Love was definitely in the air for Kate Beckinsale and a special new guy over the weekend. The 45-year-old star was spotted cozying up to 30-year-old comic, Jack Whitehall, as the two chatted with friends between kisses and tender touches at the Blind Dragon nightclub in Los Angeles on Saturday, Nov. 3. "They were like a pair of loved-up teenagers and weren't trying to hide their feelings, they were practically sitting on top of each other in the booth of the nightclub and were laughing with each other," an onlooker told The Sun of the pair's L.A. date night. "Kate rested her hand on Jack's shoulder and she kept laughing and smiling at his jokes, as the night progressed, he seemed to be growing in confidence and put his arm around her and gave her a hug. Then he decided to put his hand around the back of Kate's neck and pulled her across him, where they started to passionately kiss,"the source added." Before being photographed at the Blind Dragon, Kate and Jack were spotted grabbing a bite at Craig's, according to the Daily Mail. After the evening wrapped up in the wee hours of Sunday morning, the two headed back to the London West Hollywood at Beverly Hills, a swanky recently remodeled hotel frequented by Gwen Stefani, Hugh Grant, Rob Lowe and other celebs. Kate was previously linked to actor/comedian Matt Rife, 23.

As he told Ellen DeGeneres on the Monday, Nov. 5 edition of "Ellen," he and Gwen Stefani were dressing up for a late October birthday bash for Gwen's niece and nephew when Blake ran into trouble with both of the costume options Gwen had for him. "So it's the birthday party and Gwen had gotten me an 'Incredibles' costume, the dad. And I put it on and it literally — this was here in L.A. — it was like putting on a thick coat because it had muscles and I don't have real muscles …," Blake joked (via ET). Rihanna slams Donald Trump's 'tragic rallies' after learning he used her music

Add Rihanna to the growing list of artists irked by Donald Trump's use of their music at his public events. On Sunday, Nov. 4, a tweet from Washington Post's White House Bureau Chief Philip Rucker alerted Rihanna to the fact that the president was using one of her songs at his rally in Tennessee. She quickly responded to his tweet, assuring him she plans to shut that soundtrack down, stat. "It's been said a million times, but here's a million and one — Trump's rallies are unlike anything else in politics," the initial tweet read. "Currently, Rihanna's "Don't Stop the Music" is blaring in Chattanooga as aides toss free Trump T-shirts into the crowd, like a ball game. Everyone's loving it." Rihanna's reply? "Not for much longer…me nor my people would ever be at or around one of those tragic rallies, so thanks for the heads up philip!" Rih definitely seemed to have politics on the brain over the weekend. Shortly before her response to the rally tweet, she urged followers voting in Florida to cast their ballots for Democratic gubernatorial candidate, Andrew Gillum, whom she noted would be just the fifth black governor of any state in American history if he won. "And VOTE YES on Amendment 4 to restore voting rights to folks who have already paid their debt to society. VOTE on November 6th!" she added in another tweet. The singer's "Don't Stop the Music" post comes just one day after Axl Rose chastised the president for "using loopholes in the various venues' blanket performance licenses … without the songwriters' consent" in reference to his Guns N' Roses song, "Sweet Child O Mine," which has been used regularly at Trump's rallies despite the band's formal request for a cease and desist. According to the Guardian, the venues where the rallies have taken place likely have a license that allows an "overarching" use of various songs. Pharrell Williams, Steven Tyler and the Rolling Stones, among more than two dozen other musicians, have also recently expressed their anger at the president for his use of their music.

Debra Messing is 'ashamed' NBC aired controversial, pro-Trump immigration ad

Rihanna wasn't the only celeb who distanced herself from conservatives over the weekend. During NBC's Sunday Night Football broadcast, the network aired a highly controversial ad that cites the migrant caravan crossing Mexico as a reason to "vote Republican" and support Donald Trump's border tightening efforts. Debra Messing, whose "Will & Grace" reboot appears on NBC, was furious. "To our @willandgrace fans—I want you to know that I am ashamed that my network aired this disgusting racist ad," she tweeted after seeing the spot. "It is the antithesis of everything I personally believe in, and what, I believe, our show is all about. @nbc," Judd Apatow posted a similarly angry message to NBC about its choice to air the ad. Both NBC and FOX later announced they would no longer run the ad, according to THR.

Janet Jackson gives empowering speech about women and equality at MTV EMAs

Earlier this year, Janet Jackson began performing a 1999 song about domestic abuse called "What About" for the first time in years — and it often led her to become visibly distraught onstage. She seemed to be grappling with some of the same issues at work in the song when she accepted her Global Icon Award at the MTV European Music Awards on Sunday, Nov. 4. "I accept this award with profound gratitude. To be called an icon is a tremendous honor, but one that comes with a tremendous responsibility," she said at the awards show, held in Bilbao, Spain (via ET). "Tonight I feel moved to speak for women whose voices have been stifled, she continued. "I am one of those women. Women who have been gagged, both literally and emotionally. Women who have been abused. Women who have been [intimidated]. Women who have lived in fear. I stand with you. You are my sisters." From there, she shifted to a message of positivity, encouraging listeners to do what they can to make the world a better place. "Tonight I carry the hope that a new world is emerging," she said. Matthew McConaughey auditioned for Leonardo DiCaprio's 'Titanic' role: 'I wanted that'

For much of the past decade, Matthew McConaughey's veered toward meaty, dramatic roles, like that of a working class, single-parent family father in "White Boy Rick." But the guy who improvised the now famous "alright, alright, alright" line in 1993's "Dazed and Confused" had to do some serious strategizing to graduate to a level where opportunities like "The Dallas Buyers Club" were coming his way. On this weekend's "THR Awards Chatter" podcast, Matthew explained that after playing Woodson in "Dazed" and a slew of leading men in various rom-coms, he had to "unbrand" himself at a certain point in his career so he could start taking more substantive projects. Turns out "Titanic" could have been one of them. "I went and auditioned for that. I wanted that," he recalled of the 1997 film, in which he hoped to play the Jack Dawson lead that ultimately went to Leonardo DiCaprio. "I auditioned with Kate Winslet. Had a good audition. Walked away from there pretty confident that I had it. I didn't get it. I never got offered that." Instead, by the early aughts, Matthew found himself stuck in a rom-com niche with movies like "The Wedding Planner," How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days" and "Failure to Launch." "It was fun, it was great pay and I learned that, you know what, these are not the type of movies to dig deep [within one's own experience]," he admitted. "They were 'Saturday characters.' I remember saying, 'I'm gonna give myself another Saturday!' They were fun. The pay was great. I was looking forward to them. I enjoyed going to work. I was also living on a beach and going out without my shirt on, just like I did before I was famous. I was living a romantic-comedy." That's when he saw a large spread in People devoted to photos of him running around on a beach without his shirt on — and promptly stopped saying "yes" to those Saturday roles. "I did become conscious of it," he says. "It looked like that's what I was doing 24/7. So I was like, 'I'm not gonna feed that.'" At the time, he and Camila Alves had gotten serious and were expecting their first child. "My life was becoming very vital and exciting and dreams were coming true and things were new and scary and wow," he says. "Then I looked at my career and I was like, 'Eh, doesn't seem as exciting, doesn't seem as fresh, doesn't seem as dangerous. I feel like I'm loving harder and laughing harder and crying harder in real life than I'm getting to do in my work. And I remember saying, 'Hey, well, if it's gotta be one way or the other, McConaughey, at least it's that way, 'cause the other way around we've got work to do on the real-life side.'"

Jason Aldean and Brittany Kerr reveal the name for their unborn daughter

Jason Aldean and his wife, Brittany Kerr, were in full baby mode over the weekend as they celebrated the impending arrival of their second child with a shower at Allenbrooke Farms in Spring Hill, Tennessee, and a name announcement for the baby girl-to-be. Brittany shared the name update with some help from Jason's 11-year-old daughter, Kendyl (whose mom was Jason's previous wife, Jessica Ussery). "It's Brit and Kendyl here," Brittany said in a clip posted to her Instagram Story (via Us Weekly). "And we are so excited for …" She then passed announcer duties over to her step-daughter for the big reveal. "Navy Rome Williams!" Kendyl hollered. In addition to step-sisters Kendyl and Keeley, 15, Navy's set to join big brother, Memphis, whom Brittany and Jason welcomed on Dec. 1, 2017.

John Mayer designs Mac Miller T-shirt tribute

Last week's "Mac Miller: A Celebration of Life" benefit concert brought together artists from Travis Scott to John Mayer to remember the late rapper while raising money for the newly formed Mac Miller Circles Fund, which provides underserved kids with arts resources. In addition to performing at the show. John announced plans to release a T-shirt he designed in Mac's honor, the proceeds of which will go to the fund. The finished product was a collaborative effort with graphic artist, Jeremy Dean, according to Page Six, which reports the shirt makes use of themes from Mac's final album, "Swimming," including the words "Swim Forever," which appear on the sleeves, and "to a place where time don't end," on the chest. Illustrations of a deep-sea diver and a yin-yang appear on the shirt as well, along with the years Mac was born and died. This week, the Los Angeles County Coroner's office announced Mac died on Sept. 7 from an accidental overdose involving fentanyl and cocaine. He was 26.
