Man charged in connection with death of Mac Miller

A man was charged in the connection with the death of rapper Mac Miller, according to a federal criminal complaint unsealed on Sept. 4. Cameron James Pettit, 28, is accused of being one of three people who provided counterfeit oxycodone pills containing fentanyl to Mac, who overdosed at 26 at his Los Angeles-area home on Sept. 7, 2018.

"Old Town Road" named No. 1 song of the summer by Billboard

"Old Town Road" wins again! Lil Nas X's country-rap song was named the No. 1 song of the summer by Billboard Magazine on Sept. 3. Billie Eilish's "Bad Guy" came in at No. 2, while Khalid's "Talk" placed third. Ed Sheeran's single with Justin Bieber, "I Don't Care," placed fourth, and Lizzo's hit song "Truth Hurts" rounded out the top five at No. 5.

11 new women accuse Placido Domingo of sexual harassment

Singer Placido Domingo, who's also the director of the Los Angeles Opera, has been accused of sexual harassment by 11 new women, according to an AP report published on Sept. 4. The women allege that the music star acted inappropriately with them over the years, accusing him of unwanted touching, asking for private get-togethers, attempting to kiss them on the lips and calling them late at night. The new claims come just a few weeks after the opera star was accused by several other women in an explosive AP expose.

Ariana Grande files lawsuit against Forever 21 for use of "look-alike" model

Ariana Grande is suing Forever 21 for allegedly hiring a look-a-like model for a social media campaign after the superstar singer declined an endorsement deal with the fashion retailer, according to legal docs filed on Sept. 3. Ariana's team claims the endorsement deal "never came to fruition because the amounts that Forever 21 offered to pay for the right to use Ms. Grande's name and likeness were insufficient for an artist of her stature." The lawsuit further claims that "Rather than pay for that right as the law requires, Defendants simply stole it by launching a misleading campaign across its website and social media platforms primarily in January and February 2019… The campaign capitalized on the concurrent success of Ms. Grande's album Thank U, Next by publishing at least 30 unauthorized images and videos misappropriating Ms. Grande's name, image, likeness, and music in order to create the false perception of her endorsement." Ariana is seeking $10 million in damages.

Celebrity deaths

LaShawn Daniels (pictured), a songwriter of hits like Destiny's Child "Say My Name" and Lady Gaga's "Telephone," died in a car crash on Sept. 3. He was 41. Country singer Kylie Rae Harris died in a three-vehicle crash in northern New Mexico on Sept. 4. She was 30. Jimmy Johnson, the guitarist for the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section (a.k.a. "the Swampers"), who recorded with Aretha Franklin, Paul Simon and Lynyrd Skynyrd, died on Sept. 5. He was 76.

Taylor Swift's "Lover" debuts at No. 1

Another No. 1 for Taylor Swift! The pop sensation's seventh studio album, "Lover," debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 200 chart with 867, 000 units earned in the week ending Aug. 29, according to Nielsen Music. The album had the biggest sales week for any artist since the release of Taylor's last effort, 2017's "reputation."

A$AP Rocky will not challenge Sweden assault conviction

A$AP Rocky is ready to put his Sweden legal ordeal behind him. The rapper will not appeal his assault conviction, his lawyer revealed on Sept. 4. "Given the headache and the stress this process has meant he has decided he doesn't have the strength to do this one more time," Slobodan Jovicic told TT news agency. A$AP and two other men were convicted on Aug. 14 of assaulting a 19-year-old man after an argument in Stockholm. The rapper, who insisted he was only defending himself, received a suspended sentence.

Keith Richards buys smokeless ashtray to appease Mick Jagger

Mick Jagger and Keith Richards might have hated each other at one point, but now the two are as thick as thieves. The Rolling Stones guitarist reportedly bought a smokeless ashtray that inhales stray cigarette smoke in an attempt to avoid annoying bandmate Mick, who underwent heart surgery in April, according to The Telegraph.

On Sept. 9, 2019, the "Brady Bunch" home gets a real estate makeover on the new HGTV series "A Very Brady Renovation." Starring all six of TV's Brady kids — Maureen McCormick, Eve Plumb, Susan Olsen, Mike Lookinland, Christopher Knight and Barry Williams — the series follows the former child stars as they help renovate the Studio City, California, house that was used for exterior shots of their fictional family's home. In honor of the new show's debut, Wonderwall.com is taking a look at some of Hollywood's biggest real estate dramas, including the one involving a former boybander who tried to buy the Brady house first! Former *NSYNC member Lance Bass — who's a "Brady Bunch" superfan — was left singing "Bye Bye Bye" after he learned he was outbid on the famed Brady house. The drama began on Aug. 3, 2018, when Lance shared the exciting news on Twitter that his offer for the property had been accepted, adding, "This is going to be a fun project!" Two days later, however, his tune had changed. Lance shared in a since-deleted Instagram post that after the deadline for offers had passed, a new buyer with "unlimited resources" emerged and made a higher bid for the property, which the seller accepted. (The Los Angeles Times reported that the property went for $3.5 million — or $1.6 million more than its $1.885 listing price.) A week later, the mystery buyer was revealed as HGTV, which purchased the property with plans to make a new show, "A Very Brady Renovation." In a fun twist, Lance later shared that he was no longer bitter about what happened and would be involved in the show "in some way."

Have a seat, because this real estate battle between Katy Perry and two Catholic nuns, which began in 2013, is a doozy. The Los Angeles Archdiocese sold a convent that had been home to the Order of the Most Holy and Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary, a sprawling eight-acre estate located in the hills of L.A.'s Los Feliz area, to Katy in 2015 for $14.5 million. According to two nuns who'd lived there — Sister Catherine Rose Holzman and Sister Rita Callanan — the Archdiocese forced them to move against their will in 2011 and had no right to sell the place, given that the orders' sisters had bought it back in the 1970s. Adding to the drama was the nuns' disapproval of Katy's overtly sexual public image, which they claimed made her the worst possible person to buy the convent. The nuns wanted it to go to a different buyer, restaurateur Dana Hollister, and secured a sale on their own. In July 2015, a judge ruled in favor of Katy and the Archdiocese, invalidating Dana's purchase. In 2017, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge also ruled that Sister Catherine Rose and Sister Rita had no authority to sell the estate, citing a rule that requires the Vatican to approve any church property sales over $7.5 million. Sadly, the drama still wasn't over. Additional court rulings awarded Katy and the Archdiocese monetary compensation for their legal fees from Dana, who later declared bankruptcy, while the Vatican decided that Katy couldn't buy the property until a suitable replacement for the still-in-use House of Prayer — located on the estate grounds — was located by the Archdiocese. Still in limbo, Dana went to bankruptcy court in 2018, accompanied by the nuns. During a courtroom break, 89-year-old Sister Catherine Rose spoke to a FOX 11 News reporter about the matter, saying, "Katy Perry, please stop. It's not doing anyone any good except hurting a lot of people." Just hours later, the nun collapsed and died at the courthouse. Sister Rita later told the New York Post, "Katy Perry has blood on her hands." The convent was put back on the market and Sister Rita vowed to keep fighting an Archdiocese sale.

If you think Rihanna is untouched by real estate drama, think again. In 2009, the Grammy-winning recording artist purchased a home in Los Angeles's coveted Beverly Crest community for $6.5 million. Just two years later, the home was placed on a foreclosure list, which raised eyebrows. It turns out that after a moderate rainstorm, the house suffered extreme water damage, revealing it wasn't up to code when it was sold. In a lawsuit filed against the former owners, Rihanna's lawyers claimed that shoddy renovations caused "extensive water intrusion," turning the property into a "major fixer upper." Rihanna's lawyers also claimed the "Umbrella" singer paid too much for the home based on the real estate broker's incorrect comps. In a second lawsuit, Rihanna sued her accountant, who'd encouraged her to buy the property, claiming the purchase nearly "bankrupted" her. In 2011, Rihanna listed the home in a cash-only short sale, taking on a $2 million loss. Thankfully, she settled both lawsuits and was able to recoup some of her investment.

According to some residents, Brad Pitt's charity home-building organization, Make it Right, might have been making it wrong for some Hurricane Katrina victims. In a 2018 lawsuit filed against the nonprofit — which helped rebuild parts of New Orleans' Lower Ninth Ward following the devastating 2005 hurricane — residents alleged that they were living in "defective and improperly constructed homes." The lawsuit also claimed that builders knew about the deficiencies — which residents said had lowered the value of their properties — but never alerted them. The case was moved to federal court in 2018 and returned to civil court in 2019. Brad has not denied his foundation's liability in the case but his lawyers have requested his name be removed as a defendant because he was not actually involved in any part of the construction or design of the homes.

Drake clearly means what he says in his songs. In his 2015 hit "Where Ya At," Drake rapped, "I'm self-made, selfish with my women, self-employed / I'll buy the neighbor's house if they complain about the noise." Just a year later, the former Young Money/Cash Money star made good on his promise when he purchased a $2.85 million home adjacent to his YOLO property in Hidden Hills, California, following complaints about his loud music.

Sandra Bullock is not here for anyone's bull, especially not the the architect responsible for building what was supposed to be her Texas dream home. In 2001, Sandy was sued by architect M.B. "Benny" Daneshjou for nonpayment on the home he both designed and constructed. The "Speed" actress countersued, citing shoddy construction and racketeering based on illegal billing practices. In 2004, the case went to court, with a third-party architect taking the stand for Sandra, showing video evidence of mold and rot throughout the property, windows and doors that leaked air and moisture, wet insulation and, shockingly, an outdoor wall that was built on the ground without a foundation, among other jaw-dropping examples. The actress, who'd paid $6 million for her home, claimed she needed to pay an additional $4 million for repairs to make the house livable. The jury sided with Sandra, awarding her $7 million in damages.

Eggs can be part of a healthy diet, but they're also part of a recipe for neighborhood drama. In 2014, Justin Bieber was charged with vandalism after he reportedly threw eggs at his neighbor's multimillion-dollar home in Calabasas, California. The Canadian singer was ordered to pay $80,000 in restitution to his neighbor, who later sued him for assault and battery, trespassing and infliction of emotional distress to the tune of an additional $25,000. In the lawsuit, the neighbor alleged that Justin terrorized their community with loud parties and had a penchant for speeding down the street, making it unsafe for families living there. Justin later sold his party pad to another famous star, Khloe Kardashian. In 2018 after three years of litigation, Justin finally settled the lawsuit for an undisclosed amount.

Ed Sheeran is learning the hard way that all the money in the world won't stop nosy neighbors from complaining about your seemingly illegal pool, er, pond. In March 2019, an addition to Ed's Suffolk, England, estate made headlines after neighbors accused him building a party pool but pretending it was something else entirely. Ed's planning application for a "wildlife pond" to "support nature conservation" specifically prohibited any other uses, including as a pool for "recreational leisure such as swimming." Aerial photographs of the so-called pond showed a jetty and steps leading into the azure blue water, as well as what appeared to be a changing room built on the edge. In April, things got worse when an inspection revealed Ed's changing room was actually a sauna that he installed without securing appropriate permissions from the county. The singer was later ordered to either apply for permission or remove it. This latest row is one of many Ed's faced. Previous real estate drama included complaints that he put up a non-approved pub sign on a barn that he'd legally converted into a bar, which is located on the same sprawling property as the "pond."

Rule No. 1: If you mess with Bethenny Frankel's real estate, she will come for you. In 2016, Page Six revealed that the "Real Housewives of New York City" alum was suing her former real estate attorney for $2 million for breach of contract, fraud and notary misconduct over an unauthorized addition to her real estate trust. The trust was established in 2011 to hide Bethenny's identity as the buyer of her $5 million Tribeca apartment. According to Bethenny, lawyer Jamie Andrew Schreck incorrectly listed Bethenny and her estranged husband, Jason Hoppy, as beneficiaries of the trust — a mistake that led to a lengthy legal battle between Bethenny and Jason over ownership of the apartment during their long and drawn-out divorce proceedings. As of 2019, the case against her former real estate attorney had yet to be resolved.

Another "The Real Housewives of New York City" star, Luann de Lesseps, has claimed that some family real estate drama added to issues that led to her second alcohol relapse in 2018. Luann shared on the "Today" show that she fell off the wagon after a lawsuit was brought against her by ex-husband Count Alexandre de Lesseps and their two children, Victoria and Noel, over her decision to sell their beloved $8 million Hamptons home in order to purchase something larger (she allegedly violated terms of a divorce settlement by failing to create a trust "for the benefit of her two children"). After learning about the lawsuit in the press, Luann claimed she felt "betrayed" and "hurt," which ultimately led her back to alcohol. After she sobered up again, Luann said she understood why they did it: "The children weren't happy about that because it's their home… I've decided to take something smaller and keep my home for the children because I love them."

Eccentric rapper and designer Kanye West wanted to build a futuristic community in Calabasas, California. The only problem? He doesn't have the permits to do so. But that didn't stop him from putting up buildings. In July 2019, neighbors anonymously reported construction on Ye's 300-acre property in Los Angeles County. Inspectors found peculiar 50-foot-high dome-shaped wooden buildings seemingly inspired by "Star Wars" structures. The buildings, which were supposedly meant to explore the idea of providing affordable housing to low-income residents, were dubbed "Yeezy Home." Onsite workers told inspectors the buildings were only temporary and therefore didn't need permits, but a later inspection found the homes were constructed on concrete foundations — suggesting they were permanent after all. On July 31, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works cited Kanye for failing to secure the appropriate permits, giving him until Sept. 15, 2019, to either get them or tear down his structures.

Tori Spelling and husband Dean McDermott have endured more financial hard knocks than most. After multiple lawsuits were filed against the couple for unpaid loan and credit card balances in 2016 and 2018, a public California taxpayers list showed they were delinquent on the 2017 property taxes for their Woodland Hills mansion. They owed a reported $1,980 in property taxes and a whopping $282,654 in unpaid personal taxes, though the couple apparently managed to clear their debt as of June 2018, since they're no longer listed as delinquent. Things might finally be looking up for the reality stars: In 2019, they moved to a $13,000-a-month rental home in Los Angeles's exclusive Hidden Hills community.

In 2017 — the same year Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux ended their two-year marriage — Justin filed a lawsuit against his Greenwich Village neighbor, attorney Norman Resnicow, for "bullying and intimidation" related to Justin's New York City apartment renovations. Problems with Norman began as early as 2015 when he demanded Justin install $30,000 in soundproofing on the floor. When the actor failed to comply, Norman allegedly shut off his patio water and electricity and began a campaign of pettiness. Seeking $350,000 in damages, Justin claimed Norman was "tyrannical," going so far as to kill the ivy growing on the actor's patio out of spite. In 2018, Justin and other residents of the apartment building got a restraining order against Norman, alleging harassment and bizarre behavior. As of 2019, the lawsuit was still ongoing. Norman was ordered to pay $23,000 for violating the restraining order after he sent an angry email to the president of the building's co-op board.

"The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Mauricio Umansky — whose wife is Kyle Richards — was in some serious legal trouble over a property he sold and bought in 2016. According to an $8 million lawsuit brought by Equatorial Guinea Vice President Teodoro Nguema Obiang, Mauricio was his agent for the sale of the politician's Malibu mansion — a property he was forced to unload after striking a deal with the U.S. Justice Department over allegations that he stole money from the Equatorial Guinea government. Things got sticky after Mauricio reportedly sold the property to himself and luxury developer Mauricio Oberfeld for $32.5 million without disclosing his involvement in the purchase to his client. Teodoro claimed Mauricio U. also didn't reveal that higher offers had been made on the place before it sold. A year later, both Mauricios flipped the house, selling it for more than double the purchase price — nearly $70 million. Mauricio U.'s real estate company, The Agency, released the following statement about the lawsuit: "The Agency and Mauricio Umansky exerted the highest level of integrity and honesty in this transaction, as they do in representing each of their clients. The Agency and Mr. Umansky conducted the Sweetwater transaction under the oversight of the U.S. Department of Justice, as part of an agreement between the seller and the United States Government." It wasn't the only lawsuit the part-time reality TV star had to contend with: In 2018, Mauricio U.'s insurance company, Western World Insurance, sued him for breach of contract in an effort to cease paying for his legal defense, leading Mauricio to respond with a countersuit. That case was settled the same year. Teodoro's lawsuit is ongoing.

Yet another husband, or rather, ex-husband, connected to "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" is in hot water over real estate. Developer Mohamed Hadid — the father of models Bella Hadid, Gigi Hadid and Anwar Hadid and the ex-hubby of former "RHOBH" star Yolanda Hadid — faced criminal charges in 2015 after he apparently disregarded building violations issued by the City of Los Angeles concerning construction of his mega-mansion in the community of Bel Air. The unfinished sprawling estate was not only built on an unstable hill — causing neighbors to fear a potential landslide — but was also decidedly bigger than permits allowed (more than 9,000 square feet larger!). Prosecutors later filed criminal charges against Mohamed, to which he pleaded no contest and received three years probation, fines and community service. Neighbors later followed with their own lawsuit, claiming Mohamed hasn't lived up to his plea deal. To date, the lawsuit is still ongoing, with a former construction manager of the property saying that due to safety concerns, "the entire house must be demolished."

Adam Lambert was one of several celebrities targeted in a jaw-dropping real estate scandal in 2019. Jason Emil Yaselli and Benjamin Eitan Ackerman were arrested and charged with 32 counts of money laundering and 12 counts of first-degree residential burglary and identity theft, among other charges, stemming from their alleged scheme to impersonate interested home buyers and real estate agents to gain access to properties that were for sale, often during open houses. While inside the homes of celebrities like Adam, Usher and "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Dorit Kemsley, the pair allegedly stole upwards of $500,000 in property including jewelry, expensive wine, designer purses and clothes and more. As of August 2019, the case remained under investigation.

This real estate drama started off kind of sweet. In 2016, fans of "Full House" and its reboot, "Fuller House," learned that the famed Tanner house — which was featured in the opening credits of both shows — was purchased by a mystery buyer shortly after it was put on the market. Once the sale was finalized, the buyer was revealed as none other than the show's creator, Hollywood producer and screenwriter Jeff Franklin. At the time of the purchase, Jeff envisioned restoring the San Francisco property to its TV glory and turning it into an homage to the shows. However, pushback from neighbors — who feared crowds of strangers would flock to their quiet community — led Jeff to change his mind. After renovating the home, he decided to list it for sale in 2019 for nearly $6 million.

Former NBA star Michael Jordan's name might be enough to sell his famous Nike Air Jordans shoe line, but it hasn't helped him sell his elaborate Chicago mansion, which has been on the market since 2012! The property was originally listed at $29 million and dropped to a listing price of $14.85 million in 2015. The 56,000-square-foot abode featuring nine bedrooms and 19 bathrooms failed to attract a buyer at auction in 2013 too. The reason? Real estate experts think it's all the custom touches, which include a massive basketball court in the center of the house with Michael's name emblazoned on both ends — as well as its exorbitant price tag — that have scared away potential buyers. The house, which is located in Chicago's upscale Highland Park neighborhood, is priced more than three times higher than any nearby properties, making it seem unlikely to sell anytime soon.

Director Michael Bay doesn't just make dramas for the big screen — he also lives them. In 2015, the "Transformers" franchise director was hit with a lawsuit from a construction worker hired to help build the mogul's Los Angeles home. According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the unnamed worker claimed that in 2013, he fell in a tarp-covered hole on the property. The fall caused unspecified injuries that led to medical costs and missed work, the worker claimed, so he asked Michael to pay for those as well as for additional damages. Though there haven't been any updates on the lawsuit, we do know that in March 2015 — the same month the lawsuit was announced — Michael and his newly constructed three-story home were featured in Architectural Digest.

Ariana Grande's brother backtracks, now says sister is 'single'

Ariana Grande's brother is doing an about-face after seemingly confirming speculation that the singer is dating Social House singer Mikey Foster.

Last month, reports surfaced that the "7 Rings" singer was dating Mikey, although both remained mum. On Wednesday, Frankie Grande appeared to confirm that his sister was off the market, stating he and his boyfriend, Hale Leon, went on a "double date" with Ariana and Mikey.

Now though, he says his sister is "single."

"My sister is not in a relationship. Everyone relax. She is very much single," he tweeted on Thursday before deleting it. TMZ, who snagged screen grabs of the tweet, said Frankie also mentioned that his "double date" comment just meant Ariana and Mikey went out for dinner with he and Hale.

Still, it seems that Mikey has already won over Frankie.

"I love Mikey. I think he's a really sweet guy. So talented. So kind and so caring," Frankie told Us Weekly. "He's a great guy."

Ariana and Mikey collaborated on her song "Boyfriend" over a month ago, and the rumored couple shares a steamy make-out session in the music video.

The duo has been "seeing each other for a while," Page Six said at the time. The Blast said last month that Ariana and Mikey don't have "boyfriend/girlfriend" status, but said their friendship has "taken a passionate new turn in the recent months."

Kelly Clarkson admits she became bitter after winning 'Idol'

This week marks the seventeenth anniversary of Kelly Clarkson's "American Idol" win. As she looks ahead to the premiere of her first talk show on Monday, Sept. 9 and her return to "The Voice" as a coach this fall, the singer tells USA Today she's very much the "same person" she was back then, albeit with a "busier schedule." "That's actually very true for right now," she says. "I'm the same kid that was on 'Idol.' Obviously, I'm now a mother and a wife and there's different things in my life I've progressed with. But the core of me is still the same chick you saw on 'Idol.' I have a very normal life, other than my jobs." In some ways, she adds, the "jobs" she has today tend to reflect what she learned from the "Idol" win that catapulted her to stardom. "The first three years of my career was me just paying for winning a talent show," she says, admitting that some artists were nasty towards her and members of the music industry often dismissed her even though some of those same people are now judges and coaches on today's TV talent shows. "I got real bitter. I was just looking for anyone to talk to who knew what I was going through. And that's why I like to do that for artists on 'The Voice,'" she explains. "It's actually healed that bitterness I used to carry, being able to be that for somebody else." Like Lizzo, Elle cover star Camila Cabello endured her fair share of anxiety before making it big in her solo career. She also navigated her way through that anxiety by finding a way to embrace what could be perceived as a flaw. "I think I just know myself more," she says. "I'm more gentle with myself. I think I naturally have less anxiety now, because I realized that so many of the things that brought it on weren't so scary after all." One of those things, of course, was her exit from Fifth Harmony, which the group blasted on Twitter before Camila had a chance to announce the news publicly. That pushed her into a solo career she wasn't quite ready for, according to Elle. As a result her anxiety went haywire and her obsessive-compulsive tendencies kicked in, big-time. "The compulsive behavior happened to me as far back as elementary school. But the OCD, the more difficult side of it, came full swing at the end of my time with the group," she explains. I learned a lot of self-soothing and coping mechanisms to rewire my brain along the way. All of that public pressure also likely contributed to her "don't ask, don't tell" (except for via music) policy for her romance with Shawn Mendes. "People can say whatever they want to say. They can speculate," Camila says. "But at the same time, we are going to live our own lives, enjoy it, and fall for each other like nobody is watching. That is how I want to live. I never want to open the door for people to feel like they are involved … That's why I'm so tight-lipped about it: because I want to protect it."

Kelsey Grammer and his ex-wife, Camille Grammer, will avoid going to court over differences regarding the custody and visitation of the children they share who are still minors (Mason is 17 and Jude is 15). The Blast reports new legal documents filed in their case indicate the pair has decided to split the cost of Jude's tuition, room and board, which totals at least $64,000. Kelsey will reportedly pay for his son's books, counseling, uniforms and school expenses. Wendy Williams dishes on divorce, ex's baby and single life

Wendy Williams was the hot topic of the day when she sat down with "The View" and got grilled on her ever-dramatic personal life.

The women of "The View" didn't waste any time, asking the host of "The Wendy Williams Show" about her split with husband Kevin Hunter, who reportedly fathered a child with a mistress.

"Infidelity is one thing, a full baby is a whole 'nother topic," Wendy said. "A baby. I'm not changing Pampers, I wanna be pampered! I learned from my mother how to make lemons into lemonade … what am I supposed to do, stay in the house and cry all day?"

Wendy has acknowledged that Kevin fathered another child, but she has refrained from bashing him in public, largely because of their 19-year-old son, Kevin Jr.

"It's not just about young Kevin," she said. "Kevin's not a bad man, big Kev, he's not a bad man, you just can't throw away 25 years and then start talking recklessly about the other person. What does that say about you? I chose him and he chose me. That's the way it is."

The talk show host said she severed ties with her husband, and former executive producer of her show, the minute she found out about the love child.

"You do this, you're out!" she said, but later softened, "Kevin will always be my family, no matter what and that's that. Life moves on."

Since then, she's been dating, but said she hopes to be married again.

Since her split, Wendy has found herself in somewhat unfamiliar territory, one in which she's the one being talked about, not the other way around.

"My thing about celebrity culture is, this is what I love, I've done this for over three decades, why am I gonna stop?" she said. "I didn't create this, I'm just swimming with the sharks. I don't like being talked about, but it's a necessary thing. It's a dance. I do mind it, but I also am not gonna soften when I come back. Everybody's fair game."

Wendy's show returns to the air on Sept. 16.

The actress stepped out on Wednesday at the Zimmermann Dinner and Store Party in New York City, donning a head-to-toe black ensemble, her hair tightly pulled back into a bun. Katie completed the look with heavy makeup to accentuate her facial features.

The actress' look — a black blazer slung over her shoulders, covering her sleeveless black dress — was a far cry from Katie's last look, which sent the Internet on fire.

Last week, the former "Dawson's Creek" star was pictured out in New York City wearing a $520 cashmere bra. Social media went wild over the look, prompting many to try to snatch up the bra for themselves. The bra, from New York-based label Khaite, sold out an hour after the pictures of Katie were released.

Many considered it Katie's post-breakup look, as her split from longtime boyfriend Jamie was fresh.

Katie and Jamie, who notoriously tried to hide their 6-year relationship for the majority of the romance, appear to have split several months ago, but news of the split only recently came out.

Page Six said Katie was overheard telling friends at dinner that she and Jamie "haven't been together for months."

What went wrong seems to depend on who you ask.

"It ran its course. This industry is very tough on relationships," a source told People magazine. "Jamie thinks Katie is an incredible human being. They had a very, very deep connection. They brought each other a lot of joy and laughter."

Us Weekly reported that the split simply came down to different lives … in a fairly extreme way.

"It has been many years of him stepping out with other women," Us' source said. "He's disrespectful and their lives were different. His partying ways don't fit with hers as she's focused on raising her daughter and working."

Katie was the one who ultimately pulled the plug on the relationship, Us reported.

The source went on to say that the singer-actress is "doing great" and "moving on" — purportedly from her breakup with husband Liam Hemsworth. "She seems to have no regrets. She loves being with Kaitlynn," added the insider. Two days later, Us Weekly reported that, according to a source, Miley has "really fallen" for Kaitlynn, "and the feeling is mutual." Said the source, "Miley feels she can totally be herself with Kaitlynn, and is really comfortable around her." The insider went on to say that the two women "are on the same page … which is why they work so well together." The "Wrecking Ball" chart-topper reportedly adores the reality star's "free-spirited, nonjudgmental, fun personality" and the fact that they can do anything together. They're "just as happy doing low-key things together, like staying [in] and watching a movie" as going out and partying, said the source. During an interview with Cosmopolitan that hit the Internet on Aug. 29, Whitney Port echoed the "Miley and Kaitlyn are great" line, saying that her "The Hills: New Beginnings" co-star is in "a really good place" following her recent split from Brody Jenner. "I haven't needed to support her. She doesn't need my support," Whitney said of her pal. The Us Weekly source also noted that Brody is "happy that Kaitlynn's moved on and found love." Meanwhile, there have been some rumblings about the suspicious timeline of Kaitlynn and Miley's romance…

On the Sept. 2 episode of "The Hills: New Beginning," which was filmed months ago, Kaitlynn Carter and former partner Brody Jenner addressed the rumors that they were polyamorous during their relationship. (There have been reports that Kaitlynn and new love Miley Cyrus took their relationship to the next level before their recent breakups.) "We just… we like what we like," Brody said after a friend told him and Kaitlynn that there'd been rumblings about the nature of their relationship. Kaitlynn didn't exactly deny the allegations: "When Brody and I first were together, we were young, we were crazy, we were, like, you know, basically just trying to have the time of our lives, so we did a lot of things in our relationship that, you know, I certainly wouldn't say I regret, but the level of gossip that I feel happens in the group — it just makes me angry," she said in a confessional. "My favorite is when she's like, 'Brody and I were wild, young, crazy kids.' Was that last week? Because you and Brody have only been together a minute. It's official! Pete Davidson and Margaret Qualley debuted their rumored romance at the Marco Polo Airport in Venice, Italy, on Aug. 29. (A witness told Us Weekly that they were "laughing," "chatting" and "joking around" together while picking up their luggage at baggage claim.) The following evening, Pete was seen sitting behind his new girlfriend at the Venice Film Festival premiere of "Seberg," in which she stars. On Sept. 1, they were spotted leaving the same hotel to take a boat ride together, and then on Sept. 2, they were photographed holding hands while exploring the Italian city.

Page Six reported on Sept. 3 that Jonah Hill and his girlfriend of about a year, Gianna Santos, are engaged. A rep for the actor confirmed the happy news.

Zendaya and Jacob Elordi sparked romance rumors when they vacationed together in Athens, Greece, in late August. A witness who spotted the "Euphoria" co-stars touring the Acropolis of Athens together told Us Weekly that "they looked like they were getting a little cozy" and "at one point, they were walking with each other and being a little flirty." But based on various social media posts from fans, the pair were joined by the "Spider-Man" star's pal Darnell Appling and stylist Law Roach, indicating that the vacay wasn't necessarily romantic.

Miles Teller married longtime love Keleigh Sperry in a Catholic church in Maui on Sept. 1. Guests included Shailene Woodley, Nina Dobrev, her boyfriend, Grant Mellon, and actress Rebecca Rittenhouse. "Supergirl" co-stars Melissa Benoist and Chris Wood, who got engaged in February, tied the knot at a private estate in Ojai, California, on Sept. 1. According to E! News, Kevin Smith, Odette Annable and Paul Wesley were among the guests at the poolside ceremony.

And yet another celeb-stuffed wedding… Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell's son, actor Wyatt Russell, married Meredith Hagner at his parents' home in Aspen, Colorado, over Labor Day weekend. According to People magazine, the wedding festivities kicked off with a rehearsal dinner at a local restaurant on Aug. 30. In addition to the groom's famous folks, his siblings, Kate Hudson and Oliver Hudson, were also on hand for the nuptials.

People magazine reported on Aug. 30 that a California court has warned Fergie and Josh Duhamel that if they don't file their declarations of disclosure — legal paperwork that discloses their income, expenses, assets and debts to each other — by Oct. 16, the court could dismiss their divorce. The duo separated in 2017, but it wasn't until May that the singer finally filed to end their marriage.

Us Weekly reported on Sept. 4 that, according to a source, Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli's older daughter, Bella Giannulli, is "extremely concerned they're going to get divorced" in the wake of the college admissions bribery scandal in which they're currently embroiled. The duo is reportedly butting heads over how to deal with their legal issues, with the actress eager to play ball while her husband remains defiant — he reportedly insisted (against their lawyers' advice) on taking a private jet to a recent court appearance and on rejecting the plea deal they were offered in April. Still, a second source tells Us Weekly that although Lori's friends "think she should leave him," she "refuses and says the ordeal has made them stronger."

Kevin Wendt and Astrid Loch, who first connected on Season 5 of "Bachelor in Paradise" in mid-2018, took to Instagram on Sept. 3 to announce that they're engaged. "You'll never walk alone again. From here on out, we run together. Astrid you are my family, babe. Forever," the groom-to-be captioned a slideshow of photos depicting the proposal, which went down on Toronto Island on Aug. 28. "08.28.19. I could have sworn the world stood still in this moment. A moment I'll never forget. Just you + me. @kevin.c.wendt you've taught me to love, learn and grow and I can't believe you've chosen me to spend this crazy life with. Wonder if I'll ever stop smiling? Probably not. In other Bachelor Nation news… On the Aug. 30 episode of the "Help! I Suck at Dating" podcast, Annaliese Puccini revealed that she's seeing someone new following her time on Season 6 of "Bachelor in Paradise." The Sun reported on Sept. 2 that former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher proposed to his girlfriend of six years, music manager Debbie Gwyther, during a late August trip to Italy's Amalfi Coast. The volatile rocker's mother, Peggie, was reportedly on hand during the proposal. "Debbie is over the moon and still in shock that Liam has finally popped the question. It's been on the cards for a while so she's buzzing that it's going ahead. They feel stronger than ever and he is in a really good place," a source told the British tabloid. "His music is going really well and he has a really strong bond with his oldest three kids, thanks to Debbie. Liam credits her for really turning his life around and is grateful that she has stuck by him. His mum Peggie was chuffed to bits to be present at the proposal and fully approves of his relationship with Debbie. Anna Camp and Skylar Astin have finalized their divorce, Us Weekly reported on Aug. 29, noting that the former couple agreed to waive their rights to spousal support and to split the rights to their family home in Los Angeles. The actress filed to divorce her "Pitch Perfect" co-star in April after two and a half years of marriage.

Jeannie Mai and Jeezy, who were first linked in January, took a major step forward in their relationship on Sept. 4: They went Instagram official! "She love when I talk dat fly [stuff]… 🤫 #wcw," the rapper captioned a photo of himself with an arm wrapped around the TV host, who sweetly held his hand. A few hours later, Jeannie posted another PDA-packed pic of herself and her beau with their arms wrapped around each other during a trip to the beach. Grammy-nominated R&B crooner Kenny Lattimore took to Instagram on Sept. 2 to announce that he and Judge Faith Jenkins are engaged. YouTube star Trisha Paytas sparked rumors that she and Aaron Carter are an item when she took to Instagram on Sept. 1 to share a since-deleted photo of them kissing, which she captioned with the diamond ring emoji. The former child star, meanwhile, shared an Instagram Live that showed him kissing Trisha and caressing her face as they sat in a car together. (A fan managed to capture and share the tender moment, which you can see here.) The following day, Aaron took to Twitter to insist that he isn't in a relationship. "I'm single guys…. for the time being. I'm not rushing into anything," he tweeted. "I just got out of a relationship, that isn't mature to move on too fast. PERIOD. During Part 2 of the "Teen Mom OG" Season 8 reunion special, which aired on Sept. 3, Amber Portwood revealed that her former partner, Andrew Glennon, has already moved on with someone new in the wake of their headline-making Fourth of July physical altercation. The mother of two, who denied that she attacked her then-boyfriend with a machete, said that it took her ex "less than two weeks to ask a woman to come to Indiana" to be with him. "I've already talked to her. She's a good person. She's very nice. She's very sweet," she said, adding that the entire situation has "completely ripped my heart out." In July, there were reports that Andrew had been unfaithful.

A fan snapped David Harbour and Lily Allen laughing while sitting together during the Vasiliy Lomachenko and Luke Campbell fight at London's O2 arena on Aug. 31 — further fueling rumors from early August that they're a couple.

Although Kirsten Dunst recently said that she and Jesse Plemons have yet to officially tie the knot, the duo sparked rumors that they'd secretly married by referring to each other as husband and wife when the actress received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Aug. 29. Jesse, who was introduced as Kirsten's "husband," gushed about his "wife" during a speech in her honor: "Aside from the brilliant actor you are, I have also had the even greater pleasure of getting to know you as a person outside of work," he said. "Seeing the kind of mother and wife, daughter, sister, friend and cohort you are is why I and all of your friends and everyone else are here today and why we all love you."

During an appearance on the Sept. 3 episode of "Good Morning America," Tarek El Moussa revealed that his new girlfriend, Heather Rae Young, recently met his ex-wife, Christina Anstead. But he didn't prepare either of the two women for what was about to go down before the big introduction: "I was like, 'Oh, I'm coming over to see the kids. By the way, my girlfriend is coming. During an interview for the cover of the October 2019 issue of Tatler, which hit the Internet on Aug. 30, Liv Tyler said that she and David Gardner, who got engaged in 2015, are in no rush to wed. During an interview with The New York Times that hit the Internet on Sept. 3, Linda Hamilton opened up about her relationship with ex-husband James Cameron, who directed her in "The Terminator" and "Terminator 2: Judgment Day." Said the actress, "That relationship was a mystery to all of us — even Jim and myself — because we are terribly mismatched. … I used to say we fit together like a puzzle: Everywhere he's convex, I'm concave." The duo took their relationship to the next level after they worked together on "T2." Said Linda, who shot into the spotlight after portraying Sarah Connor in the action franchise, "I think what happened there is that he really fell in love with Sarah Connor … and I did too." Amanda Stanton let loose on her ex-fiancé, Josh Murray, in her new memoir, "Now Accepting Roses: Finding Myself While Searching for the One … and Other Lessons I Learned from 'The Bachelor,'" which came out on Sept. 3. "I was together with him for six months (seems like six years), let him get close to my children, moved him into my house, made him part of my family — and I never really knew who he was," she wrote, adding that her former love's "anger issues are really bad," according to Us Weekly. She went on to detail some particularly troubling aspects of their relationship: "Josh didn't want a fiancée, he wanted a robot he could program and control. After all his sweet talk about wanting to watch the girls while I got manicures with my friends, the reality was he didn't even like me texting or talking to anyone, let alone seeing them in person," she wrote. For a couple who've been photographed packing on the PDA countless times in recent months, Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello sure enjoy cultivating a sense of mystery about the nature of their relationship. During an interview with TMZ that hit the Internet on Aug. 31, Stephen Baldwin said that even though his daughter, Hailey Bieber, eloped with Justin Bieber at a New York City courthouse nearly a year ago, they're still planning to have a big wedding for family and friends for religious reasons. "Weddings and marriage are supposed to be a holy commitment, one onto another, so I just think that as Christians and as believers, they understand that if you don't have God's spirit working in your marriage, it just makes it more and more difficult to make it work and have peace and find happiness," he said. "So we're excited that they're going to do a very fun wedding. They're going to have a lot of their pastor friends and a lot of their Christian friends around them this time." Continued the actor, "My only job is just walking my little princess down the aisle." During an interview with Harper's Bazaar that hit the Internet on Sept. 2, Kristen Stewart opened up about her relationship with former "Twilight" franchise co-star Robert Pattinson and how her attitude about dating in the limelight has changed over the years: "When me and Rob were together, we did not have an example to go by," she said. "So much was taken from us that, in trying to control one aspect, we were just like, 'No, we will never talk about it. Never. Because it's ours.'" Added the actress of why she's been less secretive about her relationships in recent years, "I think I just wanted to enjoy my life. During an Aug. 29 press conference for Noah Baumbach's "Marriage Story," Scarlett Johansson opened up about how her divorce from second husband Romain Dauriac (pictured) impacted her work in the upcoming Netflix film, in which she plays an actress ending her marriage to a theater director. (The film is reportedly based on the filmmaker's divorce from Jennifer Jason Leigh.) Scarlett was "going through a divorce" when she first met with Noah to discuss the project, she said during the Venice Film Festival. "I didn't know what we were going to talk about. … I just kind of blew into the room, ordered a glass of white wine and started complaining [about the breakup]," she recalled. "And he was just listening and very attentive. … And then he kind of cut it short and said, 'Funny you should mention it.'" The actress went on to say that it "felt sort of fated in a way" that she should make the movie. "It was an experience to share with him and have him share with me. And it somehow came at just the right time," she concluded.

During an appearance on the Sept. 4 episode of Howard Stern's SiriusXM radio show, Orlando Bloom dished on the various leading ladies in his life (both real and on screen). First, the actor admitted to having crushes on former co-stars Keira Knightley and Kirsten Dunst — but he was "way too shy" to ever do anything about it, he said. Plus, he has a strict policy against dating co-stars. That doesn't mean, however, that he hasn't secretly "fallen in love" with one of them, he teased. Orlando also detailed his fiancée Katy Perry's "great relationship" with Flynn, his son with ex-wife Miranda Kerr. "When you have a child, you realize you're not the most important person in the room. It crushes your ego … [and] reframes everything," he said. "[Katy] is still the most important person in her room [with] her family and everyone else. … I'm sure having a child for me changed all of that, so I was in a different headspace and she had to kind of work on getting her head into a headspace that felt like, OK, partnership and stuff." As for his relationship with Miranda, "I always was like, 'Listen, we're gonna be in each other's lives for the rest of each other's lives. We have a child. Let's [do] whatever it takes,'" Orlando said, adding that "it's not always easy."

In an Aug. 29 teaser for the upcoming 17th season of "The Voice," which debuts on Sept. 23, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton gushed about their relationship, which took off in late 2015 after they connected on Season 9 of the show. "To be with my best friend Blakey … I feel pretty lucky right now," said the No Doubt frontwoman, who's returning to the competition as a coach for the first time since Season 12 in early 2017. "I always love having Gwen on the show. … She literally makes my day 100 percent better," said her beau.

Jordan Wiseley and Tori Deal got engaged earlier this year while shooting the current season of "The Challenge" — the same show on which they met. But that doesn't mean they plan to broadcast their nuptials on the MTV reality series. "We met on the show and we met because of the show, but [a wedding] definitely would not be on 'The Challenge,'" the groom-to-be told Us Weekly during an interview that hit the Internet on Aug. 30. "We wouldn't mind letting the public in on the wedding and maybe doing a special of some kind. Our biggest thing is we just want to have the wedding that we would like to have. We don't want any TV commitments to mess up the wedding that we'd like, but we would surely love to have someone there to film it and share it with everyone." James Kennedy and his girlfriend, Raquel Leviss, told Us Weekly on Aug. 28 that things are "really good" between them right now, but that doesn't mean the "Vanderpump Rules" co-stars are ready to get engaged … in spite of the wave of engagements currently rocking their cast. "We're not rushed. You know, everyone else is a lot older than us on the show. Way, way, way older," said the singer. Chimed in Raquel, "We're just enjoying life, we're enjoying each other's company."

Kevin Hart fractured spine in three places in car accident: New details on his injuries, recovery

Five days ago, comedian Kevin Hart was badly injured in a car accident near his Calabasas, California, home. Now new details have emerged about the nature of his injuries and his recovery.

TMZ previously reported that Kevin underwent major back surgery on Sept. 1. Now the outlet has revealed that during the operation, surgeons repaired three spinal fractures.

Sources told TMZ that doctors fused two breaks in the thoracic region (the mid to upper back) and one in the lumbar region (lower back). Sources added that Kevin is in a lot of pain and is being heavily medicated to help him cope.

TMZ further reports that though doctors believe Kevin will recover, it will take a lot of work to get there. On Sept. 4, the site reported that the movie star — who's expected to be released from the hospital later in the week — will soon begin grueling physical therapy.

It's unclear how his injuries will affect his work schedule. Close friend Dwayne Johnson has already stepped up to sub for Kevin as the first guest on Kelly Clarkson's new talk show, which debuts on Sept. 9. Kevin's next film, "Jumanji: The Next Level," comes out in December. Plus he's slated to star in and produce several other projects.

Kevin and two friends — one was reportedly airlifted to a Los Angeles hospital; the other walked away with minor injuries — were riding in his 1970 Plymouth Barracuda when it went off the road and crashed through a fence on Mulholland Highway near Malibu and Calabasas in the early-morning hours of Sept. 1. A motorist who pulled over and called 911 reported that the car was totaled and the top of the vehicle was crushed, at one point pinning at least one occupant inside.

According to TMZ, Kevin's security removed him from the scene of the accident before paramedics arrived. A second 911 call was made form Kevin's nearby home, recordings reveal, indicating that his bodyguard took him there before seeking medical treatment.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the accident. A witness reported hearing the sound of tires screeching before a loud boom.

Constance, who stars opposite J.Lo in the film, spoke to "Good Morning America" about nearly being an accidental on-set victim.

"We had this fight where she starts to be try to take a cell phone out of my hand, and what happened was the cell phone hit me in the nose," the "Crazy Rich Asians" star said. "She felt so bad and I was like, 'Girl, don't worry this is just, you know, battle wounds. Let's keep going.'"

While it certainly wasn't fun being hit in the face, Constance said it was difficult learning to be a stripper for her character.

"I was lucky though in that my character's not supposed to be that good. I had to pretend to be bad, which was easy to do because I wasn't great. But I did do pole dancing lessons and I had a pole installed in my living room," she said, adding that she had to adjust to wearing sky-high stilettos.

"I had those like 8-inch heels and I'd just walk around and do dishes in them," she said. "I was in my flannel pajamas and then my stripper shoes."

Kelly Ripa explains her concern about her daughter going to college in NYC

When Kelly Ripa and her husband of 23 years, Mark Consuelos' daughter, Lola, moved out on Aug. 25, the "Live With Kelly and Ryan" host wrote on Instagram that "the nest is getting roomy." As Kelly explained to Ryan Seacrest on his radio show on Tuesday, Sept. 3, she wants her home's near-empty nest vibe to last because that means Lola's working out who she is and what she wants and needs in life. "College is where you start establishing yourself as an independent person, so when you send your kid … off to college and your kid stays local … if she feels homesick, I have to say to her, 'You can't come home. You have to work it out,'" she explained, according to Us Weekly. "I treat it [like long-distance]. I did the same thing for my son. 'You're going to have to figure it out.' My main concern was, 'I don't know if you should be this close to home because I don't want you using home like it's your home. I want this to be your experience.'" Kelly, who also shares Michael, 22, and Joaquin, 16, with Mark, went on to say she's had trouble convincing her children to find colleges they like on the West Coast — if only to give her an excuse to spend more time out there. "I tried getting my daughter to go to school in San Diego. I tried," she told Ryan. "I am so desperate to get any of my kids to go to school on the West Coast. I want Thanksgiving on the West Coast. Who wants to go to school with a climate that's so terrible?" Instead, Lola opted to attend NYU's Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music. Lola's brother, Michael, also goes to NYU, making Kelly's chances of a warm and sunny holiday season pretty slim. On the plus side, Lola did warn her mom she wouldn't be dropping by Kelly and Mark's pad as if she still lived there her first semester. As Kelly told Ryan on "Live" last month, the college drop-off scenario involved a lot of threats from Lola to the effect of, "Don't think I'm gonna be home before Thanksgiving because I'm not." Joked Kelly: "To that, I said, 'I'll see you in four hours when you come home because you don't know how to use the washing machine!'"

Turns out Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West had no intention of announcing they were expecting baby No. 4 as early as they did. Their formal (second) wedding celebration is just around the corner, but Justin Bieber and Hailey Bieber already seem to be in honeymoon mode. Sarah Jessica Parker officially joins the growing list of celebs in the wine-making business this month. According to Page Six, the "Sex and the City" alum is set to launch an eponymous sauvignon blanc — Invivo x SJP — in September. (In July, Food & Wine reported the release was slated for Sept. 18, although no firm dates seem to appear on newer promotional posts about the launch.) The actress began teasing the new product on social media earlier this summer, gushing about her experience working with New Zealand's Invivo & Co to produce the wine. Made from grapes grown on various estates in the Marlborough region, the blend boasts notes of "grapefruit, honeysuckle flower, passionfruit, and citrus zest," according to Food & Wine. It's also very much a product of Sarah's personal taste and style — she reportedly hand-painted the original label, which features a teal "X" as a nod to her email signature, "X, SJP," in a shade based on the "Hamilton" teal color that one of her top-selling SJP Collection shoes comes in. the sauvignon blanc starts at $18, according to Food & Wine. Shay Mitchell's boyfriend doesn't want her to have an epidural when she gives birth, says she's 'genetically engineered to get through' it

Shay Mitchell and her boyfriend, Matt Babel, have very different opinions about the birth plan for their first child together. On the Wednesday, Sept. 4, edition of their YouTube show, "Almost Ready," Shay says she wants an epidural when she goes into labor because she's "terrified of giving birth." Matte, however, believes that because Shay is female, she is naturally designed to endure childbirth and therefore should not have any anesthesia. "I need Matte to silencio and give me a little bit of space so I can figure [this] out," she says at one point, according to Us Weekly. "I need to get Matte to understand a little bit more how this actually feels, and the struggle that it is." As the couple attempt to talk through their different viewpoints, Shay notes that Matte would never have a root canal without anesthesia because the pain would be so intense. "I'm a hypochondriac, I'm afraid of drugs," he says, somewhat confusingly. "I meet women all the time who choose not to get an epidural … he continues. "A root canal is not comparable because you're not born to go through [a root] canal. As a woman, your body is genetically engineered to get through birth." Matte's natural childbirth position isn't the only subject on which he fancies himself an expert in the mechanics of the female body. Later in the show, while discussing breast-feeding, Shay points out that "some women don't want to" breast-feed. "I'm against that and I think some women are too," Matte says."If you have the innate ability to breast-feed and the kid latches, why wouldn't you want the best for your baby? The physical connection, the things you get from breast-milk if you can do it. If you can't, that's rough, I get it." After suffering a miscarriage, Shay announced in June that she and Matte were expecting their first child together.

Kevin Hart recovering from back surgery post-car crash: New details

Kevin Hart is recovering from back surgery after sustaining a major injury in a serious car accident in the early morning hours of Sept. 1. Though the operation went well, TMZ reports, the comedy star is still facing a long recovery.

TMZ reports that Kevin — who was riding in the front passenger seat of his 1970 Plymouth Barracuda, which was being driven by a friend, Jared Black, when the crash occurred off Mulholland Highway near Malibu and Calabasas, California — will require what it describes as "extensive physical therapy."

Kevin is expected to be released from the hospital by the end of this week and then will soon begin intensive PT, reports TMZ, which has photos of the battered car. Shortly after surgery, Kevin's wife, Eniko, told TMZ the actor was awake and was "going to be just fine."

What's not yet known is how the driver — who was initially pinned inside the totaled vehicle — is doing. TMZ reported that Jared, who also had back injuries, was airlifted to UCLA Medical Center after managing to free himself despite initially being trapped inside.

A third person who was sitting in the backseat — Jared's fiancée, Rebecca Broxterman (TMZ reports she's Kevin's wife's trainer) — walked away from the crash with minor injuries despite initially being stuck inside the car.

TMZ has also obtained audio of a 911 call made after the incident. In it, a man who pulled over to help after seeing the damaged car can be heard telling dispatchers that Jared and Rebecca were both conscious and that "the top of the car is crushed." He also said it was a one-vehicle accident, "one car that went off [the road]." He also can be heard telling the couple, "Stay calm, help's coming!"

According to TMZ, Kevin's security removed him from the scene of the accident before paramedics arrived.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash. TMZ reported that investigators have confirmed that alcohol wasn't a factor. But speed, it seems, might have been: A witness who heard the accident reported that the sound of tires screeching preceded a loud boom.

Speed may have been a factor in the car crash that left Kevin Hart hospitalized: Report

As Kevin Hart continues to recover from the serious injuries he sustained in a car accident over the weekend, police are looking into the possibility that the driver's speed caused him to lose control of the comic's 1970 Plymouth Barracuda. That's according to TMZ, which reports law enforcement sources are considering a tip from a "witness who was within earshot" of the crash on Sunday, Sept. 2, and who said it sounded as if Kevin's friend, Jared Black, peeled out shortly before skidding into a fence on Mulholland Highway and landing in a ditch off the side of the road. The car's roof was destroyed from the impact, crushing Jared and his fiancee. As of Tuesday, there was no update on their condition. Kevin reportedly underwent back surgery on Monday. His wife says he's expected to "be fine."

Bethenny Frankel spent the holiday weekend in prep mode for two very different missions — a trip to the hurricane-ravaged Bahamas via Miami, where her B Strong disaster aid organization's warehouse is stocking supplies like first aid gear, water, generators and more, and her 9-year-old daughter, Bryn's first day of school. Bethenny, 48, documented her travels and disaster aid plans on social media throughout the day on Sunday, Sept. 2, and Monday, telling followers she was traveling to "assess" the situation as Dorian continues its crawl north towards Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas. She also made a few specific requests for help filling needs like "chainsaws, medical supplies and generators" for those affected by the powerful storm, and reminded followers that "100 percent" of donations to B Strong "goes to relief." "I pay my travel and expenses," she tweeted at one point, adding that "knowing exactly where your money is going is empowering" when it comes to disaster aid relief. By early Tuesday morning, Bethenny posted that she was "in a holding pattern bc of restricted air space," but that her team was "working on loading generators, chainsaws & medical equipment onto the sea planes" and that B Strong has "been endorsed by the Bahamian Consulate as a relief partner." The former "Real Housewives of New York City" star founded the organization in 2017.

Heather Locklear's daughter, Ava Sambora, is focused on supporting her mother as she works her way through a court-ordered, month-long treatment program for substance abuse. And as painful it is, she knows that it's in her mom's hands and God's hands," a source tells People of the 21-year-old Heather shares with her ex, Richie Sambora. "All she can do is like anybody else, just pray and support." Heather, 57, began her current rehab stint after pleading no contest to eight counts of battery and other misdemeanors related to two arrests in September 2018. According to Radar, the "Melrose Place" alum was sentenced to 120 days behind bars. The sentence was reportedly stayed on the condition she fulfill the inpatient treatment program and consume no alcohol or non-prescription drugs for three years. Ariana Grande sues Forever 21 for allegedly stealing her likeness to promote their brands

Forever 21 has yet another potential financial problem. A few days after rumors surfaced indicating the company might file for bankruptcy, Ariana Grande sued the store for $10 million for allegedly using a lookalike model and photos of Ariana in promotional materials for its beauty line. Jezebel reports Ariana's lawyers filed documents on Sept. 2 claiming the company offered Ariana an endorsement deal with its beauty arm, Riley Rose. She declined the offer due to conflicts on pay, then noticed that as "Thank U, Next" gained popularity, the company "stole her name, likeness, and other intellectual property to promote their brands for free," because of Forever 21's "declining success." Images used by the company around that time seem to show photos of a young woman with an uncanny resemblance to Ariana posing with hair and clothing that match what Ariana wore in her video for "7 Rings."According to the lawsuit, Ariana says she asked the company to remove the Ariana-esque content but they did not.

ICYMI, Demi Lovato was not referring to Taylor Swift's Video of the Year win at the MTV VMAs when she posted last week "there's a reason" she skipped the awards show. Now, she's doubling down on support for the singer in spite of the pair's recent history of negative interactions. Salma Hayek got a whole lot of sugar on her 53rd birthday!

The actress celebrated her big day on Monday, and she let her Instagram followers in on the party, even sharing a video of her face getting shoved into a birthday cake. Her billionaire husband, François-Henri Pinault, did the honors.

"I love this Mexican tradition, but the best part is the kiss," she captioned a video from dinner that shows the friends encouraging François to push her face into the icing. The two shared a kiss after the tradition.

Salma was clearly not bothered by her suddenly frosted face, adding, "[Thank you, my love]… you're the best."

In a video posted earlier in the day, Salma reveled in the excitement of the evening, singing along to a Mariachi band. Salma has showed off her vocal chops before, as she sung in 2002's "Frida."

The new sighting only fuels dating rumors, which began in early August when the two were spotted in the West End leaving a production of "The Lehman Trilogy" together and heading to dinner.

Britney Spears and ex formally change custody agreement

Britney Spears and her ex-husband Kevin Federline have changed their custody agreement, and he will now get their two sons 70 percent of the time.

TMZ reported that this isn't really a new development, as this has been the arrangement for over a year. Now, having seen that it seems to work well, the former couple has formally agreed to the changes in court. The agreement became official last week.

Under the agreement, Britney's time with Sean, 13, and Jayden, 12, are not supervised.

In the previous custody agreement, which began in 2007, both Britney and Kevin shared their children equally.

Britney has struggled with her mental health over the past year, which is what supposedly prompted that change in their custody arrangement. In early spring she reportedly checked herself into a mental health facility, apparently distraught over her father Jamie Spears' health. (Jamie nearly died last year after his colon ruptured.)

The pop star later dropped a bombshell in May, reportedly telling a judge that she was sent to the treatment center against her will. Further, Britney told a judge she wants to be free of the constraints of the conservatorship that her father has led since she had a mental breakdown in 2008. Her mother, Lynn Spears, even agreed with claims that Britney was committed to treatment against her will and forced to take drugs.

According to TMZ, Britney's struggles are at least partially linked to the medication she had been taking for her mental health condition not working like it once did.

1999 Emmy Awards fashion flashback

We're gonna party like it's 1999… at the Emmys, that is! In honor of the 2019 Emmy Awards on Sept. 22, Wonderwall.com is going back in time to check out what the stars wore on TV's biggest night two decades ago, starting with then-Hollywood power couple Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston. Brad looked sexy and laid back in a black suit with his dress shirt unbuttoned at the top, while Jen (who was nominated for her work on the hit sitcom "Friends" that year) dazzled in a brown Randolph Duke gown with a sheer beaded bodice. Keep reading for more fashion flashbacks from the 1999 Emmys!

Calista Flockhart took a risk with a casual-formal combo ensemble at the 1999 Emmys — and it paid off. Her now-iconic Ralph Lauren look featured a simple white button-up shirt tied into a crop top and a canary-yellow chiffon ballgown skirt with a drawstring waist. Both her style and legal drama, "Ally McBeal," were winners that year!

Midriff-baring formalwear was definitely a trend at the 1999 Emmys! Halle Berry wore a pink-beaded Versace tank top with a revealing scoop neckline and a coordinating black tulle skirt. Luckily, she didn't have to accept an award in that bizarre dress: Her first win came the following year for her performance in "Introducing Dorothy Dandridge."

Sarah Jessica Parker, who was nominated for her role as Carrie Bradshaw in HBO's "Sex and the City," went with a mellow yellow look in 1999 for her first time at the Emmys. SJP wore a slinky Anna Molinari slip dress, but don't be fooled by the airy silhouette. Sarah's gown was actually quite heavy as it was encrusted with glittering crystals. "You wanna feel the weight of it?" she joked.

Back in the good old days when "Felicity" was still on the air, the show's shining star, Keri Russell, was every girl's style inspiration. Take the strapless white Armani gown with clean, elegant lines that she wore to the 1999 Emmys, for example. Keri looked relatable yet ultra-chic with the addition of an iridescent lavender shawl draped on her arms.

Julia Roberts has always known how to be a classy "Pretty Woman," especially back in the '90s. She wore a timeless black Ralph Lauren halter gown to accompany her then-boyfriend, Benjamin Bratt, to the 1999 Emmy Awards. Ben, who was nominated for his supporting role on NBC's "Law & Order," didn't look too shabby either in a formal black tuxedo.

The sparkling pink David Cardona gown that Lara Flynn Boyle wore to the 1999 Emmys couldn't have been more different from the modest business attire she wore to play an assistant district attorney on ABC's "The Practice." Her sheer sleeveless number with strategically placed crystal beading didn't leave much to the imagination.

Lucy Liu shut down the 1999 Emmys red carpet in a unique red-and-black number custom made by costume designer Joseph Porro. The nominated "Ally McBeal" star's look featured an asymmetrically constructed neckline and a long, regal train in a bold Asian-inspired print, which popped nicely against her black bodice.

Michelle Williams had a spaghetti-strap moment to remember at the 1999 Emmys. The "Dawson's Creek" starlet donned a simple and sexy pale pink gown with a sheer sequin overlay to add a touch of subtle sparkle.

Sarah Michelle Gellar cleaned up nicely after leaving the set of her hit show "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" to take a walk down the red carpet at the 1999 Emmys. She stunned in a turquoise Vera Wang halter gown with a leg-baring front slit. Even two decades later, SMG says it's still one of her favorite looks, but most of all, she's just "excited it still fits."

Christina Applegate was ravishing in red sequins at the 1999 Emmys. Her spaghetti-strap number by Richard Tyler featured intricate beadwork around the waist and a sexy thigh slit. The "Married With Children" star accessorized with a bright red shawl and a tiny rectangular clutch perfect for the red carpet.

Debra Messing was on hand at the 1999 Emmys to support her NBC sitcom, "Will & Grace," which was nominated for best directing. But she looked like a winner in her own right wearing a strapless cream gown with an asymmetrical hemline and pleated train. She kept it cohesive with a clutch made from the same shimmering silk fabric as her dress.

Gillian Anderson dressed the part of a leading lady in a Prada cocktail mididress at the 1999 Emmys (she was nominated that year for her work on the FOX sci-fi series "The X-Files"). Her champagne number featured a halter neckline, structured corset bodice and all-over floral print featuring pops of color in shades of pink, red, purple and gold.

Leelee Sobieski was just 17 when she attended the 1999 Emmys (she was nominated that year for her leading role in the miniseries "Joan of Arc") and it was pretty clear she was still working on refining her personal style. She wore a plain black gown with a plunging neckline and rectangular-shaped beadwork on the bodice that reminded us of the magic carpet from "Aladdin."

All Portia de Rossi was missing at the 1999 Emmys was her broomstick! The "Ally McBeal" actress gave off major witch vibes in a distressed black dress with a deep-V neckline and extra-frayed hemline. The addition of knee-high boots with a pointed toe didn't help matters.

Jane Krakowski, who also starred on "Ally McBeal," looked radiant and polished in a violet Fause Haten mermaid gown the 1999 Emmys. She paired the strapless silk number with a dainty floral cross-body clutch that matched.

Helen Mirren dressed like a true winner at the 1999 Emmys in a stunning Badgley Mischka gown (she took home an award for best lead actress for her work in the TV movie "The Passion of Ayn Rand"). Her dusty blue dress featured a square neckline and darker velvet fabric from the waist down, all tied together with shimmering crystals dripping down the bodice and sheer long sleeves.

"ER" star Julianna Margulies ditched her on-screen scrubs for much sexier duds at the 1999 Emmys. She looked ravishing in a strapless red silk corset dress that hugged her in all the right places.

Helen Hunt kept it simple in a strapless black number at the 1999 Emmys, where she won big for her performance on NBC's rom-com series "Mad About You." Her A-line gown featuring a unique layered side train was classic and elegant.

Jane Leeves' sitcom, "Frasier," received a total of eight nominations at the 1999 Emmys, but judging by her revealing Randolph Duke dress, she wanted all of the spotlight! Her totally sheer number, which was drenched in pink sequins, featured a low draped neckline and a daringly high side slit with a bow at the top.

Cynthia Nixon went with an interesting color combination at the 1999 Emmys. The "Sex and the City" star wore a sleeveless pastel green top with a billowing sherbet orange skirt, both in the same iridescent silk fabric.

Courtney Thorne-Smith stood out from her ensemble cast on "Ally McBeal" in a dazzling deep blue gown at the 1999 Emmys. Her sleeveless boat neck number featured rows of jewel-encrusted flowers throughout.

Patricia Heaton opted for a surprising two-in-one white ensemble at the 1999 Emmys. The "Everybody Loves Raymond" actress wore a floor-length patterned tunic top that buttoned at the waist but could be opened to reveal a coordinating pencil skirt underneath.

Sela Ward looked a bit medieval in a boisterous purple Chanel ensemble at the 1999 Emmys. She wore a strapless sequined burgundy dress with rectangular block lines and a puffed-sleeve lilac overcoat that tied around her waist.

Kristin Davis tried to jazz up her simple black gown at the 1999 Emmys by adding a crocheted white belt loosely tied around her waist. The "Sex and the City" star's strapless number also featured a white lace undercarriage that peeped out from the bottom.

1989 Emmy Awards fashion flashback

On Sept. 22, 2019, the 71st Annual Primetime Emmy Awards will air on FOX. While viewers will tune in to see which of their favorite shows win big, the fashion is of equal (if not more) interest to many. In honor of another epic red carpet, Wonderwall.com is taking a look back at what stars wore 30 years ago at the 41st Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, which took place on Sept. 17, 1989… starting with Paula Abdul. Paula wore an ice skater-style white strapless embellished dress with nearly shoulder-length sleeves as she took home an Emmy for outstanding choreography for her work on "The Tracey Ullman Show."

Christina Applegate is nominated for an Emmy in 2019 for her performance on "Dead to Me." Thirty years ago in 1989, a 17-year-old Christina attended the same award show wearing a simple black dress with lace sleeves and accessorized with granny boots, hoop earrings and big hair.

Late "Brady Bunch" stars Robert Reed and Florence Henderson posed backstage at the Emmys in 1989. Robert's big bow tie and Florence's shoulder pads and hairstyle certainly screamed '80s, but her sparkly silver figure-accentuating gown could certainly have worked in future decades.

In 1989, Dana Delany took home an Emmy for best lead actress in a drama series for her performance on "China Beach." Dana wore a black cocktail dress with sheer sleeves when she picked up the honor.

"China Beach" star Marg Helgenberger wore blue to the 1989 Emmys in the form of a strapless dress with heavy beading on top and a handkerchief-style hemline. The beauty of the dress was a bit shrouded by the sheer matching jacket she wore over it.

Debbie Allen was nominated in 1989 for best variety or music program directing for "The Debbie Allen Special." For her big night, Debbie wore a black gown with voluminous sleeves and a gold lamé accent. To complete the stunning look, she added a touch of color with statement earrings.

Candice Bergen took home top honors in acting for her starring performance on "Murphy Brown" in 1989. While her feet couldn't handle the long night, she certainly looked the part of a winner in a unique gown. The top of her strapless dress featured a leopard print while the bottom was metallic with large spots — weird, but it worked!

Faith Ford — a best supporting actress nominee for her work on "Murphy Brown" that year — attended the 1989 Emmys wearing a figure-hugging rich red-brown velvet gown that tastefully highlighted her décolletage.

Rhea Perlman (accompanied by then-husband Danny DeVito) took home an Emmy in 1989 for her work on "Cheers" and couldn't have looked happier about it! For her big night, Rhea wore a turquoise halter-style dress and a bright pink wrap along with minimal makeup and simple accessories.

"Anything But Love" co-stars Richard Lewis and Jamie Lee Curtis posed backstage at the 1989 Emmys in their award-show finest: A simple navy long-sleeved gown for her and a tuxedo jacket with a white-collared black shirt featuring gold threading for him.

Thirty years before Katherine Helmond passed away at 89 in 2019, she was nominated for an Emmy at the 1989 show for her work on "Who's The Boss?" She attended the ceremony with David Christian, her husband since 1962. Katherine arrived in a red gown with a plunging neckline accentuated with a jeweled pin near her décolletage.

Tux-clad star Fred Savage was a 13-year-old best lead actor nominee for his work on "The Wonder Years" at the 1989 Emmys.

Betty White and Ruta Lee dazzled at the 1989 Emmys. Betty, a nominee for "Golden Girls" that year, and Ruta both wore sparkly dresses — a black sheer gown with gold accents for Betty, and a short V-neck cocktail dress in light blue and green hues for Ruta.

When Holly Hunter took home an Emmy for best actress in a miniseries or special for her performance in "Roe vs. Wade," she wore a sheer black long-sleeved gown with an asymmetrical hem. Since it was 1989, Holly paired the dress with a pair of black pantyhose, naturally.

"L.A. Law" star Jimmy Smits — a best supporting actor nominee that year — wore a classic tuxedo while his partner, actress Wanda De Jesus, opted for a sparkling black gown accessorized with long gloves for the 41st Annual Primetime Emmy Awards in Pasadena, California, on Sept. 17, 1989.

"L.A. Law" star Blair Underwood looked cool, sleek and timeless in his black tux with sunglasses at the 1989 Emmys. His date's dress epitomized the glitz and glam fashion that dominated much of the decade.

"Poltergeist" and "The Big Chill" actress JoBeth Williams wore black lace and velvet separates embellished with tassels and Chinese-inspired frog closures to support husband John Pasquin at the 1989 Emmys, where he was nominated for best director for his work helming "L.A. Law."

Marlo Thomas sparkled at the 1989 Emmys in a dazzling peplum-style strapless gown with minimal accessories and sleek hair.

Arsenio Hall kept his Emmys style simple in 1989. The comedian wore a blue blazer sans tie with a collared shirt, showing the timelessness of men's fashion.

Comedienne Tracey Ullman won big at the 1989 Emmys, taking home a best variety, music or comedy program statue for her eponymous show, and looked beyond thrilled backstage in an LBD with a unique headpiece and classic black pantyhose.

A strapless gold sequined cocktail dress covered up with a black tuxedo-inspired jacket looked good on Melanie Mayron at the 1989 Emmys, where she took home a best supporting actress Emmy for her work on the acclaimed drama series "Thirtysomething."

Patricia Wettig and Ken Olin attended the 1989 Emmy Awards with him in a classic tux and her in a boho-style baggy brown beaded gown that would likely be considered too casual for a modern Emmys telecast.

"Thirtysomething" star Polly Draper wore a flapper-inspired beaded cocktail dress to the 1989 Emmy Awards.

Robert Duvall chose what looked like a cross between a bow tie and bolo tie to wear with his brown suit for the 1989 Emmys, where he was accompanied by Sharon Brophy, whom he'd later marry (and divorce). The two clearly didn't coordinate outfits, with Robert evoking Southwestern vibes and Sharon feeling the 1920s with her flapper-style turquoise dress and knotted pearl necklace.

"M*A*S*H" star Loretta Swit arrived at the 41st Annual Primetime Emmy Awards in 1989 wearing a simple strapless red gown with black gloves.

Polly Bergen, who was nominated for her acting in "War and Remembrance" that year, evoked a beautifully wrapped present in her Emmys gown — a white long-sleeved number featuring a bow at the waist and a flower embellishment on the bodice.

Lisa Eilbacher, who starred in the TV movie "Manhunt: Search for the Night Stalker" in 1989, wore a popular silhouette to the Emmys that year: draped sleeves leading to an embellished, fitted waist. The white hue made her look youthful and the cut showed off her enviable figure.
