the August issue of British Vogue, she was in a self-reflective point in her life at the time, having "decided to fully embrace Judaism" while dating her now-husband, Josh Kushner. "The reason I decided to stop working with Victoria's Secret was I didn't feel it was an image that was truly reflective of who I am and the kind of message I want to send to young women around the world about what it means to be beautiful," she said. "I think that was a pivotal moment in me stepping into my power as a feminist, being able to make my own choices and my own narrative, whether through the companies I choose to work with, or through the image I put out to the world." That image is currently colored in part by her marriage, which put Karlie, a self-professed "fervent Democrat," in the controversial position of counting Donald Trump as an in-law. "It's been hard," she says of her new, conservative family ties, "But I choose to focus on the values that I share with my husband, and those are the same liberal values that I was raised with and that have guided me throughout my life." Asked what lesson she'd like other women to take from her experience so far, Karlie points to the development of her ability to know what she wants, what she doesn't want, and how to speak up for those things. "Looking back at my late teens and early twenties, I think I was fearful that I would lose a job or lose my position if I said I didn't want to do something," she explains. "But I did not lose out on jobs. If anything, the more I exercised the power of my voice, the more I earned respect from my peers. And I earned more respect for myself. Only now do I have the confidence to stand tall – all 6ft 2in of me – and know the power of my voice."

Pop stars are speaking out for and against Taylor Swift amid Scooter Braun drama, but where's Ed Sheeran?

Part of the still unspooling drama between Taylor Swift and Scooter Braun since it was announced he bought her old music catalog has become who's speaking out on behalf of Taylor and, more tellingly, who's not. Taylor took issue with the sale in a long Tumblr post in which she pointed to the years of "bullying" she endured because of the manager, whose clients include Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande. According to BuzzFeed, Scooter's team has told its clients to keep their lips zipped on the sale. Artists who have already come to Scooter's defense include Sia, who called him "a good, kind man" and encouraged him to "keep going" in spite of the backlash, as well as Demi Lovato. Halsey, meanwhile, was among those who have spoken out in defense of Taylor. Notably quiet is Ed Sheeran, Taylor's longtime close pal and a guy who, as fans have pointed out, has benefited tremendously from Taylor's efforts to promote his music and generally help out his career. "I've been speaking directly to her, like I always do," Ed replied to one Instagram user who slammed him for saying nothing on the matter. In her Tumblr post, Taylor her issue with the sale this way: "This is my worst case scenario. This is what happens when you sign a deal at fifteen to someone for whom the term 'loyalty' is clearly just a contractual concept. And when that man says 'Music has value', he means its value is beholden to men who had no part in creating it." She continued: "When I left my masters in Scott's hands, I made peace with the fact that eventually he would sell them. Never in my worst nightmares did I imagine the buyer would be Scooter. Any time Scott Borchetta has heard the words 'Scooter Braun' escape my lips, it was when I was either crying or trying not to. He knew what he was doing; they both did. Controlling a woman who didn't want to be associated with them. In perpetuity. That means forever." She added, "Thankfully, I am now signed to a label that believes I should own anything I create," then told young fans to remember, "you deserve to own the art you create."

Kylie Jenner reportedly refused to make eye contact or shake hands at Bazaar photo shoot

Is Kylie Jenner veering into diva territory? According to the Daily Mail, the Forbes-deemed "self-made billionaire" wasn't exactly the picture of warmth and courtesy when she showed up for to shoot the cover for the July issue of Harper's Bazaar Arabia with her daughter, Stormi Webster, and mom, Kris Jenner. While Kris apparently arrived at the photo shoot on time then proceeded "to walk around the set, greeting everyone and introducing herself," Kylie reportedly showed up in her silver Lamborghini Urus an hour past the call time. Once on set, she went "straight to hair and makeup," dispensing with the polite hellos her mom had offered in favor of "no handshakes, no eye contact," according to the Mail, which cites what's presumably the print version of the cover feature. (The web version, by contrast, casts both Kylie and Kris is relatively glowing terms as it explores the mother-daughter team's relationship and how that's changed since Kylie, 21, became a mom herself.) The Mail reports Kylie did eventually appear interested in the shoot, but not before Kris found herself explaining Kylie's initial cold-shoulder attitude to the production staff by saying, "I've always just been here to be a support system and to be able to guide her along a path business-wise, but she is one million percent the creative." Later, Kylie reflected on her relationship with Kris, explaining how different her approach to the world became once she and Travis Scott welcomed their little girl. "When I became a mother, my perspective on life completely changed, and so did how I look at my own mom and appreciate all the things that she's done for me," Kylie said. "Now I can understand the way that she feels about me, the way that she loves me, and how strong her love is for all her kids, because of how obsessed I am with Stormi."

Why Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan won't hire a live-in staff

As parents to 1-year-old Archie, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan continue to challenge the expected norms of royal life. The latest unexpected tidbit comes courtesy of Us Weekly, which quotes a "royal insider" as saying the couple "made the decision to have no live-in staff at Frogmore Cottage," where they now live. The idea is reportedly to tone down the pomp and circumstance Archie will grow up around, giving him the chance to have some semblance of normalcy in his childhood. "So while they do have a housekeeper and nanny on weekdays," the source continues, "evenings and weekends are for themselves. It's all part of wanting the most normal family environment for Archie." That said, they do plan to bring a nanny when they visit Africa in October as part of their first official tour as a family of three.

Brody Jenner doesn't 'expect too much' of his relationship with Caitlyn Jenner

Brody Jenner, 35, was still a toddler when his father, then Bruce Jenner, split from his mom, Linda Thompson. Within a few years of their split, Brody's dad settled down with Kris Jenner and, as Brody recalled on the Monday, July 1, edition of "The Hills: New Beginnings," began to take a more peripheral role in Brody's life. "I didn't really grow up with my dad. When I was really little, we got to spend a little bit of time. But when he started the family with the Kardashian family and all that, I didn't really see much of him," Brody said on the show (via Page Six). They subsequently got closer, Brody continued, but Bruce's transition to Caitlyn complicated things. "I was just getting to know Bruce, and then Bruce became Caitlyn," Brody said. "Caitlyn is a totally different person than Bruce. It's her true self, but Bruce was always holding a lot back and being somebody totally different." Brody, who added that today he doesn't "expect too much from" Caitlyn, married Kaitlynn Carter last year. Caitlyn was not at the wedding. Last week, Brody was heavily criticized online for using the wrong pronoun in reference to Caitlyn.

Kevin Jonas shares a sweet anniversary message for Danielle Jonas

It's been a decade since a 21-year-old Kevin Jonas took the plunge and proposed to Danielle Jonas. Now, fresh off his trip to France to see his brother, Joe Jonas, say "I do" to Sophie Turner, Kevin's turning his attention to his own marriage. "10 years ago I asked @daniellejonas to spend the rest of life with me," Kevin posted on Instagram on Tuesday, July 2. "I am so lucky to have found my best friend early and to spend this life with you. I love you so much! Thank you for saying yes!" The accompanying photo, a blurry image seemingly taken from a security camera, showed what looks like Kevin on one knee before Danielle, which fans quickly went crazy for. "Aww, Congrats on 10 years! I still remember reading the news on your myspace page!" wrote one commenter (via Us Weekly). Another chimed in: "Oh my god. The hair. The blurry photo. The tux. It's all so perfect." Danielle's "yes" led to a December 2009 wedding at Long Island, New York's Oheka Castle. The happy couple went on to have two daughters, Alena, 5, and Valentina, 2.

Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul tease 'Breaking Bad' fans with another movie tease

"Even sooner." That seems to be when "Breaking Bad" fans can get their feature film-length Walter White/Jesse Pinkman fix. On Tuesday, July 2, both Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul shared photos of themselves, seemingly on the set of the forthcoming "Breaking Bad" movie, with those vague words as the caption. Little information about the film has been announced other than rumors Aaron would return to play Jesse. Bryan, on the other hand, has only said he'd love to take on Walter's character again. Last month, however, the pair both captioned a photo of two mules with the word, "soon." Fans have since taken that as confirmation both stars of the original show will appear in the film, according to JustJared.

Lady Gaga, Adele, more musicians invited to join the Motion Picture Academy

On the heels of her Best Original Song Oscar win for "Shallow" from "A Star Is Born," Lady Gaga has been invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Page Six reports the Mother Monster joins Adele, who won in the same category for "Skyfall," and Annie Lennox, who snagged Oscar gold for "Into the West" from "The Return of the King," the final "Lord of the Rings" movie. Gaga's "Shallow" co-writers Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt were also on the new list of Academy invitees.

You know Donald Glover from "Community," "Atlanta" and, of course, his alter-ego rap moniker, Childish Gambino. He's won two Emmy awards, two Golden Globes and five Grammys.

Beyonce stars as Nala, Simba's childhood friend.

You know Beyonce from being, well, Beyonce. She's a 23-time Grammy winner and she's the most nominated woman in Grammy history.

Seth Rogen stars as Pumbaa the warthog, Billy Eichner stars as Timon the meerkat and John Oliver stars as Zazu the red-billed hornbill bird who serves as King Mufasa's assistant.

Seth Rogen has starred in a slew of films, including "Neighbors," "Long Shot" and "Knocked Up." He's one of the most bankable stars in Hollywood.

If you hang out on the street, you may have been suddenly approached by Billy Eichner. Billy is known for his "Billy On The Street" show in which does hilarious man-on-the-street style interviews. After the "Lion King" promotional photo was released of him, Seth Rogen and John Oliver, Billy tweeted, "Name a more iconic sextet. I'll wait."

John Oliver's first big break came via "The Daily Show," but he has carved out his own niche via his Emmy-winning comedy show "Last Week Tonight" on HBO.

Alfre Woodard stars as Sarabi, Simba's mother.

Alfre Woodard's career began in the late '70s, but she's primarily known for roles in "Star Trek: First Contact," "12 Years a Slave" and "Captain America: Civil War." She's a four-time Emmy winner, a Golden Globe winner and she was nominated for an Oscar in 1983 for "Cross Creek."

Chiwetel Ejiofor stars as Scar, Mufasa's brother and Simba's uncle.

Chiwetel Ejofor is known for his role in "12 Years A Slave," which earned him Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations. He also had a notable role in 2015's "The Martian."

Keegan-Michael Key, Florence Kasumba and Eric Andre star as Scar's henchmen: hyenas Kamari, Shenzi and Azizi.

Florence Kasumba has become a ubiquitous star in the Marvel and DC universes, starring in "Avengers: Infinity War," "Black Panther," "Captain America: Civil War" and "Wonder Woman."

Keegan-Michael Key is a creator of the Emmy-winning sketch show "Key and Peele." The funnyman also starred on "MADtv" for six years. He's become a Hollywood staple, starring in "Keanu," "Tomorrowland" and "Let's Be Cops."

Eric Andre is the writer of the "The Eric Andre" show, which aired on The Cartoon Network for four seasons. He also starred in the TV series "Man Seeking Woman" and "Disenchantment."

JD McCrary stars as young Simba, while Shahadi Wright Joseph stars as young Nala.

JD McCrary, 11, starred as Kenny Payne on Tyler Perry-created show "The Paynes" on The Oprah Winfrey Network. "The Lion King" will be his biggest role to date.

"The Lion King" will be Shahadi Wright Joseph's second musical. The 14-year-old previously played in the TV movie "Hairspray Live!." She also starred in Jordan Peele's 2019 horror film "Us."

Gloria Vanderbilt's will leaves bulk of estate to son Anderson Cooper: Details

Two weeks after famed heiress, fashion designer and author Gloria Vanderbilt died at 95 just days after receiving an advanced stomach cancer diagnosis, details of her will have emerged.

Page Six reports that the will — which was filed in Manhattan surrogate court on July 1 — dictates that the bulk of Gloria's estate will go to her youngest son, CNN anchor Anderson Cooper, whose father was Gloria's fourth husband, author Wyatt Cooper. (The couple's other son, Carter Vanderbilt Cooper, died by suicide in 1988.)

Gloria's eldest son, Leopold Stanislaus "Stan" Stokowski — whose father was her second husband, conductor Leopold Stokowski — was bequeathed her Midtown Manhattan co-op apartment.

Gloria's estranged middle son, Chris Stokowski, was left nothing, the New York Post's gossip column reports.

Five years ago, Anderson said he was not expecting a large inheritance even though his mother was worth a reported $200 million at the time. (Gloria had her own careers but was also the great-great-great-granddaughter of railroad tycoon Cornelius Vanderbilt, Page Six points out.)

"My mom's made clear to me that there's no trust fund. There's none of that," Anderson said on Howard Stern's radio show in 2014. "I don't believe in inheriting money… I think it's an initiative sucker. I think it's a curse. Who's inherited a lot of money that has gone on to do things in their life? From the time I was growing up, if I felt like there was some pot of gold waiting for me, I don't know if I would have been so motivated."

The value of Anderson's inheritance is unclear.

Page Six has previously reported on Chris's estrangement from his family. He appears to have distanced himself from his relatives decades ago following some type of incident or conflict with Gloria's former psychiatrist. The socialite won a $1.5 million judgement against that doctor and a lawyer after accusing them of "preying on her wealth and emotional fragility," Page Six reported.

"[Chris] started to become estranged after the incident. I won't divulge anything more," his former fiancée, April Sandmeyer, previously told the New York Post.

Anderson and his half-brother at some point "did reconnect and reconcile," the journalist told Page Six in 2016.

Alleged stalker returns to Chloe Grace Moretz's house after jail release

Just moments after a man was released from jail for showing up uninvited to Chloe Grace Moretz's home, the alleged stalker returned to the actress' house again — and, for the second time in two days, he was arrested.

TMZ reported that a man showed up outside the actress' Los Angeles-area house late in the evening on Sunday. The man reportedly drove to her house, parked outside, jumped a gate at the front entrance to her house, walked up to the door and knocked. He was quickly arrested and taken to jail. Well, on Monday, the 18-year-old man was released from jail and immediately went back to Chloe's house.

He was back in jail about three hours after being released.

The man was initially booked for misdemeanor trespassing. However, after Monday's arrest, TMZ said he's now facing felony stalking charges.

For his second arrest, the man followed the same pattern as he did before: he parked outside Chloe's house, jumped the gate and knocked on the front door. Chloe's family again called the police and told the man to leave.

His bail is set at $150,000.

Robin Wright starred as Jenny, Forrest Gump's troubled childhood best friend and longtime love interest.

Robin Wright earned Golden Globe and SAG Award nominations for her performance in "Forrest Gump." In the years that followed, she starred in "Message in a Bottle," "Unbreakable," "White Oleander," "Nine Lives," "Beowulf," "Moneyball," "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo," "Wonder Woman," "Blade Runner 2049" and more. He's also had stints on "CSI: NY," "24," "Touch," "Nashville," "Justified," "Chicago P.D." and "Lethal Weapon." Mykelti married his third wife, actress Sondra Spriggs, in 1997. They have two daughters. The actor has a third daughter with his second wife, Cheryl Chisholm. In 1998, a jury acquitted him of attempted manslaughter after he was charged with attacking his ex's then-lover, Leroy Edwards. Mykelti reportedly slashed Leroy on the hand and across the abdomen with a knife during a dispute.

Sally Field starred as Forrest Gump's beloved mother, who runs a boarding house out of their home in Alabama.

A year after "Forrest Gump" debuted, Sally Field starred on the NBC miniseries "A Woman of Independent Means," for which she earned two Emmy nominations and a Golden Globe nomination. In the years that followed, the two-time Oscar winner won two Emmys for her work on "ER" and "Brothers & Sisters" (on which she starred from 2006 to 2011), earned her third Academy Award nomination for her performance in "Lincoln" and racked up three more Golden Globe nominations for various projects. While promoting her memoir "In Pieces" in September 2018, the multi-hyphenate — who has three sons from two marriages — made headlines for opening up about her troubled childhood and how it influenced her relationship with Burt Reynolds, whom she romanced in the late '70s and early '80s. The iconic actor died less than two weeks before her book debuted.

Michael Conner Humphreys took an extended break from acting after he starred in "Forrest Gump." According to his active social media profiles, he served in the Army from 2005 to 2012 as part of the mechanized infantry stationed in Germany and Iraq. In 2011, he made his return to Hollywood with the WWII drama "Pathfinders: In the Company of Strangers." He now lives in the Pacific Northwest, where he has a serious girlfriend and is taking acting classes.

Hanna Hall portrayed the young version of Jenny.

After making her acting debut in "Forrest Gump," Hanna Hall went on to land roles in "The Virgin Suicides" and Rob Zombie's 2007 remake of "Halloween." The former child star, who studied at the Vancouver Film School, also popped up on episodes of "Criminal Minds" and "Masters of Sex" and has worked behind the scenes on various small projects as a production assistant, camera assistant and assistant director.

In 2006, Haley pleaded no contest to misdemeanor DUI and drug-possession charges after he hit a brick mailbox and flipped his car while driving near Los Angeles. Four years later, after a brief break from acting, he graduated from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. He then made his big return to Hollywood, appearing in "Tusk," the "Entourage" movie and "Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile." He's also had memorable stints on "Alpha House," "The Spoils Before Dying," "Silicon Valley" and "Future Man."

It seems like just yesterday that Jason Biggs shocked the world with his dessert-related antics in "American Pie," but it's actually been 20 years since the comedy debuted in theaters. Jason Biggs starred as Jim Levenstein, an awkward and sexually inexperienced high school senior, in "American Pie."

Jason Biggs went on to star in the "American Pie" sequels, "Anything Else," "Jersey Girl," "Over Her Dead Body" and "My Best Friend's Girl." After years of struggling to recreate his nerdy image, he finally scored a major career comeback in 2013 when he won the role of Larry Bloom on the hit comedy "Orange Is the New Black." He more recently starred in 2018's "Dear Dictator" and will appear on the FOX sitcom "Outmatched" in 2020. In 2008, Jason married writer-actress Jenny Mollen. The duo welcomed their first child, son Sid, in February 2014. Their second son, Lazlo, was born in 2017.

After "American Pie," Shannon Elizabeth took her sexy comedienne shtick to "Scary Movie," "That '70s Show," "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back" and more. In 2005, Shannon parted ways with her husband of three years, actor Joseph D. Reitman. She competed on Season 6 of "Dancing With the Stars" in 2008 and fell for her partner, professional ballroom dancer Derek Hough. Though Thomas Ian Nicholas continues acting, he's also found success with his other passion — music. He's released a handful of albums with his eponymous band and one of their tracks even made it onto the "American Reunion" soundtrack. He more recently appeared in 2018's "Nightmare Shark" and will appear in "Zeroville" in 2019. In 2007, he married DJ Colette Marino. They welcomed a son, Nolan River, in October 2011, and a daughter in April 2016.

Tara Reid played Vicky Lathum, Kevin's girlfriend, in "American Pie."

In the wake of her newfound fame after "American Pie" came out, Tara Reid palled around with Paris Hilton and gained a reputation as a party girl. She also dated and got engaged to "TRL" host Carson Daly, but marriage wasn't in the cards for these two. Her career — and personal life — soon took a downturn. She struggled to find work outside of the teen rom-com genre, eventually turning to reality TV with appearances on "Celebrity Big Brother" and "Taradise." In 2006, Tara made headlines when she admitted to having a botched breast implant surgery and liposuction procedure, which she later tried to have fixed. Two years later, the troubled party girl went to rehab, reportedly for alcohol abuse. Sadly, her erratic behavior didn't end there. In 2011, she concocted a fake marriage to a Bulgarian financier. She later dated Infected Mushroom musician Erez Eisen. She scored a career comeback with the cult-comedy "Sharknado" TV movie franchise in 2013. She's since appeared in five "Sharknado" sequels, most recently in 2018's "The Last Sharknado: It's About Time."

Eddie Kaye Thomas went on to re-team with "American Pie" co-star John Cho on several projects, including three installments of the "Harold & Kumar" franchise. He's also appeared in a handful of off-Broadway productions, starred on "How to Make It in America" and has voiced Barry Robinson, the son on "American Dad," since 2005. He more recently starred on the CBS series "Scorpion" from 2014 to 2018. He and longtime love Ari Graynor parted ways in 2012, and the following year, Eddie made headlines when a woman he reportedly picked up from a Los Angeles diner threatened him with a knife and then barricaded herself in his home. Yikes!

Seann William Scott starred as Steve Stifler, a popular jock who loves to party, in 1999's "American Pie."

After playing Stifler, Seann William Scott struggled to break away from playing wild characters in raunchy comedies, leading to unsatisfying roles in films like "Road Trip," "Dude, Where's My Car?" and "The Dukes of Hazzard." In 2011, Scott underwent a radical life makeover: He admitted himself to rehab for undisclosed issues, appeared in the critically acclaimed film "Goon" and got engaged to his model girlfriend, Lindsay Frimodt. But they never made it down the aisle: Seann and Lindsay called it quits in 2013. Seann has more recently starred on FOX's TV-series reboot of "Lethal Weapon" and is set to appear in "Already Gone" in 2019.

Jennifer Coolidge starred as Stifler's mom — who memorably seduces her son's frenemy, Finch — in "American Pie."

Since her star-making turn in "American Pie," Jennifer Coolidge has landed a slew of funny roles in everything from "Legally Blonde" and "2 Broke Girls" to the "Friends" spin-off "Joey," "Best in Show" and more! She more recently guest starred on a 2019 episode of "The Cook Kids" and appeared in Ariana Grande's video for "thank u, next." Even though she's best known for her role as a seductress, the actress has managed to keep her real love life surprisingly under wraps. In late 2013, she admitted to The Guardian that she was involved in a year-and-a-half-long relationship with a man she described as "the whole package." But she hasn't always been so lucky in love: "I did date younger men after ['American Pie']," she told The Guardian. "I really dated younger men for the next 10, 15 years." One of those guys was "Saturday Night Live" comedian Chris Kattan.

Chris Klein starred as Chris "Oz" Ostreicher, an attractive jock with a sensitive side, in "American Pie."

After "American Pie," Chris Klein hooked up with — and subsequently got engaged to — "Dawson's Creek" darling Katie Holmes, making him one half of America's most adorable young couple. Happily ever after wasn't in the cards for Katie and Chris, however, and they broke up in 2005. Shortly afterward, Chris was arrested for DUI. After a second offense in 2010, the actor checked into rehab for alcoholism. Since then, Chris has led a much more quiet and healthy lifestyle. "Today I'm the luckiest guy alive," a sober Chris told People in 2012, the same year he got together with travel agent Laina Rose Thyfault, whom he married in 2015. They welcomed son Frederick Easton in 2016 and daughter Isla Rose in 2018. Chris has notably appeared in "American Pie 2," "American Wedding," "Just Friends" and "Wilfred." In 2018, he joined the cast of The CW's "The Flash."

Mena Suvari had a hard time finding new types of roles after starring in "American Pie" and "American Beauty." Though she continues to work regularly, she's yet to re-create her early success. She's appeared in "Rumor Has It," "Stuck," "American Horror Story," "Six Feet Under" and "South of Hell." Mena has been married three times. First to cinematographer Robert Brinkmann, whom she divorced in 2005, and then to concert producer Simone Sestito, with whom she parted ways in January 2012 after just 18 months of marriage. She found love again with Michael Hope, whom she married in 2018.

Natasha Lyonne starred as Jessica, Vicky's sexually experienced friend, in "American Pie."

Natasha Lyonne has built a steady career in Hollywood since her "American Pie" days. She starred in the "American Pie" sequels, "Blade: Trinity" and "Robots" but soon became best known for her critically acclaimed role on Netflix's "Orange Is the New Black," for which she received an Emmy nomination. She's currently starring on Netflix's "Russian Doll," on which she also serves as a co-creator, executive producer and writer. Natasha, who's been open about her battles with drug and alcohol addictions, has been dating "Saturday Night Live" alum Fred Armisen since 2014.

John Cho starred as John, one of the "MILF" guys, in "American Pie."

John Cho went on to headline the "Harold & Kumar" film franchise after "American Pie." But that's not all! He's also portrayed Sulu in the rebooted "Star Trek" movie franchise and appeared in a supporting role on the "Sleepy Hollow" TV series and scored a leading role on the short-lived ABC sitcom "Selfie." He more recently starred in 2018's "Searching" and is next set to star on Netflix's "Cowboy Bebop" live-action series. In 2006, John wed actress Kerri Higuchi. The very private couple have since welcomed two children: a son reportedly named Kage and a daughter.

Alyson Hannigan starred as Michelle Flaherty, a sexually liberated band camp geek, in "American Pie."

After developing her comedic timing in "American Pie," Alyson Hannigan took her skills to the hit sitcom "How I Met Your Mother," on which she starred from 2005 to 2014. She also starred in the "American Pie" sequels, "Date Movie" and "Veronica Mars." The actress more recently appeared in the 2019's "Kim Possible" and will star on the upcoming second season of "Pure." Alyson married her "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" co-star Alexis Denisof in 2003 and the duo had two daughters: Satyana Marie and Keeva Jane.

July 9, 2019, is an important date in pop culture history: It marks the 15th anniversary of the day we were first introduced to San Diego's KVWN Channel 4 News Team in "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy." So much has changed since then. It's now appropriate to order scotchy scotch scotch from your favorite watering hole — though milk is still a bad choice. And we've all learned that there's nothing wrong with loving lamp. But as much as the world has changed since "Anchorman" debuted in 2004, it's changed even more for the films' five main stars. Read on to find out just how different their lives are now…

Will Ferrell starred as Ron Burgundy, the station's No. 1 news anchor, in 2004's "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy."

Will Ferrell and his wife, Swedish actress and auctioneer Viveca Paulin, welcomed their first child, son Magnus, just months before "Anchorman" made the comedian an international star. They've since welcomed two more boys: Mattias in 2006 and Axel in 2010. The funnyman's also scored two Golden Globe nominations: the first in 2006 for "The Producers" and another the following year for "Stranger Than Fiction." Will has also starred in "Talladega Nights," "Step Brothers," "The Other Guys," "The Lego Movie" and "Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues." He more recently appeared in 2019's "The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part" and is set to star in the 2019 comedy "Zeroville."

Christina Applegate starred as Veronica Corningstone, Ron's co-anchor and love interest, in "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy."

A few years after "Anchorman" pushed Christina Applegate back into the spotlight, her marriage of six years to "That Thing You Do!" actor Johnathon Schaech crumbled. But that was the least of her worries: In 2008, the talented "Married…With Children" alum was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent a double mastectomy. Fortunately, she's been healthy ever since. On Valentine's Day 2010, musician Martyn LeNoble asked the Emmy winner to be his wife. They welcomed daughter Sadie Grace in January 2011 and tied the knot two years later. Career-wise, Christina has starred in a slew of TV shows and movies since her "Anchorman" days including "Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues," "Hall Pass," "Vacation," "Bad Moms" and "Samantha Who?" She was also nominated for a Tony Award for her performance in the 2005 Broadway revival of "Sweet Charity." She currently stars on the Netflix comedy series "Dead to Me."

Paul Rudd played Brian Fantana, a ladies' man field reporter, in 2004's "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy."

The year before "Anchorman" introduced Paul Rudd to an entirely new audience, the handsome (and seemingly ageless!) star wed former publicist Julie Yaeger. The couple welcomed son Jack in 2006 and daughter Darby in 2010. Paul went on to headline comedies such as "I Love You, Man," "Role Models," "This Is 40," "The Fundamentals of Caring" and "Ideal Home." Paul has also become a certified superhero since 2004, starring as Ant-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with appearances in "Ant-Man," "Captain America: Civil War," "Ant-Man and the Wasp" and 2019's "Avengers: Endgame." Next up, he'll star in the sequel "Ghostbusters 2020."

Steve Carell starred as Brick Tamland, an exceptionally slow but good-natured weatherman, in "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy"

The month before "Anchorman" made Steve Carell a star, he and longtime love Nancy Walls Carell welcomed their second child, son John. (Their daughter, Elisabeth Anne, was born in 2001.) Steve went on to become one of the most beloved comedic actors in Hollywood, headlining "The 40-Year-Old Virgin," "Little Miss Sunshine," "Despicable Me," "Crazy, Stupid, Love" and, of course, NBC's "The Office," which earned him six Emmy nominations. Steve also made a name for himself starring in several dramas including "Little Miss Sunshine," "The Big Short" "Battle of the Sexes" and "Foxcatcher," for which he was nominated for an Oscar. He more recently appeared in 2018's "Welcome to Marwen" and next will star on the 2019 Apple TV+ series "The Morning Show" opposite Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon.

David Koechner played Champ Kind, the station's sportscaster, in "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy."

David Koechner's talent for character acting has made him one of the most in-demand performers in the business — even if most people don't know his name. The comedian has reteamed with his "Anchorman" co-stars countless times over the years: with Will Ferrell in "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby" and "Semi-Pro" and with Steve Carell in "The 40-Year-Old Virgin," "Get Smart" and "The Office." He more recently appeared in 2018's "Then Came You" and currently stars on ABC's "Bless This Mess." David and wife Leigh — who almost died giving birth to their first child, son Charles Patrick — welcomed four more kids via surrogate: daughter Margot Grace, twins Audrey Violet and William Sargent, and youngest Eve Juliet, who arrived in January 2011.
